Hidden treasure: Hanoi's Truc Bach Neighbourhood - SilverKris

"Hidden in a cluttered courtyard amid Soviet-era apartment blocks, this café and events venue features a small library, a stage for music and lectures, and a rooftop terrace with wraparound views of the surrounding buildings. Created as a community space for sharing passions—be it poetry, philosophy or knitting—the venue hosts regular events (see its Facebook page) or welcomes casual visits for a ca phe trung (egg coffee)." - Joshua Zukas

Cozy and chill cafe, in a quiet alley - a refuge from the chaotic city. Comfy seating and books to browse. Wish that music was quieter as it was a little disturbing. Most people were there studying and had their own earphones anyway, so it would be better to have lower music volume.

I have loved Bluebird's Nest since I was a kid. I enjoy the chill, calm, and quiet atmosphere. As for the drinks, they aren't bad, but honestly, nothing on the menu has impressed me so far. A great thing about this place is how LGBTQ+ (and weirdo) friendly it is, they welcome everyone with open arms.

Lovely quiet book cafe in the old classic part Hanoi that very much carries that timeless classic hanoi vibe too. Definitely worth a visit 👍👌❤️

the most beautiful cafe i’ve ever seen. this is the perfect place to come alone and work or read— it’s devoid of conversation with only the sounds of the city in the background. it’s tucked away in a little oasis of greenery and has two mischievous cats who roam the area. the ground floor is cosy with its pillows and wooden bookshelves, while the rooftop is tranquil with its enclosed position and abundance of greenery. i wish i lived in hanoi just so i could come here every day. plus they are lgbtq+ friendly and the cheesecake is to die for!

New addition to list of places for coffee & study/work! Ordered hot milk coffee and hot cinnamon chocolate, both great 😊 2nd floor can get a bit noisy if busy, but nothing beats fresh winter air for me. 1st floor is quieter, seems to be specifically designed for focused time.

Immediately greeted with a queer safe spaces sticker on the front door ☺️. It's tucked in an alley with a wall on the right having a green bluebird's nest sign so you know you're heading in the right direction. Milktea wasn't cold even if it had ice and wifi was a bit slow, but the atmosphere is indeed cozy and a great place to chill, study for a while, or borrow their books (both Vietnamese & English).

This place is not on the street, it in the alley so it quite hard to find the store. But when you come to the store, you think it should be in the alley because it so beautiful and. peaceful. The store has some good from nature and they hang some quote about environment and saving animal. The price in here is suitable and the quality is good, no comment. You can spend all day in it with a lot of book in there.

A true hidden gem and beautifully located. Its relaxing, has a nice menu, and adorably cute cats. I arrived around 12 pm on a sunday and there was plenty of seating, around 1:30 more guest started coming in and once it was starting to fill up I left around 2pm! My advice is to come early in the morning to be able to have the space to yourself. Once your in the alley way(its quite wide) just walk until it narrows into two smaller sections. Then take a left into the court yard. There are signs for the cafe.
