This place had been on my to-eat list for awhile, so I needed to go with people who would appreciate a carnivorous delight. We all chose the Feed Me option for variety, but we were also persuaded to check out the Pork Ribs - we succumbed.
Being Texan BBQ fare, we knew to expect big portions, but the platter was huge! My favourites were the super tender beef brisket, the rich and flavoursome pulled pork and the sausage of the day with its great texture. The much touted pork ribs were a bit salty for my liking.
The banquet also came with all the sides. The apple and carrot slaw was crunchy and gave contrast to the meal. The mashed potato was a favourite too but the broccoli salad was cold and not so tempting.
We shared the caramel pear crumble with ice cream for dessert. It was smothered in oats, which didn't seem to complement the other ingredients.
We had a really friendly server, so service was excellent throughout the night. The rustic decor gave the space a barn-like feel. Overall, a good experience and I'm glad we went.
