Google
YUM! Stopped here on a whim and o am SO happy we did! What a good find! The atmosphere is so adorable with the little shop and being able to see the candle making! The food? 10/10! I’ve never had avocado toast like that and now I fear nothing will ever even come close to that! The burrito was super tasteful and had a delicious chipotle drizzle! The chai is perfectly spiced and well balanced and now my boyfriend’s favorite drink is the Affogato! The ladies working were also delightful! 10/10!

Google
Great food, service and atmosphere. Vegan options available. Great vibe. I would describe it as a western version of Central Perk. Only observation was that the bathroom that I used was not up to the standard of the restaurant, not horrible, just average. There is a store that sells primarily candles but also nic nacs (sp?). I’ll be back.

Google
Phenomenal experience. The coffee was one of the best I’ve ever had! All 3 dishes we ordered were delicious! This will most certainly be a regular stop for us when we’re driving through town.

Google
The food and beverages are delicious and dogs are welcome! Good atmosphere too, pretty relaxed. Also a great view of candle making and a good candle shop attached. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Google
Bluecorn Café & Mercantile is truly one of the best places to visit in Montrose, Colorado — whether you’re looking for a cozy café, a delicious breakfast spot, or a unique local shopping experience. I stopped in for breakfast and had the avocado toast, which was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The coffee was honestly some of the best coffee I’ve ever had — rich, smooth, and incredibly fresh. The perfect go-to spot for coffee and breakfast in Montrose. The café is connected to a charming mercantile shop filled with handmade candles, artisan pottery, kitchen tools, and local specialty foods. It’s the perfect place to find gifts or just treat yourself to something unique and locally made. One of the coolest features? You can actually watch them pour and craft candles in their on-site factory — such a rare and special experience. It adds a creative, authentic touch to the entire visit. There’s plenty of seating and it’s a great spot to open your laptop and get some work done while enjoying the view and people-watching. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm, and welcoming — everything you want in a local café. If you’re looking for the best breakfast in Montrose, best coffee shop with WiFi, or the best locally-owned store for artisan shopping, Bluecorn Café & Mercantile is a must-visit. A true hidden gem in Western Colorado!

Google
Food, coffee, seriously great vibes… yes to all. The quiche was seriously on point, fresh and delicious. The quiche crust was absolutely perfect … perfectly flaky. The Macchiato was REAL! Not a Starbucks made thing called a macchiato… I got a little coffee emotional. To finish off my visit, the avocado toast rounded out my visit. I haven’t had avocado toast quite like this before. The avocado had a little … lemon zing..? But I liked it a lot. Very fresh, can definitely tell whoever made the food enjoys their job.

Google
Stopped here in the midst of a road trip from Denver, and I'm so glad we did! They have lots of gluten-free options (quiche, gluten-free bread for sandwiches, dessert tarts, etc.), and the breakfast sandwich and dirty chai I got were extremely tasty. The ambiance of the coffee shop / store is so cool – I only wish it were closer to me!

Google
Great breakfast burritos, Taylor and Adrianna were wonderful behind the counter, kitchen was very efficient. Great atmosphere, definitely the best place for breakfast montrose has to offer open every day! Thanks so much Bluecorn

Cathy S.

Yelp
A wonderful environment, and fun to watch the candlemaking. The coffee was delicious as was my avocado toast. I've already recommended it to several people. Good job blue corn.

Yelp
Bare feet on tables where people eat! We had heard about this place for a couple years and finally gave it try while we were in town over the weekend. The food was ok. Edible. Just odd combinations of tastes and texture. Very limited menu. Bloody Mary was meh. I think the most off putting things were the cleanliness of the dining room. I'm ok with busing my own table, but it would be nice if someone actually came out and cleaned anything. All the available tables were filthy/sticky. Also didn't enjoy seeing adults having coffee with their BARE FEET ON TABLES. GROSS. Pay attention to the dining area.

Yelp
Impromptu stop for lunch enroute to the airport. Super unique setting and vibe. Plenty of comfortable sitting with many people hanging out, enjoying coffee, and working on their devices. However it didn't feel crowded at all. Order at counter and pickup. Food was solid - from the sandwiches to soup to salads and sides. On the pricey side. Had an iced chai which was very delicious. Also shared a sesame tahini cookie which was unique. The shop is super cute with some interesting gifts and open concept candle factory very cool.

Yelp
I was visiting family and we come here often. Coffee, tea, spirits and goodies are a delight. They have a large glass partition which allows you to see into their candle making process. And, yes, they have a gift shop with those candles and other cool gifts for sale. Coming soon will be music and vibes so check out their website for more details. One suggestion, the bathrooms are clean but there are no seat covers. I understand that it is easier to make bathrooms for "any sex", so can seat covers please be added? Thank you .

Yelp
Food is OK. Didn't really like the atmosphere and slow service. Sandwich was dry and uninteresting.

Yelp
We stopped in for breakfast on our way to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and we were blown away by the charming ambiance. Very spacious place with lots of seating options and a large section for shopping including candles made right next door. The glass wall on one side allows you to look in at the candle factory and watch the candle making process. We grabbed a couple coffees and breakfast sandwiches and enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend and if we're ever back in town this will be an absolute must for us.

Yelp
Met up with a friend here and got some lunch and a Chai tea. Nice chill vibe, some might call it hipster but I think it was just nice and relaxing. I got the ham and cheese melt. It had some spice which I enjoyed. The Chai tea was great too. Reasonable prices.

Yelp
Cute cafe with a gift shop and candle factory! Limited menu but it was delicious. The shop had so many unique items.

Yelp
Good food in trendy atmosphere. Service was quick and efficient and the choices were great. Would go back!

Yelp
Everything was awesome. A little pricey, but I understand quality food is a bit more. I wish I could afford to eat there everyday !

Yelp
Quiche is always fresh, & comes with a great light salad, perfect brunch! Paired with a latte, perfect!

Yelp
Traveling from Ouray to Den, it was breakfast time pulling into Montrose. Scanned Yelp for breakfast places, Bluecorn had the rating & number of reviews to pass the test. Spacious cafe with candle retail to the left, and candle making operation to the right which you can see behind glass windows. I got a veggie quiche and a raspberry tart. The flavor and texture on the quiche was solid. The only issue was the crust was so razor thin that when you cut a piece with your fork the crust would not stick to the quiche. To get crust with the quiche bite, after cutting you had to scoop the crust with fork first, then add quiche - or you had to push the crust with fingers to get reconnected to the quiche. But, the flavor was delicious and quiche enjoyable otherwise. Was gonna take the tart to go, but ended up eating it there. Very soft, raspberry flavor only in the middle. Thumbs up. I wish they would allow a 4.5 star rating, as that's what I would give it. Can't do so, so it's a 4 since the crust inhibited the quiche. Would definitely come here again. Oh, and they have some FANTASTIC smelling candles, a new collection that begins with an A. I don't think it's Artisan, but close to it. Bought one as a gift with sagebrush, eucalyptus, and bergamot. Stellar!

Yelp
we stopped here for breakfast after an early morning departure from Telluride. This is a great spot. Plenty of parking and seating, good selections for breakfast and very efficient service. Food was good and exceptionally nicely presented. The bonus of being able to watch candles being made while you eat is fun. Very nice option
google avatar

Lianna T.

Yelp
Cool space with candle shop at the front, candle factory adjoining, and cafe towards the back. Seating option included big wooden communal tables and comfy leather couches. The food was beautifully presented and tasty. The avocado toast with an added egg was plentiful. The highlight of the meal was the gluten free chocolate chip banana bread. All of the pastries looked delicious!

Yelp
Bluecorn Cafe is fairly new to Montrose but I must say they have never disappointed. This is a cute cafe that is also a candle shop! Their food is always from local vendors and tastes amazing! My friend and I went for brunch and they allow you to have your dogs inside with you! I love a pet friendly establishment! The staff were all very kind and great at recommending new drinks to try! The ambience of the whole place is just amazing. You can eat, have a drink and relax here it's perfect!

Ali N.

Yelp
Everything about this place is delightful! The atmosphere is lively, the staff super friendly, the food DELISH and beautifully presented, the view of candle-making very unique and interesting, and the selection of merchandise varied and super attractive and good-smelling. For breakfast I had the special--a yogurt muesli with granola and fresh fruit. It exceeded all expectations! The other foods also looked really good--it was hard to decide. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Enjoyed the rosemary lavender latte on my trip to Colorado to feed the wildfire firefighters.

Yelp
Stopped into Bluecorn on a slow morning--mocha was good, could've used a few more degrees of heat, but they're clearly not out to scorch the milk. Just need to heat those cups. The place has that rare thing: actual craft, not curated vibes. Candle makers working behind glass while locals talk life over gluten-free muffins that don't suck. It's spacious without being empty, warm without the forced charm. Feels like somewhere built by people who still give a damn.

Yelp
FANTASTIC chicken pesto panini for me and my husband had the power salad. We both enjoyed a glass of elderberry hibiscus tea and a PHENOMENAL oatmeal cookie. Thank you!!!

Michelle K.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town and looking for something healthy. We were very pleased - the food was delicious!!
google avatar

Kelsey T.

Yelp
This place was one of my favorite stops! They made my matcha order perfectly and the baristas were so friendly and helpful with any questions! The space itself is a huge beautiful open shop with a nice area to browse and shop while you wait for your order, or a nice area with plenty of comfy couches for seating if you wanted too! I could definitely see this place as a great area to study or do some work if you wanted to, just make sure you buy some drinks & food while you take up a space! This place is dog friendly but it's always great to double check beforehand when you visit somewhere!
google avatar

Kylanne R.

Yelp
Lovely little place. Had the avocado toast and latte. Spent the morning working and then browsed the shop. Didn't buy anything but will remember this as a great gift option!

Doshia S.

Yelp
Healthy option for brunch or lunch, with a laidback atmosphere. 10 minutes from the airport makes it a good pre-flight stop.

Yelp
I had no idea there was a cafe inside Bluecorn until I looked up lunch spots on Yelp. The atmosphere is awesome, I love it! I was also so happy to see how many GF options they had including pastries. The menu isn't huge, mostly sandwiches. I had the chicken pesto panini on GF & I was pleasantly surprised that it was strips of chicken breast & not lunch meat. The GF bread was good too, not too dense & the bread to filling ratio was perfect. There was also a GF tahini chocolate brownie & it was delicious! The drink I had was sooo good too. I think it was called Green Goodness-jalapeño infused Tequila, cucumber, lime, super refreshing.

Emily R.

Yelp
What a great treat! Enjoyed a delicious breakfast with wonderful coffee and had the bonus of shopping the beautiful mercantile located inside. Highly recommend!

Stormy L.

Yelp
Ok great coffee HORRIBLE customer service...no smiles no eye contact...asked for a lid and they walked away without any verbalization and came back with a too small lid and placed it on the counter again with no communication.

Yelp
This is a rare find in a small city in south western Colorado. coffee and food they offer are top notch. The space is large and welcoming. The serving size of the food can be more generous than you would think so be aware. The building is also a candle factory and retail space of their candle products and other home goods. The factory which occupies most of the floor are separated from the cafe with a glass wall. The staffs were very friendly and easy going. Unlike some of other candle companies, there was no strong artificial small, etc. so no worries. Their candles are all from natural bee wax. All these created very homey atmosphere and it was very relaxing. I will definitely be back if I am in this area!

Yelp
This place was such a great find! We stopped here right before a flight out of Montrose and the food was AMAZING! It is a great place to get some work done and they have a cute little section to shop for some unique gifts.

Yelp
Excellent place. I love coming to the relaxing environment. Thank you for making my time in Montrose so fun!

Yelp
Great food in a quaint setting. We really enjoyed the food and shopping. Plus good drinks.
google avatar

Kierstin B B.

Yelp
Always delicious, always fresh! The vibe though...cool, honey scented, low-key. The gift shop is full of local artisan gifts from their candle factory (which you can observe while you sip, snack and shop). Great for a solo cuppa or meeting with friends. Yum to heated banana bread, the avo toast, the yogurt, the tahini cookies, the salads... always a unique spin!

Manzo G.

Yelp
The good news about bluecorn is that they are a healthy and fast option in the montrose area, a rare thing. The other plus is that the space is beautiful and friendly. The less good news is that their food often feels indifferent to flavor and texture. The chicken panino has dry, overcooked chicken, in an otherwise delicious sandwich. The grain bowl quickly becomes a flavorless mash of poorly cooked eggplant and brown rice... not very appealing. The breakfast sandwich is often just egg and dry brioche. These all could be fixed with some more vision toward menu. I'd love to come more regularly!

Yelp
First time visiting Montrose on the way to Ouray. We stopped to get a hot drink and some food and everything was fantastic! What a great space--pairing candle making and a cafe. The spiced chai and avocado toast were flavorful and satisfying. Friendly staff, plenty of seating--both tables/chairs and comfy couches.

Yelp
We hosted a "Welcome" party at The Bluecorn Mercantile for guests coming into town for a family wedding. Brittney was a pleasure to work with. The staff took care of setting up before and cleaning up at the end of the evening. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, they easily handled 100 guests. Food and drinks were amazing and plenty to go around. Their exemplary handling of the event made it a relaxed evening giving me time to enjoy our guests. Thank you Brittney!

Fred

Yelp
Interesting sandwiches and salads. Strange service; mostly self service. Seem to have only one or two kinds of bead, Strange flavored potato chips.

Yelp
A great stop in Montrose on the way from the airport to Telluride. The power greens salad was fantastic and the tahini dressing was light and a great topping for the veggies and avocado. The gift shop has a lot of lovely local items for sale and the windows face into a candle factory. The craft margarita was also delicious.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
This place is so fun. It's a great stop for coffee from GJ to telluride or ouray. I have tried their lattes and drip coffees and I am never disappointed. I can't wait to come for their cocktails and music at some point!

Yelp
Great place for breakfast and the avocado toast with the seeded bread was divine easy to talk and fun to watch the candle makers

Yelp
Great place to relax and have a drink. Breakfast is on the menu but dinners aren't yet. Still good for evening unwind Music often, and great drinks

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this cafe. Several sofas & plenty of tables/chairs. The candle making was fun to watch. The retail area had neat & unique options. We bought some loose leaf chai tea to take home to AZ. The coffee shop employees were very friendly and enjoyable to interact with. The espresso was smooth, creamy & enjoyable. My latte hit the spot. The chocolate chip cookie was tasty & the perfect consistency. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Most amazing space and had many GF friendly food options that were so tasty! Loved the mid-modern atmosphere and the shop-cafe-candle factory combination. Our server, Taylor was a delight to talk with and so helpful! Will return again when we are in town!

Cindy H.

Yelp
Delicious chicken panini served with wonderful coleslaw. Wonderful coffee. Really enjoyed.

Yelp
Small, simple but delicious and well executed menu. Large indoor space. Very helpful staff helped us find other spots in town

Yelp
What a fantastic contribution to the Montrose area and the regional dining scene. Excellent lattes, gluten free food choices, and breakfast food. The vibe is hip yet relaxed and the mercantile shopping area is fabulous too. The candles are high-quality and beautiful. It's all a win!

Amie S.

Yelp
10/10.. was great and service was awesome! It was neat watching the employees make the candles through the glass and is even a kid friendly environment. Thanks for awesome food and unbeatable hospitality. .

Tracy W.

Yelp
Expensive, but the food was very good and the barista was nice and friendly. Looks like a cool vibe local place. Great spot to shop for gifts as well. All the candles are made right on the premises.

Yelp
Great cafe, boutique and candle manufacturer! The food is simple, clean and delicious! I highly recommend the power salad. Packed with flavor, fresh and filling. The service was warm, friendly and quick. While you wait for your food you can either watch the candle makers or do a little shopping. The boutique is filled with unique handcrafted items. I came home with a beautiful scarf myself. If you are in Montrose this is a must visit!
