We did a tour at 12 p.m. on 8/30. We forgot our tour guides name🫣 but he was amazing! So knowledgeable & charming. We loved getting to learn about a new place here in Central KY. The grounds were gorgeous & I’m hoping to plan my wedding here someday! If you’re looking for a distillery tour- don’t let the newness of this place scare you off. It’s amazing! We can’t wait to go back!

Hands down the best craft distillery in Kentucky! Everyone is super down to earth and friendly. Their bourbon and whiskey flavor is very unique and amazing range of tastes on the palette. I visited them 7 years prior when all they were selling was the Blue Dog blue corn whiskey. The flavor has been memorable all these years. The blue corn is very unique. I am happy to see them producing all new bourbons and ryes now and excited to see them again when they move to bigger farm. Definitely go here if you are doing the bourbon trial, the taste of their bourbon will be unforgettable Also their cat Tipsy rocks and will lay with you while you have your tasting!

My friends and I took my husband to 4 distilleries for his birthday. The was the one we booked last minute the night before so we could stop by on our way out of town. I was excited to find someone offering a tasting at 10:30 so we could still leave town fairly early. This distillery ended up with the consensus of the best whiskey we tried in town. They loved the Midland finished in the rum barrels. We ended up walking out with a few bottles, lol. The tasting guide was great — we had a few people join us last minute, and it was interesting to hear their thoughts on the different vintages. This is a must stop in for the bourbon or whiskey lover. The best part about the distillery? They have the cutest little working kitty there, Tipsy. She will come up for loving and show off her biscuit making skills.

The new visitors center is beautiful, the bar is comfortable, staff welcoming, and bourbon nice. Two limited expressions were available and both were so good that I bought a bottle of each.

Our tour guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We really enjoyed the tasting and Steve did a great job walking us through the history of the distillery. I a purchased and bottled a great Single Barrel Cask Strength High Rye. We definitely recommend doing the tour if you are in the area!!

This was a great tour. The guide was passionate. She walked us through the process and hyped their new facility to the point we cant wait to visit! They have a adorable kitty. We got to try blue corn bourbon and it was fabulous (still sad we couldnt bottle that one, but thats ok!). We did do the bottle your own experience and it was fun!

We enjoyed this tour so much. Logan was terrific! So knowledgeable and made the experience extra fun. Love supporting small businesses that are growing. They do everything themselves which made the tour even more personal. Congrats to them on their new facility that just opened! Can’t wait to visit again!

My wife and I arrived for a 9am tour and tasting. We were met by Katie who took wonderful care of us. She gave us great information, and her bubbly personality really set the tone for the tour. Bluegrass is a new distillery, but have backing and have really put together a great operation. I'm excited to see their bright future.

Yelp
This young distillery is located off the main road but there are signs to help guide you up to the mansion and distillery. Driving up to the mansion gives old school NOLA plantation vibes. The tour check in is located in the mansion. The tour starts there as well with a bit of history of the distillery and property and a tasting of two different bourbons. It continues next store in the distillery with two more tastings along the way. We had an energetic and knowledgeable guide all to ourselves because we were there midday on a Thursday. She answered all of our questions and, due to her overall knowledge of Kentucky bourbon, helped to put perspective on their products. For the few offerings they have, they are quite diverse. But I want to return for when they have the pickled bourbon back in stock (crossing fingers it's over the holidays)!

Yelp
The tour and tasting was great but the best part of all was being able to fill my own bottle directly from a barrel with some of the best bourbon around even got to put on my own label seal it and sign it.

Yelp
Tom was our tour guide. He was super knowledgeable and had a lot of great advice for bourbon drinkers regarding sipping techniques and flavor notes. We truly enjoyed our trip to Elkwood Farm. We visited the downtown location (closed in June '25) several times and Bluegrass Distillers NEVER disappoints. Highly recommend your next stop on your Bourbon adventure is Bluegrass.

Yelp
Attended the Bluegrass Trust July D'tour last night. It is likely you've passed this historical property while traveling Leestown Road, not knowing it is there. Elkwood Farm, circa mid 1830's, is now the home of Bluegrass Distillers. A sojourn into Kentucky history, I recommend a visit. 57

Yelp
Wow! Had a fun time here tasting some delicious new bourbon! The host was gracious, polite, and very entertaining! We got a lot of the interesting history of the site along with the history of the company, and future plans to include a cool tour on the property! Too bad we missed that, but it is a reason to come back! Had a great time here!

Yelp
The property is lovely! Loved the restored historic home. It was the perfect place for the initial tasting! The guide and other staff were friendly and inviting! They were attentive to details...remembering my husband had a birthday! The bar is very nice and the bartenders were also exceptionally nice and accommodating!

Yelp
Elkwood farm is the new home of Bluegrass Distillers. It is located in beautiful rolling hills outside the picturesque town of Midway. The farm has a mansion from built in the 1830's. There are big plans for this property including a cafe and gardens. Right now the distillery is getting finishing touches and the mansion is being refurbished. Scott, our tasting guide did an exceptional job of giving us the history of the property and of Bluegrass bourbons. Definitely worth a stop.

Yelp
This might our new favorite interactive bourbon tour in KY and definitely our favorite welcome from Tipsy the cat living in the historical registered house. This Midway, KY gem just recently FULLY opened this beautiful location and you have the chance to bottle your own bourbon right from the barrel. You put on the label with barrel number, proof and bottle number - all for no extra cost. We took the Bluegrass Tour which included multiple tastings. They were all very friendly and they have lots of ideas on how they might expand in the future. We will be back!

Yelp
Love the tasting experience. The nice young lady who walked us thru each pour was fantastic! Knowledgeable, courteous, and kind. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Yelp
We have been to Bluegrass several times at their original location and always had a great experience. We were excited today to visit the new location. We were greeted by a sign saying they were out on a tour and to go to the gift shop. We found our way to the gift shop not knowing where we were going at this new location on a cold day. We found the gift shop and it was empty. We waited 15 minutes sitting at the bar as we could hear people in the distillery. When a gentleman finally came in with 2 people on the tour he looked upset that the 6 people in our group were sitting there. He did not want to help us with a cocktail, tasting or merchandise purchase so we left. Very disappointing from a place we have always loved.
