Google
Look like a very nice train museum. I don't fortunately. It was close when we got there, but I didn't notice that they have tracked bicycles tours, which was pretty cool $50 Per person.

Google
It doesn't say how long the ride is on the main page, but it's listed at 90 minutes for the Saturday pumpkin patch ride. We left at 230 and got back close to 5. We got the first class car which was air condition so it was a pleasant ride. You stop at the end of the track and get to look out over the old rail crossing bridge for about 15 minutes. Then hit the pumpkin patch on the way back for about 30 minutes. The seats are comfy and you are provided some history along the way. If you want a train ride for the first time then I highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I went for the scenic, open-air train ride from the station all the way to the KY River. The trip was awesome and had some great views. The open air had some pretty hard benches so maybe consider the coach option if that wouldn't work for you. The train engine, train horn, and track squealing noises were also very loud in that section which was fine for us but we didn't really think about that before hand. The train went to the KY River, stopped for about 10 minutes, then reverses back to a pumpkin patch and stopped there for about 20 minutes before returning to the station. All in all, ot was a cute little date with the wife. The museum was really small but still really cool, too!

Google
A lot of fun. It's a well run organization. The safety speech is cheesy and entertaining. The cars are mostly comfortable (except the lap belt which digs into your thigh after a while). There's a nice break halfway through while they turn the cars around. We did the twilight tour so we rode back in the dark. Very cool. Would like to do this again.

Google
The rail explorers trip was great. I'm not in the best shape, and peddling the cart was incredibly simple. The motors kicked in on the rotation of the pedal, so there was little to no resistance when peddling. On the way out, most of the trip is slightly downhill, so I just enjoyed the ride. The way back required a little more peddling, but again, it was minimal effort. It was a quiet, beautiful trip with good scenery and a beautiful view at the end. Would definitely return for another trip and will actively seek out the other locations.

Google
Great ride on the train, but views were blocked by brush all along the route. The station had kid friendly exhibits. My grandkids loved it.

Google
Wonderful experience, highly recommended if you love the outdoors

Google
This is a very small museum, but it was still a delightful stop on our way to our destination. The staff were friendly and engaging. The exhibits were interactive and my kids enjoyed exploring the train cars. We missed the train ride, but I'm sure our family would have loved it if we had the time. They offer a couple different departure times, so plan ahead if you want tickets

Yelp
Fun for our 3 year old grandson. We brought snacks for the trip! Central KY needs to go visit.

Yelp
With the exception of some growth along the railroad tracks on some of the route it was a pleasant 1 1/2 hour ride. This is an all volunteer staff(very friendly) that operates the Saturday morning and afternoon excursions. You pass some horse farms and gentle rolling hills culminating in a stop at a stunning view of an old trestle bridge over the Kentucky River. The bridge deemed unsafe for railroad travel is used for bungee jumping now believe it or not. At $20 for first class in an air conditioned car(lower for other options) plus a small museum of old railroad memorabilia it was an inexpensive way to spend the day. The one downside is that there is no bathrooms on the train so remember to go before you leave. Also, perhaps spend some time in downtown Versailles visiting the cute shops and the coffee shop there.

Yelp
I was very underwhelmed. I had seen this as a must see on a FB "must see" KY road trips. We decided to surprise my parents and do a family trip. I do not feel there was really "anything" to this. But I must admit, I may be a bit tainted because I have been on other much more interactive train ride. That being said. The gentleman who gave details and shared historical tidbits was very knowledgeable.

Yelp
Looking for something new to do on Labor Day weekend (also our Anniversary weekend), my wife ran across the Bluegrass Railroad Museum. We've always loved doing things that are train-related, so this was an easy decision. Riding the train? Even better, as I've always loved train travel. They have the coach, first class, and the new open-air cars. Those looked awesome, but since it was our anniversary weekend we were looking for a bit more. "A bit more" meant we got to rid in The Cab with the engineers! It was a totally awesome experience, sitting, literally, at the front of the train with the guys making the thing go. As I recall the engineers were Robert and Steve, and were really nice guys. They were funny and informative, and it was cool to see the "behind the scenes" while the train was in motion. The Cab wasn't as big as I expected it to be and the controls weren't really high-tech, then again this was a pretty vintage engine. It was fun as we heard them calling out commands and statuses to each other and with the conductor at the rear of the train. The scenery along the way is beautiful. Horse farms and rolling fields make for post-card ready photographs, and the limestone cuts along the way make you realize just how much work went into getting the track built back during the civil war. We were also told that, while the railroad ties are replaced very 25 years, the iron rails are still the original rails that were laid back then. Once we got to the end of the track we ended up at the Kentucky River, which was seriously cool. While it's no longer viable for river crossings it's still an awesome thing to see. We stopped there for about 15 minutes to take pictures and to take in the scenery. Back on board the train and now the Engine is pushing the train from the rear and the engineers and conductor continued their calls, making sure things were moving safely. Once back at the station it was time to disembark and visit the museum and gift shop, which doubles as the ticket booth. They have a nice array of souvenirs to chose from for anyone at any age. The museum is a bit on the small side compared to others we've been to, but at the same time it's perfectly sized for their operation. There is also a model train exhibit in one of the stationary rail cars, and a few other cars to check out on the grounds. We really enjoyed our visit and train ride - especially riding in The Cab - and we'll be back again. Looking at other reviews it makes absolutely no sense why someone would give this a 1-star rating because it was, in every sense, and absolutely awesome experience.

Yelp
Nice ride - good time. Good family fun. I definitely recommend the open car. Very relaxing.

Yelp
We love, love this little museum and train ride. The company is always doing something festive for every holiday! We are exceptionally thankful for the Christmas ride. Conductor Glenn is the best!

Yelp
It was a cute experience here in the bluegrass but to be completely honest, my crew thought that it was the most boring thing ever. I thought that it was neat that we would ride the train but it's not something we will do twice.

Yelp
Looking forward to the Bluegrass Railroad Ride. It is about an hour and a half. It is a beautiful day. We bought tickets in first class so basically we rode in an air conditioning car! Built in 1939 reaching Speeds of 10 mph.

Yelp
We love the pumpkin train! It has become a family tradition and we are so thankful to have something so special locally.

Yelp
Old fashioned fun in the Bluegrass! We love trains so we had to come out and check out this little train. There are more cars on this train than I had imagined. The first car is the first class seating. For a few extra bucks, you get Amtrak style seats plus AC/heat instead of "vintage" school bus seating in the regular cars. We first made a stop at the end of the line at the old railroad bridge. Everyone got off to gaze at the old bridge and the crazy folks who are bungee jumping off the bridge. Then we made another stop at the "pumpkin patch". It had looked so small and insignificant on the way up I almost did not get off the train. But I am glad we made the stop. There is a lively little pumpkin patch selling pumpkins, hot chocolates and even a bonfire for marshmallow roasting. This one horse from the Life Adventure Center across the road even came up to the fence to mug for the camera. I swear I saw him giving us different poses. The wood fire, the pumpkins and horses completed this little fall outing for us.

Yelp
We found this to be a pretty nice afternoon! We participated in the civil war train this day. The actors were so much fun! The train ride itself was very relaxing. We rode in the air conditioned car. 4 person seating is limited so if you want the 4 person seating, get on early! The views weren't really much. A few glimpses of a horse farm, a lot of weeds, peoples houses and it ends at a non functioning old bridge, then goes in reverse back. We will do it again for the Santa train when the baby is a little older. The museum part is small but really neat. I recommend eating at Wallace station first. Food is AMAZING. No bathrooms on the train!

Yelp
We booked our tickets online for a coach ride on the rail. Even though there is no AC in coach, it was very pleasant. The windows were up and the fans were on high. I think the engineer called it a 15/40 ride - 15mph, 40 windows up. The windows up gave us a better view. I'm glad we chose this option. 2 tips - sit on the north side of the train going and coming - it's a much better view (right side if you're facing first class) and lift the back of the seat up to change the direction you're seated for the ride back. No instructions. A fellow passenger told us. It'll make sense when you're on board. It was a fun little day trip - about 45 min to Tyrone bridge then 45 min back. Pleasant people running the show including a historical narrative on the way to Tyrone bridge. Well worth the price of admission.

Yelp
Scenic... I think not I'm so sad to say this train ride was a wreck. You spend 90% of your time looking at weeds higher than the train in a woods. You occasionally get a glimpse of a horse farm. We were in ' first class but that only means air condition ride. Just a very sad effort to show what a train ride is in Kentucky. It does nothing to make you fall in love with our beautiful state. My son came in from St Louis and I have apologized a half a dozen times to him for wasting his time and his family's time on Father's Day. He could have been almost home rather than do the train ride. Again I'm sorry to say this is in no way a Scenic Train ride as advertised. Riding a slow train through a woods with ten foot tall weeds for 5 mile each way is not a good use of your time. There are too many ways to spend your time on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the lovely sate of Kentucky. Bluegrass Railroad you are way off track.

Yelp
Had a terrific time with my family at the train museum. It was great. It is a slow moving train going down rural areas so folks should be prepared for what that means but it was everything our family expected and wanted. I recommend it.

Cindy S.

Yelp
Enjoyed our ride! Also learned some Kentucky history from the conductor which was interesting. Everyone who worked there was friendly. And the train car itself was very clean. All in all it was a great experience.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed the Bluegrass Railroad Museum & train ride! I'm glad we paid a little extra to be in the first class cars with air conditioning. The senior conductor that spoke during the first portion of the ride was very informative & knowledgeable. The high school students that sang songs from the 50s & 60s were the icing on the cake! The really sounded like Etta James and the Coasters, Drifters & Platters! I think everyone should experience this treasure located in Versailles.

Yelp
After exploring the Internet for places and things that we haven't experienced, I came across this hidden Kentucky adventure/train ride. We booked online for $11.50 each ticket + $1.00 service fee. We arrived 30 minutes early and were allowed to board. It wasn't as crowded as it was portrayed online which may've been because we didn't come on one of the "special days"...such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, Ronald McDonald Day, reenactments, etc. I don't know why, but I didn't expect so many kids to be aboard...Ones with their grandparents, the ones running around, blowing whistles from the gift shop...you get my drift. Sooo, we paid an extra $5.00 and moved up to "1st class"...which I highly recommend. There weren't as many kids and the seats are more like plane seats instead of school bus seats, which makes the 90 minute trip more comfortable. All of the employees are very informative volunteers and really have a passion for the railway. The end is at the Kentucky River, up to the only railway bridge in the world that has never been modified. Across the bridge is the Wild Turkey Distillery. At the bridge, we got off of the train for about 5 minutes...quite a good photo op. The train could use a makeover but I guess there isn't enough money after mechanical maintenance, fuel, etc. They explained that they receive out of state donations from people who have a passion for in rare railways. http://www.bluegrassrailroad.com/

Yelp
Yes! Five stars. The trains are historic and the museum is chocked full of neat train artifacts. Take an early spring ride and enjoy the scenery. Tyrone bridge is a sight to see! The conductors give a lovely story about the history of the rail line and the cars. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. You can even pay to ride with the engineer. But their speciality trains are so neat! Been to several events including Halloween train, Civil War, Murder mystery, Christmas Santa train and one of the coolest, The Leviathan, Abe Lincoln's funeral train! This is a don't miss place!

Yelp
at first i thought the train was gonna go faster and a longer ways than we went...it kinda was like a ride at disney world or something...the train cars have alot of history and was fun to be in...i road in the coach section cause i chose to ..wanted to be were the windows was down...maybe try the first class another time..over all a fun little place
