23 Best Bars in Barcelona

"As you make your way down the hidden flight of stairs from the imposing lobby of El Palace Barcelona, it's not so much like stepping onto a different floor of the hotel as right into a time warp. With its sultry red walls and velvet-clad armchairs, waiters in black suits balancing trays of Old Fashioneds and Manhattans and live jazz band jamming on the stage, the only proof that we are, in fact, not in the 1920s is (thankfully) the absence of a thick cloud of cigarette smoke in the air. The staff at this joint really know their booze. It's the kind of spot where the words "a Negroni, please" will be met with “classic, sbagliato, spritz, or Mezcal?” There are signature cocktails too, but with classics this good, why bother? Bluesman is the kind of spot where you never know what might happen or who you might spot. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is not only a regular guest at the hotel—so much so that one of the suites is named after him—he has even been known to take to the stage here to jam with the band (or so the legend goes). While you may not catch a glimpse of the rock legend himself, you can still admire the artwork that he donated to the General Manager of the hotel as a token of his appreciation." - Isabelle Kliger, Naren Young

Bluesman Cocktail Bar — Bar Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"First impression? As you make your way down the hidden flight of stairs from the imposing lobby of El Palace Barcelona , it's not so much like stepping onto a different floor of the hotel as right into a time warp. How’s the crowd? Survey 100 Barcelonians and I'd wager 99 of them don't know Bluesman exists. Those who do keep it to themselves. The crowd is a mix of hotel guests from El Palace, in-the-know jazz aficionados and the occasional celebrity looking for a discreet spot to have a drink. How are the drinks? The staff at this joint really know their booze. It's the kind spot where the words "a Negroni, please" will be met with "classic, sbagliato, spritz or Mezcal?". There are signature cocktails too, but with classics this good, why bother? If there’s food, is it worth ordering something to eat? Bar snacks of nuts and potato chips are served with every drink and you can also order plates of Iberian ham or a cheese platter if you wish - but most people just come here for the drinks and the live music. Did the staff do you right? The team are attentive and knowledgable. Simply tell them your poison and relax. Wrap it up: what are we coming here for? Bluesman is the kind of spot where you never know what might happen or who you might spot. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is not only a regular guest at the hotel—so much so that one of the suites is named after him—he has even been known to take to the stage here to jam with the band (or so the legend goes). While you may not catch a glimpse of the rock legend himself, you can still admire the artwork that he donated to the General Manager of the hotel as a token of his appreciation." - Isabelle Kliger

This is the coolest cigar lounge/bar in Spain. It has live music, the drinks and staff were awesome. We met the general manager Wilmien, she's great, and she told us a little bit of the history of the place. It was very fascinating. She also helped us pick out some cigars. It was an awesome experience. Shout out to our waiter Pablo, he made sure we always had drinks.

The Bluesman cocktail bar is a luxurious and cozy bar with thickly cushioned chairs clustered around low round cocktail tables. There is a small stage for their terrific nightly jazz act, as well as for special acts, like the fabulous comedienne Michelle Wolf, whom we had the pleasure to hear recently. Service is provided by polished multi-lingual servers who brandish English, French, Spanish and Catalan with equal ease. The drinks we ordered were perfectly concocted. The beverages menu had a plethora of specially-crafted cocktails as well as all the standards.

Be warned if you're not white. We went to the cigar lounge. There wasn't much of a selection for cigars. But the service was horrid. We are of an ethnic background and the server was giving us dirty looks the entire time we were there. They gave us the matches that weren't even matches, they were empty. Not any respect. Treated us like we were beneath them. The atmosphere was great though. But the other guests were also also laughing at us. This isn't how you treat your clients. Do better.

We had a great evening with excellent entertainment and outstanding service! The selection of drinks is very varied!

Live Jazz, cigar lounge, finely prepared cocktails, set for a night of luxury. It’s not a casual bar you can just stumble upon by chance. Sets under an iconic five star hotel, this upscale establishment definitely gives a night to remember! Definitely one of the best place to celebrate a special night.

Poor service. Not sure if the waiters have experience and if there’s manager or trainer there cares!

Went there to see Michele Wolff podcast. Great atmosphere, loved the cocktails prepared by the bartenders. Will definitely return.
