Bluestone On George

What did we like? Everything- this place takes great pride in what they do! From parking on site with the beautfiully presented garden area (but be ready for a hill park) to the friendly staff, the elevator to our floor, the beautifully appointed, sparkling clean rooms, very comfortable bed, with a pretty groovy kitchen for a motel! The bathroom was spotless with a spabath/shower (so need to step in) with nice soaps/shampoos. Also had a condenser washer/dryer which we were very grateful for (plus a sweet little drying rack if dryers aren’t your thing). Communal sitting rooms were stylish and brigh and very inviting -especially with a drinks menu! There was a great little gym too! The location is very near to a fair few cafe/restaurants- easy walking distance. Overwhelmingly it seems to be a student area with lots of life and positive energy. but there are just a few ‘dodgy characters’ as we see in all cities now. However, the Bluestone stands out as beautiful modern property in an area of really classic large old homes- gave me San Francisco vibes! I feel nothing would have been too big an ask for the staff, they were very helpful, but everything you would expect in a motel was catered for, and more. A truly lovely place to stay!

A beautiful boutique motel in Dunedin.||This lovely accommodation is in an excellent location, has complimentary car parking, along with stylish decor, balcony and fantastic views (from the high floors) over Dunedin.||It's the little extras provided such as - bathrobes, underfloor heating in the bathroom, Elemis toiletries, choice of pillows and lots more.||The rooms were well laid out and very clean. The grounds were lovely with lots of outdoor areas to sit and a lovely communal lounge and waiting area. ||I was able to check in early which was a big bonus and the staff were helpful and welcoming.

We loved our 6 night stay here. The spotlessly clean and modern apartment was easy to keep warm due to a very efficient wall heater plus the underfloor heating in the spacious bathroom. The kitchenette was well stocked and we made use of the washer/dryer. I found the bed and pillows very comfortable and just loved the feel of the whole place. There is good off-street parking, and Bluestone is very central so we walked to most places that we wanted to visit. The Governor's Cafe quickly became my favourite and that was only 500m away. We highly recommend Bluestone On George as a fantastic place to stay.

Modern and well-equiped room in a fantastic location. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the train station. Would stay here again and would recommend. People with mobility issues should note that the car park is on a steep incline and getting suitcases in and out of cars is challenging.

Fantastic accomodation. So well designed. So clean. When the room is serviced daily it is spotlessly clean. Vacuumed, buffed vanity and taps, fresh towels if you want them and oh so lovely and warm when you arrive. I can’t recommend the Bluestone on George highly enough.

This place is immaculate and the attention to detail is amazing. Leaving early on a cold frosty morning I thought one of the staff had missed a beat and left cleaning materials outside by the front door till I realized it was a bucket of warm water, a squiggly and an ice scraper for the windscreen. They have truly thought of everything to make your stay the best it can be.

This is not really a hotel but more of a motel experience, and while we asked specifically for a quiet room it backed on to student digs that was rowdy and unpleasant until the early hours of the morning. Room also did not match up to the expectations of a loft apartment including the kitchen facilities and size.
