Bluestone On George

Exceptionally clean and very well maintained. Decor is lovely and modern and furnishings very comfortable. The guest lounge area was also exceptionally clean with no grubby marks on the lounges or chairs ...unusual in common areas. The grounds were also well maintained with beautiful gardens and lovely seating areas. Neville and Sandra very friendly and welcoming and the couple of staff we came across were lovely and seemed very happy in their roles. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay and we would highly recommend staying here. Don't bother looking anywhere else.

Loved this hotel. The room was designed and laid out perfectly. The bed and pillows were great. The bathroom was awesome. Everything about this hotel exceeded expectations. Would 100% stay here again if in Dunedin.

Stayed at Bluestone for 3 nights and enjoyed their hospitality. The room was modern, clean, and located just up the street from the George street restaurants and pubs. Close to the University so had a college vibe. The town is very nice - we had some nice dinners (Plato for seafood!) and enjoyed an hour cruise on Otago Peninsula for some albatross viewing. St Clair beach was also very impressive. Make sure you do the walk up Baldwin Street also.

Loved our three night stay at Bluestone On George. Our room was on the third floor with a small balcony. Location was very walkable to nearby restaurants and the Octagon though walking up from the street to the hotel entrance can be a little steep for some. Convenient On-Site parking. Our room was impeccably clean and comfortable. Location is convenient to visiting nearby sites and reasonable drives to Moeraki, The Royal Albatross Centre, etc. or a nice days outing to Nugget Point Lighthouse.

Absolutely fabulous stay. The place is so clean and the room was fantastic with great amenities. The spa bath was amazing with Elemis toiletries. We stayed 2 nights and this was probably one of the nicest place we stayed on our travels around NZ.

We had a warm welcome when we arrived and the room was ready. The room was very clean and spacious and had everything you needed for a two night stay. The spa bath was lovely and plenty of towels were provided. It isn’t quite as close to the centre of Dunedin than stated and although we knew Dunedin is a university town Bluestone is right in the student area hence the loud music and shouting until 11 pm one evening. Our room also overlooked student houses which wasn’t pleasant. If I was a solo traveller personally I would not feel comfortable walking in that area late at night hence the 4 stars

We stayed for three nights at Bluestone on George and were thoroughly impressed by our experience. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of central Dunedin and provides easy access to local dining establishments. Complimentary on-site parking is also available. The staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous, offering valuable tips about the local area.|Our suite was spacious and furnished with high-quality appliances and amenities. It was impeccably clean, quiet and well-appointed, with even the toiletries being of premium quality.|Overall, we found our stay highly enjoyable and would confidently recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dunedin.

Very nice "motel" with front desk and three floors (and an elevator). We booked a studio room on the upper floor which was nicely furnished and had a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker (a pot in which you place a provided coffee bag and pour hot water over), and a combination washer/dryer. As we had our own ground coffee, we requested a french press to use. Very nice dishware and silverware. Spotless room, nice bathroom with in-floor heating, comfortable bed with lots of pillows (some down filled and some hypoallergenic). Also a small balcony with views. Free parking in their lot. Neville, the manager was very helpful and available. Didn't meet his wife, Sandra.
