Mixed Experience: Attentive Staff, But Safety & Pricing Need Clarity We recently visited the island for a day trip. Our experience was mixed, highlighted by excellent customer service but marred by safety concerns and confusion over the included amenities. The Positives The staff provided a genuinely warm welcome upon our arrival and departure, which was sincerely appreciated. The day visit package cost P2,000 per person, which included boat transfer, a towel, mask, snorkel, and a plated a la carte lunch with main course choices. The boat ride was enjoyable, and we felt secure thanks to the attentive crew member who actively watched over the passengers. On a side note, I spent some time voluntarily clearing plastic debris (shampoo sachets, cups, biscuit lids, and wood) from the shoreline, which seemed to be residue from the recent storm, Tino. While I didn't mind helping the environment, future guests should be aware that the beach may require some personal cleanup. Areas for Improvement Safety and Equipment Fees: This was the most significant issue. The waves were quite strong, and unfortunately, I was knocked down, resulting in scraped legs from the coral. The staff were attentive and immediately cleaned and treated my wound, providing a life vest. However, swimming shoes were necessary for safety but were not provided initially. Following the injury, I was charged P200 for a pair of old, worn-out swimming shoes. This charge was frustrating as the P2,000 package already included a mask, snorkel, and towel—none of which I used. Given the safety risk posed by the coral, essential footwear should either be mandatory and included in the package, or clearly available without an unexpected fee, especially after an accident. Limited Amenities: A minor disappointment was the limited access to the pool. Day visitors are restricted from using the pool until 12 PM, which significantly reduced the time available to enjoy that amenity. Summary The island offers friendly service and a pleasant boat ride. However, we strongly recommend that management re-evaluate the provision of safety equipment (like swim shoes), ensure transparent pricing for all rentals, and clearly communicate the pool's restricted hours to day visitors. We appreciate the prompt attention given to the injury, but better preventative safety measures and clearer package inclusions would significantly improve the overall visitor experience.

We had a day tour, no accommodations but comes with buffet lunch. We took the early schedule 8am-3am. We arrived at the Island with just few guest. We enjoyed the sandbar alone until the next schedule trip arrived which is the 10am. Maybe due to off season, there are not so many guest. Almost everyone are foreign. The weather was moody that day. We arrived with a scorching hot morning, it went cloudy at noon and it rained while we're having lunch. There's still drizzle later that day but we enjoyed both the beach and pools. There's free towel and we can snorkel on our own. Snorkling with a guide requires additional payment but you can go to more areas unlike doing it alone only in a designated area. If you don't have a go pro, you can rent one. The guide takes wonderful pics and videos.

It is a looooong drive going there, but the views were amazing and water around the island was very clear and clean. Buuut.... 1. Sooo many mosquitoes. 2. The red ants were big and vicious. 3. Not child friendly at all.. 4. The beach was very rocky. 5. Very costly trip.

The package day tour includes set meals and its really worth it the price, however the service to the boat is a little bit off and disappointing especially for day tour tourist. The service is in 2hrs interval 8,10 & 12. So better catch those timings for u to stay longer on the island. In all still a good tour at that hotel, the sandbar is really magnificent and the water is so clear and bright. The only downside of this tour is the service boat.

Due to the Bluewater membership, we were able to get the romantic getaway package. It was so fun! There were more food than we needed and overall such a great escape from the city without having to travel far. I also availed their Baskets and Bites set-up, it was such a great idea to make it more special and very relaxing too. The food was great. I chose the filipino cuisine and had it set-up at the Glamping area. We fell asleep with the sound of the waves! They also have Grotto!

I stayed at the hotel for three nights. It was a 4.5-hour drive from Cebu Mactan International Airport, arriving at 10:35 AM. A private hotel shuttle was 5,500 pesos, and the last boat was at 4:00 PM. We arrived at 3:20 PM. A boat could depart until 6:00 PM for an additional 3,500 pesos, but they required permission from the Coast Guard, so I had to call ahead. I considered staying at a hotel near Oslob, considering I might not make it, but I managed to make it. Getting there was quite a challenge, but I was impressed by the beauty of the ocean and the abundance of fish, rivaling even the Maldives. The quality of the hotel and the food were average.

If I was on a different resort island, the stars given might be less, but this is Cebu and there aren't much options outside of Mactan. The resort is a bit dated, but service is very good, food is not worse than other places in Cebu and the marine sanctuary is all around you. For the first night, I booked a tent, but upon looking at it, I asked for any available room. And they graciously found me semi detached room 5 in front of the ocean. The room, spacious bathroom and patio were all very adequate. The next day, I moved to a one bedroom pool villa. The pool was a bit small, but the spacious garden overlooking the ocean was secluded and peaceful. If you do come here, reserve the semi detached rooms 1 to 10. I think the rooms are better than the villa and the patio in front of the ocean is especially nice.

Yelp
Near the whale sharks swimming excursion. Take a 20 min ferry ride to the island. It is very much like a white lotus resort if you watch that show. Stayed in the Tukki villa. Beautiful view of the ocean, private swimming pool, nice bathroom and accommodations. Slippers and bathrobe. Soap was citronella scented to help keep bugs away. Shampoo and conditioner. Bring your own lotion, they didn't provide that in room. The resort has infiniti pool, hot tub, snorkeling in the ocean. They provide snorkel and life jacket, fins are an extra cost. In the Lagoon, there is kayaking, fishing (catch and release with bamboo poles) in the pond. Small fish, they will give you bread to bait the hooks. Service was exceptional! Very memorable occasion. It was beautiful in so many ways.

Yelp
We happen to go to this Resort by mistake. We showed up on Good Friday to the Philippines from Los Angeles, the government decided they wanted to close everything down that day last minute. But this resort was still open. Our tour guide took us there and the drinks are good the people were nice the food was good The View spectacular. Watch out for those jellies though the water is filled with them. That's not the Resort's fault Mother Nature is to blame. Definitely spend the day here if you have a day if you're in cebu.

Yelp
There are many BEAUTIFUL islands in the Philippines. Sumilon Island is one of them. We had the pleasure of visiting Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort after swimming with the whale sharks. You can choose to spend your nights at their accomodations or do a daytrip here. We did the latter. The daytrip costs about 2500 Php ($50 USD) per person. It includes the roundtrip boat ride from the mainland to the island, welcome drink, parking, lunch buffet, and all kinds of activities. Folks were kayaking, pedal boating, hiking, fishing, snorkeling, and swimming. What did I enjoy the most? I really liked the lunch buffet. So much yummy Filipino food! Before and after eating, I was having a wonderful time lounging in one of the hammocks by the beach. Talk about relaxing!! Absolutely, go to Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort if you find yourself in this part of the Philippines. I look forward to returning for a longer visit in the future. Worthy of 5 Stars plus more!!!!

Yelp
One of many beautiful islands of the Philippines; this one is Cebu. The ride from the main city is a few hours away but you get to see Cebu and what it offers. It almost reminds me of Hawaii. It's best to have an agent book this activity or resort stay for you. When you come to this meet up place, you lounge around by the beach, they give you free iced tea and watch a video introduction before taking a 30 min boat to the island. The boat ride can be choppy and I would sit in the back of the boat so you won't be spattered with water. There is an entrance fee to do some activities on Sumilon Island or stay a few nIghts in this small island. It's great for relaxation to just swim in the clear blue water, kayaking, paddle boating, snorkeling, trekking or swimming in their small pool. There restaurant buffet is pretty good with all the exotic foods from the Philippines and some others. The staff from the boat to the people on the island were helpful, friendly and very accommodating. I would totally recommend to visit the Sumilon island. [7/100]

Yelp
Absolutely breathtaking island I'm cebu. We took a small boat ride over about 10 minutes. We were greeted My the lovely manager levie who was very friendly and welcoming. Try to get here early so you can get to the sand bar which you can walk over to or take a short shuttle! The infinity pool is gorgeous and so relaxing. We also went to see the baby sharks feeding and did some snorkeling. I would highly recommend coming here and next time I will be staying definitely.
