Bluff Beach Retreat

Bluff Beach Retreat is an absolute paradise! Augusto was amazing—he made everything so easy for us and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay. The retreat itself is stunning, surrounded by nature and just steps from the beach. It’s the perfect place to unwind, disconnect, and feel a genuine sense of community. And Nicole’s cooking? Absolutely incredible! Every meal was delicious, and we’ve been missing her cooking every day since we left. If you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful getaway with warm hospitality and amazing food, Bluff Beach Retreat is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!

We just returned from a week long yoga retreat and it was FANTASTIC! This place is truly magical and I cannot recommend it enough. There are monkeys and sloths everywhere, the food was amazing, the facilities are beautiful and well kept. Augusto and Nicole were amazing. An easy 5 star review!

This is a beautiful, well run resort. The on site managers, Augusto and Anita, are absolutely wonderful and provide outstanding service, care of guests, and management of the facility and staff. Ron, the owner, provided fantastic pre-stay information and organized airport pick ups. Breakfasts by Anita are delicious and she varies the special local dishes she makes along with custom egg offerings and plenty of fresh local fruit and juice. Augusto is wonderful in sharing his knowledge of the area and generally providing care and concierge services. All the staff we met were polite, well-trained, and courteous. The setting - across from the beach, yet in the rainforest is gorgeous with sloths and parrots and monkeys hanging out in the beautiful gardens. The lap pool is a great addition, as are the yoga platform and massage studio, both open air and surrounded by rainforest. The facilities are simple but elegant and the fans provide enough ventilation that AC is not needed and would imho spoil the jungle living. There were no mosquitoes or bugs of any kind. There is good food close by at a number of places but the View was particularly good. If you don’t want to cook there is food available there within a five minute walk for both lunch and dinner with more good food available within a 10-15 minute beach walk or a 5 minute bike ride. My only issue is that it is not an adult-only resort and therefore not what would generally be considered a retreat but we knew that before we went and are not complaining. This is really a comment for future visitors. There were some pretty noisy small children belonging to guests running around at breakfast and at the pool most of our stay. The host’s son is quiet and well behaved and was not one of them. We were thankfully away from the main house in the Playa Casita but could still hear children screaming at the pool at regular intervals and during breakfast. Even so I still consider this an outstanding five star resort and would not hesitate to go back. Thanks to everyone for making our stay there so fantastic

My heart hurts when seeing the photos of this magical place again. We (family of 4, kids 16 and 19yo) stayed here for nearly a week and we loved every second. The surroundings are so lucious and green, jungle to the beach, all kinds of birds, and wildlife surrounding the house. From sloths, to monkeys, to lizards, hummingbirds, and the oh so peculiar-sounding Montezumaoropendula (look it up). The beach was nearly empty, water clear and warm and if you're done with salt water, there's a swimming pool to dip into. On top of that, the management and staff are super friendly. I'm having a hard time finding anything negative to say, except for the fact that I miss it too much and want to go back. Of all places in Panama we stayed during our 4 week trip, this one may well have made the most the most lasting impression: heaven! Thank you Augusto et al.

This place is absolutely beautiful, sadly we were only able to stay two nights. We didn't explore much of the property as we spent most of our time on the beach and in the pool. Martin along with his helpers and the ladies in the kitchen were so helpful and kind. I can't say enough about how easy it was to relax.

Bluff retreat was just what our family needed to recharge and disconnect from the frantic pace of daily life. Beautiful rooms with no TV and waking up to the sound of the crashing waves each day - could not get more tranquilo. The buffet was fantastic and we cooked our own meals and made lunches several different days. Our hosts Augusto and Jenn were friendly and welcomed us like family - helped us to arrange a snorkeling excursion, loaned me some fins for boogey, and the farm tour was great. The only downside was a filming crew nearby that limited access to some of the further portion of Bluff Beach. Friendly for families and couples and not so far down bluff beach that it takes forever to make a trip to town.

Bluff Beach Retreat is not easy to get to, but is totally worth the effort! It is located right across a dirt road from a beautiful beach. From our casita we could hear the crashing waves all night long! Every day we saw capuchin monkeys jumping through the trees and enjoying the papaya. We saw sloths, parakeets and howler monkeys as well. The setting is gorgeous and the casita we stayed in was lovely - clean, modern and very comfortable. |We had all our meals there and they were fantastic! every meal was expertly prepared and delicious. |Augusto was wonderful at arranging our excursions (snorkeling, a trip to starfish beach and a catamaran sail at sunset). He was available for all questions and took care of all our needs.

Imagine eating a world class breakfast dotted with Panamanian and Argentine flavors combined with creative egg dishes, coconut bread, local fresh fruit that grew all over|| …while watching cappuccino monkeys play in the trees or a sloth slothing around looking for food… Birds merrily chipping with excitement of the new day…the sun rising just beyond the palm trees and vegetation that surrounds the outdoor dining room. ||Just feet from the sand Beach Bluff is not to be missed. With manager Augusto there to recommend tours and help you plan your fabulous days.. and use his local connections to make sure taxis take you and pick you up…. Anita I will never forget your exquisite morning coffee laced with just a bit of cacao…MUY RICO! …your yummy breakfasts…and your charm and availability to connect and share about Panamanian and South American culture … and chef Nicolle’s fabulous desserts and creativity. ||Beautiful rooms, fluffy towels, fantastic showers, lap pool, maintained bicycles with which to explore.||I was there for a yoga retreat…every day yoga in the open air, roofed. Studio that felt like a tree house With wildlife activity all around us. ||The place is impeccable and all of the staff contributes to a well run hote that marries the authentic jungle+beach unspoiled feel of Bocas, while delivering a world-class intimate resort experience. ||10 stars!
