We were in town visiting from Chicago and cannot say enough good things about this place! Immediate immaculate vibes on walking in. Patrons were friendly and everyone working was helpful and kind. We felt comfortable and at home. We tried the Gina and Tina cocktail and it did not disappoint. Jody completely crushed it DJing the evening! It was a perfect night. We will be back again any time we are in Denver! Highly recommend.

Google
Alex and Jack were lovely bartenders. It felt so nice to be in a queer space. Very welcoming and engaging conversation :)

Google
Walked in and Jody immediately made me feel at home, mixed a great margarita, saw into my soul and I ended up having a great time. Everyone that came in was great, if I lived in Denver there I’d definitely make that my regular bar. But I’ll have to settle for stopping in next time in visiting. 10/10. Would highly recommend 🙌🏽

My wife and I came from New Orleans popped in on out Friday night here. Turns out the owner served us, we felt so welcome. The bar was a great environment. The owner was super nice and gave us tons of recs and made for easy conversation with us. We plan to go back every night until we leave. So great to have a safe queer space to feel welcomed in.

Google
Brought our out of town guests from DC here on a Saturday night. We are a diverse crowd and all of us felt completely welcome. We always try to support local. Jody was very gracious and gave us the full tour. The crowd was fantastic. We loved the karaoke and Jody's personally made expresso martinis!! We'll be adding Blush N Blu as part of our weekend plans from now on.

Google
Blush & Blu is a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for queer people of all ages and walks of life. The manager Amber is kind, warm, and a very talented DJ who everyone should get to know. The atmosphere is great and the drinks are delicious. Karaoke is really fun and the events they host are a blast. I highly recommend checking out this bar and telling your friends about it!

Google
Blush and blu is VIBES. We went on a Friday night during pride month and the owner was DJing. The music was great, the dance floor was fire. We were from out of town and the owner gave us a tour of the bar. The entire staff was incredibly welcoming and the hospitality was unmatched. Also, everyone was hot. DONT SLEEP ON THIS PLAXE.

Google
Cozy, friendly, LGBTQ+ women's bar in Denver. Highly recommend a visit for a delicious cocktail. Jodi was a pleasure to meet and have a drink with. The ladies from Florida.

Yelp
I love Blush & Blu! I've only been a few times, one was a charity drag show and the other was karaoke night but both were so fun! I'm a shy girlie pop but this space is super cute and the staff and regulars were all so sweet! It's weird to be in a space like this and feel no pressure but I really enjoyed being around my people Wish there were more of these (truly) queer friendly spots

Yelp
They lost my card. Then when they were trying to find it, the server told me I had already closed out and that I must have forgotten. I had two drinks in two hours, not drunk at all...100% sure I never closed out. (Likely, one of the bartenders accidentally closed the wrong ticket out and gave my card to someone else). No big deal...I was a bartender before and have done the same thing a handful of times...it happens, especially on a busy Saturday during PRIDE. But then the weird thing is, the server asked me to provide a second card for them to run. I politely declined. She was nice about it, but she insisted I put down a second card, saying, "I'll run it really quickly and bring it right back, ok?" After I declined to give her a second card again, she got her manager. Thankfully, the manager came over and just said, "you guys are fine" (it was only one drink anyway). But then I kinda just had to leave bc they had lost my card, and I really didn't want to give them my other one. So, two stars bc they lost my card, then suggested that I had messed up, and then never apologized for the hassle. (Not doing one star bc at least everyone was kind the whole time.) I'm totally understanding of making mistakes bc we're all human - just don't blame your guests when you do!!

Yelp
Came here for the first time on a date during an open mic night - had a lovely time! The evening was well organized, had decent turn out, and plenty of varied seating (cozy couches and more casual tables). I enjoyed the overall atmosphere of Blush & Blu. Good crowd and a range of ages. This was my first foray into a public queer space since coming out and I was very comfortable here. I liked how they cater to all settings, such as bar seating, tables, couches, and a more intimate area upstairs. Lastly, the drinks were very reasonably priced with all sorts of options available, both with and without alcohol. Really looking forward to coming back. Lots left to explore!

Yelp
It was supposed to be a tea party with vendors and we RSVPd per website which is why we came, along with being a local "lesbian" bar. When we walked in we were immediately asked for IDs which is fine, but gave off a more clubby vibe at 4:00pm than a "all are welcome energy". We didn't get offered any cocktail specials or recommendations, had to ask for options which we ended up choosing ourselves and those drinks were mediocre at best. Seems like an okay local lesbian bar. Wouldn't recommend for traveling lesbians though, dive bar vibes all the way.

Yaya L.

Yelp
Absolute pleasure being here!!!! BRITTANY IS THE BEST BARTENDER!!! She is friendly, funny and so bomb! Our drinks are on point and we are so happy we came in! The owner Jody is amazing and so sweet! She is everything & we are so happy we met her! Support this beautiful bar and hook up your bartender! Support this lesbian owned and operated business!

Danielle F.

Yelp
Blush & Blu? More like Blush & Bleh. Have been here a few times. Drinks are subpar & it's a super clicky vibe & pretty small space to move around & really do anything in. Not very friendly staff or other LGBTQ+ members there in general, didn't feel welcomed the few times I've been here. Would rather just go to any other bar in Denver in general.

Renée H.

Yelp
I frequent Blush & Blu weekly. It's a lovely, and safe little bar. My personal favorite drink is their Blueberry Lemonade. Good service with nice folks.

Miatsu K.

Yelp
My girlfriend wanted to check this place out and it was time I updated a review from many years ago so we opted to spend a wonderful afternoon there. Our bartender was beautiful soul named Lo. She treated us like absolute gold. Friendly, responsive, funny, open and makes a great cup of coffee. My girlfriend had never been in such a bar and she found it to be safe, exciting and clean. She completely enjoyed herself... As did I. The Blush and Blue is clean, staffed with wonderful people and a very safe place to congregate. I highly recommend this small, local, privately owned bar.

Yelp
This lesbian bar is absolutely fantastic! It's impeccably clean, and the service was top-notch. I had no trouble finding convenient parking, and the drinks were absolutely delicious. The pricing is just right, and the ambiance creates a wonderful atmosphere. I had such a great time and would definitely recommend this bar to my fellow lesbians, as well as my friends and family. The owners clearly take great pride in their establishment, and it truly shows. If you're looking for a laid-back spot to enjoy some drinks and connect with amazing people, you have to check out this place!

Kelsey H.

Yelp
The facility is completely inaccessible to anyone with a wheelchair. You can get MAYBE 10 feet in the door, but if you want to go to the bathroom or access most of the tables...forget it. There's apparently a pool table upstairs, but there's no elevator or ramp up there. I also overheard a performer talking about how hard the stairs down to the dressing rooms are on the performers, so I can't imagine how impossible it would be for performers with any sort of problems with their legs (I'm relatively able-bodied but have messed up knees thanks to teenage cheerleading, and it sounds like the whole downstairs would be mostly inaccessible to me). I also found that the owner is facing lawsuits over racism and stealing tips, & something about not paying her employees during lockdown. It's really unfortunate that one of the few lesbian bars in the whole country is owned by such an awful person. I want to support a lesbian bar since there's so few, but I cannot morally or ethically support this business.

Kat M.

Yelp
A friend and I stopped in while we were visiting the area. We ended up spending the entire night doing karaoke. The drinks are great, the vibe is fun and everyone who works there is so fun to chat with as well. Can't recommend this place enough!

Summer S.

Yelp
This would be the best place ever if it was owned and managed by somebody that cared but that's not the case. They are rude to the help in front of customers it's not good. The bartenders and help are good they will treat you well

Ben S.

Yelp
Do not go. The bitches behind the bar do not acknowledge at all Have to give something of a star and it is overrated

Jill E.

Yelp
Very cute bar/lounge. Personally I liked the lounge seating in the back and the collection of drinks! Karaoke is always a plus!

Sara C.

Yelp
Cool! Nothing out of the ordinary (obvi aside from being a lesbian bar). Kinda wish there was a bit more of a pizzaz or sparkle or personality to the place to draw me back. Cool place tho.

Jen B.

Yelp
This is the bar that has it all. Beer, cocktails, white claw. Laughs and love! It's a multi level treasure trove. It has a downstairs little hideout space with plush couches which I think those on dates or introverts would appreciate. On the main floor to the right is a stage and venue area and to the left a traditional bar. Tucked away on the left rear is a staircase to another fun nook for pool. They also host a comedy show and an open mic on Wednesdays where I got to see some hilarious comedians preform! This place has everything but a parking lot! Pro-tip street parking is free after 6p. Get you to Blush & Blu!

Jon W.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a few years now for karaoke on Thursdays. I'm not the usual crowd, but always accepted. The bar staff is incredibly friendly. The owner is the same way, stellar. I've come here on a few other nights and it's the same chill vibe. Definitely a go to place! Check it out!

Leah R.

Yelp
I'm new in town! I'm a black cis lesbian who was excited to visit my first lesbian bar! The woman who checked my ID said, "I haven't seen you before." That was my first sign that Blush and Blu was just a small group of regulars!! Kinda awkward!! The mock tails were great as I didn't have to buy anything alcoholic!!

Kate R.

Yelp
Perfect little Sunday brunch w my sis! Mugmosas 2-4-1 can't go wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Warm welcome and very attentive staff! Hand sanitizer out and ready & a fun puppy painting event. We will definitely be back!

J K.

Yelp
Jody was such an amazing bartender. This bar is so wholesome & inclusive. My girlfriend & I had such a wonderful time talking with Jody about the business. Music was amazing, the bar is very clean, & the prices are reasonable. 10/10 recommend visiting this bar whether you're a local or visiting!

Katrina V.

Yelp
Love this place! Started coming here 6 months ago - usually on Thursdays for karaoke night. Hella fun! . Bartenders are very friendly and the vibe is very welcoming. Happy to have found this place.

Yelp
Somehow my original post showed me as being from San Francisco. This is not true. I live in Denver. Actually, I would give zero starts if I could. I am a transwoman. When the COVID19 restrictions were lifted I felt like I had to get out as my feminine side. I started to go to Blush & Blue. In a time span of about 2 1/2 months I went there one to three times a week, depending on what the entertainment was. If you are a transwoman, this place "IS NOT" for you. If you have a penis, you are not welcomed as much as they say you are. I am a 60 year old transwoman and I am still learning how to be a female. As a joke, I said something to one woman and now I am banned from the bar. No explanation other than the one comment I said was the reason they gave me. Like I said, I am still learning. I would say a good 99% of the people at Blush and Blu are so fucking phony. Especially management. I have had women tell me I have a great personality and I am so pretty and they give me their phone number. Women have even text me or phoned me right there in the bar saying "Now you have my number". I text them a few days to a week or so after and I have not heard back from 17 out of 18 phone numbers. I tried t get answers as to why I was banned. Jody is the owner and she is a COWARD!!!!! She would not talk to me to discuss the situation. She had her flunky Tony message me on Facebook. How much of a coward can she been?

Christina M.

Yelp
A great place to hang out! The bartenders are very nice and fast. My partner is a trans man and we pass pretty well as a cis het couple. Unfortunately not all the patrons are very accepting of this. We went on a poetry night one time and received glares from other patrons. One poet read a poem about sexual assault without a trigger warning which was upsetting, and then ended the poem by talking about how much she f'in hates men while staring at my partner. We enjoyed the bar and gave it another chance on a karaoke night and blended in nicely, glad we gave it another chance!

Serena J. B.

Yelp
I was in town for a conference and attended their karaoke night. It was easily the best experience I've had at a bar in 20 years. Everyone who worked their was professional and fun, they poured a solid drink, and the patrons were diverse and accepting to all who attended. I highly recommend Blush and Blu as a very LGBTQ+ friendly bar.

David C.

Yelp
I had a very interesting experience here. Drinks and atmosphere were good enough. My friends and I were seated away from the main area and discussing various topics including downtown's homeless issue, the current political climate, and the 2020 election. We all had opposing views and were engaging in a civil discussion about it (not being rowdy or loud, always seated, being respectful). One of the bartenders came up to us and said "Are you guys done with your drinks? Here's your tab. We're asking you to leave." I was perplexed as I've never been kicked out of a bar before and asked why. We were told "This is a safe space and we got a complaint that what your group was talking about was incredibly offensive. You need to leave." We left and will never be going back.

Eli M.

Yelp
Took my girlfriend for both her first and my first time to a lesbian bar. It was her first time going out in public with a full face of makeup. This place had a really lovely atmosphere and we managed to come on the once a month Saturday night karaoke. The MC/DJ was amazing. And a really good singer! The drinks were delicious and the people were so friendly. We had a really lovely evening and enjoyed all of the talented folks grabbing the mic. After that night we decided that will be our place for regular date nights. It's just a super fun, safe and cool vibe. The late night donuts next door don't hurt. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Gabby H.

Yelp
A great bar with extremely kind and welcoming staff and fantastic, fairly priced drinks. I felt extremely safe being myself here, and felt sincerely welcomed by both the staff and the other customers.

Kylee J.

Yelp
Came here on a whim while exploring Denver and figured, why not go in for a drink. The bartender was very nice and welcomed us but you could tell as you walked in that it was an older lesbian generation bar. The other patrons weren't as welcoming to a younger lesbian couple. Nothing against the bar, but it was kind of a turn off. I think it would be a lot of fun to come in the evening when it was probably a more mixed crowd on ages. CHEERS

Meg E.

Yelp
Easily the most fun & safest I've felt in a bar, we'll definitely be back our next time through Denver!

Shar S.

Yelp
I'll start my review by saying that I have never felt more welcome or at home at any restaurant or establishment than I felt at Blush & Blue today. After being on our feet all day, my coworker and I decided to stop in here for a drink. What started as one drink turned into a few :) Upon walking in, we were greeted by the world's cutest pup, Monkey. A teeny, weeny, furry little guy who's so darn cute! The bartender, along with everyone sitting at the bar, flashed us a smile and a greeting. Soo warm! We sat at the bar with the rest of the patrons and ordered some drinks. And, let me just say, that the bartender really took care of us. She gave us the absolute best one-on-one attention one could ask for at a bar. I ordered my usual sweet martinis, and she didn't disappoint! Got the tab.. the best deal I've gotten on any martini since I moved to Denver! And very well done. They all invited us back to check out their events (which I most definitely will), and we even exchanged numbers with a few of the patrons. Definitely the type of place that I'd like to call "home"!

Shelby F.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I was visiting from out of town with my fiancée and knew we needed to stop into one of the few remaining lesbian bars in the U.S.! We were warmly greeted by the bartenders, I've genuinely never met such inviting people. They introduced themselves and helped us choose our drinks. We sat at a table to watch a musical performance they were hosting. I couldn't figure out how to order food from next door but we also didn't ask. The vibe was really chill, lots of seating options. I can't wait to visit Denver again and stop back in. Bonus: they're right next door to Voodoo Donuts so stop there after for a little treat :-)

Daniel S.

Yelp
This place was so immediately welcoming and fun. I believe the bartender we chatted with may be the owner. She was super friendly and gave great recommendations for out of towners to see gay Denver. Would absolutely recommend.

Serlina S.

Yelp
Wow, talk about service. The minute we walked in the door, the energy was unreal!!! The staff were so lively, def best service I've gotten since I moved here 8 months ago. You can also order Japanese food from next door and Blush manages the billing and delivery aspects straight to your table. The food was great, not sure of restaurant name though. Parking can be tricky but it's worth it! Definitely coming back here.

Yari A.

Yelp
Hilarious comedy and amazing drinks! 10/10 recommend. People are great, comedians are amazing!

Kaitlyn P.

Yelp
Is this Karen's diner? Went in for drinks, their "cocktails" taste kindergarten-grade, I couldn't tell there was alcohol in there AT ALL. The staff kept everyone corralled in the one person walkway directly in front of the door & by the bar unless I PAID to $10 STAND in another 1foot section closer to the stage and $25 to sit at a table and roam the whole building like a normal bar. Everyone seemed to be in their own exclusive clique not willing to intermingle at all. Which regardless of the bar itself was disappointing for the LGBTQ+ community to be honest; that was the cherry on top for me to leave as the whole experience was a -10 out of 10. The staff literally threw her arms up and guided me by my arm to stay in the 1foot free zone unless I paid. If you're this financially unstable, close the bar or just ask for a plain old cover fee since there was supposed to be a "show." Seriously not worth going back to AT ALL. The whole experience felt very controlled and stiff in an environment I looked for to let loose and have fun.

Cody H.

Yelp
This place was super heterophobic. I was waiting to get an asperagoose tattoo next door so we went there for a drink and then they were super rude and said we are not welcome because we are not lesbian. Super awkward and sexist. Zero stars by no.

Shoshana F.

Yelp
A welcoming, all-inclusive location with a great staff! We love all of the different events, the diversity of guests, and the overall sense of community.

Michael R.

Yelp
Great bar. Safe space. Great open mic comedy on Wednesday's. Great place check it out if you are queer.

Marissa K.

Yelp
My partner and I found this place a few months ago and it has became my favorite place to be. Everyone who works there is super friendly! Jody and tanaz are by far two of the kindest most genuine people you'll ever meet! They always make sure that their patrons feel accepted and safe. I had an uncomfortable experience with someone and they truly had my back. It feels like I found a family in the people at blush and I couldn't be more grateful for them!

Leah D.

Yelp
I can't believe I've lived in this city for 7 years and hadn't made it in here before yesterday! Great drinks, great vibe, COVID conscious, and overall just a general feeling of being safe. I've never noticed that I'm never really relaxed when my wife and I go out until I felt completely chilled out at Blush & Blu. Looks like we need to hang around our people more.

Leanne B.

Yelp
They tolerated my irrational behavior because I was in mourning for someone who passed away. Thank you whoever you were tall, dark haired, good-looking and kind at closing time.

J S.

Yelp
It's really rare to find such a cool, relaxed place that is also a haven from hetero-normative bars. My girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised to find this respite while on a vacation to Denver. The vibe here is very comfortable and laid back- we enjoyed cocktails and played pool upstairs before spending time sitting at the bar. There, the owner, Jody chatted us up and filled us in on the history of the bar and where to get some good late night food after we left. She was so hospitable and her passion for the LGBTQIA community was palpable. We will definitely be back next time we are in Denver and I highly recommend you stop by as well.

Dex C.

Yelp
Visiting from Dallas and my friend brought me here. I THOUGHT southern hospitality was the best there is but the staff here have been more than amazing.

Nancy R.

Yelp
Today was my first time at Blush & Blu and it happened to be on Pride Weekend. It could use some maintenance or remodel but other than that it's pretty cool. This mainly lesbian bar has a prime location on Cofax; has a basement and a upstairs area with a pool table and a good book collection, but my favorite part were the drinks. They ran out of most of the ingredients but what they managed to make (Colfax Coconut Marg and Cucumber Mule) were very good and at a decent price (cocktails are between $6 and $10). Also, the staff is super friendly and welcoming.

Lauren E.

Yelp
Perfect spot! My wife and I went on a Friday night. Although we were told it wasn't as packed as it normally is, for us it was a perfect vibe! There were quite a few ppl there and it made for a good time. :) The staff and patrons of the bar were all friendly. We went on the burlesque night. Although we did not attend the show, the show seemed to have a full house! I wish we had something like this in Miami! Worth checking out hands down!!

Katy B.

Yelp
Staff is fantastic and the facility is just what we need. Thank goodness we y are being open

Corie S.

Yelp
What a welcoming place. From their excellent cocktails and coffee (!!!) to entertainment and pool table upstairs, this place has it all. Particularly welcoming to women but warm to everyone who isn't a bigot, I can't recommend this place enough. Absolutely charming and fun.

Vilma S.

Yelp
Standing in line for Voodoo Doughnut, we decided to go in since it was next door (someone had told us they had run out of doughnuts--not true). It is a cool little place. Has a small library upstairs, nice bar in the middle and on the other side an area where you can play pool, dance, and Karaoke on Friday. I went back in line since they hadn't run out of doughnuts, while my daughter stayed inside. While waiting, one of the bartenders from Blush asked if any of us wanted hot chocolate, coffee or spicy chai while in line for $2. I said yes, and she brought it out to me--that was so nice!! After getting my doughnuts, went back for a little while and listened to people sing Karaoke. Very nice people and the drinks are super inexpensive. My daughter got a Heineken and Maker's Mark Bourbon with Ginger Beer for $8.75.

Liz R.

Yelp
Cute Atmosphere but this will be my first and probably last time visiting this gay bar. They make up prices throughout the night for their drinks you may pay $3 for a shot one round and $7.50 the next which is what happened to us. Overrated like most lgbtq bars in the city.

Unknown F.

Yelp
There's a long tradition of the relationship between bartender and patron. I haven't been in Blush & Blu in a couple of years, but found myself on a Saturday afternoon, parched, thirsty for a beer. It was a bit crowded, but not overly so, several bartenders behind the bar. I grabbed a seat front and center, the gal who took my order was unfriendly and a grifter. I ordered a beer, she held her hand up to indicate $5 for the beer. I lifted mine said hello. No smile, no greeting, nothing. She matter-of-factly said $5. I handed her my card and enjoyed my beer. A few minutes later she handed a younger bartender a margarita and said give this away, it was a mistake. The younger bartender was handing me the margarita as we discussed what was in it. The rude bartender grabbed the drink and handed it to another patron down the way, saying to the younger gal, they'll like it. Her service (or lack of) felt rude and dismissive, once again. I asked for my tab and the total for my one beer was $4. So... she was not only rude but increasing the price of my beer initially. Her POS system obviously has my beer priced at $4, but she wanted to charge me $5. Was she grifting a $1? Was she thinking I'd pay cash and she'd just pocket the extra dollar and whatever tip I decided to add on? F'n rude and a grifter. I'm really sick of bad service, even if it's just a $5 beer, I want to know my money and patronage is appreciated, respected. It's not about the $1, it's about the principal on top of the rude service. I don't need to go into a place to be treated like crap by a person who is slinging cheap cocktails on east Colfax. There aren't many gay bars for women in Denver, unfortunately bartenders like her give the business a bad name, bad experience, and a bad review. In the end I tipped her 50% on the beer, because in spite of my bad experience, I don't let crappy people dictate my behavior, but I'll likely not go there again. Unless you fit the parameters of what this chick thinks is a worthy customer, expect her to be a rude grifter.
