Came here with a group of friends for a birthday and we had so much fun. We sat on the back patio and the weather was great. I got the Holiday in Paris cocktail and it was so good. Our server was Valentine and he was AWESOME!!! So funny and gave us great recs. We loved this place and the service was great. Definitely recommend it - and ask for Valentine!!

Google
I had dinner here to celebrate my friend's upcoming wedding. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, & amazing food/drinks! I had the BBQ Burger w/side salad & Fireside Cocktail. The burger had a berry BBQ sauce which paired great w/the gouda cheese & onion ring. If you like spicy drinks the Fireside cocktail absolutely meets that flavor profile in every way. I also tried some of the Butterscotch Blondie & it was heavenly. Highly recommend!

Google
Blvd Tavern is a fantastic spot for brunch. We kicked things off with their soft pretzel and donuts, both of which were fresh, warm, and full of flavor. For mains, we had the chicken and biscuit, which was rich and satisfying, and the carnitas eggs benedict, which balanced savory flavors perfectly. The highlight of the experience was their impressive eight-drink espresso martini tower. It was a showstopper and worked out perfectly for our table of four (two drinks each!). The food looked incredible across the board, and everything we tried exceeded expectations. Will definitely be returning.

Google
High quality food! Pricey menu, pretty much every meal was $20 at minimum. Enjoyed the vibe and they are able to seat a larger sized table. Will be back to try more!

Loved this place! Margarita was perfect and the food was SOOOOO Delicious!! What a pleasant surprise for stopping by for our first time! But wont be the last!

Google
So the staff were great very nice checked on us and were overall friendly. Now the food, I got the hash and it was decent not worth over $20 in my opinion but it was okay I had to salt it and put some hot sauce on it to give it flavor but the sausage to potatoes ratio was good. My partner had the salmon Benedict which was also mid just not a lot of flavor in either. The drinks were also sub par. Overall it was a decent place to visit once but there are much better places in the city to visit especially for the price.

Google
Blvd Tavern is a cute little spot. I came in and was greeted by the bartender immediately. Very comfortable setting with 2000's alternative music playing in the background.

Google
First time at BLVD Tavern and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back. We had family visiting from Texas and wanted to showcase the best KC has to offer. BLVD Tavern represented! Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, and wonderful service. Highly recommend!

Yelp
First time. Staff friendly. Atmosphere is simple, it's in an old brick building on SW Blvd, hip artist area with a plethora of independently owned restaurant, coffee shops, cool shops. Owner/ chef was formally with Red Door and as all chefs dreamed of their owned place. Blvd Tavern has been here 2 years and is a made by scratch kitchen. I came during HH and enjoyed a Holiday in Paris cocktail, vodka, gran mariner, pomegranate syrup, lemon, bubbles. Yummy!! I know this place well as a dear friend owned the building and his restaurant was Shiraz, it doesn't need much for decor as it already has a good vibe

Yelp
We recently ate here and had a mixed experience. The food was decent, and our server was excellent--attentive, kind, and professional. However, I do want to note (especially for others who travel with service animals) that we were not permitted to dine indoors with our ADA-compliant service dog. We were told we could only be seated on the patio. While we were happy to enjoy the outdoor seating that day, it's important to mention that this is not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act or Kansas state law, which both require that service animals be allowed anywhere customers are allowed to go--including indoor dining areas. I don't believe the management was being intentionally discriminatory; more likely, they were unaware of what the law requires. But for those of us who rely on service dogs to navigate daily life, access matters. I hope the owners will take this as an opportunity to become better informed, because this could be a truly welcoming place for everyone.

Yelp
Was there about 3pm and it wasn't crowded. The best thing about the place is that we were greeted and seated promptly. Food took a bit to get to us even though I didn't actually pay attention to the time. 2 of us. Ordered burgers, each getting a different one (they have a small menu and only 2 burgers on menu). Food looked good when it came out but my French fries were way too salty and all small nubbings. I mentioned the saltiness to the server and all he could say is that they don't put any extra salt on them and must be the brine they soak them in. Didn't finish them. Burgers were fat and made them look big but they weren't very flavorful. I am not usually one to criticize unless I think it's warranted. $20 for each burger and fries was way too much for what was received. Server was nice but not overly attentive, especially as little people as were in there. Guess it's mainly a bar and not a food place. Noted. Will not return.

Yelp
Worst hamburger I've ever eaten no one at my table finished their food. Service was okay and it's clean so 2 stars for that. But the food itself was so bad hahah can't speak on the drinks tho

Yelp
Came for the bottomless mimosas, stayed for the amazing food. Mimosas were $22 for bottomless, and that was a great deal to the group of us. The server was really nice and never left our drinks empty. The menu was small but amazing. I saw shrimp and grits and couldn't resist- and I made the right choice!! It was rich, creamy, and filling. I would order this every time. The inside was casual and the patio looked really cool. I'd love to visit again!

Yelp
First time at Blvd Tavern. I wasn't really hungry so opted for their tavern salad with medium steak, and donuts. The donuts came out pipping hot, and were really good. I enjoyed my salad, fresh and the steak was really tender. The bee's knees was such a refreshing drink. I'll definitely be back to try other menu options. Shout out to our waitress for letting my friend and I catch up for 3 hrs and kept being so courteous to us
google avatar

Yelp
Cool bar with a casual vibe. The food is good but not great. I had the tavern burger and fries. The burger was cooked really well and tasted good. My friends got the cajun pasta, the andouille sausage tasted good but the sauce and pasta were pretty lackluster. Still tasted good just not a lot going in terms of flavor and quality ingredients. Our server was really good, and very attentive to our large group and had good timing with check ins for drinks. BLVD Tavern is a solid spot for a beer and burger.
google avatar

Yelp
The menu select and food taste great along with the selection of whisky's and bourbons which complement their take on the old fashioned! I live the open friendly environment along with great customer service from the bartenders.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Tavern for a while and we finally stopped in last week. The service was quick. The dinner menu was a little limited. I got the Mac and cheese and it was absolutely delicious. I got a side of street corn as well that was okay. I would love to try their brunch next and would come back for dinner again too.

Yelp
Food ummm nothing nice to say at all shrimp over cooked and over salted grits no texture more like mashed potato consistency . Potatoes no seasoning at all. Would not recommend at all.

Yelp
We recently went to BLVD Tavern for our book club meet up and everyone was extremly impressed with the brunch entrees! BLVD tavern has brunch and Bottomless Drinks on the weekends. Table favorites for brunch included the fried chicken dish, the eggs Benedict with potatoes dish, and the fluffy blueberry French toast entree with bacon. This spot serves other great items during the week! If you are looking for your next restaurant and tavern in Kansas City to hang with friends, snag a drink, or enjoy brunch on the weekend, BLVD Tavern is the spot to check out!

Yelp
If we do a limited menu, everything's gotta slap- everything. Taste, portion, price point... If ya get cheese curds, gotta be lots of cheese curds, no? If ya get a $20 southwest grilled chicken salad, gotta be worth the $20 no? Burger (although incredibly TALL) tasted great! $20 great? Hmm. I see Brunch is more where it's at :)

Yelp
I can't believe I have overlooked Blvd Tavern all these years... we had dinner there recently and man was it ever good! We split the BBQ burger and the steak salad. I'm not usually a salad at a restaurant person, but I would come back just for that alone. Decent drink menu with rotating seasonals, not a ton of character on the inside, and service was solid. The food is the star of the show here.

Yelp
We stopped by this spot for a post-wedding brunch and our whole group was seated in the back party room. It's not the biggest space, so we did have to share the party room with two other groups which gets really loud. Our server was really nice, but seemed to get pretty distracted - he'd take a few orders and then leave and then come back to take a few more, etc. Food was fine. I got the salmon eggs Benedict, but had almost no noticeable hollandaise sauce on it - flavor was pretty good though. My husband got the BG&E (biscuits, gravy, and eggs) and it was so salty. I'm not sure if they're all made that way, but my mouth kept watering (not in the good way) while I was eating it so I could only handle a few bites.

Yelp
The Poblano Mac and Cheese was on the bland side, the very bland side. Could only taste a bit of poblano and the carnitas on top could have used some help too (can't forget to mention the insane 7 dollar up charge). This menu item needs a re-working immediately. This Mac and cheese is not fit for a restaurant in the xroads but maybe instead a church potluck in a rural southern community. Not sure how this sub or dish was allowed to leave the kitchen. It was very soupy also.

Yelp
I was surprised why it took us this long to visit this place. It's definitely in the neighborhood where you have plenty of options. But, this place is simply amazing, it has really cool interiors, combined with modern and rustic look. We sat on a bar seats and had a very pleasant talk with the bartender (Lekin) she made us amazing drinks some of them were out of the menu. We ordered truffle Parmesan fries (It was 4/5), and cheese curds (5/5). Make sure you visit this place, it definitely need more set of eyes.

Yelp
Good food, noisy back room Enjoyed: the French Toast with fresh blueberries & orange whipped cream. The breakfast potatoes were crispy & seasoned, but be prepared for heavy dill flavor Tip: better to plan a visit with a smaller group and be seated in the front section. I had a great experience another time during restaurant week with a group of 3. For this occasion, it was great the restaurant could accommodate groups of 15+ in the back room, but I could only easily hear the person seated right next to me. Very noisy. Next Time: I will ask for bacon extra crispy. If going with a large group, I would also request for food orders to be put in for sections of the table if it won't come out all at once. The orders came out at a variety of times, so those seated across from me were eating for 5 or 10 minutes before my order came out. Service: Great! I could tell they were hustling & being as attentive as possible with a large group Atmosphere: Basic in the back, more natural light & brick wall character in front Visit: 5.11.24

Yelp
Stopped by BLVD Tavern this past weekend for brunch and HOLY SMOKES you need to add this to the top of your brunch list. We had the best brunch and cocktails BLVD Tavern made its way to the top of my fav brunch spots in KC! Parking was super easy and service was top tier. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. They also have an indoor event space for rent. Everything was great! What we got: Chicken-N-Biscuit, BG&E, Smoked Salmon Benedict, Chilaquiles, Quiche of the Day (peppers & asparagus), Cheese Curds, a Mimosa, Bloody Mary, Rum Punch, BLVD Old Fashioned, and the Bee's Knees. You CANNOT miss the Chicken-N-Biscuit, it stole the show! The corn flake crusted chicken and bourbon maple syrup were I highly recommended making a reservation for your next brunch date. They offer many seating options inside, outside on the patio, and even have an event space avalible for larger parties to rent out! Let me know if you try it! p.s. they have the best ranch

Yelp
Service was so so and I only say that because after the waitress saw me sit down when I joined my party of 2 she did not come over to greet me. I literally had to go ask where my waitress was to get some service. The ambiance was so so also, had a hard time finding the building the parking is across the street from the actual restaurant and the letters are steel gray which blend in with the black and brick background. They sat us next to the bathroom and a dusty wall and behind me I guess was set up for a mimosa bar because the staff kept going behind me making drinks and clinging glasses. The menu is very limited and small and the quality of the food does not match the high price menu, it was just ok. The service just felt forced (like another day at the office) and not really welcoming to us as the paying customer. I guess you never know until you try a place.

Charlie W.

Yelp
The food was great. We ordered the French toast, cheese curds, Benedict and salad. Everything tasted great but the service took a long time. We were there for over 2 hours. Half of our food came out at once and by the time half the group was finished, the other half of the table got their food. Idk if i will come back.
google avatar

Jake W.

Yelp
Food was generally pretty good. Breakfast potatoes a little salty, eggs bennie not too shabby. However, they were out of a beer and suggested another. The beer was about 3/4 full and not cold. I ordered another against better judgement and the server stated that that beer had also just ran out. I ordered another different beer. Once again, 3/4 full and slightly cooler than room temperature. The ladies with us also ordered espresso martinis and they were basically Kahlúa poured into vodka. Not good. Probably won't go back due to the warm beer, otherwise the server was nice and the food was pretty good.

Yelp
Blvd Tavern is a great place to stop in for a quick bite or drink on Southewest Boulevard. I visited during happy hour, which made their menu prices quite reasonable. I enjoyed some tasty cheese curds and a beer for $10 + tip. I didn't love the look of the prices outside of the happy hour - but that is par for the course these days. The space is simple, with a long wrap-around bar, and seating all the way back along the wall. Despite being a shotgun layout, the lighting was sufficient and it didn't feel like a dark dungeon. The service was great - our server was friendly, ensured we got our order in before happy hour, and checked with us several times. The manager did as well. While Blvd Tavern probably isn't somewhere I'd hang out for multiple hours, it is definitely a good spot to keep in the rotation.
google avatar

Yelp
A few Colleagues and I go to BLVD tavern for happy hour and sometimes lunch. We were there last night and I got their hot beef sandwich to take home to share with my husband. And oh my God that was the best hot beef sandwich we've ever had! Tender, juicy, savory! My husband was so impressed! We had it with the truffle fries that are also so yummy! But I ordered the sandwich because 2 tables down I saw a guy order it and the smell was wafting over to our table, I was like I have to get this to go! So, if you're starving and have a big appetite go ahead and order it for yourself. Or if you want to split it, start with the truffle portobello mushrooms during happy hour for half off and half the sandwich will be plenty! The staff are always friendly and attentive too. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
We arrived when it opened and sat at the bar. Hope was the bartender and you could tell she wasn't ready to for our group of 13. She seemed to be frustrated and super hyped. She asked that we not order craft cocktails because she wasn't ready for that. ‍ The owner/chef gave us our water while Hope took the food order. We couldn't order drinks first (which us unusual), again, because she wasn't ready. Geez! The food was on point, as always.

Yelp
We went during brunch. The food was absolutely amazing! The corned beef hash and the chilaquile were both very good!!! And we actually mixed them both together and it was beyond amazing!!!!! It's pricey, in my opinion, with the corned beef hash at $21 and the chilaquile at $18. Drinks are very, very, VERY OVERPRICED!! And I have never experienced a charge for ice before! And at $6 not the whiskey ball round or square cubes!! Just plain old ice!! Don't order ice with alcoholic drinks!!!!

Yelp
I can't believe it's been six years since my last review of this amazing little restaurant in the KC crossroads. I'm thrilled to say that it's still magical and worth every star. I recommend BLVD Tavern for either brunch or dinner, regardless of which you choose you will be welcomed with kind hospitality, and delicious food. The last two times we've gone it has been with our toddler and even though I wouldn't go so far as to say this is a restaurant made for children, they were very accommodating and friendly with our kiddo which is not always the case in nicer places. Our daughter also loves this spot because they make killer cinnamon rolls and bacon - her two favorite breakfast foods. Ultimately what makes this place so special to me is that they manage to create a dining environment that is both elevated and relaxed. You can come in as you are, without worrying about if you're dressed up enough, or if your kid is with you, and be welcomed into a warm and unpretentious space that has some of the best food in the city.

Yelp
Blvd Tavern was a unique hipster joint. I went with a group of friends for brunch. We were promptly seated, with no wait. Our server was very friendly and checked in on us. I got an impossible burger with truffle fries. The burger was great but the true star of the show was the truffle fries. They were amazing and the aioli that came with them was to die for. This is a casual place to grab a bite. I want to come back and try some of their alcoholic drinks.
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Great place, great vibe. Service was spot in good. We went to brunch everything was amazing. You need to come down and check it out
google avatar

Lexie P.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I would not recommend BLVD tavern. The service was extremely slow and at least 7-10 min wait to find our server at any time. The first mimosa brought out tasted like water so we informed the server, the server said they ran out of OJ concentrate and offered us different flavor options. We decided to leave because we wanted OJ - then the server mentioned they had OJ and we stayed. The food took extremely long. The burger had no flavor. The gravy also had no flavor. The mimosas we ended up with also tasted wrong - I wish it was true OJ and not concentrate. Save your money ):

Yelp
Really enjoyed the Saturday brunch at Blvd Tavern! The brunch menu isn't super extensive but there are still some really great options. I went for the Shrimp and Grits which were very good, full of flavor, and the shrimp was cooked well. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but I was definitely full afterwards. My boyfriend ordered the Corned Beef Hash which he absolutely loved. The meat was cooked perfectly and the marbled rye toast was a great addition. We also got the Bottomless Brunch Flight which was just okay. With a minimum $12 purchase, you can order it and choose between Mimosas, Rum Punch, and Bloody Mary's. We had both the mimosas and rum punch. Rum punch tasted like straight juice but the flavor was there. Overall, brunch was good and we wouldn't mind coming back. Parking can be a bit of a hassle as you have to find street parking. There was a car show or something going on, but we got lucky and found parking not too far from the restaurant. It's a small restaurant, so get there we'll before closing time as it can get really busy. 4.5 stars!

Yelp
It's never too late to have a first! After living in KC for almost 20 years, I had never been to the Tavern. A friend recommended it to us in our last week in the city. We stopped in for brunch. Now, let's be fair, I am PICKY when it comes to brunch. Any restaurant on this planet is HARD PRESSED to get a 5-star review from me regarding their brunch. Blvd Tavern gets a 5-star without any hesitation. I have nothing but raving reviews here. We arrived, we were seated immediately. Service was great, they were very friendly and professional. Coffee was delish! Food was served fresh and piping hot. This was truly one of the best benedicts I've ever eaten in my life. Massive amount of delicious food, no way I could finish it in one setting. Even better having the leftovers! Price is on-point. Parking is ample. Ambiance is delightful. Staff is fantastic. Nothing but amazing all the way around!!! Highly recommended!

Ashlyn H.

Yelp
Seriously such a welcoming place! We came when they were about to close but Nick was so welcoming and gave us all recommendations. He was so sweet so awesome and will definitely come again!

Yelp
It's been quite some time since I've dined here, but really all I remember was that it was pretty small and dimly lit. So basically, 100% my vibe. That being said, the food wasn't very memorable and the service was middle of the road. It was restaurant week, so I totally understand it might have been a little hectic. No harm no foul. It's a bit confusing because Boulevard Brewery isn't far, so a lot of people may think they are correlated, but alas, they are not. There are so many great places to eat in this area, so I'm hoping that they are doing well, but I would likely not recommend for your first time in KC.

Yelp
Great for brunch, just make sure youske a reservation because it's worth it. The place is cute and located right next to Up Diwn!!

Yelp
Wanted to try a place I had never been for dinner, so I came here. Was asked if we wanted to sit at bar or at a table. I chose a table kind of off to the side much to the disliking of my date. To be honest I was very frustrated, we sat for a good while, at least 10 mins, probably longer waiting to be helped. My date kept saying those people just got here and already got drinks. Finally a server, cant remeber his name, comes over, and apologizes and takes our drink order. Another 10 mins go by, still no drinks. Finally my date gets up and goes to the bar and motions for a drink. Derich, who turned out to be the new owner, came to ask what our drink orders were, got them out quickly, and put in our order for truffle fries. I had an old fashioned and my S.O. had a boulevard wheat. After a while, the server who had originally took our drink order came by to apologize. Not to be rude, but he was one of the oddest servers I ever had. His mannerisms and voice were strange, and he touched everything the table, the glasses, the plates, the chairs, us. I can't explain it just super twilight zone like. Anyway, the fries were delicious, and we each ordered burgers, I had the mushroom blue burger, and he had the blvd tavern one. They were both huge and delicious. How this night started I would've given this place 1 star for sure, but the food and Derich's efforts to make it right changed my mind. I hope the new owners do well here, I will be back!

Yelp
My first experience at Blvd Tavern was eating in the restaurant and the food and service was great. However, this time we order carryout and it was the worst. I ordered the french dip and a side salad. Now why on earth would anyone but salad and a hot sandwich in the same box. The salad was completely wilted from the heat of the sandwich. On top of that the dressing cup wasn't closed properly so the bottom bread of the sandwich was so soggy I had to scrap it off and throw it and the salad away. I didn't get a pic of that. I did however get a picture of the pretzel my girlfriend ordered. It was $16 and a mall pretzel tastes better. On top of that it was very deceiving based on the menu description and the large pizza box that put a pretzel that's barely larger than my hand in. I wish I was with her when she picked up the food because I would never taken it because it was way below standards I hold for any restaurant. My advice would be to make sure you check your order prior to leaving. We never order a togo order again since the quality isn't the same as in restaurant

Kevin M.

Yelp
Went to Boulevard Tavern last night and it was great in all fronts! The fried portobello mushroom appetizer was delicious! The steak frites was melt in your mouth good! I had the macaroni and cheese with steak and I was so pleasantly surprised that the steak was cooked exactly to order! When I go back it will be hard for me but to order the same thing but I want to try the Reuben as it came highly recommended! Thankfully we had reservations as they were full! We got right in and the service was perfect. I really can't say enough how great Blvd Tavern is! Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Jasmine was my server and she was fantastic! I really liked the service here. The ambiance was cozy and I loved the older feel of the location. The food was great, my only disagreement here is that I was not vibing with the fact that a classic eggs Benedict was like $20 but maybe that's just because of inflation lol. They also have outstanding bloody Mary's and the CUTEST, TINIEST SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS!

Yelp
Our experience at the Blvd Tavern during Kansas City Restaurant Week was nice. My daughter and I went for dinner and the service was fairly quick. They offered a large selection to choose from. I enjoyed the shrimp scampi for a first course, the meatloaf for my main entree, and the chocolate truffle for dessert. The scampi was a bit overcooked but had nice flavor. The meatloaf was incredible. Very tender with a tangy ketchup sauce drizzle, and mushroom gravy. It was served with creamy mashed potatoes and simply-prepared green beans. Very comforting and delicious. The chocolate truffle was tasty as well. Smooth and creamy with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. Unfortunately, the crab cakes my daughter ordered were full of crab shells and a bit difficult to eat. I saw several orders of cheese curds and burgers delivered from the kitchen and they looked delicious as well. They offer multiple vegetarian items and the atmosphere is very casual and pleasing for a date night or meal with friends.

Yelp
Grabbed brunch here for my birthday! We were sat in the back room, which was chilly and noisy. Service was slow, but kind. The cheese curds and cinnamon roll were both good and the chilaquiles weren't bad. Drinks were good too- I had a michelada, and would definitely order it again if we went back.

Yelp
Me and my family had reservations at 12:30pm Nov3rd.(3 of us total) Had high hopes for this place as we were seated very quickly, but then quickly came to a turn as we waited and waited and waited very patiently to even be served water.(we were never even served water or even had the chance to see a server). The food looked great as it was being served to fellow tables that were even seated at the same time as us and after us. I waited five minutes then another 10 minutes then another 15 minutes and anyone with a child knows especially a 3 year old it's very hard very proud of my daughter for being very patient as we were waiting to even be greated by the server and NEVER WERE. We left after 15-20 minutes of waiting to even see anyone. No one even asked why we got up to leave but the other tables next to us soon realize why we got up to leave. People that were seated down at the same time as us had water even had a drinks from the bar of what they ordered even tables that were sat significantly after us already had water Their drink order and were talking with a waitress putting their order in. I am not sure what is going on over there I don't want to make any assumptions but I am going to be speaking on my experience there today as a first timer for going for Sunday brunch at blvd tavern on my one and only day off thank you. (I also come from a food and service industry background so you can throw any excuse of why this happened there still was no reason)I am trying to give my neighborhood restaurants a chance since all the gentrification but so far they have been disappointing. But if anyone else experiences this there is a place called Society right across the street we were sat down quickly with no reservation needed and had great service. Literally had water within 1 min of being seated thank you society I will be back

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service. Great beer selection. Top notch. Drop in if you're anywhere near. 5*

Yelp
Food was good. Ordered a cinnamon roll appetizer didn't feel it was fresh it wasn't warm. Great server tho, other patrons made it uncomfortable when seated next to US(we black) they asked to go down a table, yup they was white. Made me never wanna go here again. Watched the mgr tell everyone thank you for coming see you next time etc. when we got up to leave he didn't utter a word in our direction as we exited the place.

Andrea C.

Yelp
Overpriced for the taste and quality. Chilaquiles were so sweet I couldn't finish eating the entre. Biscuits and gravy were mid. Not enough gravy. Cinnamon roll was not as big as I thought it was for the price. Only thing really enjoyable were the truffle fries. But unfortunately they brought out my fries as an appetizer instead of with the meal. When I asked for them to take them back and bring out new ones with the food, they took my plate and brought me back the exact same fries. All in all, if you are charging prices like that, I would expect everything to be worth it. It's not. I do not think I would come back unless i see either a menu change or pricing change. (Just being honest)

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night around 6pm. We were a party of 5, seated immediately. Workers were crazy friendly - had a family vibe. We ordered a couple apps & drinks to get started. Everything came out quick, pipping hot & fresh. Ordered some entrees and again came out quick, hot and fresh. Everyone said their food was delicious. Waiter was attentive if we needed drink refills or anything really. They make their own dipping sauces in house. 10/10. Have heard great things about the brunch so will be coming back to try that out!

Yelp
Brunch is definitely my favorite "B-word!" lol Another one is Boulevard, as in Boulevard Tavern ( @blvdtavernkc ), in downtown Kansas City, MO! They offer large and hearty meals! They have a super delicious brunch menu too, which includes #shrimpandgrits , #chilaquiles , #sausageandbiscuits , #cinnamonrolls and more! My favorite part was the #BottomlessBrunchFlight , which I totally forgot to take a picture of, since I was enjoying it so much! If you ever find yourself in downtown KC, this is a great stop! Just don't be a dope, like me and go to Boulevard BREWRY instead! Aughhh...that was the worst wait, ESPECIALLY if you're getting hangryyy!

Yelp
People are amazing. Good drinks, good food, but just ... good. We went for breakfast. I had BG&E (biscuits and gravy and eggs); the biscuits were pretty dry, the gravy kind of watery, and the eggs had a weird flavor that I couldn't identify. Kind of like rosemary. It was good, just not really good. My wife had the corned beef hash, which she said she liked but also didn't eat very much of. No complaints at all, it was just ... ok. We had irish coffees, which were very good! The coffee was too strong for me personally so I couldn't have two, but that's just me. They tasted great, they use Jameson and a really tasty cream on top. This is a cool spot with terrific service in a very hip neighborhood. Would go back if staying in Crossroads again.

Yelp
Blvd Tavern is an excellent choice for a meal near Union Station. The modest sized restaurant is just a couple of blocks away in a neat brick building. It has a full bar as well as flexible, casual seating. I recommend reservations, but I was happy to be able to get a prime Saturday night table just two days prior. The service is friendly and conscientious - very good. The bartender is incredibly talented - he makes his own vermouths, bitters, infusions, etc. I really enjoyed the Manhattan flight. It is like saying a Cosmo is a martini, but I loved the geographically named spirit forward drinks made with various vermouths and bitters. Paris was a particular favorite, but I had to try the classic when ordering a cocktail. The Rye Manhattan (made with Redemption) was excellent. The food was similarly amazing...except dessert. The fried cheese curds were off the charts. As I reflect on my meal, it is crystal clear why I gained 5 lbs in 15 days. But, I loved those little fried nuggets that were crispy on the outside and had a creamy interior. They were particularly amazing dipped in the housemade ranch, but the sweet mustard was tasty as well. For our entrée, we split the ridiculously delicious dry aged Duroc pork chop, which was served with cornbread pudding and pecan green beans. Cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested, this tender pork chop melted in my mouth with just the right hint of sweet. The crunchy green beans with the spiced pecans were fresh and verdant. The soft and creamy cornbread pudding nearly brought a tear to my eye. If this is homecooking, I want to move into this home. My LOs had the Butcher Board, which was an amazing generously and well composed platter of meats and cheeses with crispy olive oil bread, and the beef on weck, which is ridiculously tender shaved roast beef on an onion roll with crazy good creamy horseradish sauce. The key lime pie was a little bit of a letdown, but I ate it anyway. It was more like lime scented pudding with a whipped cream top and graham crumble crust. It was not a pie. I nearly docked a star for it, but the bartender and the savory food items are with the trip. I could have geeked out with that guy all day, learning about how he makes these things, while I munched on cheese curds. It's a good thing for my dress size that I live in LA.

Yelp
Be wary of their eggs! I came here for brunch this past weekend and got the bottomless mimosas to start. They were strong but delicious, and completely worth it. My server made sure that I never ran out. We then ordered a giant soft pretzel to start, followed by the smoked salmon benedict and the BG&E. The pretzel came a little after the food, but that's okay as it was still so soft and the cheese sauce was simply incredible. The BG&E was absolutely delicious, but the eggs tasted really weird - almost had a fishy taste to it?? The yolks tasted so bad that I had to stop. The problem was that unfortunately, as I had requested my eggs sunny side up, the yolks started seeping into the gravy and destroying the rest of the meal. I ended up taking most of it home so that I could save the biscuits and little bit of gravy not touched by the eggs. With that being said, while the rest of the food and drinks were amazing, I'm a little freaked out by the eggs and don't think I'll be back.
