We recently made a day visit to the Forever Resort - Blyde Canyon which is around 5km north of the famous Three Rondavels viewpoint to enjoy the hiking trails situated within their property. To make use of these grounds, simply pull up to the reception office just before the entry gate. At the office, you can sign in for Day Visitor access (R150 per person as of July 2024). The staff at the desk will provide you a map which includes a handful of trails and show you where you can park and how to access the trails. ||On the day, we combined the Leopard Trail and Guinea Fowl Trails which made for several hours of very nice hiking (9.5 km) and total upward ascension of around 150 metres. The vast majority of the trails are natural and in pretty good condition but plenty of up and down climbing so best to have good shoes on the day. Expect a fair bit of exposure so have sufficient sunscreen, a good hat, towel and plenty of water, especially on hot days. ||During the hike, we started with the Leopard Trail which affords several excellent viewpoints into the Blyde River Canyon and of the Three Rondavels. With good sky conditions, these are 'WOW' stops along the trail. We spotted quite a few hyrax and different bird species. Heard an antelope barking but were not close enough to spot it. Once you descend into a spring area of the Guinea Fowl Trail, you encounter two really nice natural pools. Seems you can swim in these but the water was too cold during our winter hike so we just pressed on. ||The terrain between the Leopard and Guinea Fowl trails is quite different, giving a unique feel to both trails. Combined these trails took us around 3.5 hours to complete including a fair number of stops along the way for picture taking and rest/water breaks. Would gladly return to repeat this hike next time we are staying in the region and looking for good hiking opportunities.

The Forever Resort Blyderiver Canyon is an awesome family holiday destination. Conveniently located close to all things beautiful on the Panorama Route, South Africa. Facilities are comfortable and suitable for families who would like to explore the area over a few days. The hikes that one can do from the resort are awesome and range from easy to somewhat more challenging.||Highly recommend the resort for an affordable and comfortable base point to explore the region.

My wife and I had a lovely time. Viewing sites are easily accessible, clean and not crowded. The weather was good. The baboons and monkeys were not a problem because you guys had notifications that could not be missed by a guest. The restaurant food was great, particularly the chicken schnitzel.

We stayed at the resort for one night en route back to the KMIA. I would have loved to stay longer. The property is positioned really nicely and the upper viewpoint was great. I would love to do some of the hikes and spend a bit more time enjoying the resort.

We just want to say thank you once again to Willie and his staff for assisting us and going the extra mile with our vehicle that broke down, much appreciated!! Willie, your kind warm heart made us feel at more ease and the stress loud lifted. Thank you. Over all- we loved everything about the resort and will definitely return.

I was here hiking, on a day's permit. We did the Leopard trail and Guinea fowl trail. The hike has the best views of the 3 Rondavels. The waterfalls are excellent, the trail is not too hard. Its a 4 hour hike.

The only interesting thing about this place is the location. Beautiful views on the three rondavels and good hiking trails Two bedrooms chalet (45) are the awful and very expensive for their value. No view very dark inside. In the shadow on the morning and evening. Not confortable. No living room. I recommend to visit during the day but not stay in the resort.

Really enjoyed the recently refurbished units, always a pleasure to stay there. The restaurant stuff was a pleasure to deal with. They went out of their way to ensure that my Islamic clients received all their requirements
