We must have accidentally booked the "sleepbox" and at first, we were just going to take it as a new experience BUT things just got worst.
We were confused as there is a sign for BO Hotel, by the entrance of a mall looking thing. You are then directed to the inside of a restaurant/bar called Boston Grill. Interesting.
There is no real hotel reception as the host stand serves as hotel "front desk".
It's raining, we're exhausted, and after locating someone affiliated with Bo Hotel, we dropped off our bags at 9am and asked what time we should come back to check in; we are told 2pm and thanked the guy.
We come back at 2:45ish and told that check in at 3pm, by a grumpy looking guy. The restaurant is empty and he could not be bothered to help us in any way. We ask to sit in the corner of the restaurant, away from the bar, and away from the eyesight of any potential patrons. Around 3pm, the guy walks over to us and says loudly, "Shit"; we are confused. "Excuse me", I ask. He mutters under his breath and says he can check us in.
He "checks us in", hands us a key and points us to the back of he restaurant to a sign for the restrooms. We walk back and see a curtain and are very confused. There is no lock, just a door that leads to the bathrooms and then a curtain.
We are lead to a dark, dim space where there are 4 "sleep boxes", side by side. It's definitely not for everyone. Light on the top bunk was broken and they tried to fix it but only fixed half, didn't offer any sort of compensation.
I asked to cancel and guy says NO because we booked through a third party website (hotel.com). After a lot of back and forth and frustrations, I offer to pay whatever he needed to pay hotel.com and GTFO. It was 15% of what I booked. Seriously dude. You can't stomach less than 20$ USD?
Another guest was actually checking out a day early bc he said he felt deceived as well. When I booked, I thought it would be safe BUT when anyone can access the "sleepbox" area without a key, inside of a bar/restaurant, it changes the game. I would go elsewhere. Even if you need a key to the actual sleepbox, there is nothing other than a curtain and that separates the restroom from an area where you are sleeping.
Especially when the inside of your sleepbox isn't working, and their customer service is terrible, I recommend you stay away.
