Bò-Né Houston

The staff are really nice and the only redeeming thing about this place was their banh mi and pate that they give you as part of their bo-ne. We ordered the shrimp dumplings and you can tell it was frozen dumplings. It had no flavor and the shrimp tasted frozen. The dumpling skin was hard from the microwave. My 2nd mistake was ordering the bun rieu, I'm sorry but that travesty is not in any shape or form bun rieu. Never in my life had I tasted such a bland and awkward tasting bun rieu. I don't even know where to start with how bad it was. The smell was the first thing that hits you in the face and it was from this weird cut of meat with tendon on it. I want to say it was pork but it was oddly kinda beef like. It smelled horrible and it tasted horrible. Fried tofu was no fried and tasted like prepackaged store bought tofu that was just tossed in there. It was supposed to be bun rieu with crab but there was no crab meat. My wife orders their bo-ne original since it's their signature dish, this thing was microwaved. There's no way this plate touched a skillet or a grill since there were no grill marks or sear. Beef has literally no flavor and you literally gotta drown it in their dry sauce to get any taste outta it. It's madness how food can taste this bad. I'm going to stick to pho yummy or hem for bo-ne. This experience was like a giant lump of coal in my stocking for Xmas. 60 bucks wasted and taste buds traumatized.

Ah, this place ROCKED! 4 of us visited from Dallas. The other couple are Vietnamese and they were so happy to be in Houston to eat the great Viet food down there. One of the things that as a non-Viet that I enjoy the most is Vietnamese breakfast. I found this place via Google Reviews and this was our breakfast the day before we all headed back. Two of us ordered their standard Viet breakfast with steak. To be honest, the steak wasn't all that great. I should've ordered the ribeye. But everything else was pretty amazing. They make their own banh on premise, so it was nice and fresh. They gave a generous portion of pate, which my wife stole most of it and the bread from me. Meaning, she ordered something that she didn't like as much as mine. The sausage, whatever it was, complimented the egg, bread, and pate quite nicely. Overall, the experience was great. Nice and clean, good, friendly service. Would return again the next time we're in the area.

This review is for their banh mi only. I would never get their banh mi here again, I had order 1x BBQ pork with egg and 2x steak and egg banh mi. Their sandwich is so dry, the BBQ pork does not come with any pate and almost no butter. Their steak and egg is mediocre only not worth $10 per sandwich. BBQ pork banh mi - 0/5 Steak & egg banh mi - 3/5 I'll include pictures of how dry the sandwich looks.

Very delicious food. Easy to have a low carb meal with the original bo ne. Very cozy atmosphere. Only the banh bao was not too my liking, pre-made frozen buns. The egg rolls were also tasty.

I came here and ordered 2 orders of bo ne as well as a few other items. Although the signature dish is the name of the restaurant, but the flavor is far from it. Not only does it’s lacking in flavor, it didn’t taste like the beef were marinated/seasoned. Not sure what the deal is with that young guy. When I came up to pay for our bill, he just stare at me with a dirty look. It’s awful how he treats his customers. No worries. We will never come back. That guy needs some serious training on how to treat his customers. It’s a no wonder the restaurant has a lot of negative reviews.

Been here to the location quite a few times. Service is always good and fast. We always come in just right after the lunch rush so there’s always plenty of seating available. Love the murals on the wall, very creative! I’ve always ordered the Bo Ne Houston (the Original) and it’s always satisfying. Th portion is just right and the steak is tender and flavorful. I’ve had the Bo Steak before and is just as delicious, such a big chunk of steak that’s perfectly sizzled. Our order’s normally come with salad and baguettes with pate which we enjoy as well. This time we ordered the fresh shrimp spring rolls, which didn’t make the photos cause they were so good we just gobbled them up. They were freshly made, we can tell from the way the noodles consistency and the sauce it came with, chef’s kiss! Will definitely keep coming back for the Bo Ne and to try other dishes.

I purchased "Bo Ne". It steak, 2 egg sizzling on iron pan. It little salty, but add the combination of bread and side salad reduce the salty flavor. I been to other steakhouse it more salty in my opinion. I also got the Vietnamese coffee. The price are 23 buck. It seem high to most people but the combo you get is a fair price in my opinion. The bread is freshly made at the restaurant. It a family business.

Overall the years, this has been a go to breakfast and lunch joint for me. It’s a Vietnamese take on steak & eggs. Always served on a piping hot cow skillet. Bread, butter, pate, and a house salad accommodates the bo new specials. Almost always ask for extra butter and pate! In recent years, I don’t go often anymore since it’s quite a far drive. Prices have gone up a few bucks, portions has gotten smaller and the place itself isn’t so clean anymore. Kinda depressing. I still enjoy it but it’s not what it used to be. Now there are other places that has open and serves the same dish but I do find myself coming back here. It’s good but not great.

I recently tried Bo Ne Houston, and overall, it was a solid experience. The flavors were definitely on point! The marinade was good, the pâté was really delicious, and the butter added a nice richness to each bite. I do wish they used a higher quality cut of meat, because while it tasted good, the texture could've been better. They also serve a side salad, which is a nice addition, but it could use some improvement -- a bit more freshness or dressing would go a long way. The real standout was the bread. It was amazinggg! Fresh, warm, and made in-house, which makes all the difference. The restaurant itself is pretty big with plenty of tables. I went early in the morning, so it was calm and spacious. Not sure if it gets busier later in the day, but it definitely has room for a crowd. Service was exactly what you'd expect from a typical Chinatown spot: minimal conversation, quick, and straight to the point. Not warm and fuzzy, but efficient. I'd go back for the bread and the pâté alone, and with a small upgrade in meat quality, this place could be fantastic!

My family decided to try this restaurant because we heard about their famous dish, Bo ne or sizzling beef. At the first glance, the restaurant was clean and well organized with plenty of seats. We got served immediately. They have plenty of options to choose from, but of course, we went for the Bo ne, which was around $18. The serving came with less beef than I expected and two eggs, pate, a salad, and bread. The beef was tender and well seasoned, keep in mind that I am a person having plain taste. Their pate was mediocre. Their salad was actually better than the rest. Overall, nothing special about the main dish Bo ne. We did try another dish, rice vermicelli with grilled pork. The meat was dried. I have to take out one star because besides at the beginning, the waiter did not go to check on us at all. Overall, I don't think I will come back for Bo ne, but willingly want to try other dishes.

I was around this area and decided to try Bo Ne for the first time after seeing it become an increasingly popular Viet dish with more spots specializing in it popping up here and there. Excited to try, I was left a bit unimpressed with this location. The service was good, we were seated and served quickly. It might be in part because we were one of only 2 tables dining at the time during peak lunch hours, which was not a reassuring sign. The bo ne tasted fine, some sizzling beef and eggs on a hot iron plate with French bread and butter/pate on the side. "Fine" is the highest accolade I could give though, the portion was way too small for $17. The steak was tender, but slightly bland and not much color. It also took up a smaller portion of the plate than I was expecting. All these details painted a very average experience for me. It would make a decent quick lunch, but with prices like that and the competition they're facing in an area packed with Asian restaurants, I probably wouldn't return.

Good service, plenty of parking, their signature is steak & eggs which we did not get. But the items we ordered were pretty solid. It actually came with more veggies, it's just not pictured. I really enjoyed my meal here, fyi the bun cha Hanoi comes in like a bowl of fish sauce, which isn't a problem for me but I know people prefer fish sauce on the side. The pate was mid NGL. Would I come back? Yes I would, I definitely wouldn't mind trying out other menu items, and they also serve coffee as well!

We dropped in around one hour before closing time on Friday, 8:20 PM. There were no other customers in the restaurant. The server hesitated before confirming that they were still open for us to dine. We ordered drinks and ask him to come back. 5 mins later we placed our order. We ordered the famous Bo Ne Houston Original and a bowl of Bun Bo Hue. The food took about 10 minutes. The Bun Bo Hue was delicious, noodles cooked just right, plenty of meat, and soup was really good-not too spicy or sweet. The Bo Ne dish, beef chunks were cut weird, some slices were way too big to chew without cutting. The flavor was on point, seasoned very well. The bread was stale, after cooling down was kind of chewy. That's one of the highlight of this dish, is to lather the bread in butter and pate. I was kind of disappointed that they failed with keeping up the quality but chalked it up to late night. Our drinks were good, Vietnamese iced coffee and Vietnamese yogurt w/shaved ice - recommend both. Shortly after our food was delivered, another couple walked in. It took them 5 minutes to get someone to acknowledge them since the staff had dispersed to start cleaning. The customer had to call the restaurant to get someone to the front counter to service them. There was some back and forth before the server agreed to let them dine-in. At 8:50 PM another customer walked in and was promptly turned away. Note to self-call to make sure they're still accepting customers if dining after 8 PM.

Delicious food with a variety of different menu items. The Bo Ne was delicious and I highly recommend it. Parking can be challenging on the weekend. The restaurant is spacious and the staff are friendly.

I previously went to Bo Ne Houston many years ago when they were located on Beechnut, and I did not like it much. However, I was craving Bo Ne recently and decided to stop by because I was in the area and was curious about the new location. It is now located on Bellaire, in the same plaza as Cho Thanh Binh and Cho Tan Binh. I stopped by around 6pm on a Saturday evening for an early dinner for two. The restaurant was pretty empty when we went in, so we were quickly seated. Our server was nice, and it did not take long before we got our orders. We both got the Bo Ne Original. Each order comes with a salad, 2 large bread rolls, a cup of pate/butter, 2 eggs, and sliced steaks. The flavors of the salad and the steaks were not bad but leaning a bit on the bland side. The pate/butter spreads were also on the bland side. The breads were light and crispy. For around $17 a portion, we expected it to have a bit more steaks, but the meats barely covered half of the hot plate and were placed pretty loosely. The other half of the plate was pretty much just the eggs. We were absolutely not full when we left. Overall, it was okay, especially for the price/portion you get. This was probably a 3.2 out of 5 stars for me. I came in this time with not very high expectations for the Bo Ne due to the previous experience, and it definitely did not exceed my expectations. I probably won't come back because are much better Bo Ne places around town.

This spot seems authentic with only aunties and uncles dining in during the middle of the day. The walls have pictures of all the popular menu items plastered and overall the vibe was that the restaurant was legit. I came to get the small steak and eggs (bo ne) which came with a side of baguettes with pate and butter. The bread was super soft and chewy. The steak and eggs were good, but honestly underwhelming. There was a decent portion, but for $12 I think i'm better off making this dish at home.

Woke up with an insane craving for Bo Ne today, and this was the first thing that came up! Service was very quick! We were able to sit down, order, and eat fast. The Original Bo Ne came with a salad which was very refreshing. I personally enjoy a salad with a little more dressing, but if you don't I would suggest asking for less sauce since it can be a little salty. Overall everything tasted good!

In conversation about Banh Mi sandwiches, I got a tip to check this place out. I came by and got some BBQ chicken sandwiches, an order of French fries and coffee. Everything was good. The fries had the right crisp to em. The coffee had a great flavor to it. Pro tip- I would asked for less or light ice next time. The sandwiches were good. Crisp veggies, fresh bread. The meat was a little light on the portion front, but had great flavor. Like GREAT flavor. That liquid sauce was pretty good on it, took it to a whole extra level. They even had specials on the sandwich's which I absolutely love.

Whenever I visit Houston I haaaaaaave to come here. It's a must. This times I brought the whole family and every body loved it. Only difference I noticed was the bahn mi sandwiches had less meat. The bread is always still so delicious but it was very bready because of the lack of insides. Other than that, everything was great and the customer service was wonderful. It's always clean and always room to sit and joy.

Their bo ne was so good. The bread was so crisp, light and fresh. The beef was seasoned really well. I also liked their spring roll but their peanut sauce was not as peanuty as I would have liked. It tasted way more sweet than I was used to. The food came out pretty quick and they didn't really check up on us too much though. The inside was spacious and clean.

The ambiance is cozy as family owned restaurant in china town. Food is very accommodating to my taste. Fresh baguette butter homemade and pate. very attentive service which yields in and out seat turn over. Will be back and bring friends

We got the banh mi bo ne, what they're known for and we were not let down! It came with a salad which was good, but there was a little too much sauce. The banh mi itself was so yummy and I liked the mix of mayo/butter and pate they gave us. The meat was so tender and easy to swallow, which is exactly how it should be for bo ne. Wish the egg was a little bigger and the meat a little juicier but otherwise so yummy! The restaurant had a nice vibe, even with a mic and stand so perhaps they hold live singing some days/nights. I would've liked the see that.

Parking lot is a nightmare Spacious and clean ambience It was pretty slow for a late lunch time. Bo ne (original) the meat was kinda bland Banh xeo not bad lots of fillings and I like the sauce onion Eggroll was ok The bread was over toasted Menu is lots of option to cater different taste buds.

We had one of the best experience here as we visited it early around 9am. The fresh baked bread tasted delicious with the late and French butter. We also tried several dishes.

I stopped by on a Thursday evening around 6:30pm to pick up some banh mi to go since most other places were closed. I've only ever had the Bo ne here and figured it was good so why not try some sandwiches. There was only one table in the restaurant and I totally understand why. I ordered two banh mi cha lua's at $6 each and received two measly paper thin slices of cha lua in each banh mi! I literally busted out laughing when I unwrapped them at home because it was so crazy. DO NOT buy banh mi sandwiches from here.

BG: came here for lunch. I was originally going to get a Bo Ne (sizzling hot plate of egg, beef, and rice), because of their name, but decided to get crawfish instead since they have live crawfish. Inside was spacious no complaints. Service was fast just call that one guy over if you need anything. We ordered: 10 pounds of crawfish (spicy & regular garlic): $8/pound (promotion buy 5 lbs get 1 lb free) 9/10!! Flavor is a heavily garlic sweet Cajun. SO DIFF SO GOOD. Their sizes surpass the popular crawfish places in town right now! I was really surprised. Notes: spicy isn't spicy at all so if you want spicy order extra extra spicy. Regular garlic IS ALOT OF GARLIC so just take note of that. The top of the bag has less flavor than the middle and bottom of the bag. YALL this place surprised me. I wasn't expecting the flavor or the sizes to be good here! They only have one flavor, different spice levels, and different garlic levels. I didn't try the other dishes so I don't know if they are any good or not, but just from their crawfish they get 5 stars from me. I recommend giving their crawfish a try. They make it to order so it might be a little wait but so worth it!

Oct 2, 2023 Haven't been here since they moved into this new place; much bigger! Wish the owner was here... she might remember me coming here for her pate, even after I moved to Galveston (which i still live there!) Her son waited on me tonight, I told him this was my fav Vietnamese place I got 2 orders, spring rolls, and, of course, TWO orders of pate (liver with spices--soo good) served with French bread I also got what used to be her mung bean balls for dessert... but they're NOT the same. These are huge and no mung bean filling - SAD! These taste good, BUT I very much miss that filling...wish I had known that BEFORE I ordered FOUR!! LOL! Pate is soo good...tried sirracha on it...Yum! And this is THEE PLACE that turned me on to mung bean 12 years ago...oh well. One suggestion is to roll the spring rolls tighter---fell apart easily. Taste great just turned into salad!! Ha! 4 spring rolls, 4 desserts, 2 pate's and 1 water $38 (I remember when the prices were half of that)

The Bò Né Houston ($16.95) Sizzlin' Steak & Eggs, served with Salad, Baguette & Pâté, exceeded my expectations. Arriving on a Sunday noon, I was seated promptly, and the food arrived swiftly. The freshness of the salad complemented the sizzling steak and eggs, and the baguette with pâté was simply perfection. Loved how well it goes with the Vietnamese ice coffee too! looking forward to my next visit - a true gem worth returning to!

Trying out Bo Ne in Houston is an absolute must, in my opinion! My boyfriend and I came here for brunch on a weekday, and luckily, it wasn't too crowded. I would imagine this place gets very packed at brunch on the weekends though. We both ordered the "Bo Ne Houston (the Original)." We also ordered extra bread, which does cost extra. I can't imagine myself eating this meal often because it does feel a little heavy afterwards. I love everything that it comes with: steak, eggs, pate, and butter. It just all ties together so well, and you HAVE to eat it all with the bread. I also like the salad that comes on the side too! The salad was refreshing to eat with the meal. The service was great when we came. I will definitely be returning again.

We came in needing a quick bite to eat and came across this place for BoNe. Staff is really nice and attend to us in a timely manner. We decided to order the BoNe Houston and Com Bo Luc Lac. Their portions are somewhat small compared to other but the price point were good in my opinion. Wasn't overly expensive and I didn't leave out feeling sluggish or hungry. The BoNe was cut thinly. The Bo Luc Lac was a bit sweeter than I was expecting. It wasn't bad none the less. Their French bread and Mayo/pate were really good though. I am curious about their crawfish so may come back to try.

Houston we have a problem - I need eggs so I can start my day!! I love finding new places every time I visit Houston. If you love steak and eggs, I recommend giving this place a try. They have been opened for a really long time, but they decided to relocate to a new location in Bellaire. When you walked in, you are met with a huge mural on the wall that has the name of the restaurant and gives all the vibes. My husband recommended us trying this place cause they are known for their Bo Ne. We were greeted by a sweet little older lady who sat us right away. The menu is not huge, but we were only there for this one item. We ordered the Bo Ne, Banh Bot Chein & a Ca Phe Sua Da. There are four different Bo Ne we ordered the OG Bo Ne Houston and the Bo Ne Tre Em which is for kids. The difference between those two is only a salad, which is a few pieces of lettuce leaves a couple of tomatoes and some shredded onions, and a vinaigrette that you can add to your baguette to make your very own sandwich which is called a Banh Mi. The Bo Ne came out in a sizzling, hot cast-iron plate with melted butter to give it that extra sizzle and that yummy delicious melting your mouth taste. The kids portion is a little bit smaller and it did not have as much butter on it, but that did not affect the taste. They both tasted the same and were both still good. As for the Banh Bot Chien in my opinion it seemed as if the rice patties were overcooked and the egg omelette around it with a little dry so we did not end up eating it all. Also the Ca Phe Sua Da was ok I was expecting it to come out hot on one of those slow drips, but it actually already came out in the plastic cup with ice so I think it was already premade and refrigerated and poured over ice which to me it just made it taste different. All in all the service was great. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. We did go on a Sunday afternoon. We liked our famous Bo Ne that there was nothing to take home. Also, if you're wondering where that name came from Bo means cow Ne means dodging. Which then means that this plate translates to dodging beef which is funny because I was dodging the splatters of the butter that were popping off of the sizzling cast-iron skillet, and it just made me laugh, as if I was dodging the cow which is the beef moo moo. Then as we were checking out at the counter, the nice lady did show us the size of their crawfish and asked us if we wanted any and that's where we took a picture of it. They were a good size, but we were just too stuffed to order any crawfish. I would recommend trying this place out that he do have other options if you're not down for steak and eggs I do plan on returning back to try other dishes on my next trip to Texas.

This place was trash. For starters the server would do things one at a time. He brought menus then came back to order drinks then came back with drinks and then came back later to take our order. When we ordered he failed inform us that there has been menu changes. Thank goodness I asked. Also someone in a prior review said best crawfish so I ordered a couple pounds and they were so old. When crawfish is just reheated you can tell. Save your money and go somewhere else.

For a place that's namesake is all about the main dish, this was highly disappointing We had the special 'Bo Ne' with extras and everything came out, but bland and seemed uneventful. We came hungry and wanting this, and it still didn't taste good The bread/pate appetizer was fair, but neither the butter/pate had that rich taste one is accustomed to, and the bread was ok The most disappointment was the Beef, where you more expected succulent cubes of marinated tender beef was actually fragments of beef sautéed to be not very flavorful. The extra 'beef ball' (Xiu Mai) came separately in a bowl of broth and was also flavorless Our usual spot for Bo Ne (will not mention here, out of respect), was closed on Tuesdays, so wanted to give this spot an opportunity to gain our business, but we will probably pass on this, in the future. Service was uneventful also

I've been coming here for years and the consistency has been on point! They cook the eggs to my liking and their baguettes are served with a crunchy outside and warm and fluffy inside bread. They do offer other meals like banh mi, beef stew, banh xeo,, spicy noodles. Throughout the years prices have increased, this entire pictured meal for 2 was $40.

You have to drive around some continuing construction in the parking lot, but the increased space is comfortable. The beef is still sizzling and the bread baked perfectly. Plenty of elbow room now, but I don't know if the Landlord permits the tenants to again feed the birds. (They can't stop ME from dropping some crumbs, though, can they? )

Amazing food and friendly service always! If you need something just ask. Great family setting and child friendly. Very cool wall art as well.

I was full when i came here but I finished half portion of my husband's Bo Ne and a whole bowl of Banh Canh. The taste of both dishes were at the right point where your tongue would tell you to eat them all up. Price is a little high but worth it. Highly recommend!!! I supposed to post a better picture but food looks so tempting . Gotta eat right the way!!! Btw, you should go into their restroom and take a look. My husband said it looks like Bellagio's restroom in Las Vegas. One more thing that I like it here is their bread are fresh make from their own restaurant

This place is name after their signature dish yet the dish itself was not up to par. We came here the day after Labor Day and it was 2 other tables there when we arrived. There was a lot of dirty tables so we assumed we got here after their rush. There was only 2 servers working and they were nice. They were busy prepping the other tables sides that they didn't see us or acknowledged us; which is. They told us to sit anywhere and offered us water and etc. we ordered bánh xèo and the bò né special. Bánh xèo was weird, it was filled with so much onion. I didn't even know people put that much in there; I would've ask for no onion if I know. The ratio of onions outdo the bean sprouts. I'm used to bánh xèo being served with the Asian lettuce but this place served it with iceberg lettuce. Their bò né is even worse, it has no flavors! The only thing that was good was the butter, pâté and the xíu mại. The dish itself supposed to come with a little sauce but nothing. The meat was tasteless and dry so we didn't even finished it. I feel like this place could've been great but because they offered so much varieties that they're just ok. They're always busy so I guess other people don't care about quality like that. Someone recommended this place for their bò né which is their special. Me and my friend both had the combo which came with steak, sausage & a meatball. The bread came out super fresh and warm, it's served with pâté and butter. You can eat it however you like but I like to put it on my bread and eat the steak & eggs on the bread. Overall it was pretty good, the steak could've used more sauce maybe. I liked the meatball and the broth it came in, it was good for dipping the extra bread in. Overall was a solid experience.

I think this place is at least a 3.5 but just shy from 4. Service is great. Server was prompt and attentive. Basics were stocked on the tables and they were clean. Place is massive. I was craving pho but decided to go here and try bo ne which my husband hasn't tried before. We ordered the bo ne combo. Came with a lot of food. Salad, beef with lapchong and sausage, 1 meatball and two French breads with pate/butter. For me, it was ok, 2.5/5. Decent enough to enjoy cause the eggs were cooked perfectly though it should've had more sizzle like at other places. The meatball needed salt but it was tender. I still prefer thim hing for their meatballs. So good over there... The bot chien was 3/5. The rice cakes were cooked very crispy and thinly sliced. I've had it at places where they were thicker and the rice cakes were softer but their sauce was amazing. I wish I dipped the meatball in it. Would've been tasty!!!! The showstopper for me was the bun thit nuong...I know, it's weird going to a bo ne spot and getting bun but my toddler loves the noodles. Quit hating. The pork was soooooooooo tasty. I was so happy I ordered it. The pork was sweet and savory and juicy. I wish it would've been more charred but idc. It was damn good. Better than other places who specialize in the pork. I'd order other pork dishes..especially the com!!!!

The com chien bo luc lac was disappointing. Rice was dry and the beef was served as slices which was not how it was suppose to look like. Barely any eggs in the fried rice

It has been a couple years since I came back here. I introduced my husband to Bo Ne today and he absolutely loves it. Reminds him of "banh mi." Of course it's super similar, almost has all the ingredients to do so. I told him this is like a popular breakfast that my family and I enjoy. He likes it and I'm glad. The visit today, I got the Bo ne combo and it came with two runny eggs, plenty of tender beef, sausage and Chinese sausage with meatball served separately. Bursting full of flavors! I didn't need to add salt or any soy sauce like I usually do. Their butter and pate are delicious as well! I loved every bite. It helped that their bread is also very fresh! My husband ordered the Bo Trum Men and that is basically beef covered with mushrooms. I never had this order before so I was excited to steal a couple bites from him (hehe). Oh man, it was super flavorful and delicious. I might order this next time I come back haha.

Great brunch place. The paintings on the wall make it fun to look at while you're waiting for food. Although, the wait wasn't super long and staff were nice. The butter/pate were delicious to spread onto the bread. The bread came out warm and fresh. Make the perfect bite by adding a piece of meat and egg!

Best bahn mi in bellaire! So fresh and the butter mayo is so delicious! The lady's who's work her had excellent customer service!!

Finally get to try out this breakfast place. The new restaurant is located off of Bellaire Blvd near Cook Rd. Service was friendly and fast. We ordered the famous: The Original Bo Ne and The Original Bo Ne Combo. The original came with 2 eggs, tenderized beef, and Chinese sausage. The combo came with the same, but also a side of meatballs. Both dishes came with salads on the side. Loved both dishes, but the baguettes were most memorable. They were served toasted, crunchy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. The bread came with freshly made butter and pâté. We will definitely be back to try their sandwiches.

The service was super quick and the people were nice. The restaurant is very spacious and had plenty of seating. Parking was a little hard but not impossible. The food wasn't bad. We enjoyed the salad. However, the bo ne could have used some more seasoning and a little more sauce. The bread and pate was good. We ordered some to-go with us. Overall, we had better but there are other aspects that helped.

Bo Ne Houston claims to have "the original" and "best steak and eggs" as their business slogan suggests. My wife and I wanted to put this claim to the test, so we came to Bo Ne Houston on a Sunday afternoon. They are located in a strip plaza near Chinatown and have a shared parking lot with its neighboring businesses. We were able to snag a table pretty easily, and I ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee: +Ca-Phe Sua Da (iced cafe au lait) for $4.25 - This coffee was pretty strong, but it tasted good. It was pre-mixed in a plastic cup with ice, so customers cannot control how much condensed milk can be added. 4/5 As for food, we each ordered: +The Original Bo Ne Houston (sizzlin' steak and eggs served w/ salad, baguette, and pâté) for $14 - They first served the salad on a plate which was simple lettuce and some sweet dressing. This was ok. The lettuce was quite large, so trying to bite into it with the dressing made a bit of a splashy mess. I wish they cut up their lettuces more bite-sized. Next, they served baguette with pate and I believe, butter. The bread was really plain, so adding the butter and pate was a must. However, I didn't enjoy the taste of the pate much. Finally, they came out with a sizzling plate of steak and eggs. The meat tasted weird to me and had a lumpy texture. I didn't enjoy it at all and ended up not finishing it. 2/5 Overall, Bo Ne Houston didn't end up having the best steak and eggs. I did like my iced coffee, but that was about it. I tried to give this place a chance, but unfortunately, I couldn't finish my food. If you're truly looking for the best steak and eggs, Bo Ne Houston is not it.

One of my favorite meals on our trip. I haven't done much exploring with Vietnamese cuisine, so I only discovered what Bo Ne was when I went searching for restaurants to bookmark for our trip to Houston. Shame on me. Bo Ne. Vietnamese steak and eggs. The best breakfast I've had in a long time. It comes with a salad, plenty of bread for the butter and pate spread. The salad was good, but I rather fill up with the bread and pate..lol. I loved the pate and butter. My kids did too. We all got Bo Ne except daughter who got chicken curry. It was pretty good, but just gimme Bo Ne..lol. My steak was tender and cooked perfectly as well as the sunny side up eggs. Breakfast was perfect.

I was not hip to this place nor the popular dishes here until some family from H town mentioned Bo Ne. We ordered the combination, Houston and the small Bo Ne. They give you a lot of food per dish. A small green salad, sausages or steak, and 2 sunny side up eggs. The bread here is really fresh and airy on the inside. They give you plenty of bread per entree. I recommend adding the pate, butter, runny egg and meat onto each slide of bread to make yourself a nice sandwich. Flavors here are on point. I didn't need any more salt or soy sauce for the dishes. The sausages and steak meats were seasoned perfectly. Service here is really great. I ordered and got my food in under 10 minutes even on a busy Saturday. They feature vegetarian dishes and an extensive menu with plenty of traditional Vietnamese entrees as well. I really enjoyed my experience here. Prices are reasonable and service is on point. Parking is really easy to find as they have a wide open lot. I'll definitely be back to try their banh mi.

Definitely my new favorite place for breakfast! I had always been wanting to try this vietnamese breakfast place but just never made time to go. I finally had a chance to go with my family since they were visiting Houston. When we came here, we asked for a table of 6 which we were able to be seated quickly because they had a long table ready. The restaurant was very busy but service was not too bad. The lady was still attentive to bring us all of our orders. The bread unfortunately wasn't toasted long enough so it was hot but not crispy. My dad would have liked to have the bread more crispy. I would have also liked to have the plate sizzling when it came out to get that experience of a hot plate. They brought out a salad that was delicious with a vinagrette dressing, then the meatball that came with the Bo Ne combo meal. We got 3 baskets of bread which had 3-4 rolls in it and 1 container of half pate and half butter with it for each person which was nice. We would have needed an extra one with the amount of bread that was given to us. The food was delicious however, and the second time I came here with my boyfriend the food was definitely better. The plate was sizzling and the bread was more toasted because the restaurant wasn't so busy this second time around. I definitely enjoy the food here so it's really good. Definitely recommend it to anyone but not large groups more than 6 people. The restaurant is small and family run it seems and they do offer more food other than steak and eggs.

Definitely come here if you want to have the Bo Ne experience. However, I often get their delicious baguettes, bo mayonnaise, and pate to make my own banh mi at home as well.

I have to give this place 5 stars because of their pate and bo. I also love their bread! I came here for breakfast but I wasn't craving bo ne, so I ordered a banh xeo. I didn't have high expectations because this isn't their specialty, but it was so good and the banh was so crispy! My boyfriend told me to take out the mung bean, but I really don't mind it. I ate it and I didn't even notice there was mung bean in there. They give you fresh lettuce and herbs to go with it. They also really stuffed the banh xeo! The side salad is simple, but a yummy side to go with bo ne. The server was so nice and she came back to our table to make sure our order was correct since we had a big group. We really appreciated it, otherwise one person wouldn't have gotten his order. I wish they put more bo than pate in their container. I could eat bread, pate, and bo all day here! It's to die for!

A Houston institution that spread the popularity of Bo Ne in Houston. We got Bo Steak, which I feel worth the premium as the Ribeye we got is tender and super tasty. We have to try the traditional Banh Canh because it's Vanessa's favorite, which they do a decent job, but I would say there are too many better options, the soup really hits the spot though.

Bo Ne has not only become one of H-Town's more well known Viet spots but has managed to garner quite a bit of attention for their infamous Vietnamese "steak and eggs." It has become an influential dish for many who have come through town and has inspired eateries in SF, NYC, and even Los Angeles. Like many classic Houston establishments, Bo Ne is part of a strip mall. This means plenty of parking and typically, quite a bit of space. The tall ceilings, big tables, and funky decor are evident throughout the interior. They have quite the local following, which includes a steady stream of regulars coming for breakfast and lunch. The steak and eggs is served on a skillet, typically with chunks of beef (almost like bo luc lac) and two over-easy eggs sizzling away. Accompanying the plate may be my favorite item of all: fresh baked bread (banh mi) served with a side of pate and butter. The latter is so good together that it really makes the meal next level. I always have to ask for extra. For $16, one can indulge on the combination steak and eggs, which comes with hot dogs, sausages, and more beef. Mash it all up together with the soft yolks of the eggs with the pate and butter and the bread and this is a meal fit for champions. The service is generally pretty good. Sometimes when they're busy, it's hard to flag down the staff, but generally good for the most part. Despite the influence, I'm glad most of the other cities still haven't caught up to this classic spot. Bo Ne is truly a legend in Houston.
