Lovely old-town charm and ambience, delicious food (the turkey avocado sandwich is AMAZING as was the charcuterie!), and very friendly and helpful service. We will be back! The Merlot Bellavitano and Brie with honey, pecans, and cranberries were our favorites! The Coppa was too floral-tasting for us, but it is apparently popular as well. :)

The food was amazing. I got try what I would consider exotic cheeses that I never knew existed before. Highly recommend the flat bread.

We had the absolute best experience hosting our Little Black Book: Women in Business Quarterly Mix & Mingle at Boarding House Bistro in downtown O’Fallon. They generously welcomed us for a private event supporting a local nonprofit, and it turned out to be one of our most successful and well-loved gatherings. Julie and Kaylee were incredible from start to finish… helping us set up, checking in on us throughout the night, and making sure everything ran smoothly. The food and drinks were delicious, and Chrissy, the owner, is so gracious and welcoming. Boarding House Bistro truly knows how to create a warm, inviting space for meaningful connection. We’re so grateful for their support.

This place is definitely a hit amongst the townsfolk. It became crowded early in the evening. There's a great diversity of cheeses, specialty crackers, and a great bar selection. The wait staff was lacking due to the fact that there was only 2 waiters. This was my 1st time here, and from the look of things, I am sure that it gets busy on the weekend. I feel there should have been more help. Overall it was a nice experience.

Cree Rider for live music was awesome! I sat at the bar and had amazing service! She gave wonderful recommendations and was extremely attentive! The cocktails were delicious!

Such a cute spot for a date night -- delicious drinks and charcuterie boards. Also happy to accommodate vegetarian requests w the nicest employees. The bbq chipotle pistachios are a must try! Highly recommend stopping in for a date night! Update - went back - just as great!

My favorite place in the area. Comfortable seating, amazing menu, delicious food, gorgeous cocktails, friendly service, and chill atmosphere. Carryout boards are a big hit, too. Just an all-around class act. You won't be disappointed.

I have been here numerous times. The drinks were fantastic as always. They are good with have local beers my husband appreciates. The charcuterie boards OUTSTANDING. That is how she started her business and she just keep improving. The ambiance is very romantic and very girl group friendly. There are two building next to each other. The one by the parking lot is very quaint and quiet while the one next door is like a speakeasy. The speakeasy is wonderfully decorated but it is nosier. Especially us there is a group of women. Which there is often on a Friday night. I have seen them make an outstanding 3 feet multi level charcuterie boards. It is impressive what they can do.

An absolute must do!! If you love wine or charcuterie, this is the place for you. Our server/bartender was absolutely amazing. Very helpful with the menu, making excellent suggestions, and she made a fantastic cocktail. The space is dark with heavy wood and exposed brick. A big bar and cozy tables make for an inviting space. So, the concept is pretty simple: pick two pick three pick four items which are then filled in with crackers, toasts, nuts, berries, and dried fruit. The pick four board plus a flat bread was a perfect lunch for three people. There are appetizers, flatbreads, sandwiches, and salads if charcuterie isn't your thing, or you need just a little more sustenance. It's a few minutes from St. Louis but definitely worth the drive.

Boarding House is a unique experience. They specialize in charcuterie boards, and have an extensive wine, cocktail and beer offering as accompaniment. It's actually two distinct spaces- one a small, cozy, intimate setting with 4-5 tables and a small bar, the other a bit larger and accommodates occasional live music. Located in the historic O'Fallon, IL area, I'm really not aware of anything quite like it on either side of the river. We had dinner in the smaller space last night. While we love the charcuterie boards we branched out and shared a house salad and the Italian Pig flatbread (tomato, garlic, cheddar, pepperoni and pancetta), accompanied by a couple of their special cocktails. Food and drink were excellent, and service was attentive and friendly as always. One of our very favorites in the metro east!

Two sided charcuterie place. One small and intimate, the other loud and narrow. Beautiful charcuteries for sure and great drinks. Affordable too. Service can be stretched thin when busy so be patient. Careful not to over order. The trays are filling. We will go back again, but not on a weekend. The night we went on a Saturday was busy loud and made louder by the live music. Left feeling like we did when we leave a concert. Ha

Finally made my way to visit. We did the pick 4 board. Lots of cheeses and meats to choose from. We weren't disappointed. We did have our server suggest the meats. We enjoyed them all. We ran out of crackers but they gladly provided more. Service was ok. We were ready for another bottle of wine long before we were asked. There is a nice bar area and then another 'dining' side. Both are nice areas to enjoy. We did take our last bottle out to the patio area. It is well decorated and clean. Only downfall- they close a bit early. I would return

Visited Boarding House Bistro last night for the first time and had a wonderful experience. I believe our server's name was Liz, and she did an awesome job taking care of us, making recommendations, and helping us with pronunciation! We chose the pick 4 meats and cheeses charcuterie board. The gjetost (pronounced yay-toast) was the real MVP. The boards are full and beautifully arranged. We also ordered cocktails, a garden tea party, which I enjoyed and an old fashioned for my souse. Their drinks are STRONG, which I appreciate, but go slow. We sat outside as is our want, and snagged the last outdoor table. They also have a nice ambiance inside but we didn't explore as much inside. I will be back asap to try their baked Brie, which I love and perhaps their soft pretzels!

Took my mother there for lunch it is her favorite place to have lunch and hangout .the service is good no complaint's .

Boarding House has been such a welcome addition to downtown O'Fallon! Their expansion to add the Charcuterie Bar is lovely. The decor is cozy, the service is great, and we were happy to see the expanded menu. We stopped in early for a drink and snacks. Our server was bubbly and prompt, and she suggested the side car for my husband. I had the French 75. Both were strong and full of flavor! We were indecisive on charcuterie choices so we picked the 'surprise me' option. The stand out favorite was the red wine salami. It was so flavorful! We loved mixing and matching the cheese, meats, and accompaniments. We had 3 meats and 3 cheeses. It was the perfect size for the two of us. We also caught the first few songs of the evening's live music which just added to the cozy ambience. Love the added charm and great service right here in O'Fallon!

Went with a couple of coworkers on a Thursday after work. Really cute place in downtown Ofallon. There was a group of ladies celebrating a 40th birthday that were soooo loud, a family seated behind us opted for a different table Food portions were smaller than I expected. But everything was really good, great for a date night. Expect to spend a little more than typical. Our server was great. We got lemon drop martinis but served with tequila instead. Yummmyyy

Can not find this experience in St. Louis! Drove from St Charles, MO to meet friends in O'Fallon, IL for dinner before attending a marching band competition at the near-by O'Fallon High School. We chose the 4 meat/4 cheese board. The flavored goat cheeses were our favorites. A lil upset there were no condiments and only crackers on the board, but the preserves and grilled bread were only $1 add-ons. We split this board for dinner and were both full with left-overs. Our bill was around $40. The dinning area was quite small with 4 high-top tables just inside the entrance and a 4 seat bar in the next room. There was outdoor seating, but we sat inside. I plan to return very soon for more goat cheese. I also wish the brunch board was available every day, all day, not just a few hours on weekends.

Used to to here quite a lot. Went today and were sat next to the loudest, stupidest table you can imagine. The owners clearly knew them because we were ignored despite being there before them. We were forced to sit outside because of the noise, where we were served a charcuterie board without knives or plates. Won't be back since they seem incapable of controlling their guests. ​​

Awesome spot in downtown O'Fallon. Great meat and cheese trays and an awesome drink menu. A perfect spot for a relaxing night with charcuterie in a quaint and quiet setting. The menu is small but loaded with options for your board. If you don't know exactly what to order, let the awesome staff provide recommendations - you won't be let down. Expanding into the space by the end of October, so there's no excuse.

This is a cute little charcuterie and wine bar in downtown O'Fallon and it is a great little place! On Tuesdays and Wednesdays they offer free mini charcuterie samplers with an alcoholic drink purchase which is very cool! They also have some affordable charcuterie boards starting at $12 which to me is fair pricing. Some of these Charcuterie boards on menus are outrageously priced, and I would rather by a full entrée instead of spending a large amount of money on carefully crafted meat and cheese but I would recommend Boarding House Bistro any day to anyone. Their wine by the glass is realistically priced, which is great, you can visit here multiple times a week and not feel financially guilty for it. They also have wine by the bottle you can purchase and other small gifts, so definitely check it out! It is a great place to meet up with work buddies or friends after work or on the weekends!

I placed a special order on the website for a charcuterie board. The one I ordered was $65. When I picked it up, I was really disappointed that it was in a small, cardboard box. There was no board under it, it was just in a cardboard box. It was beautiful, don't get me wrong, but I literally had to put it on a nice plate and cut the box off around it so it looked nice enough to put on the table. For $65, I would think they could invest in some cheap boards to put under it, so you can serve it at a party without messing it up having to try to transfer it to a nicer dish. Just my opinion, but out of all the food I served, the charcuterie was touched the least. I feel like I just wasted my money on something no one ate bc it was in a box!!

Wow...we loved this place! We recently found out about this place and we are so glad we finally checked it out. Service was amazing and food was even better. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. #hiddengem

Very, very small bistro. Three tables small bar. Innovative menu. Everything looked good service was relatively quick. This was an afternoon visit with four people in the place at two different tables. The three employees working while we were there were ok but just seemed as if they couldn't keep up with their jobs. This was with four customers I can't imagine what it's like if they get busy. Let's talk about the restroom. Do you remember telephone booths? Well I now know where at least one booth ended up. It's the unisex bathroom in the restaurant. Handicapped accessible are you kidding. Apparently OFallon Il is the only area in the state where handicap accessible restrooms are not required. Would I visit again for a takeout yes.

We can't get enough of this amazing little place. Especially with the holidays coming up, this is a must-visit. I'll set the scene - it's lightly snowing outside. You walk up the short stairs to the welcoming front door hand-in-hand with your partner. When you walk inside, the smell of baking dough and cranberry hits your nose. You're instantly warm, cozy, and ready to spend some time sitting at a table and sipping drinks while you look outside at the gentle snow and imagine you're sitting in a small-town nook in Aspen. Or Connecticut. Or some other place where it snows. This place has everything - a fantastic whiskey & bourbon collection, amazing food and snacks (all of the pigs on a blanket are a good choice - don't worry, I sampled them all for you), and if you find a cheese you're particularly attached to, you can head to the back and purchase some to take home! Seasonal cocktails are creative but not overwhelming taste-wise. Well-made and easy to sip for a while. Our staple favorite is the Old Fashioned. Everyone who works here is amazing and will help you find the perfect drink if you're on the fence! We'll be back as many times as we can - this is also a great place to pick up a bottle or bar gadget as a gift!

I love this spot! The decor is warm and fancy but still casual. Everyone who works there is really sweet and give great recommendations. Peyton in particular recommended the best drinks and dishes! She was super sweet and attentive but not overbearing. I like their house wine (also only $6 per glass) and their cocktails. There's a dish called something like "everything but the sandwich" or something like that, and it was unexpectedly delicious. Absolutely delicious! Well seasoned and perfectly moist. I've gotten the charcuterie boards a couple of times, and got the one with the pretzel this time. I wasn't crazy about the pretzel itself but the meat and cheese were all good. This is a GREAT place to eat lightly while catching up with your girlfriends or parents (I've done both, haha). I'm glad they are growing and expanded their seating!

This place is a hidden gem. Super cozy inside and looks to be expanding the seating area in the future. Our board was the brunch Mimosa board, the sweeter of the two brunch options. Let me tell you those waffle pieces are top notch! Very nice spread and variety. Already ordered one for Mother's Day brunch!

What a lovely gem of a lounge! Super cute inside, great wine selections and whiskeys! Food was great, meat and cheese tray hit the spot. High quality meats and cheese to select from, even gave us a sample of a another cheese for free. Had gluten free crackers as I have an allergy! Highly recommend and this will be a go to spot for us! Can't wait to enjoy the outside seating areas later at night!

I picked up a box yesterday and it was great! We did the $40 box for 2 and we had leftovers! I am really excited this place opened. This is the perfect place to stop before a picnic or just to have an easy and pretty dinner. The workers seem to know a lot about their product and I do not. With that being said, it would be cool to see in the future if they had suggestions for pairings online. Like this meat is excellent with these two or three cheeses. I felt like I used my best judgement to create the box, but a little guidance would have helped. Maybe I missed this online? Anyways,I realized you can't go wrong here. I also noticed their alcohol menu is expansive in the area of whiskey/bourbon. Overall, excellent! Will be back!

We had an amazing experience here! We had wine, house drinks, a charcuterie board, and some flat breads! The service, drinks, and food were exceptional! We sat at the bar, and enjoyed conversation with the bartenders. They were awesome! We will be returning soon.

Had an all ladies outing with a group of 12ppl. The charcuterie boards were of good quality and well done. Make sure to try the merlot cheese. A wide-variety of wine and other bvgs for all tastes were offered. We were able to taste some of the cheeses and speak with the ladies to get pairing recommendations. It is a quaint est. w/great vibes. The owners are attentive and work to make your experience a good one. Best kept secret in town!

I have been to The Boarding House multiple times and I have loved every experience. It is a great place for a girls' night or a date night. The staff are incredibly friendly and they are very accommodating to food sensitivities. Their charcuterie boards are beautiful and would be great to pick up for house parties! I have made the is place a staple in my restaurant rotation.

This place was so unique! What a great place to meet and hang out with friends. The charcuterie boards were amazing!!! You could pick what meats and cheeses you wanted and then they added the extras. Loved it!
