I just discovered this place after many years of living in the area. I came in search of a piece of reclaimed wood for a coffee table, and had read some of the reviews, so wasn't expecting that for such a small need, that I would get any attention. I wandered around the warehouse, lost in the beautiful array of hardwoods, doors, custom mantels, and small section of iron work. This was paradise, for anyone with an imagination in design. I came upon a hidden treasure behind some beams, perfect for my little project. I then realized that while I was happy not to be bothered by sales people, while I walked through dreaming about the endless possibilities of each piece of wood, that I now needed to find some help. Moments later I approached a gentleman, Ronnie, about the price of my find, and he said he would be back. It took a while, but I could see how busy they were, and I thought, oh great, here we go, I'm going to be forgotten, however, he got back with a manager, Michael, and they both couldn't have been more helpful. Even gave me a name of an exterior carpenter they recommended. Don't go there expecting immediate attention. Go there to find a specific want, or to fantasize about the beautiful paneling, stairways, wooden furniture, birdhouses, or whatever else your mind and talents can dream of building. Thanks so much Ronnie and Michael, I'll be back again to dream some more!

Not a good experience and would not recommend them. They created a wood wrap to make my 18 foot I-Beam between my new/open kitchen and great room look like a wood beam instead. The time estimates were strange, the responsiveness to questions was bad (borderline unprofessional), the stain did not look anything like the sample they provided and was different colors due to varying grains. I do not recommend them.

If you are picky with attention to details this is not a place for you to get any carpentry work done by this company. The mantel was not cut to the proper size. Paperwork was inexistent and can’t verify which measurements were originally provided. The ends of the mantel were covered with paper with a print of a wood grain?! Brackets were promised to be rounded on the edges, they were not. For the amount of money spent, and it’s a lot! These details should have be noticed. Unfortunately it looks like the place has 4 out of 5 star reviews which is deceiving, until you look at all 1 star reviews it’s seems like there are many of us that had a bad experience with this business and their customer service. Lastly, for promising to talk to the boss and see what we can do with mantel and not calling back, here is an honest review. Update: I received a call about the mantel, unfortunately we had to have it build at a different place.

They have a great selection of materials but their hardwood prices are 40% higher than other hardwood suppliers in the metro area

Needed some wide Mohagany stepping. To rebuild a turn of the century staircase on a brownstone project we have. Not many places can get such beautiful lumber. Called up board and beams and they had stock of it and is reasonably-priced! Worked with Steve "Z" (there are 3 Steve's) super nice guy and very helpful. The navigation brought us to the complex they are located in, but the signs are very small and the place is confusing. All in all worth the little aggravation to find the place.. I will update the final staircase when the project is completed. They also have a full selection of other species if wood, molding and sheet goods. Give them a try, if you know what your looking for.

Wood worker’s paradise. I came here because I needed hard maple pieces for a table I was building. This place had it all - every species of hardwoods and soft woods you can think of in all shapes and sizes. They even have a section of metal hardware and legs for furniture and slabs of live edge boards if you need them. One of the workers, Robert helped me cut pieces down to the right size I needed on their industrial saw. This saved me a bunch of work cutting it down manually. The cuts were not perfectly precise but good enough or me to sand and trim down to what I needed. This is where I will be my go-to spot from now on for all my woodworking needs.
