11 Best Street Food Spots in Bangkok

"Located behind a temple 10 minutes from crowded Victory Monument, Doy Kuay Teow Reua, a boat-noodle mecca, is tricky to find—just look for the blue awning out front. The open-air dining room has rows of tables covered with plastic tablecloths; there are also tables with umbrellas outside. At the back of the restaurant, the owner pays homage to the origins of boat noodles by cooking and serving from behind a makeshift longboat. Choose between pork or beef; they're equally addictive. Both meats are served in a charming chipped bowl filled with vegetables and glass noodles in a rich, flavorful broth; for more texture, toss in some complimentary pork cracklins or fried wontons." - Katie Lockhart

Went in and picked a table to my liking. The staff then handed over their menu and listed down my orders. Really thought of the combo of the ingredients through before coming to this place. 😂 So far, I'm quite satisfied with my choices. ✨️I ordered the ff.: - Flat Noodles (Sen-Yai) / Egg Noodles (Ba-Mee) + pork + lil bit spicy + Tom Yum soup - Rice Noodles (Sen-Mee) + beef + med. spicy + Dried noodles (Hang) - Small Noodles (Sen-Lek) + pork + lil bit spicy + Boat noodle soup (Nam-tok; broth w/ cow's or pig's blood) [this has the best broth for me] - 2 × Khanom Tuay [I really love this local dessert❣️ Taste a bit like PH's sapin-sapin; the salted coconut cream pairs really well with the sweet glutinous base 🤍] I also added a few crispy pork skin pieces (already on the table, along with fried wonton chips, khanom tuay, and bottled water; not free of charge btw) to my noodles, which added texture and flavor 💖 After eating, I called the server over for the payment, and I was immediately given my total. I then proceeded to the cashier (by the entrance), paid for my meal, and gave my thanks and compliments before leaving. 🙏 Such a fun experience ✨️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I was in the area and decided to try Boat Noodles – Toy Kuay Teow Ruea, and this was actually my first time trying real Thai food. The experience did not disappoint at all. The noodles were rich, flavorful, and came out super fast. You can tell this place is authentic from the first bite. The broth had so much depth, the portions were perfect, and the price was extremely affordable. It’s a simple spot but the quality of the food speaks for itself. If you’re nearby and want to try a true local Thai dish, this is definitely worth stopping by. I’d 100% come back again

Kop khun khrap 🗣️ We came from Germany and had HIGH expectations as we got blown away ! 15 Baht for a small bowl of delicious noodles in the best broth we have ever tasted. Located in a very welcoming, inviting looking place, where your food gets prepared on a traditional boat and the whole story began. The King of the Table felt like Po from Kung Fu Panda after finishing his tenth bowl of that deliciousness. Remember what Master Oogwey said : “Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mistery, but today is a Gift. That’s why it’s called present.” Our holy Gift on that day were those bowls of noodles ! Liebe Grüße an Bernd Zehner 😘

Visited in August 2024 Massive open air restaurant on the edge of a river. We were the first to arrive about 9am, we were somewhat sceptical because we were the only customers in a huge empty restaurant, until people started arriving for their breakfast orders. We had the most delicious soup broth with great condiments. The staff were lovely. We couldn't really understand each other but we got by. My daughter who was six at the time and a whole year later still talks about her boat noodle meal often. It was a fond memory for her. Highly recommend.

Very thick soup! Taste is OK, not mindblowing but good. No need to go out of the way to eat here. Price is very reasonable.

This place feels very local. You can tell from the location and the people who come here, mostly students and folks living nearby. The food is boat noodles with different flavors like tom yum and namtok, just like other boat noodle spots, but the taste here is stronger and spicier. I recommend going for the mild level if you don’t eat spicy. Each bowl is only 15 baht and the portion is not too small. Definitely better than many other boat noodle places. The service is also great, we went there when the restaurant was about to be closed but can still order and they did’t pressure us to leave early.

The best boat noodles I've had, ever. There's a reason this place is packed. The stock is rich and well curated. Extremely fair price. Will be coming back here.
