We love the pineapples fry rice, green curry chicken, and the chicken satay. Tom Yum Koog is okay. It would be nice if there was more flavor. Service was good.

A bit too westernized for my liking. Noodles was soggy and clumped up. Soup was very overwhelming and very full of MSG. Mango sticky rice was overnight rice, cold and hard inside. Not freshly made sticky rice. The best was the beef salad and chicken skewers.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolutely disgusted. I ordered through Uber Eats and nearly choked on a long rope hidden inside my spring roll that looked like a noodle. This is a serious safety issue, and the restaurant didn't seem to care that my health was compromised. They just said they'd inform their kitchen staff. I spent my Saturday night chasing a refund and dealing with Uber Eats for over an hour. Completely unacceptable for a food company to let this happen. Don't order from here. Also their spring rolls were greasy when I opened them before I even pulled out a rope from going down my throat and choking me. Sick. Update: The owner and staff did nothing about this and hardly cared. Said they’d tell their kitchen staff to be careful.

Ordered four foods, both of them are tasty and very special. Especially eggplant one. :) Thai milk tea also good and not very sweet. Nice atmosphere to have friends gathering. Staffs are good but at the end they prompt us to check the bills.

Call me Bob because this place is awesome! Every dish we had was authentic, tasty and served in under 15 minutes during the lunch rush. Staff were so friendly! 🤩

Google
Best Thai food in Vancouver hands down. Would really recommend the eggplant pad ka pao, drunken noodles, and the fresh lime and ginger soda. Super fresh ingredients and so flavourful!! Also very lovely staff. Will be coming back!

Google
Speaking for their pad thai only, Bob Likes Thai Food is probably the best price-quality ratio pad thai I have had in all of Vancouver. At $20 (01.30.2024) portions were perfect, and quality and freshness reflected the price well. Our server was excellent and so friendly, and made sure we knew that protein substitutions were free (!) I asked for extra spicy and mild for my girlfriend and it was done perfectly, and had a nice smokiness from the wok. Flavour was very bright and balanced, and definitely authentic. Not too sweet or sour, and the rice noodle had plenty of chew to them. We got a Thai Milk Ice Tea as well as a complimentary Thai Lime Ice Tea (thank you!), and both were great, but the lime was incredible. Highly recommend the lime version; unlike anything I've tried! A well deserved 5 ⭐️, will come back for sure🙏

Google
This restaurant is a straightforward, no-frills experience with minimal ambiance. It leans heavily on tradition, providing a simple and authentic atmosphere. The prices align well with the food quality, making it a decent match. While I wouldn’t call it a place for regular visits, it’s worth a try at least once. The food, in particular, stands out for its tastiness, offering a satisfying dining experience.

Yelp
I've always thought this restaurant seemed fun and got to give it a try today. The wooden interior is cozy and I feel like the decor is evoking a little bit genuine nostalgic feel and also a little humour. Our waiter was super nice and the other staff was also friendly. Walking to the washroom takes you right past the kitchen, which is interesting to take a look at but also may give some peace of mind that you can easily see exactly what's going on in there. Their menu is mostly the basic Thai dishes that you see at casual Thai restaurants in Canada, but I was really curious about their take on fish & chips and poutine, which sounded very unique compared to both other Thai food and the Canadian versions of these dishes. So this time I tried Bob's Fish & Chips: fried battered cod pieces topped with sliced mango, onion, basil, and chilies with two crispy curry rice cakes, in a tangy sauce. It's not a dish you'd recognize as fish & chips without the context, but I can see where the inspiration was drawn from. I thought it was really tasty! The vinegar sauce was zippy and refreshing and I really liked the flavour and crunchy "crust" of the rice balls. When I first got a look at it I was skeptical that it was really enough food to be worth $22, but the way they stacked the fish pieces was deceiving because there was actually a lot of fish, and I was fully satiated after finishing. I also tried their house tamarind ginger soda which was very good too! I was expecting it to be spicy like ginger beer and it was really mostly sweet because the tamarind is more pronounced than the ginger, but still a tasty and refreshing drink. My friend got the Chicken Cashew Nut for her meal and enjoyed it as well. There was enough that she ate only half and saved the rest (although she's not a big eater - I think with my appetite I could've finished it or nearly finished it but been very full). I'd say it's a safe bet for standard Thai food, and if you want to get a little experimental, the Fish & Chips is definitely worth trying. The positive atmosphere ties it all together.

Yelp
I ordered take out here so can't speak on the service and ambiance. For the food, we ordered shrimp pad Thai, fried spring rolls and the green curry. The pad Thai was actually great- I thoroughly enjoyed it. The spring rolls were huge but a little too oily and I wish the filling had a bit more flavor to it. The green curry was super basic, maybe even a little bland. Overall, it was an average experience but was a little disappointed considering I heard this was one of the best Thai food restaurants in Vancouver.
google avatar

Yelp
A decent place for Thai food in Vancouver. We got the green curry chicken and although it wasn't bad, I felt that the curry could have had more flavour and the chicken a bit more tender. The staff were all very nice and they had a good sitting space.

Yelp
It was our first time to try the Thai food here. We ordered a pad si-ew with beef and drunken noodles with prawns (spicy) for lunch. We had to order takeout due to restrictions. As a result, we ate the food at an outdoor seating area in a small street along Main Street. The food was very delicious. I loved the chewy noodles. They were not overcooked. The restaurant also put a lot of ingredients to the dishes. Yummy!! I felt addicted to the food that I wanted to eat more and more; and I would like to come back and try other dishes It's a bit tough to find street parking here or on Main Street in general. Even the smaller streets have limits or restrictions on parking because of the residential areas, so you might have to park further away and walk down to the restaurant or Main Street.

Yelp
Amazing Thai food! The food at Bob Likes Thai Food was to die for. I came in with my friend after a long climbing session, and every bite was one I savoured in each moment. We headed into the restaurant and noticed it was in a very convenient location on Main Street. As we walked in, we noticed it had a family feel to the restaurant. I ordered one of the lunch specials with a pad thai. The two dishes were delicious and jam packed with rich flavours. The best part would have to be the thai iced tea. It had the aromatic punch of the thai tea with a good amount of sugar. The guest service was excellent! Definitely will come back again.

Yelp
Now and then you find a little gem of a restaurant and this place is one of them. It's a small place with a few seating inside as well as a few street table parking. You know it's good when it's open seven days a week and it is busy with people dining in as well as doing take-out. The chicken green curry can be substituted to be vegetarian. The sauce of the curry is amazing with the jasmine rice. The pad thai prawns was so flavourful. I really like that you can get the items in a single size or a bigger portion to share. During this hot day, I saw a lot of people ordering the thai ice tea which you can add milk to it or lime. It's on the stronger side, but really great on a hot day. This drink is just yummy and worth even dropping to get it to go !!

Yelp
If you are gluten free this is not the place for you. "Bob doesn't do gluten free." That's what it felt like. ...but the drunken noodles weren't much better. Overall, thumbs down. We came from Denver and were excited to try all the Asian fare. But Thai has been a let down for sure. Denver Thai is so much better and super tasty even made gluten free. Bob was so nice. That was a plus. But if you're gluten free I'd skip Bob.

Yelp
I tried the green, yellow, and red curry and they're all very delicious! My favourite is the yellow curry with fish. The fish is nicely fried and not mushy at all when combined with the curry. The red curry has a nice sweetness to it from the pineapple and lychee. My least favorite is the green one and its mostly because the chicken is quite dry.
google avatar

Yelp
Had take-out and found the food to be OK for the price. Not bad but also not mind blowing. however , would be able to satisfy a green curry craving :)

Yelp
Came here for some thai food and didnt expect it to be just okay though. Read some reviews and many of them are true. I got the pad thai as well as the chicken curry. The pad thai is pretty good actually like taste is one of the better ones, but it is just too wet. I personally like the pad thai to be kinda dryer than that its just more of the usual ones i eat in thailand. Furthermore, the curry is just basic though. The taste and all the inside is just okay. I wouldnt call it special. The coconut rice is pretty good but yeah i wouldnt complain for the price. Cheers!

Yelp
Had their shrimp Pad Thai this afternoon! Glad we went because I had previously checked out their lunch menu but there were only a short list of items on there and I really wanted Pad Thai for lunch. Today, I decided to walk in hoping there is a larger menu and there is in fact a huge variety of meals not listed online. Upon entering, I can smell the fiery wok and know this is going to be a great experience. The pad thai was delicious, not overly greasy and the shrimp were huge and they gave you lots. The portion is not ginormous but it was perfect for me. It was a good quality place and very satisfying. I also had the Thai Ice Tea and you have a choice of to add milk or lime. I went with lime and it was so refreshing and not overly sweet. The perfect pairing with my lunch today. My lunch companion had the Chicken Cashew on rice. I tried a cashew because I didn't want to fill up on rice and it was really tasty.

Yelp
This was $17. $17!! For one container of food. Not even rice. Wtf ? It used to come with salad, rice, tortilla chip for $15. Now it's $17 just for the chicken. I am astonished. I called the restaurant to confirm it wasn't just forgotten somehow, and the lady said rice costs extra now. Rice is so cheap I don't understand how they couldn't throw it in there .... It ended up being $45 for these 2 containers and we are left still hungry . What happened to you, bobs likes Thai food ? You've lost a faithful customer here.

Yelp
Little bit too hot inside. Food was good Sticky tables, server was super nice. Down to earth

Yelp
My FAV place to get take out from. The first time I tried it was when production ordered it on set and I've been OBSESSED ever since. My fav to order is the green chicken curry substituting tofu instead of chicken and adding veggies. As well as one of their staples - the papaya salad (because who doesn't love papaya salad duh!) The portions are huge so it's big enough to share. Be sure to add some rice, the coconut is my fav

Lori Y.

Yelp
This is the worst Thai food I have ever had. the beef dish was tough and the cut of meat was not as normal for thai. the pad Thai was really mostly noodles, though the prawns were good. Don't order from here.

Yelp
[Social distancing takeout review] We saw Bob Likes Thai Food's stall at the last car-free day we attended, maybe last year, and how crazy their lineup was then so mentally noted to try it sometime. When we thought about having Thai food, we remembered this place and thought to try it out and see what it's all about. I now understand why there was such a long line :) We ordered pad thai and pad see ew. The pad thai was great, not overly seasoned as I've experienced at some other restaurants, and nice crunchy prawns. I liked the pad see ew even more; it had a nice smoky taste to it - not like the burnt taste, but more of a cooked over barbecue, that kind of taste. I'd happily try more of the menu next time I want Thai food!

Yelp
Hello everyone it has been awhile since I have posted my restaurant food review, this time my husband and I was invited to a going away get together dinner party at Bob Likes Thai Food located on Main Street and East 22nd Ave in the City of Vancouver that was visited on Feb 27, 2020. We decided to order some appetizers to try so we ordered spring rolls, chicken satay, chicken wontons and the must try item which is called Miang Kham. As per the menu from Bob Likes Thai Food they stated Miam Kam is a traditional snack from Northern Thailand near the border with Myanmar. The name can be interpreted as meaning eating many things in one bite. As for main entree, my husband decided to order Guay Tiew Kua Gai with additional Prawns and as for myself I ordered Pad Si Ew with additional Pork. Overall, I rate this restaurant a 4.5 star out of 5 star reason being that the customer service was great and the food tastes amazing along with the food portion was just right. For my Pad Si Ew with additional with pork really tastes very good and I am very impressed with my noodles where there was wok taste which I love. Yelp
I've been meaning to stop in here for years, and I was happy I finally did. This is a cute little Thai restaurant that serves up some good options of food. It's busy and a little cramped, but you can get food to go as well. I had the Tom Yum soup (I think that's its name), which was packed with delicious spices, such as chili, ginger and basil as well as several mushrooms and a few prawns. I ordered the smaller size for $7 and added a side bowl of coconut rice for $4. It was delicious, filling and worth it. I'd like to come back and try some of their noodle dishes. They looked great. The service is also quite good, with someone refilling your water frequently.

Yelp
I came here because of their sticky rice on Instagram. A bit disappointed that it didn't look the same, restaurants should make visual presentation the same as what is posted on social media for consistency. Overall Price is decent for the food here and they have lunch menu which is cheaper Customer service: very sweet and kind, I wished they take our empty dishes instead of leaving it there until we were done, it was getting crowded when your dessert came out. Food: pad Thai, probably one of my favourite pad thais to eat in Vancouver Green curry with chicken: the chicken is a bit dry, small portions, I wouldn't order this dish again. I thought it was ok and basic. $1 more for their spring roll, which I liked. It was fresh and crispy with great flavours. Mango sticky rice: Delicious but wished the presentation was like their instagram (mainly came here for social media, but saw their food menu and wanted to try it out) Interior: it's cute, simple and have a wooden look to it

Yelp
Okay. So. These bite things we started with were AWWWESOMMME!!! So delicious and sweet and spicy and peanutty and healthy tasting. So good! My main dish was an eggplant dish that was quite good, but boy oh boy was it spicy. I liked it though. My lunch mates both had the pad Thai and they both thought it was delish. Ya! You should check out this place.

Yelp
Bob Likes Thai Food managed to convince me why Bob might like Thai food. Bob did it with efficiency, focusing on simple, traditional Thai flavours, and fast service. Bob didn't deliver anything I hadn't tasted before, but he'll probably satisfy anyone craving those particular flavours of southeast Asian fare in a casual environment. 3.5/5 from me! A good friend told me that he once had a terrible experience here a while back so I thought I'd challenge Bob and see what I'd find, keeping expectations low while keeping them open. I came in solo for lunch one day in the afternoon and was, to say the least, quickly tended to and served by the one server who was the only person I saw on the floor 90% of my 30 minute visit to Bob. Let me just say that this server was on fire! She waited all the tables by herself, transported dishes back and forth from the kitchen by herself, and ensured everyone's glasses were filled with water, taking care to ensure the entire front of house was kept smoothly moving along. She wasn't overly enthusiastic in her demeanor, but she just did her job and smiled occasionally. Now, on to the food. I opted for the green chicken curry with rice lunch special ($12.00), added a spring roll to the meal for $1.00, and also ordered the deep fried tofu ($7.00). The green curry dish was decently portioned and tasted exactly like I expected it to - slightly spicy, coconutty, smooth, yet distinguishably Thai. The curry was excellent and exactly what I was looking for! The salad that came with the meal seemed cheap, like they went to Save On Foods and just piled a bunch of random pre-washed greens on the plate. The same dressing they put on the salad was the same sauce that was drizzled on the spring roll so I found that kind of boring. The spring roll itself tasted like a spring roll should and was a needed addition to the meal to make up for the sad greens. The deep fried tofu for $7.00 was a fresh special that I decided to order since I figured I wouldn't be full just from the lunch special. The tofu came out exactly like I thought it would, in six large pieces, served with a sweet dipping sauce. The dipping sauce was a bit too bland for my liking and the tofu was not seasoned at all - it was just straight up plain tofu that was deep fried, but at least it was deep fried well. I probably wouldn't order it again, save the $7.00 and get a second lunch special or something. For $20.00 (excluding tip), I had a pretty okay meal. Aside from the slightly depressing salad and the tofu, I don't really have anything to complain about. They'll get you in and out the door decently satisfied. Bob Likes Thai isn't a bad place to stop if you like Thai.

Yelp
I was already sceptical when they were charging basically $20 for one of their favourites curry dishes more specifically the red curry duck but I mean to not include rice + a tiny little palm full of duck is just disappointing to say the very least. I could easily go to Viet House on Cambie and pay $18 for a full duck breast sliced in Curry with Rice so this place is a joke. The yellow fish curry was alright. The amount of fish was was not worth the $17 tag. Swimming Rama was delicious with the peanut sauce and crispy tofu. I loved it and felt like that was well portioned but for $16, I'd rather go to Sawasdee. I only decided to try this place because Sawasdee doesn't open until 5 but I certainly do not recommend this place. It's overpriced average Thai food.

Yelp
Ordered take out for an early dinner and it was ready in 15 minutes! We ordered the pad thai and the pad si-ew. However, we made them both vegetarian. So for the pad thai, we just had tofu instead of the prawns. For the pad si-ew, we were given the option of mixed vegetables instead of the pork. The food was really tasty. The vegetables in the pad si-ew wasn't overcooked and the beans still had some crunch to it. The dish was flavourful and I just really like the texture of the rice noodles. The pad thai was good too. They gave us two different types of tofu.

Dylan C.

Yelp
I have absolutely no idea how they think its okay to charge $17 dollars for this? I ordered this 3 days ago (dec 3rd) and it came with a salad, tortilla chips and rice. The portions were triple the size with much more love put into it. I jump uber eats today to find they changed the menu item from $13 - $17 i thought oh well Its so delicious it will be worth it.. BUT THEN this shows up at my door... Dont waste your time eating this. you will end up paying $60 for $12 of food... What changed overnight?? I feel like a victim almost this is highway robbery at its finest... 10/10 would NOT recommend unless you have a time machine

Yelp
Have only experienced this restaurant through take-out. During quarantine, I was really craving green curry and i've previously seen this restaurant voted as best Thai food in Vancouver. I ordered spring rolls and their Green Curry; the food was neatly packed, and the curry was very flavourful. I really like how they incorporated the egg plant and the curry itself hits most the elements of taste. The portion is perfect but for those who are hungry, I would suggest ordering an appetizer. Would love to have a dine in experience for a more in-depth review of the restaurant!

Yelp
The only other thai place I've been, and it was two years ago...but it was a great first experience! Came for lunch one Saturday afternoon (love that they open for lunch on weekends) and got the green curry and pad thai lunch specials. at only 12 dollars each and accompanied with a salad, we even had leftovers! (UPDATE: I THINK PAD THAI IS OFF THE LUNCH MENU) the green curry was very good not being too spicy but flavourful enough and full of chicken and veggies. the pad thai was also great (although i don't have much to compare to) because i didn't feel like it was full of ketchup! I'm not sure what they use but it was a really authentic flavour, wasn't clumpy or wet and was a great size! tried the maw-gang - taro root, coconut, egg and palm sugar - for dessert and it was surprisingly really good! the maw gang tasted like a custard/pudding/jello but wasn't too sweet and had a creamy consistency but wasn't runny. the taste of coconut and egg were prominent telling me i should be more adventurous when trying food!

Yelp
Thai food is one of those cravings that hit you SO hard out of nowhere...we just finished watching an early movie on Cambie and suddenly I just HAD to have some spicy food & Thai iced tea! Bob Likes Thai definitely does not disappoint in serving flavourful and authentic dishes, as well as refreshing drinks. It's worth paying a bit more for the coconut rice, too! Servers are always friendly & chat it up / joke with you a bit, but not so much that it gets obnoxious. For the price you pay it'd be nice to have slightly bigger portions (although I'm comparing it to other Asian restaurants, where as Thai tends to generally be a bit pricier). It's just cuz I can't get enough and want MORE! :)

Yelp
(Migrating old reviews from my account on another review site to here) Went for dinner today and got their Thai green curry chicken, ginger beef, and their pad thai. Asking them to make things peanut free was easy as can be, and everything was delicious. The beef was a little tough, but not bad. It's hard to pick my favourite between the curry and the pad thai...

Yelp
What's not to like?? We love this small Thai spot on Main Street. Had their Tom Ka Gai soup ($11 for large; $6 for small) for the first time today and was really pleased. So warm and soothing on an overcast Vancouver afternoon. (A tad more cilantro would have made it even better). In the past, I've tended to focus on their green curry chicken ($14). To say I'm obsessed with it would be an understatement. It's on the spicy side, but so delicious. You have to order the jasmine rice separately ($2.50). My partner really enjoys their pork pad ka pow ($14). And we've had their pad si-ew ($14) and been pleased as well. Also, I really like Bob's poutine, which is taro root chips dressed in a green curry sauce, though my partner is more indifferent. Though the prices seem a little high, the portions are huge. Our large soup was really filling.

Sukh R.

Yelp
So I got a lot of recommendations from friends to give this place a shot, because pad thai is one of my favourite dishes!! So we decided to go the location on Main Street. I think it is the original spot, and now there is one on Broadway. Another restaurant that lacks ambiance, and you hope will at least pull through with some amazing dishes...nope! The pad thai was definitely not he best I've had in the city. I wish we had gone to Swasdee instead, which was so close by!! There are so many other amazing Thai restaurants in the city, don't go here. Did I mention there were flies everywhere?

Yelp
Very good authentic Thai food Not as spicy as I would have liked. Catering to the less spicy palate.

Yelp
I was craving for Thai food on Sat noon, therefore, I searched in Yelp for a good Thai food on Main or Cambie Street. We ordered something fr lunch menu and found the foods were quite disappointing. Tom Yum Kung Soup - It was so watery and light taste. Green curry with chicken - the portion was so tiny and the curry wasn't good. Pad Thai - It was ok. Overall, the interior decor and menu is too simple and not impress at all.

Yelp
Easily the best Thai food in Vancouver. The yellow curry was the tastiest and richest I've ever eaten and the mango coconut sticky rice brought me right back to urban Los Angles. For the prices though, I was expecting rice with the curry and noddles with the chicken dishes, the only letdown.

Harry L.

Yelp
Who is bob? i may never know. whoever bob is he has pretty good taste tbh. this pad thai is one of the most pad thai tasting pad thai i have ever pad thaied. But then again, i am not thai. neither am I bob. it may not be authentic, super rustic, or affordable. it hits the right spots in my brain and thats all i care. i also ordered the papaya salad. I have never really heard of a papaya, much less a papaya salad. all i know is that it looks crunchy af and it sure was, but goddamn was it saltier than the ocean. 4/5.

Yelp
Really great spot. The food was delicious. I had suspicions when I saw the decor. But they convinced me with their pad Thai and green curry. I highly recommend.

Yelp
We heard good thing about this restaurant and decided to do takeout. We ordered the papaya salad, pad sew ew, masaman beef curry, and of course Thai ice tea! The restaurant closing time is 10. Yelp says 9, But their website says 10pm. I got there at 945 to pick up my food, the lady was very rushed which was strange since there was no one in the restaurant and everything was done. She was very flustered and stressed out. She even forgot my drink order. Had very limited eye and verbal contact. Pretty sure she just wanted to get out of there asap. Papaya salad It's Ok. It's not as crunchy as other papaya salads I've tried. I definetly prefer Vietnamese papaya salad. Masaman Curry Not as flavorful as the curries I've had elsewhere, but I can see how some likes it. I didn't like their beef. It's one of those beef where Chinese parents make soup. It's like thick and chewy. Pad Sew We Definetly the star out if everything. This was on the sweeter side but it had bold flavors! Usually many places offer chicken, beef or shrimp, but this place only offers pork. I love the amount of gai lan they use, love the crunch. You can sub for the other meats if you like. Yummyyy Thai Ice Tea Not sure if she forgot and rushed to make it, but their ice tea is a bit too sweet for me. Overall, I'd be back for the pad sew ew. If I'm craving thai, I'll stick with sawasadee.

Kay R.

Yelp
Bob doesn't disappoint! It is a small place and pretty unassuming from the outside. We waited about 10 min for a table. Staring awkwardly at the people who were done eating and still sitting there. Anywho, I got the massaman curry with chicken even though the menu only mentioned beef. The flavor was great. Depth of flavor and a good amount of meat. I noticed they didn't ask what spice level so perhaps mild is the only heat. My friend ordered red curry duck. It was really good. Included lychee and pineapple. He wished it were more spicy. I'm a spice chump so It was great for me. The wontons were ok. Nothing special at all. Space is tight and the staff is moving 1000 miles a minute and yelling orders. It was hard to get her attention. I will be back.

Yelp
Appetizer Miang Khum was very flavoured and a strong hit to the taste buds if you like sour, crunchy and lemongrass together. Kao Pad (fried rice) was very good! Fresh and flavourful. Pad Thai was pretty good. The tomato taste was a bit strong and I personally would like it with more of a crunch. Panang beef was a little too over cooked and chewy. But the curry was very good.

Yelp
3.5 stars!!!! Awesome thai food but a tad pricey with smaller portions. We dropped by today as a group without reservations and were lucky to be seated right away. We tried couple of dishes as follow: Pad thai for $15. Decent portions to share between two people as a snack. However, I was very disappointed that it wasn't spicy enough nor was it peanutful enough for the group's liking. Would only recommend if you request more peanuts and up the spicey level. Green curry lunch combo $12. It came with fried wonton skin on a bed of thin green leaves. The green curry itself stood out to me. Very creamy and coconut heavy which I liked. The chicken was tender with loads of ginger to spice things up. However, I do wish the rice was coconut rice though. Appetizer $10 for 6. AMAZING. I forgot the name of this dish but it was on their recommended list. It's a mix of peanuts and some other small treats wrapped in leaves, drench in housemade sauce. MUST TRY. I believe this item will be a must order for me when I visit this restaurant. I loved it a lot. Fried rice for $15. Pretty regular fried rice with eggs, soy sauce and tofu? Though the garden tomatoes stood out to me. It was perfectly sauteed, but not entirely mushy. Again, I wish it was spicier. Tom Yum Goon $15 for large. Highly recommend!!!! Very flavorful and pungent, not for the faint hearted. It was a tad sweet for me so I would have preferred it to be more sour. Nonetheless, delicious tomato based soup! Again, not too spicey at all. Coconut Jasmine Rice $4 a bowl!!!! This was ridiculously priced in my opinion. We would have opted for other options if it costed this much for a small bowl. Moreover, it was nothing special. Overall, I would order the Tom Yum Goon and the appetizer again. Keep in mind that they don't spice up their meals, so do yourself a favour and request for their roasted chili flakes to add to each of your dish - it makes all the difference!

Yelp
Coming here was entirely kismet. It was rainy, a large group of 12 of us wandering on Main st. looking for a restaurant that didn't require a 45 minute-2 hour wait. We decided to try BLTF as our last hope of finding a place that could accommodate us. Lo and behold, we enter BLTF and in front of us is a long table, empty, that seated exactly 12 of us. Like I said. It was entirely meant to be. I ordered a thai iced tea, papaya salad, red thai curry with roast duck, pad thai, and a side of coconut rice to share. Everything was delicious and good portions for a decent price. The roast duck red curry was my highlight. There were several pieces of whole lychee and many pieces of duck. The consistency of the curry was the right amount of thickness for it to not be goopy, but also not liquidy like broth. I love when the curry is thick enough to grab on to the rice. So flavourful and creamy. The pad thai was also pretty good. I could maybe skip the papaya salad. Thai iced tea here is only $3... cheaper than other places I've been to. If I'm ever in the area, I would totally come back here! The only deduction is the layout/ambience of the restaurant. The restaurant lighting could be warmer for a more romantic and relaxed feel.

Yelp
The only reason people like this is because it's filled with sugar. Soy sauce and sugar can make any westerner wild. Tiny portions Expensive Sugar and soy sauce based food

Yelp
I tend to equate that the more English sounding an ethnic restaurant is, the worse the food tastes, but my husband swore that this was one of the best Thai restaurants in the city, so off we went in a group of 6. The food was really good and full of flavor, and I liked trying some dishes that I have never seen available at any other Thai restaurant. The food all came out at a fairly decent pace. I felt sorry for the lone server working that night, as the place was packed, and so the service was kind of lacking, but the meal itself made up for it, albeit I found the portions a little on the smaller side. We ordered the spring rolls (nothing out of the ordinary here), lychee wrapped bacon (who woulda thought a combination like that could work?!), Bob's poutine (when I first heard it, I thought to myself, "Wtf...' But trust me, it's good, although a bit on the spicier side.), penang beef, pad thai, roasted duck red curry (not too spicy, just how I like it!), swimming rama and pad si-ew (first time trying this, and either I was really hungry, or this was really good). That being said, even with all that food for the 6 of us, (including a bowl of rice for each of us), I still left feeling pretty hungry. Good meal overall; I did see a help wanted sign on the door, so hopefully they'll get the staff they so desperately need. I'd come here again, but only for lunch, unless they increase their portions a bit. Nobody likes to go home after dinner only to eat again because they weren't given enough food to eat. There's a few parking spots out front, otherwise, you can park in the residential areas nearby. Free wifi available.

Yelp
Went for lunch here the other day with a friend after seeing some good reviews here. Well to be honest wasn't really impressed with this place. The server was really nice but the food was mediocre at best. We both had the lunch special, I had one of the curries and my friend had like a ginger beef, the food was quite bland, nothing to it really, I think I could have opened up a can of arroyd curry sauce and added my veg and chicken and it would have been better. With Sawasdee up the block I don't think I'll be back.....

Yelp
I don't know who Bob is, but like Bob, I like Thai food too! You can tell a lot about a Thai restaurant just by their Pad Thai. And the Pad Thai is a solid 4 star. The wife, who is a Pad Thai connossieur, agrees that it's a solid 4. Pad Thai (dinner size), is a whole plate of Pad Thai compared to the lunch Pad Thai, which is half Pad Thai and half greens w/plum dressing and fried wonton sheets for $5 less. The Panang Beef (lunch size) is a very delicious dish. A good amount of heat, creamy panang (red) curry with beef. Very tasty and flavourful. This dish could've been a 5 star but the beef was a bit tough. The Kao Pad (Thai Fried Rice) is only ok. It could've been better if they only toned the down the soy sauce. The soy sauce overpowered the whole dish. I think I went over my recommended weekly salt intake just from this dish. Overall, it's a good Thai place. I will definitely be back for the Pad Thai and the Thai favs, AND to find out who Bob really is.

Yelp
Really cute place for Thai food! Pretty authentic and the service is always nice as well. If you're looking for a quick yummy place to eat I'd say this place is good, not huge on overall dining experience though. Ordered pad thai, chicken satay, coconut rice, and beef curry! Everything was good but the pad thai is definitely the favourite

Yelp
So the whole time I'm having my meal here, I'm wondering who Bob was. Didn't ever figure it out, but it'll always keep me wondering. I finally got a chance to try out this place that many have been talking about. Their decor is simple, not much of a Thai influence, but sometimes its the food that brings you there. We started off with some Thai iced teas, and they were good. Their food menu is simple, with an assortment of salads, curries, and rice and noodle dishes. The Tom Yum Koong was great, lots of lemongrass flavour, and just the right balance of hotness and sourness. Wished there were more prawns in it though. The beef salad marinated in lime juice and chili with cilantro, cucumber and red onion also had lots of flavours from the lime and chili, but it was too spicy for my tastes. Thai fried rice was probably my favourite dish, it was fried rice done right. Each grain of rice had even flavour, and it was simple, but delicious. A disappointment of the night must be the deep fried banana with ice cream dessert. The ice cream wasn't a very good ice cream, and the bananas they used were the small finger bananas (almost plantain like texture) which didn't taste that good when deep fried. Overall, it's a nice Thai place for good food at reasonable prices. Service was good, but I'm still wondering who Bob is.
