"Though few tourists venture to Kingston, the capital and hub on the eastern coast of Jamaica, music fans should make the day trip to visit Bob Marley's former home, now a museumdedicated to Marley'slife andimpact on the world.A guided tour of this museumtakesabout an hour and a half and includes a 20-minute video presentation. Even devoted reggae fans will likely learn more about Bob than they ever knew. Exhibits includemultiple awards, guitars, and his bed with an engraved headboard depicting a lion."

Very good tour and very informative. The only thing was there were too many tour guides there at one time, so it felt a bit rushed. The tour is about an hour . It would have been better if the tour was a bit longer. Jevy was our tour guide who made the tour worthwhile.

The gentleman guide was quite entertaining on the tour of the house, there was a 'sing-a-long' vibe which was hard to resist, certainly on our visit it was worth the entry fee. Perhaps it was the time of the day but the food outlet had very little that was 'ital', they had beer which covered the issue! I was able to get a parking spot without too much difficulty at the venue. Would be a nice house to live in... if it wasn't a museum!

Very lovely experience. You will learn a lot. You can take photos and videos in certain places that they allow you to. There is a hidden weed shop and place you can smoke as well. Wasn’t expecting that. Also make sure you check out. Tuff Gong

WOW!! What an experience I loved everything about the tour , plus the dispensary on property and you can’t forget about the restaurant. I had a delicious coffee drink and my husband had a cold drink. I loved the murals and fruit trees on the property as well.

Can't believe it took me this long to do this tour but it was well worth it. The spirit of Bob was alive and well throughout the tour. Our tour guide Jevaughn was very thoughtful and knowledgeable and walk us through the various rooms of the musuem while telling us stories and sharing factoids. I like the fact that he knew so much about not just Bob but the property and it flowed naturally, kudos! I have some critiques however. I found that based on demand, unfortunately different tour groups sometimes overlap and run into each other. Based on a lack of coordination, this at times was a bit chaotic. I also found that, while it was a guided tour, there was so much to see, and you don't get enough time to simply take it all in because so much of the time is led by the tour guide. I feel like at least one of the rooms could be excluded from the tour to allow us to look at the artifacts on display, especially those down stairs in the hallways. I loved the film at the end, however it ended abruptly and I feel that there can be a more tidy way to wrap the whole experience up with a bow, in reverence of the space and the man. This not withstanding, I enjoyed the experience and intend to do it again!

Traveling Is Our Passion

Hey, we are Vicky 🇵🇪 and Malte 🇩🇪 from the travel blog "Traveling Is Our Passion." For our full one week Jamaica road trip itinerary including driving tips and top stops, check out our full Jamaica road trip blog article. The Bob Marley Museum is set in his former home and studio, offering a unique chance to connect with the life of the reggae legend. You’ll see his famous outfits, personal items, and original song lyrics on display. Our guide Ricky, who is a reggae artist himself, made the tour very engaging. He even told us about giving a tour to Prince Harry and Meghan. Photography isn’t allowed inside, which helps keep the experience respectful and focused. With an entrance fee of 25 USD for adults, including a guided tour, this museum provides a meaningful insight into Bob Marley’s cultural legacy. It’s a powerful visit for anyone interested in music history.

Absolutely incredible. The cultural legacy of Jamaica's own is on full, loving display. I appreciate how diligent the community and the family is in preserving the remarkable history of both Bob and Rita Marley. It was an honor to be to walk through his home and learn more about his life experience here on earth.
