We have a split decision! I loved my Chicken Cutlet Plate. Whatever the sauce was that was on the chicken was delicious. The chicken was juicy and tender. The portion was generous. My wife got the Pork Sandwich. They put mayo on the bottom bun, then the BBQ pork, then lettuce and tomato, then another slather of mayo. I have never heard of putting mayo on a hot BBQ sandwich. It took away the flavor of the pork. The location has no air conditioning. Your two choices are to sit inside and sweat or eat outside with the flies.

This place is da bomb! Food and portions were legit! Our food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and didn’t rush us. We will definitely be back!

Google
One of the best meals we had in Kauai. This is the real deal. No frills, no BS, just great Hawaiian and Pan-Pacific food. Get yourself the #1 for a little taste of everything and don’t sleep on the homemade pork rinds if you see them by the counter. Holy smokes.

Google
Best meal on the island of Kauai thus far. Order at the counter and then grab a table among the locals. You know this place is awesome if locals eat here. Everything was sooooo good. We just wish it was closer to where we are staying way over in Princeville. It’s well worth the drive either way. If you are near here, run, don’t walk to the Bobbie’s. The chicken was so incredibly tender and flavorful. I want to go back and try the Hulu Hulu chicken and shrimp. The katsu chicken loco moco was heavenly perfection. Also loved the chicken katsu. Yes please, give me more. Reasonable prices as well. It was under $40 for two.

Delicious food at really reasonable prices! Just grab one of the meat plates, and you’ll leave happy and satisfied. The lady who works there is super friendly and a joy to chat with, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Google
I’m a sucker for any restaurant sporting a Coke logo, as they never seem to disappoint. Bobbie’s lives up to that expectation and then some. We stopped in Hanapēpē on our way to Waimea Canyon, and after a bit of exploring decided we wanted to grab something to eat before we continued. Luckily we caught Bobbie’s shortly before close and enjoyed a fantastic pulled pork sandwich. The entire sandwich was incredible, but what I loved the most was the bun, it was absolutely perfect. The macaroni salad was a fantastic side as well. Bobbie’s fueled our adventure for the rest of the day, the only bad part is I’ll probably never stop craving that sandwich.

Google
Just get the meat combos and the fries. The chicken and katsu are delicious and the portions are hearty. We also ordered the shrimp plate but didn't get what we thought we would get, totally our fault. The shrimp plate was 6 pieces of tempura shrimp with rice and mac. We would not get that next time. It all comes in take out containers so you can bring it to the beach.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews of any kind especially food but I was really impressed with the Korean fried chicken/teri beef plate me and my g/f shared here. The chicken was a mixture of crispy skin along with bite sized pieces of chicken that combined with the Korean sauce tasted ono. The thin slices of teriyaki beef were flavorful, just like da kine grandma would make. Even the rice was nice and firm grains that weren't too soft or undercooked, just right. Combined with the teri sauce drippings from the meat, mmmm. Topping it off was the side of fried saimin that made the meal complete. Check this place out, I doubt you'll be disappointed .

Yelp
Admittedly, I believe I should have ordered something different from this place. Although the one staff working at the front was decently friendly, the fish and chips we ordered was not very well done. The amount of fish was incredibly minimal and was mostly batter. On top of that, the fish itself was not very tasty, the batter was slightly overcooked, and the price was higher than I would have expected for the quality received. We stopped in to see the cute little town that is Hanapepe, and although I believe this town is worth a visit, particularly the street that this restaurant is on, I would not recommend ordering fish and chips from this place. Other dishes may be more recommended and wiser to pick if you are stopping in here for a meal.

Yelp
Yum!!! I loved the gravy they use on top. I wasn't very hungry when I ordered this, but ended up eating the whole meal. I couldn't put the fork down.

Carrie B.

Yelp
Hungry for a plate lunch? Don't pass this by on your way back from Waimea Canyon or checking out the swinging bridge around the corner. No frills - all energy to the outstanding food. Don't miss adding a bag of "oinky's" to your order to take with you! Special shout out to the kind lady at the counter who radiated warmth. This place had us feeling like we were in a "Diners Drive In's and Dives" episode!

Yelp
The teri beef, shrimp tempura, ono, were all so yummy. The mac salad was just okay. Cash only and it may take a bit for your order. There's only a few seats inside but we walk crossed the hanapēpē bridge and ate our food there. The Auntie working here is so sweet too!

Yelp
Great find for local Hawaiian food in small town called Hanapepe. Walking through the little town, saw all these construction workers sitting outside. First, thought it was a barbershop and realized it's actually a local place with pulled pork sandwiches, local fish, great lunch specials. My number one had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the Cajun Ahi fish special which came with two scoops of rice and a macaroni salad. No restrooms, and the ambience is local so sit outside and don't expect more than one napkin- Bring Cash because they charge a 3% surcharge for credit cards. We definitely will go back for lunch.

Yelp
We were able to park right in front as Bobbie guards her spaces for her establishment. This was helpful as it was a busy day and the whole street was very full. This is a modest looking place in downtown Hanapepe. It has a bench and a few two seater's outside and a few four tops inside. There are no public toilets and no AC. We were very comfortable though inside. When we ordered we had so many questions that were patiently answered. You order at the counter and she gives it to you in to go containers. You pick your drinks from the refrigerator on the right of the establishment. She is an active member of her community and was telling us if a fishing tournament for the kids they were organizing. Now to the food. The Huli Huli chicken was spectacular! Not dry, extremely flavorful! The macaroni was creamy and delicious. The chicken katsu was light and moist. I would recommend this locally owned establishment.

Yelp
The chicken was mostly fat, not good at all. Not even sure what cut of teriyaki chicken it was. Lots of skin.

Yelp
Every bite on this plate packed a punch of flavor! Seriously, one of the tastiest dishes I've had on the island. The meat was juicy and seasoned to perfection. The lady inside was super friendly, even suggested a cool bridge for us to check out while we waited for our food. We grabbed a seat outside, and the whole place was spotless and inviting.

Yelp
This is our go to spot in Hanapepe for lunch. Great plate lunches with good portions and reasonable prices. I have never left hungry. My go to's are the Korean Chicken Plate (good crisp and flavor) and their Teriyaki Chicken Plate (lighter and juicy). I know that they have other good stuff but I like what I like. Special shout out to their homemade garlic parmesan dressing for the salad - wow delicious. Remember to bring cash as I do not think they take credit.

Yelp
This place hit after a morning of snorkeling ! We ordered the ckn katsu plate & korean ckn with shrimp tempura plate. The ckn katsu was so juicy and crispy. The korean ckn was delicious as well, it had a nice savory soy glaze and good crunch. Shrimp tempura was ok. I like that you can sub mac salad for some greens if you're looking for some fresh veggies. There's a few tables inside & no AC. Great casual lunch spot for Hawaiian food !

Yelp
We loved Bobbi's! They have real authentic Hawaiian plates, and you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose. I had the fish, my husband had the chicken and my kids had chicken and miscellaneous sandwiches. It was all very tasty and very fresh. And the prices weren't horrible Considering the Kauai is a bit expensive.

Kiera N.

Yelp
Bobbie's is an authentic and delicious local gem. The Kailua Pork and Huli Huli chicken were so soft and flavorful. I like how the Saimin was topped with the pink garnishes. Big portions were worth the price. If I could give Bobbie's more than 5 stars I WOULD. Very tasty, very fresh, very worth it.

Yelp
I wish we had had more time to enjoy our visit to Bobbie's, but our grab and go order was enough to leave a lasting impression. My husband and I lucked out to find that Bobbie's was still open when we arrived and placed an order of fried saimin to go before they were about to close. Had I not already eaten, I would've definitely ordered more, as other customers' plates looked so good! Our order didn't take too long and I was pleasantly surprised to feel how heavy the seemingly small box was! Not to mention, it was hot and fresh and smelled delicious. I could hardly wait to sit down and dig in. When I popped the lid open, I was greeted by a mountain of saimin with sliced fish cake and generous green onion. The first bite was a welcome reminder that sometimes the simplest things could taste the best. This small order lasted me and my husband multiple meals and I looked forward to eating it every time. I hope to visit again and try more items on Bobbie's menu!

Yelp
Food is 9 out of 10, service was 8/10 and ambiance is a hole in the wall. This is a must go too. Take the time to stop and check out all the flavors. Bad news: they are only open from Monday through Friday, 10-2:30
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
A fantastic place for local affordable eats. My partner and I split the Huli Huli chicken and though the portion/price was fantastic and we were able to take this meal with us outside. There's not a ton of tables inside, so it's really more of a takeout/grab and go place. Service was reasonable. I *think* it was cash only, so just be aware. Next time, I want to make sure we try the fried saimin! A little sad we missed out on that. There's some really cute bookstores across the street and the little town is so cute, so plenty to check out if you stop here for lunch!

Yelp
Bobbie's is a nice local spot located on the main drag in Hanapepe Kauai. If you want authentic local food, Bobbie's is a great place for lunch. Food and service are excellent. I got the teri beef sandwich and samin noddles and was in heaven. My plate lunch was absolutely fantastic and I would definitely order it again. You know it's good when the local construction workers and police officers are eating here and they have very good taste. You can take the food to go or eat at one of the tables inside or outside. The staff is excellent and helpful if you have questions or if you can't figure out what to order. Support local!

Yelp
Quick easy island food. Good for on the run short on time or just really hungry. Big portions reasonable prices. Loco moco was good. Lots of locals here.

Yelp
Friday night specials are amazing Come down Friday nights and join us. Along with Friday night art night.

Yelp
Amazing, delicious food! We stopped here on our way back from Waimea Canyon. The only downside it's cash only but at the same time, that's how you know food will be good! We placed our order & while we waited we went on the swinging bridge. Highly recommend ordering & then doing the bridge & coming back. Took about 15-20 minutes to get the food. Perfect timing. Wow wow! The food was the juiciest chicken katsu we had on the island! And the Mac salad was so good too! Highly recommend this whole in the wall. There is seating inside & small tables outside too. 10/10

Yelp
This was my second trip here and it's a tasty joint with local eats. It's in Hanapepe, a little spot surrounded by shops to go check out or if you're passing by on your way to/from Waimea. There are a bunch of box options and mix plates if you can't make up your mind like me. Everything I had was delicious! *only takes cash

Yelp
Do not skip this place. Bobbie's is so freaking good. We shared a plate of Korean chicken with pulled pork with gravy on top, rice, noodles, and a side of macaroni. OMG. One plate will fill 2 people! Korean chicken was flavorful and crispy. The pork was melt in your mouth good. And the macaroni-wow. Bring this stuff to the mainland!!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is amazing. Service was great! Helped make choices even for our picky teenager!

Yelp
Good food which was fresh and plentiful. Very nice service. It's cooked to order so have patience please.

Yelp
Service with a smile the employee at the counter was very helpful. The food was on Point if I'm Hanapepe stop at Bobbi's. They use to smoke Hulu Hulu chicken which my husband absolutely loved. But he found another delicious plate. Korean Beef, Katsu Chicken, Fried Chicken, and Laulau no complains the family absolutely enjoyed everything!

Kellie M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Was a little worried upon ordering, no pictures of the food and all boxes closed for those ordering ahead of us in the line. Picked our items sight unseen and enjoyed every bite! Would definitely return next trip!
google avatar

Leng G.

Yelp
Food (fish and chips and seafood combo) was great and worth the visit. The service was non bs-matter-a-fact kind and the place was casual. I liked it. I would recommend.

Yelp
We went to Bobbie's during a recent visit. It is definitely a "hole in the wall" kind of place, but they have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and fun! The food was AMAZING! Truly, I have never had a pulled pork sandwich that tasted so good. Do you ship to Cali?! My teen boys had burgers and fish and chips. Everyone was very happy with their meals. Mahalo, Bonnie's! We will be back.

Yelp
We found Bobbie's 10 years ago on our first trip to Kauai. It is not an exaggeration that I have thought about it ever since. There was 15 of us the first time and only 8 this time. Everything was as delicious as the first time. What captivated me both times is the Fried Saimin. This delicate noodle dish just hits every note. Can't wait to get back again, I just hope it isn't another 10 years.

Yelp
Best valued meal we've had in our Kauai trip. Stopped by here at 1pm Monday. Parked down the street. Wife ordered the $12.95 number 10, and I ordered the $12.95 number 4. 15 minute wait said the staff. Cash only, no indoor dining, only two tables outside, both occupied. All food comes in take out containers with one plastic fork. We lucked out as one table being vacated after we waited 20 minutes for our food. The two pieces of teriyaki beef were sliced thin, with plenty of sauce to keep them from drying up. The beef was tender enough to cut with my fork on one end, and my teeth grasping the other end, and biting down. The two tempura shrimp were on the thin side, but tasted good nevertheless. The two beer battered ono had bit too much coating, with hollow areas inside -not much fish. Went well with the tartar sauce. Loved the macaroni salad, which didn't have too much mayo. Wife liked her roasted pork but thought the sauce had too much salt. Sauteed mushrooms were fine. All meat and fish dishes come with a bed of white rice underneath to bulk up the food. But you can't go wrong for $13! At that price, no bathrooms available for customers.
google avatar

Cleo C.

Yelp
Pulled pork sandwich is great, w-2 Mac sides. Anything you order will be good. The chef was outside bbq-ing while we were waiting. Friends ordered a burger and ono and prawns. All was good. Limited seating inside and out. And no bathrooms!
google avatar

Gail U.

Yelp
11-9-21 first time here; Doc gave me the heads up since she knew we would be in Hanapepe to visit her fraternal grandparents' grave. Both sister-in-laws could join us so we treated. No indoor dining but we took it to go and had a picnic in the pavilion by the Hanapepe Stadium. There is only regular size, no minis. His sisters are petite and tiny eaters. We on the other hand are heifers and can chow down on good local plate lunches or bentos. Would definitely come back when we visit again.

Yelp
Food was so-so. I mainly went here to try their version of the Loco Moco, but it wasn't as good as I imagined. Weirdly enough, the food that stood out the most was their salad dressing that is their version of the home-made Ranch dressing. Overall, it's a nice hidden gem if you're looking for a place to stop by and have a quick grub. (NOTE: food is made to order so you'd have to wait 15-20minutes after ordering, but you have some local shops and the drawstring bridge to explore from while waiting..)

Megan H.

Yelp
I'm sorry but no...the place didn't look very clean and the food was not good. The teriyaki was so so salty. I hate to give a bad review but I don't recommend. If you're visiting the island don't waste one of your meals out at this place.
google avatar

Alvin W.

Yelp
Highly highly recommend. From the pictures, I thought it'd be a carbon copy of L&L, but it's even better -- think a local-tailored, slick-priced, and generously-portion'ed version. Here's what we ordered: * #7 - Korean Fried Chicken, Roasted Pork, Mac Salad (you can substitute with Fried Saimin, which tastes like chow mein). The chicken was crispy and juicy. The roasted pork gravy went well the mac, just as the lady at the counter recommended! * #9 - Korean Fried Chicken, Shrimp Tempura, Fried Saimin. The shrimp tempura was also crispy as expected. For starters, Bobbie's filled the box completely. They stuffed rice in all the little boxes in the togo, and covered everything in meat. The portion was good for 2, so each of the couples in our group got *1 plate to share. Great value, and great taste. Will come back if I'm ever in the area again, and I highly recommend that you do the same!
google avatar

John Julius C.

Yelp
Ono food from Bobbie's in Hanapepe! A must if you're on the island! Known for the garlic chicken but we got the mixed plate with Hulihuli chicken, chicken katsu and roast pork w/gravy with rice and fried saimin! Take it to go and eat at the beach! 15 min for fresh food is amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
All the best Hawaiian staples. Too good to pass up! Check hours before you go - they close at 2:30pm and it's cash only!
google avatar

Mandy C.

Yelp
Came here after almost dying on the Waimea canyon trail- so we were happy to be receiving a heaping amount of food. Cash only and prices are very reasonable- I like how they have different combos so you can try a few different proteins. I like the Korean fried chicken. The macaroni salad is also excellent. The place is very small- you walk up to the counter to order and wait outside. Mask are required but the lady inside is not good at keeping it on- will pull it up briefly if she remembers. She was very nice though. Only 2-3 tables outside which were full so we parked at the nearby park- there is no benches but you can sit on a rock. There is a lot of chickens around... I would suggest taking the food to Kauai coffee and eating at their picnic tables while enjoying the view of the coffee plants.

Yelp
As of today my soul has once again been reborn due to the power thru one of Bobbie's plate lunches. I cannot rave enough about this food. There are absolutely no words that can describe how much I love Bobbie's. It's one of the main reasons I told my husband we MUST come to the Garden Island if he plans a surprise trip to Hawaii... A year ago, I got Box #7, DA MEAN BOX (Korean fried chicken, roasted shredded pork covered in gravy on white rice, side of mac and cheese, $10.99) and that's what I got again. Hot diggity damn, this is comfort food in an entirely different level. I'm talking on a spiritual level. If I'm going to use English to describe my experiences at Bobbie's, I will say I passed through to the afterlife, met the Creator and came back to life. Yeah yeah tell me I'm exaggerating but I'm all trying to say is this is some of the best food I have ever had in my life, hands down. The fried chicken is cooked to perfection, delivering a crunch so satisfying shivers will run down your back. The gravy smothered over the tender pieces of pork delivers a POW! of flavor, like dynamite. To balance it all out the mac and cheese was the best cold mac and cheese I ever had, this I say without a doubt. Nothing close to your local grocery store deli shit. Dis real stuff. Dis real freaking good. My tummy ain't the strongest, I get stuffed real easily but there was nothing stopping me from practically inhaling the entire plate of food. I ate this at 11:00 am and went to bed at 9:00 still full. This is comfort food like it should be. This is life-changing. This is the first step to reclaiming your purpose in life. Yes, I'm talking about a restaurant. No I'm not exaggerating. And yes, I pretty much came back to this Kauai for a plate lunch. Give Bobbie's a try and you're going to do the same. Note: I was delighted to see that staff were wearing gloves and masks, and enforcing 6 feet distancing. Even more reason to love this place.
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
I so wanted this to be awesome. Love local grinds and hidden gems. While Bobbies is solid local eats, and friendly woman at the counter, the atmosphere is in desperate need of a major makeover. Outside building is light green, inside walls and floor are dirty light green. It's like coming into an old rundown hospital. They say you eat with your eyes before your mouth, and never was this more true here. For now sadly this is a pass.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Food was so ono! Pulled pork with gravy was the best! Also the chicken katsu and huli huli chicken was good. Korean chicken was a bit too spicy for me, tho.

Dan B.

Yelp
#3 was delicious and lady at the counter was cordial and very friendly. Good quantity of food for the price.
google avatar

Hans H.

Yelp
Excellent food, in a fantastic city, on a beautiful island. Go there with an appetite. So many great choices. The food is five star all the way.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Korean chicken was pretty good, teriyaki was mid and so was the macaroni. Beware there is no restroom or place to wash your hands, they do not serve free water (must purchase a water bottle), and they have you throw your own trash away outside of the restaurant. Plus, they ONLY accept cash or checks.

Arlene L.

Yelp
Amazing!!!! Food was delicious. The hostess was genuine and served with a happy smile. We got the combination plate and generous portion. Thank you.
google avatar

Lindsay F.

Yelp
We ordered 3 Da Pakala Surf Pack's and were not disappointed! Some of my favorite food on Kauai Comes with Saimin (fried noodles), chicken katsu, pork, Huli Chicken and lots of rice. The portions are great for the price. Definitely lots of love in the cooking here! This was comfort food at its finest.
google avatar

Kelvin Y.

Yelp
Large portions for a fair price. We enjoyed the Lau Lau Pork and the Samin. Both portions were generous and freshly prepared. We noticed that the clientele were at least half local and several tourists like us. Rustic Hawaii at its' best!
google avatar

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Slightly off the beaten path but totally worth stopping by. Bobbie's is located in the middle of a bunch of small stores with parking throughout the street. Service was quick and friendly and while enjoying our meal on the few tables outside, we saw plenty of regulars and locals come by for their lunches. The food was delicious and fresh and such a great price as well. The quantity was pretty large, just how I like it.
