As of today my soul has once again been reborn due to the power thru one of Bobbie's plate lunches. I cannot rave enough about this food. There are absolutely no words that can describe how much I love Bobbie's. It's one of the main reasons I told my husband we MUST come to the Garden Island if he plans a surprise trip to Hawaii...
A year ago, I got Box #7, DA MEAN BOX (Korean fried chicken, roasted shredded pork covered in gravy on white rice, side of mac and cheese, $10.99) and that's what I got again. Hot diggity damn, this is comfort food in an entirely different level. I'm talking on a spiritual level. If I'm going to use English to describe my experiences at Bobbie's, I will say I passed through to the afterlife, met the Creator and came back to life. Yeah yeah tell me I'm exaggerating but I'm all trying to say is this is some of the best food I have ever had in my life, hands down.
The fried chicken is cooked to perfection, delivering a crunch so satisfying shivers will run down your back. The gravy smothered over the tender pieces of pork delivers a POW! of flavor, like dynamite. To balance it all out the mac and cheese was the best cold mac and cheese I ever had, this I say without a doubt. Nothing close to your local grocery store deli shit. Dis real stuff. Dis real freaking good. My tummy ain't the strongest, I get stuffed real easily but there was nothing stopping me from practically inhaling the entire plate of food. I ate this at 11:00 am and went to bed at 9:00 still full.
This is comfort food like it should be. This is life-changing. This is the first step to reclaiming your purpose in life. Yes, I'm talking about a restaurant. No I'm not exaggerating. And yes, I pretty much came back to this Kauai for a plate lunch. Give Bobbie's a try and you're going to do the same.
Note: I was delighted to see that staff were wearing gloves and masks, and enforcing 6 feet distancing. Even more reason to love this place.
