The best fish and chips I have had in New Zealand so far. The menu looks reasonably priced too. We had fish, chips, donuts, pineapple rings and buttered bread and spring rolls. Everything except spring rolls was delicious 🤤 Would highly recommend. The soft and warm cinnamon donuts are a must try !!!

Raw fish was yum, unfortunately everything else was really disappointing. Spent $120 here and everything was so greasy. Seafood kebab was just fish, tomato, 1 mussel and onion. Fish, scallops and oysters wouldve been ok if the greasy as batter didnt wreck it. Not worth the hype at all.

I had the best fish and chips here!!! It was bluenose fish today and the meat was juicy and succulent. Worth the effort to make a trip here as the fish is fresh!!!

If you're looking for fish and chips that are 10/10, this is the place to go. The portions are generous. We had a half scoop of chips and 4 x pieces of fish, for 3 adults and a child and it was more than enough for us. We also tried the marinated raw fish in coconut and it was so rich and tasty. The fish of the day was absolutely delicious and the chips crunchy. Absolutely everything you want in a fish n chip shop. The lady behind the counter was an absolute gem, so kind, helpful and friendly. The outlook is beautiful, sitting right on the wharf. The decor is tired, but honestly, who cares! The fish is as fresh as it gets and absolutely hits the mark. Highly recommend if you want simple food, done to its best.

The fish & chips I had today were alright. The fish itself was actually good. But the batter as well as the fries were a bit too soggy for my liking. Also the aioli was not really great for my taste. Obviously it's a matter of personal preference but I've definitely had better in NZ.

Without a doubt some of the best fih n chips in the country. Not cheap but the fish pieces are large, fresh and perfectly cooked.

While waiting for my order, I overheard a patron tell his friend, "best fish and chip in New Zealand." He was partially correct. This is, in fact, the best fish and chip on the planet, and I say that after many baskets at recommended UK locales. At Bobby's the fish is a glorious golden fried, light but tasty, perfectly flaky and delicious slice of heaven. An ample helping of chips comes alongside and the whole ensemble parties in your mouth for NZ$6.

Ali H, might be right. Bobby's might be the best Fish and Chips in the world. They're the best I've had, without setting foot in the UK. I love that it's dockside, I love that it's a fish market, and you get to choose from a variety of fish to be cooked, or to be taken home. The chips are are served in abundance, and hard fried. If there was nothing else, Bobby's alone, might be worth a trip to Tauranga.

Get there at least an hour before their closing stated time or you may be out of luck getting a meal.

One of the best fish and chips I have ever had. the location is very good. you can sit outside and enjoy the harbor view. perfect for sunny day. Queue is pretty long and it would take a while to order and get the food. Don't join the wrong line since there are two lines, one is to order and the other is to collect the food. The fish and chips are cooked in beef fat so not very suitable for who does not eat beef. Although there is no noticeable beef smell and taste, be prepared if you are sensitive to beef. In spite of the fact that I am not a beef eater, I still love the fish and chips from Bobby. Fish and oysters are super fresh and yummy. This is must-visit place in Tauranga. Highly recommended.
