If you're looking for fish and chips that are 10/10, this is the place to go. The portions are generous. We had a half scoop of chips and 4 x pieces of fish, for 3 adults and a child and it was more than enough for us. We also tried the marinated raw fish in coconut and it was so rich and tasty. The fish of the day was absolutely delicious and the chips crunchy. Absolutely everything you want in a fish n chip shop. The lady behind the counter was an absolute gem, so kind, helpful and friendly. The outlook is beautiful, sitting right on the wharf. The decor is tired, but honestly, who cares! The fish is as fresh as it gets and absolutely hits the mark. Highly recommend if you want simple food, done to its best.

Absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. The fish is incredibly fresh If yourself are fresh fish lover, you should not miss this place. I have eaten here if not the best, then, one of the best fish in my life. Highly reccommended

The staff are friendly and helpful, they cook the ordered fresh fish and chips as soon as they can and there are so many fresh fish fillets to choose from.I ended up buying some smoked salmon wings to take home as well.They serve a big portion of chips with the fried super fresh fish.It's been a nice visit and totally enjoyed the delicious fish and chips there at Bobbys Fresh Fish Market Tauranga.

The tastiest fish n chips I've ever had! Add your own salt or vinegar, nice covered outdoor tables. Had to wait 15 mins after ordering, which was realistic at lunchtime. Eat in option so no big paper wrap required. The fish was $6.80 each, so the price is up there, but we ordered 3 bits and got given two small extra pieces, so that was unexpected goodness. Two minute walk to an awesome kids playground for afterwards to burn off some energy. Starfish to look at along the waterfront steps.

Old school Fish and Chips on the waterfront. They also sell fresh seafood too. You line up and order. Get a number and wait. They will call your number when it's ready. Order individual items on the menu. It was busy today and waited around 25 mins for the food, but it was worth it. The fish was tasty and fresh and good value. Seating outside and paid parking across the street

Delicious fish n chips. Nice friendly staff and good serving sizes of both chips and fish, very fresh. Good view while eating your lunch on a sunny day. Not a very long weight. Like the serving trays the ladies serve the food on. Great experience overall

While waiting for my order, I overheard a patron tell his friend, "best fish and chip in New Zealand." He was partially correct. This is, in fact, the best fish and chip on the planet, and I say that after many baskets at recommended UK locales. At Bobby's the fish is a glorious golden fried, light but tasty, perfectly flaky and delicious slice of heaven. An ample helping of chips comes alongside and the whole ensemble parties in your mouth for NZ$6.

Ali H, might be right. Bobby's might be the best Fish and Chips in the world. They're the best I've had, without setting foot in the UK. I love that it's dockside, I love that it's a fish market, and you get to choose from a variety of fish to be cooked, or to be taken home. The chips are are served in abundance, and hard fried. If there was nothing else, Bobby's alone, might be worth a trip to Tauranga.

Get there at least an hour before their closing stated time or you may be out of luck getting a meal.

One of the best fish and chips I have ever had. the location is very good. you can sit outside and enjoy the harbor view. perfect for sunny day. Queue is pretty long and it would take a while to order and get the food. Don't join the wrong line since there are two lines, one is to order and the other is to collect the food. The fish and chips are cooked in beef fat so not very suitable for who does not eat beef. Although there is no noticeable beef smell and taste, be prepared if you are sensitive to beef. In spite of the fact that I am not a beef eater, I still love the fish and chips from Bobby. Fish and oysters are super fresh and yummy. This is must-visit place in Tauranga. Highly recommended.
