Oh man, I thought I wrote a review for Bobèche a long time ago, but clearly hadn't.
Well where to start...
Sometimes when I walk into a venue for the first time and it's very visually pleasing, the Salt n Pepa lyrics "What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine man, yes he is!" will come into my head. This happening is a sign of a truly sexy new venue. I can say with certainty that Salt n Pepa came into my head on my first visit to Bobèche.
Tucked away in the basement level of the heritage building, you don't feel like you're in Perth anymore Toto. When I say this place has a 1920s Speakeasy theme, I don't mean one of the bartenders wears a newsboy cap and that's as far as they've gone with the theme. The owners must have spent a large amount of time and money on making this place the real deal! The ladies bathroom is beautiful, especially the sink which apparently the owners had sent over from the US and re-enameled - that's the dedication I'm talking about!
The drinks menu is very unique and extensive, but don't expect a lot of yor standard drinks on there. I love a bar that has something different for you to try, I had the vodka fizz cocktail and it was so delicious I slurped it back like a red creaming soda.
Looking forward to going back and trying the food.
