Google
Had a great v60 filter coffee at Bocca. Loved the way they serve it. The cafe has a cozy modern interior which makes it a pleasure to spend time in.

Google
The atmosphere was nice and we loved coffee. The cake was somewhat too sweet for my liking and matcha latte was something that's considered to be good in most cafes in the Netherlands but personally I love much less milk and more matcha so that we actually tastes matcha. The service was very friendly.

Google
Really good coffee here. The place is bright and spacious, with plenty of room to sit and relax. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the drinks tasted great. It can get a little busy at times, but overall it’s one of the nicer cafés I visited in Amsterdam. Would definitely come back.

Google
One of my favorite coffee spots in the center of Amsterdam. Bocca is super cosy, with plenty of comfortable seating options, perfect for catching up with friends or just relaxing. I had a flat white, and it was just how I like it: strong and well-made. It had a slightly sour note, which isn’t quite my thing, but that’s definitely a personal preference. The barista was friendly, added a lovely latte art, and served it all with a smile. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and have also bought their beans for home brewing – always great quality. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a solid coffee stop with a chill vibe in the heart of Amsterdam.

Google
We had four cappuccinos, a chocolate chip cookie and strawberry cheese cake. The food was really good, the cappuccinos could have been hotter for being freshly made but overall they were good. We arrived at 130 in the afternoon and there was plenty of seating and a chill atmosphere

Google
We enjoyed our flat white €4.2 each Has multiple branches across Amsterdam They also have choices of pastry And sell their own coffee beans They have a workplace for €7 Spacious place for a cafe. **Beans are a bit dark roasted

Google
One of the best matcha latte i’ve had so far. Otherwise, there’s a lot of space inside, it’s pleasant. Very nice if you like warm, industrial and minimalistic places !

Google
The staff inside were incredibly rude. We went in, got coffee, sat down, and only had five minutes of shut-eye, which can be verified by security cameras. We did nothing to disrupt public order. Despite this, the waiter came and told us with shouting to get up, "This is not a place to sleep." I've never experienced this kind of stench anywhere else in the world. Cafes are recommended everywhere.

Yelp
Bocca Coffee has been a leader in the specialty coffee that managed the entire coffee chain, from sourcing to roasting, packaging to roasting! Stepping into the cafe, it is airy and had plenty of seating. However, judging from the flat white I ordered compared to yesterday at "streaming Bean Cafe", I like the latter better. Fun fact is they do offer barrister classes - sign up in the store.

Yelp
The coffee here was great and service was quick. Relaxing place to hangout or do some work.

Yelp
A great experience! Lovely stuff, great coffee and wonderful pastries. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Excellent all around. Not packed with tourist, on a quiet side street. Mocha was fantastic, execution and craftsmanship was top notch. Highly recommend

Yelp
Quaint little place that is beautifully decorated and peaceful inside. As an American, I admired the true coffee shop-ness of this place. As much as I enjoy the other "coffee" places here in Amsterdam, it was a breath of fresh air to visit a place that was uniquely and distinctly just real deal coffee. Plenty of seating, wifi, and a friendly staff. Coffee was strong and delicious, highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Great cafe that has some nice vibes inside, although it is limited seating. Staff are friendly and helpful. The Yuzu passionfruit cafe was a must try and the coffee they have here is standard and reliable.
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice coffee shop with friendly service. I had a pour over, which was excellent. Wife had a regular black coffee that was as good as the pour over.

Yelp
Nothing can beat this. Best coffee ... smooth ... round tones with milk that holds on to the last sip. Great atmosphere and bathrooms (yes, the bathrooms have individual towels for you to dry your hands...love that.) Banana Bread is great. Lightly sweetened, not heavy or cloying. Menu is exceptionally simple for the beverage. Don't let that alarm you. Really, all you need to do is trust. The baristas know what they are doing and don't need to stress you with that haughty vibe. Nope, they love what they do and if you are lucky, you can sit in a corner and watch them teach the new wave of baristas while you sip and nibble the wares.

Yelp
Solid coffee roaster with a good vibe. Definitely recommended. Coffee: 4.5 Stars I had a cappuccino with the Soul mate roast (Brazil). Very smooth but a bit overpowered by the milk. Should have had it as a macchiato. The espresso is pulled on a massive 4-group Strada machine. Food: did not try enough to rate-- however, we enjoyed the brownie: an amazingly rich chocolate raspberry gooey experience recommended to all. Environment: 4.5 Stars Clean, sharp, comfortable. Plenty of room to sit back and enjoy the coffee Service: 4 Stars I did not interact much with the staff-- but they were friendly and smiles when I ordered.

Yelp
I purchase coffee from here a lot to grind at home. I'm probably a high value customer. It's great. One day I went to use my laptop and was told "it's a no laptop policy". Huh? This ain't San Francisco guys ... (I had just spend €25 of coffee in my bag and was gonna check my email while I drank some filter coffee and waited for a contractor to finish work at home). This is Amsterdam, and I've never seen anything so pretentious. You can use your cellphone though, apparently that's different to a laptop ... Dear Bocca owners, If you have trouble with people just squatting here for the day train your staff better. Up sell to customers, serve food. There are better ways to do this than a blanket rule. You lost a customer with a silly rule. When ever I used to work from cafes I'd spend probably €25 a day at least. Just train your staff better and it will work. Also am willing to bet that you have a lot of tourists visiting here for single visits. It's repeat customers that make a business and this is a great way to lose them.

Yelp
Exceptional coffee roaster. Being from the states and a bit of a coffee snob, you come in and immediately feel the expertise in the room. The barista single doses each order and takes a meticulous approach to extraction. The notes of the beans are totally original and a profile reminiscent of single batch South American beans Espresso notes: Grey tea, pear (the others evade me) - low acidity Ambiance: exceptional, great vibes and plenty of seating Baked goods: had the Banana bread and it was lovely. Airy and moist My spot while in town.

Yelp
While we were in Europe, we tried to go to local coffee shops as much as possible. This one was very nice, clean and we enjoyed our coffee drinks very much. This place is HUGE. Tables, bar seating, and cushioned nook area where we sat. Fun to stop at these local coffee shops to take a break from sight seeing!

Yelp
Bocca was founded by a Dutchman who began his search for the perfect coffee bean in Ethiopia. Natural light fills the warehouse-like interior, which has high ceilings, white walls and a mix of bar seating and cosy sofa areas. A long table in the rear is perfect for working. However, a weekend laptop ban means sometimes settling for great coffee brewed by talented baristas and some killer red velvet cake or Dutch apple pie. Lauded as the first speciality coffee roaster in the Netherlands to manage the whole bean-to-cup process, Bocca now supplies many local restaurants with premium roasted beans

Yelp
Really great pour overs here. If you value customer service this place is way better than 99% of businesses in Amsterdam.

Yelp
This was a great little stop! The coffee was good and they had a wide variety of different things for people to try. I've never heard of white coffee until here! The atmosphere is nice and the staff was very friendly. I had the iced black coffee which was small (compared to Americans) and flavorful. I'd go here again!

Yelp
Walking around in the neighborhood of Leidseplein I felt the urge for a cup of coffee. I found Bocca using Yelp. I could not have thought this a coffeeplace since the place is pretty incognito. It is almost as if it's hidden (in a way lucky for the insiders or unlucky for people who are not in the know, depends on how you look at it). I heard someone mention that Bocca's location is a former car repair shop. The interior is really modern and tidy without feeling sterile (which of course is a matter of taste, I know). To form your own opinion on this point I would like to refer you to the pictures I took. I decided for the Ethiopian filter coffee of €3.50. The taste was good with a hint of sourness. The coffee is delivered to you in a can and with a cup so you can decide how full you want your cup. There are some sort of "islands" where you can sit and enjoy some privacy if you so wish. The Wi-Fi Internet connection is pretty quick with a speed of 7.5 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up. It was pretty quiet so not sure how it will fare when it's busier. The place has electric outlet throughout but please be aware that not every spot is provided for. If I can name something Bocca can improve upon, it would be the speed with which they serve the coffee. I had to wait quite a while, like 5 minutes. Not bad but not great either.

Yelp
Such a nice cafe. Incredibly spacious and good coffee. I asked what iced drinks they had and they listed off three. I don't remember all of them but I got some type of bottled coffee that they described as kind of creamy like a Guinness. I was like ok chill. So I tried it. It tasted pretty good but I'll probably try their real coffee next time since this was bottled. More importantly, the interior was so nice. They had lot of seating of different sorts. Big tables, benches, couches, chairs and much more!!!!! So dope. I'm for sure going back if I need an open space to do some work. Good wifi too. Not sure if they have charging stations. I'm about this place.

Yelp
If I could add a sixth star, I would do it. If you are someone who enjoys a good cup of coffee, then this is your place. But... If you are one of us - one who believes that the preparation of coffee is an art form. That coffee is a complex and wonderfully intriguing ingredient. That coaxing all the subtlety out of a particular bean and roast is worth spending days (a week?) doing, then this is your place. World champion barista Yakup Aydin works here. I had the pleasure of visiting with him for a while, trying different coffees and preparations. He gave me plenty to think about, and I am looking forward to trying out some of his suggestions at home. In addition to serving some of the best coffee in the world, they roast their own beans for sale, along with specialty coffee hardware such as pour-over equipment and grinders. If I could make a suggestion, make this an outing - an opportunity for a new culinary experience. Even if you always get your coffee with milk, try a straight espresso. They will have several to choose from. Talk with the barista and ask for a recommendation. Take your time drinking. Wait between sips and notice how the flavor changes from the first taste to one minute later. They have water and glasses on the bar for a reason. Sip some water between tastes, and definitely between different coffees. Now try a different espresso. Note the difference. You can learn a lot here. I travel quite a lot, and there are only a few coffee shops in the world in this class. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do.

Yelp
I was looking for a quick coffee and a snack and Bocca more than delivered...So much so that I returned the following day for another caffeine fix! Their white coffee was really smooth and had great flavour. J had the filter coffee which they individually made in front of us and tasted lovely. My lemon muffin had the texture of a financier and was moist and delicious. The space is very clean and modern and they place nice music for anyone looking to work, study or just relax. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, masterfully prepared and served - the guys are really serious about what they do. I could choose between Brazil, Kenya and Ethiopia espresso varieties, and was carefully explained the differences in taste between them. Furthermore, they serve excellent cakes (banana, carrot, lemon) and brownies, and have a small shopping area where you can buy their coffee and blends.

Yelp
Love at first sight. Seriously. So good. We were visiting Amsterdam for a few days and we wanted to avoid overpriced and tourist places so we ended up using the amazing Yelp app (thanks Yelp, wink, wink) to find a decent cup of coffee. Bocca was the first one the app recommended and it was 10 minutes away from where we were. We walked there right away and Wow, loved it! gorgeous and simple at the same time! Just a few tables and a big counter. Small shelves at the entrance with fresh ground coffee, pretty mugs and super cute italian coffee machines, just in case you feel like indulging yourself. Just coffee. Nothing else. No Latte, no Flat White, Mocha or Cappuccino. Just black or white. Black as in Americano and White as in some kind of 'Latte' (more and less). We ordered two white ones and OMG, one of the best coffee I've ever had. It was really cool because we were able to chose between six different types of coffee. Staff was so nice and helpful! Really cool and trendy vibe. We sit there for almost and hour (free wifi yeah) People were working with their computers, having a nice chat and I think there was a group doing some kind of coffee training in one of the coffee machines. If I ever come back to Amsterdam I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
It's a bit overpriced! The large coffee is slightly bigger than the espresso! The guys over the counter were also very unfriendly! You can find much better coffee shops in the area.

Yelp
Bocca was love at first sight! Beautiful open space with a relaxed and bright atmosphere, perfect to get lost in a book or to come up with your next business idea. But more importantly...THE COFFEE... the Colombia Nitro Brew I tried was damn good (no Colombian bias I promise). I got lots of well balanced citrus and caramel notes in the perfect texture of the nitro method. I highly recommend it. I loved the simplicity of their menu: Black or White. I also liked the friendliness and enthusiasm of its baristas, which you can observe while they brew, pour and prepare the coffee (the bar is not only open, but also strategically located in the middle of the cafe. You can also sit by the bar and get a first row experience. Not great if you are hungry and want to grab a bite. All they have to offer is some cakes and cookies. But personally, I was not there for the food and here coffee is all you need. mucho love, D.

Yelp
This coffee house has far to high an opinion of itself. First, their coffee. It is ok, not great despite having a "coffee school" attached to it. Second, and most importantly. On weekends, I was informed, they have a "no laptop" rule. When asked why, they don't like the feeling it creates. Mind you the place was half empty. I was however informed that I could use my cpu as a tablet, and that would be acceptable. Wait, so as long as I don't have a keyboard, I can use whatever device I want? Are you kidding me? What idiot decided that this was a good way to create a nice vibe in their coffeehouse? We welcome anyone who wants to use their screen, but keyboards, they are ruining the peace. We should all take up the war cry, down with keyboards! Seriously, with so many awesome coffee options, skip this place. I would describe their attitude as "stick up the..." and other places are much more welcoming, keyboards and all.
google avatar

Maggie R.

Yelp
Gorgeous place. I was only in Amsterdam for a couple days but ended up going to Bocca 3 times. The filter coffee is ridiculously good and made with a lot of love by very kind baristas. They don't really do to-go, so take your time and watch them make your coffee and then sit for a while, it's easy to get super comfy and lose track of time and I recommend it.
google avatar

Alaine J.

Yelp
Search for "coffee shops in Amsterdam" and you won't see the results you may have naively expected (like I did). Interestingly, coffee shops whose speciality is actually coffee seem to be less of a thing than Amsterdam's "coffee shops". Bocca is filling in that space. The shop is mindfully decorated, serves silky coffee, provides WiFi and offers a handful of seating options. Find yours on a bench, at a table or in a nook. - Wifi: Ask for password Outlets: None seen Hours: Mon-Fri 8a-6p, Sat/Sun 9a-6p Parking: Street parking (but you're probably walking or biking anyway) Menu: Coffee, tea, pastries Noise: 3/10 on an early weekday afternoon
google avatar

Mia D.

Yelp
Caught our eye as we were walking, the layout is very open as you enter. The atmosphere is warm and inviting , to the left of the register there's a huge brown paper roll with the days specials. I had a question about the apple tea and the cashier did not hesitate to explain it too me. Thanks guy with the poofy hair ! Once you place your order you get the cutest table number and sit where ever you like. The ambience was just what we needed to come down from our interesting tour around the city, we kept forgetting here they have a bike lane ‍
google avatar

Saurabh G.

Yelp
No frills coffee place, although I wonder why they have so much floor space without any furniture or tables. Perhaps it's the fact that they don't have enough staff to take care of any more customers than they currently have seating for. I didn't try coffee but had the sencha tea. Presentation was good as was the speed of preparation. Like all hipster coffee spots they have vegan cakes and breads to munch on along with your beverage, but nary any other food item on the menu. WiFi is free and fast. Not much else to say about the place. It's just that simple.
google avatar

Steve Y.

Yelp
100% pure San Francisco hipster 3rd wave coffee shop clone (cf Four Barrel). I feel like there should be a separate type of coffee shop classification on yelp for these types of places. 4 stars cause its a good clone. Not 5 stars cause of what it's a clone of (personal preference).
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Probably the best coffee you'll find in Amsterdam. I've had some awesome experiences with coffee here in which I spend $4-6 and get a thimble's worth of coffee. These guys are super polite. English only? No problem. As always, the Dutch are accommodating and helpful, so there are no barrier issues. Pretty cool, relaxing atmosphere, and a fun place to hang out.
google avatar

Bruce G.

Yelp
What a great find in Amsterdam... just searched for a tea place and went here. I ordered sencha and had low expectations because a coffee place doesn't usually serve sencha correctly... but this place did! A pleasant surprise, the sencha was served perfectly brewed at right temperature and for short period of time. Very vegetal aroma and flavor.
google avatar

William L.

Yelp
My new favorite spot in Amsterdam. I've been a fan of their coffee since I discovered them at the Amsterdam Coffee Festival last year. This newly opened coffeehouse is excellent. Great decor with a very relaxed atmosphere. The interior has a very warm, earthy Scandinavian feel. Pros: - great coffee - nitro coffee - excellent selections of beans cons: - there's only one shop so far.
google avatar

Yaz T.

Yelp
Amazing espresso drinks and great service. The coffee is a light roast. The drinks are very small. Don't be alarmed, this is normal in Amsterdam. Even though it's expensive and I'm on a budget, it's worth it. I was there practically every day while I was visiting (a 2.5 month visit, that is). The atmosphere is so cozy and the regulars are lovely too. I miss the friendly staff! Hope to be back soon! (Only one downside, they don't accommodate modifications at all (for ex., they don't make mochas). What you see is what you get. Even so, I'd go). Sidenote: they also have decaf espresso & it's yummm.

Sultan ..

Yelp
Nice cafe , I tried the new Tanzania beans and I love it totally recommend it to who love the sour taste
google avatar

Yelp
Easily the best coffee spot in Amsterdam. Super friendly staff, great African coffee, and a gorgeous space. They have a really unique menu too (coffee tonic, cascara soda, etc...). Jaap was our barista and he really killed it. Spent 15 minutes with us talking about stuff to do in the city and gave us great recommendations (Scandinavian Embassy and The Butcher). I was super impressed with Jaap's skill and I was also surprised that they test all pour over coffee with a refractometer before serving. Very very good with their technique and care for the customer experience. If you drink any coffee in the city, make sure it happens here.
google avatar

Colette S.

Yelp
I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, as we were able to take shelter from some unexpected cold rain, and were very happy with the beautiful space, but service was fairly slow and the drinks weren't amazing. We ordered a filter coffee and hot chocolate. Considering how quiet it was, they were fairly slow about making the drinks, it was probably best part of 10 minutes before either drink was out, and we were the only people ordering. It's much less crowded than a lot of other fourth-wave coffee shops, felt like a nice airy cafe. There are clean bathrooms. Drinks were beautifully presented, the coffee in a glass jug with a mug that retails for 40 euro (we looked it up), and was tasty although not sensational. Hot chocolate was good and warming on a cold morning. Coffee-obsessed companion said his filter coffee was decent but not anything worth writing home about.
google avatar

Nicolau W.

Yelp
If you want to enjoy intolerance in the middle of Amsterdam, this is the place to bring your laptop in the weekends. Unbelievable. My money and presence are not welcome here.
google avatar

Ilona C.

Yelp
A while ago I have read an article that mentioned Bocca as one of the five best coffee places in Amsterdam. As an avid coffee lover I felt like this place was worth the trip to Amsterdam and boy .. Was I right! The coffee tasted absolutely amazing and I could sense it was made with care. The hospitality of the staff and the inviting interior will definitely make me come back
google avatar

Leena K.

Yelp
Great coffee, and they do pour overs. Trendy little shop tucked away with good pastries as well. Lots of room to sit and chat or do work (free WiFi always a plus).
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
I came to Bocca rather randomly this afternoon (weekday). There were a couple of people, but it was not really filled up. I liked that Bocca is spacious and clean-cut. It exudes a certain calmness with a tint of warmth, making you relaxed, but not making you sleepy. Sorry for the weird description :D The staff is very friendly, and the coffee I had (a regular white) was very good. There was no long wait, so I was happy, since I hate if I need to wait for my caffeine dose. Coming back soon again.
google avatar

Minze C.

Yelp
This is such a nice place. They have great coffee with a very open space and setting. People there are extremely friendly. The coffee is pretty inexpensive for such a high quality. We will definitely come back when we visit Amsterdam again. It is a gem!! Highly recommended.
google avatar

Kirst F.

Yelp
Just the best espresso coffee I've ever had. Went for the Ambella from Ethiopia, perfectly smooth with slightly sweet notes. So delicious. Lovely staff. Really nice place to sit and eat amazing coconut cheesecake squares. Cannot more highly recommend!

Adrian O.

Yelp
Great interior and interesting concept, BUT it was the worst espresso I have had in Europe and second worst coffee I've ever tried to drink. Lovers of Italian style coffee should stay away. It's was real a shame.
google avatar

Cody D.

Yelp
An excellent coffee shop. They take sustainability and ethical sourcing seriously, and on top of it offer a delicious selection of coffees and espressos in a lovely atmosphere.
google avatar

Brett R.

Yelp
Read about this in the New York Times 36 Hours piece. I can't compare Bocca's espresso to any other Amsterdam cafes, but in isolation it was certainly excellent: sweet, rich, and fruity! Decor is industrial chic; anyone visiting from London/Boston/San Francisco should feel right at home. Lots of seating but maybe not good for groups bigger than 4.
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
Very good coffee at a good price! A cappuccino for only 2,5 eur, which is almost 1 eur less as I usually pay in Amsterdam. The venue is open and nice, the service quite fast, will surely return for a good dosage of caffeine.
google avatar

Nele L.

Yelp
Had a quick coffee and lunch break there. The food (smashed pumpkin and goat cheese on toast) was delicious and the staff really nice. I really liked the atmosphere because it felt like I could escape the busy town for a couple of minutes. I'd definitely go there again!
google avatar

Dominique F.

Yelp
Awesome space. Delicious black coffee. Don't allow laptops during the weekend. Accept credit cards. Will be back!
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
Get. The. Croissant. GET THE CROISSANT!! So buttery and delicious. The venue is surprisingly large. I did not get a coffee, but everyone I was with did and they enjoyed these very much as well.
