Fantastic meal full of exciting Mexican dishes and fun cocktails. Everything was tasty and inspired. Our favourite was the ceviche followed closely by the chicken tacos. The service was exceptional with our hosts never missing a beat. The price was a littler higher than your average high-end Mexican cantina however this isn’t your average Mexican venue. We’ll be back!

Beautiful space. We found the staff working at the restaurant very friendly and attentive. The food came out quite quickly which was great coz we were starving! The food is really good and the portion size is good too. I found my Spanish eggs quite tasty and would have it again. A great place for a meal

Beautiful gnocchi and fantastic service! Dined here for Valentine's day and could not fault them. The staff recommended some stunning dishes which we chose and I can't speak more highly of. The wines he recommended were also incredible with such a smooth taste, they were very easy to drink. I loved the chicken dish and dessert was very refreshing, we had the coconut & watermelon granita.

Not over priced for the quality you get. Sat at the bar initially for a glass of wine and a snack but stayed for a main. Oysters we best I've ever had and charcuterie was solid too, recommended wine fit perfectly. Ended up with the steak main (didn't get a photo unfortunately) and was not let down, pickled walnuts made the dish sing. Fun ambiance with music and conversations with bartender, he was all over the restaurant helping people.

Amazing place! First time was about a year ago & now just recently with a group of friends. At my most recent visit we opted for the set menu. I actually preferred the dishes I originally had & was surprised my old review has since disappeared so I don’t have the pics from last year to post unfortunately. The service was friendly and attentive. A place to go for an intimate dinner and or groups as well.

As of the past couple of years, we have booked to go to nice restaurants on New Year’s Eve, rather than face the multitudes of crowds in Sydney Harbour. We did a little research and found a dinner menu at an amazing price at Bodega 1094, in the Tramsheds facility in Glebe. Tramsheds is a large dining facility in an industrial building, the former Rozelle tram building. One of the numerous restaurants is Bodega, 1904. This restaurant and wine store has been brought to us by the team at Porteno and Bodega. For $65, we received a glass of bubbly and 5 courses including dessert. For an extra $50 we could do the matching wines. The menu is predominately Latin American and Spanish inspired tapas and the menu arranged for New Years was pretty much everything we love to eat. Food is made using fresh produce from local suppliers and prepared in tapas style dishes. On New Year’s Eve, you were aslo able to do Ala Carte. We received a glass of NV Cruzat Premier Extra Brut champagne on arrival. The staff were kind enough to top us up with another as the previous dining timeslot was still being served. We appreciated this. The first dish were 2 Sydney rock oysters each with a Yuzu mignonette as well as a Crudo of scallop and finger lime. This went perfectly with the champagne. We very much enjoyed the butterflied wood grilled king prawn and smoky capsicum butter, served with NV Alma Negra Sparkling wine. We then tried a super soft steamed bun, with soft pork belly and a super crispy crackling, served with a tasty flavour of roasted sesame, wombok and salted peanut, served with the 2017 Amalaya Torrontes Riesling. The standout of the dinner was the incredibly delicious. It was the ricotta gnocchi, with zucchini flowers, chervil and a buttery sauce. We could have had a few dishes of this. This dish was paired with 2016 Alpamanta ‘Estate’ Chardonnay. The final main meal was a lovely Hanger steak with kohlrabi, xo. This meat was like a brisket and nice and smokey. Accompanied with a 2015 Tikal ‘Natural’ Malbec Syrah. To end of the meal was a refreshing strawberry granita atop a coconut sorbet. This was lovely. This came with the NV Cumbres Andinas Moscato, a very sweet drink to end on. We very much enjoyed all the food here and look forward to returning, especially for that gnocchi! We sat at the bar, just beside the little wine store for our dinner, but the restaurant does fit larger groups. The wine menu is predominately Spanish based and the Sommelier can assist you to match your dishes. You can also purchase a bottle or two to take home. Bodega 1904 also does a great lunch menu and brunch on the weekend. We thoroughly recommend a visit.

Not sure about other reviews commenting on small portion sizes and pricing - we had the opposite experience. Everything was spot on from the delicious food, excellent and friendly service and nice ambience. The wine store attached is a nice addition.

Tasty but not amazing nor authentic. The aguachile was far too mild- needed more spice and lime for it to be a true aguachile. And the salsa trio was disappointing, I was hoping for something more interesting like a tomatillo sauce rather than a chipotle sauce. The tortillas and tostadas however were fantastic and the restaurant has a nice ambience.

Yelp
This transitioned over to Mexican food a few years back and it is fun spot within the Tramsheds mall. We like to come sit at the counter and enjoy the tacos, and they used to have specials on some nights but that may have been after reopening post-pandemic. Check their menu online, and try it out if you are in the area. https://www.bodega1904.com

Yelp
We swung into the Tramsheds mid afternoon after a short bike ride. Many of the restaurants were closed, but I think we would have wound up in Bodega 1904 no matter what. The upscale 20's diner theme, Ray Charles' "Georgia on my Mind" background music and tapas were just what we were looking for. Service was quick and politely efficient. Since they were one of the few establishments open at the time it was quite full and we ended up seated at the bar, with a great view into the kitchen. We settled on the tiger prawns and woodfired octopus for a light snack. The tiger prawns were basically just quickly steamed/boiled, but that was perfect since they were extremely fresh and sweet. The octopus was (for the most part) cooked well, chewy but still tender, tossed in a zesty dill and onion sauce. Like most of the shops in the Tramsheds, the other food on the menu looked great and though the prices are a bit much for everyday dining, we're looking forward to exploring more next time.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quiet 2015 Cabernet on a Sunday afternoon. Hopped up to the stainless steel bar and was immediately served by a friendly waitress. It wasn't too crowded but the staff were busy cleaning and keeping things in check, not just standing around. It's probably why the place is super clean and well organized. Kudos. I did not try any of the food, but it felt like a great place for a casual, intimate date.

Yelp
These guys offer some good share plates (tapas) and they seem pretty small when they come round, but they are pretty rich so we didn't exit wanting something else. The service is pretty great, very attentive but not obsequious, really lovely balance. We tried a bunch of different dishes and all the staff were across all the dishes as well which was good for descriptions. Probably the one thing that stood out was the blood cake which looks like a brownie but...isn't. It tastes good, think black pudding. They have some great seating areas (seated at tables, booths and around a large serving bar) plus a wine sales area attached to the restaurant as well. Nice if you find one you like - buy a dozen! Will be back.
