On the Grid : Bodega 1900

"The world-famous Adriá brothers opened this small tapas bar, specialising in vermouth. They offer an apparently traditional menu that will surprise you with each choice, such as their mollete de calamars, a classic squid sandwich, but in this case served with chipotle mayonnaise, kim chi and lemon zest; or their spherified false olives…" - Malva Sawada & Enric Badrinas

Excellent authentic quality food! So happy we got a bar seats without reservation as they were full that night. Joseph the owner is shown the best catalan hospitality. Not only took time to explain the food & wine origin and taste. He serve us personally preparing our dish. Even when the restaurant was packed. He did this to all his customers! Giving that restaurant her magic hospitality & charisma! Food was exceptional, delicious & flavorful. Highly recommended if you stay at indigo hotel or dropping by to watch the magic fountain near La Espanya. Reservation recommended.

Amazing place with tasty food and warm and cosy atmosphere! Tried multiple dishes - all were top notch. Oxtail croquettes, fried cheese and butifarra are just perfect!

Bodega Amposta: The Comfort of the Ordinary, Slightly Updated Bodega Amposta sits firmly in the category of “traditional done traditionally,” with just enough modern nods to suggest it’s paying attention to the present. The room has that familiar bodega feel—straightforward, unpretentious, built for regulars—while the menu stays anchored in recognizable comforts: classic flavors, sensible portions, and the reassuring absence of culinary ego. Nothing here reaches for fireworks, and in a way that’s the point. We ate well: plates that do what they’re supposed to do, arriving hot, properly seasoned, and competently handled. There were no glaring mistakes, but also no moments that demanded to be replayed later in conversation. It’s dinner, not a story. The wine situation is the restaurant’s strangest contradiction. There are plenty of bottles, yet the list is presented in a way that feels almost hostile to the diner—messy, unclear, difficult to navigate. Luckily, the service steps in where the paper fails. The staff is genuinely warm, and a good recommendation can salvage the experience, steering you toward something satisfying without making you feel like you’ve had to fight for it. A solid, workmanlike bodega—fine to return to when you want reliability more than revelation. Clean: 6/10 Comfort: 7/10 Food: 7.5/10 Wine: 7/10 Service: 8.5/10 The Experience: 7/10 Price: 60€/pax

A very nice Catalonian restaurant. Everything we tasted was delightful, especially the rusa salad and caneloni. Great service and cold beer, highly recommended.

Excellent food, outstanding service and overall lovely restaurant. We came for dinner tonight and had a lovely evening. The staff were patient, friendly and kind! We ordered many of the dishes to share with our favourites being the poached eggs and mushroom, la bomba and the cheese and honey. But we enjoyed them all! Really great value for how good the food is. We were sat next to a large party who were definitely enjoying themselves (as they should!) however they were rather loud - when we went to pay our waiter offered to invite us to our dessert and coffee to thank us for bearing with the larger party. This, while unnecessary, was a lovely surprise and generous offer - we really appreciated it! Will definitely be back with friends again or also would really recommend for a work/corporate dinner. Thank you team Amposta!

Very good experience with good food and reasonable prices. A hidden gem in my Barcelona experience so far. Not very busy that you dont need reservation. The Croquetes con jamon was excellent. Crispy outside and creamy and inside. Made to perfection. The place is cozy and not like a high end restaurante but it is in fact more relaxing and comfortable. Well if there is some ambient music that would be perfect.

Highly recommended! Great staff and food. Red prawn with chickpeas and olives were especially delicious. Staff spoke english and Mark was attentive and polite despite being very busy at the bar. Perfect night to end our Barcelona trip.

Yelp
This place was great. It was my husband's birthday and our last day on our trip, and this place was a great choice. We had us and 3 kids, no reservation, but we got there shortly after they opened and they found a table for us. We had the house wine and my husband and I ordered the set menu that included a variety of tapas, then we got a few extra dishes for the kids. There was plenty of food for everyone and the dishes just kept coming! We got scallops with white beans that were delicious, a beautiful piece of grilled steak, the patatas bravas were the best we had eaten in Spain, and lots of other stuff. We also got a dessert that was chocolate with olive oil and bread, which sounded weird but was absolutely lovely. A great send-off meal for us to remember Barcelona by!

Yelp
Just had late dinner. They were super busy so we sat at the counter. We were able to have nice interactions with the waiter/bar tender and were able to observe the chef at work--amazing to watch him turn out dish after dish from the tiny space! Food was amazing!! we had croquettes (piping hot!), asparagus with Romesco sauce and a pot of crayfish which were more like large prawns. We sopped up all the juice and caramelized onions with crusty bread. They were all excellent! The restaurant is on a very quiet neighborhood street, just one block off of a major thorough-way. What we observed was patrons were mostly local regulars; in fact, we may have been the only out-of-towers. One of the most memorable evening in Barcelona. Thank you!
