A very wooden, classic Catalan restaurant, love it. Recommend dishes: bread with tuna and anchovies Egg with mushroom and squid Calamari with beans (my favorite of the place) Catalan cream The baked codfish wasn’t impressive but still good.

A few weeks ago, my wife came back from a work lunch talking about a great tomato salad she had at Bodega Sapúlveda. The tomatoes were like the ones we used to eat when we were young... she almost was obsessed with that salad! So a few days after that, while I was looking for a place to have lunch with a group of friends, she suggested we try it out again. You can imagine how high my expectations were! We were 7 and, for some reason, Google maps wouldn't allow me to book for more than 6. So I wrote a comment that we would be 7 in the note field of the booking form. When we arrived, the note hadn't been transferred: technical issue, that can happen. Well, according to the manager there, I was lying and I had never put a note. 🤬 And apparently, accommodating 5 adults + 2 5-year-old, instead of 6 adults she thought we were, was hell for her. She repeated so many times! We felt so unwelcome that we almost left. 😡 Anyway, they ended up finding a table for us and we ordered lots of typical Spanish dishes and the famous salad. Apart from the white beans and the snails, which really were excellent, the rest was neutral... ALL the rest, including the tomatoes! 😤 (it's not me, my wife confirmed). The service at the table was good in general, except they never changed our plates so we ended up eating blood sausage in tuna oil... 🥴 Well, I thought the service was ok until, a few minutes after leaving, I checked the bill and realized that they had charged us for 6 shares of pa amb tomàquet: €20 in total! Here's what happened at the table: the waiter offered bread to eat with the ham and we said yes. Then he came back and offered some more bread and we said yes again. I didn't ask for 6 shares!!!!! He should have asked because for €3+ per share, I would have never accepted it. That simply is unacceptable. Such a bad experience! 😱 Quality & taste: 7/10 Quantities: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 4/10 Service: 0/10 How I felt afterwards: 2/10 More on IG @runnerandfoodie

Great local high quality ingredients, traditional Spanish/Catalan food. Small place 'romantic' atmosphere and excellent service. Good wine list.

We really enjoyed our dinner here and plan to return -- as often as possible: there were so many tempting things on the menu! Carefully prepared dishes, and a variety of exquisite ingredients (mojama, cecina de León, rovellones). Informal, with professional service. Large wine selection and their house red is excellent. We're delighted to have a restaurant this good so close to home. The same woman served us as when we were visiting 3 years ago -- great to see such care and continuity.

We were very very lucky to find this restaurant. It was late in the night and we couldn’t find any other restaurant opened. This restaurant is like a Jewel of the jewels. We ordered simple Grilled beef steak and Grilled fish of the day (actually fish was erroneously ordered.) Amazing!!! Awesome!!! We felt catalunian food is a bit salty but not here. Highly highly recommended.

Google
Exclusive, clean, and quiet atmosphere with a long menu of classic Spanish tapas and dishes. The service is fantastic, very attentive and informative, formal. 15 euros for small tapas, the price counts for atmosphere and service. Bodega Sepúlveda is a gem, quiet and classy escape from the chaos of Ronda Sant Antoni.

Absolutely horrible service!!! We had cosy dinner when a party of seven/eight arrived, this ruined the whole mood. There were other tables seated but we were not bothered by this, we have been out eating at restaurants before. This new party was so loud we could not hear each other when we were seated next to each other. We opted to leave the restaurant before we had dessert. The staff did nothing to help in this situation, on our way out we gave our feedback to the lady behind the desk, we were met with a sarcastic "everybody complains to me" and a just as sarcastic answer that we had not booked a table, and that WE should have told the party ourselves to be quiet. Not recommend!!!

Yelp
We happened to rent an AirBnB apartment a couple of doors down, so we stopped by here one night for dinner. Oh my! We are so happy we did! We started with a selection of olives, and I swear those are the most beautiful tasting olives I have ever eaten! So flavorful -- almost fruity, yet briny, succulent and hard to put into words how delicious they were -- I couldn't stop eating them! We also ordered the Spicy Chorizos, the "Coca Sepulveda" (Tuna with accoutrements), the Salad Mezclum of the House, Clams witrh white beans, and a couple of orders of the Coca Bread with Tomato. All of it was superb, and we enjoyed it with a bottle of Spanish white wine that our server recommended. Was a gorgeous, leisurely dinner that ended a fine day of touring a fine city!

Yelp
We started off with a ton of clams, delicious! I then had a pasta plate and ordered some ice cream for dessert. Four of us, good times, great food and drinks. Staff very friendly and professional. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
Bodega Sepulveda was a pleasant surprise on my trip to Barcelona. I met some friends there who live in the city and was pleasantly greeted by the owner whom promptly seated us. First course was the grilled mushroom caps drizzled with a little of olive oil (very tasty). 2nd was the morcilla which tasted like a piece of blood heaven. Very well prepared and cooked thoroughly with the rice component. Almost a chocolate/smoked flavor as we accompanied it with a devilish Spanish red that was perfectly balanced. 3rd and 4th dishes were the grilled gambas split in and razor clams that were exceptional. Definitely stop in for a warm wonderful meal with great service!! Salud!

Yelp
We met Catalan friends for dinner in mid September 2015 and it was splendid. The entire experience was very much what we expect in Barcelona. You meet, drink and converse as waves of delicious food is delivered to the table. You likely need someone fluent in Catalan to navigate the menu and I believe it is best to have a small group as tapas-like food is to be shared. The little compartment where we seated included two tables divided by the isle, and facilitate conversation. Quiet, somber dining is not what the Spanish experience is about. If you find yourself in such a setting, run away and find a lively place instead. The food is superb. Authentic, gritty, impeccable. Extensive Spanish wine list, which pairs to perfection with centuries old food profiles. You want the real stuff? This is it. I really cannot recommend it more highly. Reservations are necessary. Yelp
You pay for the atmosphere here. The dishes are done well but are mostly classics that are priced a bit higher than other places. It's geared as much to the tourists as the locals with the menu in English and French yet it's not a tourist trap. The pacing is Spanish style so be prepared to have lesurely meal over a couple of hours. It's not a tapas bar and more a white linen restaurant. All the standards like tortillas, the shrimp and octopus were done right. They have larger plates of steak and what not. The place is often packed post 9pm until 11pm especially when there is an event or conference going on. Is it worth making a special detour for, Absolutely not. But if you live in the area and want a more relaxed dinner this is an good local place.

Yelp
One the best places for authentic Tapas! A local favorite from my understanding. I've been to this restaurant several times. I've had the fried small fish, octupus, white beans with baby squid, steak, and cockles. Everything was so delicious! I highly recommend.

Yelp
Before you go to the other tapas places in Barca try this restaurant so you know how it should really taste. Simple tapas made out off good ingredients without hiding the true taste of them. Lovely atmosphere and popular among locals.

Yelp
Sepulveda offers the very best small plates in the city. Nice wine list too. Authentic Catalan cuisine in a family-run institution. For dinner. Reservations a must.
