Second time here, travel from SA and come here every time we’re in Melbourne. Definitely do the feed me menu the first time to find what you like- we had the vegan feed me the first trip and this time settled with our faves of the vegan options; elote, papas, black bean tacos and broccolini. Exceptional, delicious and well priced meal. Huge drinks menu too. Nice little restaurant space, very intimate great atmosphere. Staff always welcoming and quick.

If you plan on doing the bottomless brunch, make sure you eat before Because the drinks are the only good thing about it, the food was trash, had no flavour, only the corn on the cob and Tacos were great, everything else was just so mid. For such basic cuisine our whole group was truly shocked with how flavourless the mains were. At least the service for the drinks during bottomless were constant snf flowing. Good choice of cocktails. But yeah really disappointed with the food, thought it'd be better

I had great time at Bodega Underground and highly recommend a visit. The service and team were team were great. Even though busy, very attentive. I went with the “feed me” set menu, which essentially is the highlights of the menu. Every dish was fantastic - I particularly liked the black bean taco. We’ll definitely be back.

Visited Bodega Underground to celebrate a birthday and had high hopes given the great reviews — and while the food itself was genuinely good, a few things let the experience down. We ordered five dishes and drinks, but everything arrived at once, which made us rush through the meal just to stop it from getting cold. It took away from the celebration vibe and felt more like a food sprint than a dinner. What really threw us off though was the staff sweeping the floor with a broom and dustpan literally right in front of us while we were eating. I mean… eating with dust floating around? Not ideal. And to top it off, one of the staff kept glancing over at our table like she was monitoring our bites — kind of uncomfortable when you’re just trying to enjoy your meal. Didn’t want to make a fuss since it was my birthday, but honestly, for a place with such high ratings, I expected better attention to the dining experience. The food has potential, but the overall vibe and service need some serious work. Want to visit again if they improve otherwise not.

Probably one of the best bottomless brunch in the city centre!service is great, food delicious and drinks amazing. My favorite new mimosa is the mex way! Came here with a friend on a busy Saturday afternoon and we never felt left behind. I loved everything about it. The place is rather small and still full of character. Highly recommended especially for groups; we ll ve surely back!

Great underground vibe and interior! Feed me was such good value for how much you get. The lamb ribs, corn, bira taco and guacamole were the stand outs. Cabbage was a bit mushy, would have been better roasted and charred. Fish taco had a lot of batter. Flavor was still good though. Perfect for a city feed with mates to kick off the night.

My first visit to Bodega Underground was great. We all ordered the set menu and were treated to a delightful Mexican feast bursting with flavor. Every dish was delicious. I was particularly impressed by the street corn, which was probably some of the best I've had. However, my second visit wasn't as enjoyable. The margaritas are just not good, and half of them don't come with salt on the rim, which is an automatic fail in my book. I also really dislike the policy that if anyone wants to order the set menu, the whole table has to follow suit, even though the menu says 2pp minimum. Sensing our frustration, the venue apologised with some complimentary chips and salsa, which we appreciated. But it is still just irritating and nonsensical.

Yelp
Bodega Underground in Melbourne has become a personal favorite, with three visits so far. The standout dish is undoubtedly the fish taco--crispy, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Although the first serving seemed a bit modest compared to neighboring tables, the taste more than compensated, prompting return visits. The birria taco is also commendable, but the fish taco remains unparalleled. The chicken wings and the potatoes were good as well. Potatoes were cut all different sizes. I prefer the smaller crispy ones. The sauce on the chicken had me licking my fingers for real. Definitely not for a first date!! The chips and guacamole with salsa are exceptional...no dry chips!!! Their menu is gluten free!!! The gluten-free churros are a must-try; we came back once just for the churros!! Service at Bodega Underground is consistently excellent. Making reservations in advance has ensured prompt seating on each occasion.. when we came just for churros we had no reservations but there was no wait. The decor is fun and interesting . Some walls and the ceiling are covered in old but colored newspaper(?) giving the space a unique, slightly vintage feel. It makes the atmosphere lively and different from your typical Mexican spot.

Yelp
Cute little spot for some yummy tacos and other Mexican street food. We met up with a small group and found the service and the food both very good.

Yelp
Nice old skool tele-novela vibe with very loud atmosphere. I was hoping for Sangria but not to be found on menu. Settled for a Marguerita which was more solid ice than drink. It was okay. Sad to say that as I love a crushed ice salty Marguerita. This was not that. Shared Watermelon Aguachile and Pollo Mexicana. Aquachile was ok, but too much raw red onion for my taste. Pollo Mexicana, again, not the best. A bit MFC as opposed to KFC. Too much salt, fat and 'chipotle whatever' It's a good attempt at creating an underground Mexo feel, but overall it was far too 'try-hard' to be something I would return to.

Yelp
Service and cocktails were great. The food was disgusting. The guacamole is tasted like it was out of a tube there was no hot sauce on the tables the tacos were bland and the fish taco was so oily I felt sick straight after. I didn't end up eating more than half of what I order because it was so bad. They would do well if they cut out all food service and just stuck to a bar

Yelp
This funky little haunt was just what my friends and I needed on a rainy Saturday night in the city. Walk down the stairs and you are surrounded by old Mexican pulp movie posters. The walls are literally covered in them! It definitely adds a cool vibe to this late night taqueria and mexcaleria. Seats are wooden booths and one central table with bar seating. The staff were friendly and accommodating and were quick to offer us a tab for the night. We drank here for quite a few hours and was impressed by the cool tunes and atmosphere. Definitely not pretentious in any way, just a great place for some fun times. My only gripe was their gin was Gordons. I am a gin drinker from way back and would have preferred Tanqeray or at least Hendricks, but I have to remember it was a tequila bar and not a gin venue.

Yelp
Am very happy it's completely gluten free. Service and atmosphere are both great. Corn cob was nice. Black bean tacos has a great flavour, just disappointed that the filling and soft tacos were cold. I will come back, but just wish they would serve the tacos and filling hot, or at least warm. Figure this is not an issue if you eat meat dishes.

Yelp
First time we ducked downstairs to what would become Bodega the two super friendly guys running the place had just been given the keys and were doing some great drinks specials to move the old stock they inherited. They then closed for a few weeks for renos, and next time we popped by it was coincidentally the official opening night. While the fit out isn't a million miles away from the previous incarnation as East End Den, they've done enough to put their own stamp on things with a few nice touches here and there, and the tunes seem to have a bit of a cool throwback vibe going on. I hear rumblings that tacos are coming soon, which sounds amazing if true, and either way this is still a cool little bar in the theater district.

Yelp
Coming from the States on vacation found this Lil hole in the wall Latin Tequila Bar and felt like I was home very old school Boracho feel from the novella wall paper all the way to the old black and white TV in the corner of the bar showing snow on it. Would recommend to any bar hopper in Melbourne or anyone visiting from the states. Julian and Jeff are great and will take care of you
