A 48-Hour Itinerary for Córdoba, Spain

"Bodegas Campos opened in 1908 and was initially dedicated to aging and selling wines from the Montilla-Moriles region. In the 1980s, it expanded to include a hotel and restaurant, where visitors can enjoy traditional dishes and a drink in its tavern, surrounded by bullfighting posters and barrels signed by illustrious visitors."

We had a wonderful experience at Bodegas Campos last night. The food was incredible. The best I’ve had in Andalucía so far. The ox tail and Iberian pork cheek were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. They have an extensive wine list as well. The service was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was intimate and felt very traditional. Though it was pricey, I would fully recommend eating here if you can.

Stumbled upon this place and had to stop in for a drink and tapa. Bartender was extremely accommodating and friendly. Generous pour too! Food was excellent. We sat at bar, but dining room looked very elegant. Highly recommend.

Great food. We were recommend to try Rabo de Toro while in Córdoba and it was great. They have two areas, the main restaurants and the tavern. We sat at the tavern as there were no tables on the other side but we were able to order from both menus.

We came for lunch around 2 pm after sight seeing. We stopped for a snack earlier in the day forgetting that we has this reservation. So, we are not that hungry when we got here. We just ordered a light meal so it is hard judge the food here, but we had no complaints with the food we had or the service. The food seemed fresh. The bar looked like it might have been the cooler more happening place to stop around 2 pm for a drink.

The staff was not only kind but also incredibly helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend this winery and restaurant for a memorable dining experience. Dinner at the Taberna. Great atmosphere, looks like you enter a true institution. All the waiters are super nice. The food though is only average, all very heavy and fat. I would still recommend the Pescaito frito, great pick.

Nice restaurant and reasonable price. We had a delightful evening at Bodegas Campos in Cordoba. The lunch was exceptional, with delicious food and the free tasty bread. I recommend the fried cod (Dados de Bacalao) it was one of the best I’ve have eaten, we also ordered the eggplant (1/2 berejenas), Torreznos, sangria and we tried the chickpeas soup. The staff was helpful and kind, overall was a positive experience so far. You’d better make a reservation in advance, as arriving without a reservation is a long wait. The only thing that wasn't ok for me was the bathroom, but it could be the season when there are a lot of small flies and there were a lot of them around the toilet.

This establishment is highly recommended during your visit to Cordova. The ambiance is remarkable, featuring a labyrinth of rooms and gardens where you can select your preferred seating. The culinary offerings are exceptional. I personally recommend the rabo de toro, which is prepared using tender and flavorful smaller pieces of the tail. Additional suggestions include the Iberian ham and the ensalada Ruse. Our server, Andrea, provided exemplary service, demonstrating attentiveness and a pleasant demeanor. This establishment is a must-visit.

Yelp
This place is highly recommended in a few guidebooks and I can see why - lots of locals and the whole place is cute, a little tour after the meal is good (if there aren't events at the different rooms / gardens). However, the food's just so-so and comparatively overpriced in the area. The portions are small and the cooking's nothing to write home about. The only good thing is they have their own complimentary parking (be sure to tip the nice guard!).

Yelp
Enjoyed an early dinner here in the bar area (full menu was available and had comfy tables). This place was kid friendly. We ordered a lot of food. My favorite was the fried cod pieces. My wife also enjoyed the artichokes. The meat stew dishes were also good. The rest of the dishes were a bit of a blur. Good wine and excellent sherry. You can buy some here to take home with you. This restaurant had some of the best bread we had in all of Spain.

Yelp
After visiting the Mezquita, we wanted to try this place because of all the rave reviews. It's less than a 10-min walk from the Mezquita and was easy to find. We had a late lunch and there was no wait. We were seated at a table in the bar area. We each had a drink and shared a plate of Jamon Iberico & Salmorejo (Cordoba's version of gazpacho). Both were very good and would recommend it to anyone. I wanted to try their Rabo de Toro (Oxtail) but we weren't that hungry because it's a minimum 2 person order.

Yelp
My very favorite Tapa restaurant. We love Córdoba and this is the very best place to go. Great Jamon, cold beer, good wine. This is the bomb.

Yelp
Pleasant ambiance with unique, traditional Audalucian dishes. We appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff. Our meal was memorable for the many different preparations we experienced for the first time. Despite being near the Mezquita, Bodegas Campos isn't a tourist trap, but filled with locals. Using the online menu to name some of the dishes we tried: "Tuna salad with tuna and prawns" is a mayonnaise based potato salad with diced shrimp and cooked tuna. Interesting cold starter with a tang. "Grilled potatoes with minced sausage" is another cold starter of sliced potato with crumbled chorizo. Nice balance of flavors between mild potato and spicy sausage. "Pisto with poultry egg" is a tasty ratatouille topped with a fried egg. Other dishes weren't listed in the online menu: A cold, tangy, white soup was refreshing. Sautéed pork loin was flavorful with a sweet glaze. Shrimp fried in a thin dough provided a rich crunchy element to our meal.

Yelp
Nice and cozy place in terms of decoration but the food is so not up to the expectations. The flamenquin was no better than any other we tried in a daily menu bar; the cod was literally 5cm square and poorly desalted (forget about fresh fish), and so on. The overall was highly disappointing. The good name and fame don't match the current quality.

Yelp
Very good food and not too far from Mezquita so this makes for a perfect restaurant to enjoy before the tour. The service was quite good as was the food. We had jamon iberico, croquetas, soap, patatas huevos...all very tasty.

Yelp
I have been many times to this place... It is not the typical restaurant you can afford very often, but time to time it is a great choice for special occasions/celebrations. Fine traditional Cordoba tapas and dishes, including the Rabo de Toro and Salmorejo. Great selection of meat and fish, and large wine list. The place is unique: it is like an old traditional house, in the hearth of the historic district. Excellent stuff, although sometimes, when the restaurant is full, I was served by some waiters that did not meet the expectations. So I suggest the manager to check this out. But overall, a great restaurant. Probably, the best fine dining one in the city of Córdoba.

Yelp
Delicious food, although you may have to wait on a busy night. The family and I got lucky and found a seat immediately. I had the gazpacho de almendras (almond gazpacho), flamenquines (deep-fried ham rolls, a specialty in Córdoba), and presa ibérica. The gazpacho was wonderful and the meat was, as the name implies, rustic style browned in olive oil. Very tasty. Though if you are a fan of flamenquines, the best ones in town are a block away at La Tinaja. What really left us impressed were the two desserts we shared, a brownie topped with vanilla icecream, and cinnamon icecream. Both of these were fantastic and the perfect size to share. The texture of the brownie was amazingly light and satisfying without a hint of the gooey ooze that one expects in the U.S.

Yelp
Great, interesting and welcoming restaurant. Beautiful ambiance and menu of local dishes including Cordoba's version of paella, various fish and meat dishes -- all very good. Service was excellent and fascinating walk around the building to see the signed wine casks.
