Bodegas Magnus

We had an amazing lunch here. The people are all lovely and so attentive, the grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious and the wine is some of the best we had in Bolivia (and we had a lot!). This experience was a lot more memorable than the multi-winery tour we did the day before in Tarija. The small family run wineries are always better! Great value, you won't regret it.

We visited while on holiday from Santa Cruz. The wine is amazing, the tour was so lovely. When family members of the business give you the tour and love what they do it's a wonderful sign of a great business. The food was amazing. We will be back.

An incredible experience! Would really recommend going. This was better than all the vineyards we went to in our travels in Argentina. Amazing service, beautiful grounds and a reasonable price for the afternoon considering the value of the lunch and all the drinks you get. Thank you very much for having us! The best bodega … We are on a year long tour of South America from the U.K., and our Airbnb hosts in Tarija recommend Bodega Magnus to us. It was hands down one of the loveliest vineyards we have visited (in either Europe or S America) and we would wholeheartedly recommend it to others. It is a smallish family run bodega with a beautiful private chapel, and several of the family’s artefacts collected over the decades. Upon arrival we were given a glass of chilled Sangini, and a glass of Chuflay, which is a longer drink mixed with Ginger Ale. Following a tour of the premises we had a three course paired lunch which was utterly delicious. We had two types of bruschetta to start (and the owners were kind enough to substitute out cheese for my husband, with some prior notice given). The main course was a very tasty slab of beef, with fresh salad (from their garden) and roasted new potatoes. Dessert was also very tasty, and the wines themselves in our opinion are first class (and the servings VERY generous). All in all we had a wonderful day, made even better by Liz, the co-owner who is clearly passionate about the bodega and its history.

Magnus was hands down our favorite winery that we visited in Tarija. The place is absolutely beautiful. The personal tour from Liz, the winemaker and “head lady in charge” made the visit for us. We love a smaller, family run bodega like Magnus. This one is a must visit on your tour of Tarija! And the wines were very good - standouts for us were the Moscatel, Rosé, and Cab Sauvignon/Merlot blend.

Thank you so much to the lovely and incredibly kind Luciana and Patricia! Luciana called another vineyard for us to set up a reservation for the next day. She is a class act! We had an amazing time talking, drinking, and relishing in the gorgeous wine, history, and land that is Magnus. Pro tip: try "Algo" their delicious and refreshing drink! Once you find Magnus, you will be so grateful that you came to try their wines because they are truly excellent. Come here on your own, you don't need to pay for a tour that will rush you through each vineyard. Credit card accepted.
