Did not stay at hotel stayed in very fancy place in Elciego down the road. They recommended this restaurant for dinner. Outstanding food, excellent wine from their winery, beautiful service. Reasonable prices for the excellence ot the food and wine. Traditional foods perfectly done.

Review is for the restaurant only. Mixed feelings. Beautiful setting in a historical building. We had the blood sausage with peppers, not good, served liquid, like a blood stew. The ribeye (actually NY strip) was awesome, tender and delicious. So were the lamb cutlets. The French fries tasted like stale oil. The wine was warm and average and the serving size ridiculously small. Fish and chuletón are overpriced, even though the quality looks top notch.

We were so happy we chose this place. It was perfect. Entering the building was impressive, so historic and beautiful. We received such a great welcome from the lovely owner Javier. It was a pleasure speaking with him throughout our stay there. We loved our bedroom and the breakfast was so beautifully presented at our table the next morning ( a great selection of fruits, beverage's, local cheeses, meats etc) We also ate dinner at their restaurant and it was fabulous. The lovely lady who served us was so informative and helpful when choosing from the menu and and wine list from their own winery. It was the best dinner and wine we had during our entire trip. Thank you to the lovely yousef (hope i spelt correctly) who very kindly offered a tour of the cave winery downstairs ( Also thanks for your patience with our attempts at speaking french with an Irish accent! ) .His enthusiasm and passion for his job was wonderful. This is a generational family business with amazing staff.It's clear that they all work so hard in maintaining this successful and special place. We look forward to a return visit in the future. Dining at Mayor de Migueloa was an unforgettable experience. The food was outstanding — the meat, in particular, was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The atmosphere is elegant yet authentic, making it a truly special setting. A highlight of the evening was Rosemary, who went above and beyond to make our experience unique. After dinner, she graciously showed us the historic bodega and las barricas, sharing the rich history and passion behind the place. This personal touch made the night even more memorable. An absolute must-visit in Rioja!

We had a great time staying here. We were on a cycle tour and this is one of the hotels that was prebooked for us.|We were met on the street by our host who was welcoming and extremely friendly. |The rooms and ambiance of the hotel were charming and very true to the origins of the building.|We did the wine tour and tasting (not to be missed) with our very knowledgeable guide who walked us through the unique wine making process they have and the history of the city (and hotel).|We had embraced the local custom of dining late and even though we were the only ones in the dining room, there was no rush and the meal was excellent.|This stay and experience was one of the highlights of our Spanish adventure and I can’t state this enough.|As an aside the wine they produce is excellent.

We stayed 2 nights in the Hotel which is a historic “Posada” from 1619! The property was flawless and beautiful. The room was amazing and gave you the feeling of going back in time and spending a few nights surrounded by 17 century history. The owner, Javier, was wonderful and took personal interest in our stay being the best possible. Like the restaurant so much we ate there both nights! The sea bass was wonderful by the way. The town of LaGuardia is a walled medieval town which hasn’t changed much, just magical. I don’t say this often, but I’m definitely returning!

We went to the restaurant and were served by the owner and another nice waitress. The food was so delicious as was the wine. The owner showed us the cellar after to see where the wine is stored and told us a little about his family and the history.

Really nice food. Steak was incredible. The owner told us about this history of the building (very old) and brought us to his wine bodega cellar for a little tour
