This was my second time back at Bodhi Khaya for a personal retreat and it honestly felt like coming home. A beautiful home in the middle of nature which you get to explore, walk barefoot in the rolling fynbos hills, swim in a fresh pristine dam and go sweat out all your stress in a wood fired sauna straight after. A home where you’re fed like royalty and every day, 3 times a day, I would hear “OMG how good?!” Coming from somewhere in the dining area. A home where you’re guided through delicious daily meditation and mindfulness practices and invigorating yoga with two of the most incredible teachers in Jodi and Belinda. I’m not even going to start on how good the Reiki with Graeme and Massages with Beatrice and Zenta were because we’ll be here all day 😉 - but they were the most beautiful sessions I didn’t even know how much I needed until I had them. But mostly it felt like coming home to the heart, spirit and an abundance on joyful stillness. Places we so easily forget about in our busy lives. Bodhi Khaya is consistent in helping guide you back to the most important moment of your life- The present moment. The right here and now. I’m so grateful to have found this incredible corner of the earth and the beautiful space created by the people that run it so incredibly. I can’t recommend it enough. Good. Flipping. Vibes 🌞 Warwick

We came over from Scotland to do yoga and dance 5Rhythms - themed Soulful Joy. What an amazing pleasure to arrive at Bodhi Khaya and be welcomed with such grace. The venue offered a beautiful meditation/yoga/dance hall, spacious rooms with plenty of space to relax, reflect, or be as active as is needed. All our requests were beautifully attended to and Jodie and Tom were always available for support, from getting the trailer and van back on the road to making sure there are fresh lemon and ginger and herbs for hot drinks. The food was amazing and prepared with love. The sauna was fired up on request most days and the fire pit a delight on our last evening. We had a tree snake keeping an eye on us and a crab that came for a jig with us one morning in the hall. We felt welcomed by all and that our time at Bodhi Khaya was way too short. Fantastic centre with a big heart.

Review of the SiouxZ Kleintjes Retreat at Bhodi Khaya (For Moms Experiencing Child Loss) The Sioux Kleintjies retreat held at Bhodi Khaya was more than just a getaway; it was a deeply healing and transformative experience for mothers navigating the unimaginable pain of child loss. It provided a much-needed sanctuary to grieve, connect, and begin to process our journeys. The location itself is utterly serene, situated beautifully on the whale coast. This peaceful environment provided the perfect backdrop for introspection and healing. Adding to the overall nurturing experience was the excellent vegetarian food provided throughout the retreat—it was delicious, nourishing, and clearly prepared with love and care. The group dynamic was truly special. Despite all coming from vastly different walks of life, we quickly formed a warm, supportive, and understanding community. It was a powerful reminder that while our circumstances of loss were unique, the depth of our pain and our need for connection were shared. I am profoundly grateful for the lifelong bonds that were forged during our time together. Furthermore, the programme was perfect. Every element—from the schedule to the activities and the overall structure—was thoughtfully designed with sensitivity and care for our unique emotional needs. The retreat struck a beautiful balance, offering space for reflection and solace while also facilitating meaningful group interactions. I highly recommend this retreat to any mother who needs a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment to honor her child and connect with others who truly understand. It was an invaluable experience that offered both comfort and hope.

We went to Bodhi Khaya for a plant-based cooking retreat. What an explosion of tastes and new flavours offered by Bodhi Khaya head chef Kate and her co-facilitator, artist and baker extraordinare Tina Bester. The first day was high interactive - we spent out time bottling and pickling and exploring. Day 2 and 2 were more cooking demonstrations but felt interactive because of the welcomed Q&A. There was time every afternoon for self care and play. Highly recommended. I have been to Bodhi Khaya before and do think a lick of fresh paint in the rooms and some basic upgrades like a change in carpets etc would be welcome. Otherwise a special and highly memorable experience.

Bodhi Khaya exceeded my expectations. What a wonderful place. There is a bit of everything to keep you occupied as well as lots of down time to be in nature and recharge your batteries. The facilities are well kept and clean, the food is exceptional and everyone at the retreat looked after us well. I would highly recommend a weekend away to recharge, connect with nature, stretch your body with yoga or simply sit on the porch and read a book.

This is our second time to Bodhi Khaya and it was as fabulous as the first time. We did the 3 day retreat this time - having done the 2 day in April. We were spoilt with unbelievable yummy food made with such love and care and all the wonderful activities. Our accommodation in a Garden room was so calming overlooking the mountain and the heater kept us toasty on very chilly nights and mornings. Soul food, meeting new people and the energy of the natural goodness is restorative. Thank you to all staff and instructors who made our stay so special - we will be back for dam swimming and sauna time.

I did the 3-day personal retreat and it was just what my body, mind and soul needed to rejuvenate. The surrounding nature is beautiful and the food was excellent! I appreciated that there was no compulsory schedule -- one could pick and choose the activities that you wanted to join (meditation, yoga, etc). The reason for my 4 stars for the room is because the shower curtain rail in my room was a bit temperamental - needs some attention. Thanks for a wonderful experience, I will definitely be back!

I was fortunate to attended a Kundalini retreat at Bodhi Khaya, and I left forever changed. 🧚🏻‍♀️ To the land: ancient, holding, whispering... thank you. 🌿 To the people: seen and unseen... thank you for the soft ways you showed up. 👁 To our Kundalini facilitator (Tatum my Totem) and every attendee: thank you for the shared breath, the sacred space, the laughter, and the tears. You were each a mirror. 🪞 A special thank you to Henro, the sacred firekeeper, for lighting the flames that kept us warm, safe, and seen. 🔥 And finally, to Jodhi, from the center of management: thank you for unknowingly teaching me a life lesson I will carry with me for a long time. May you be deeply blessed. 🙏🏻 This place is more than a retreat space... It’s a portal back to soul. 🔮 I’ll be back. 🪄 With all my love and well wishes, Tania "Fairy Godmother" Roberts 💛💛💛
