Yelp
I am not an Earth mother, flower-covered, hug-giving, love-spouting rainbow person, and I tend to be uncomfortable around those who are. However, Body, while appearing to be run by such people, impressed. I was able to ignore the $100 yoga clothes hanging in the attached store, and tune out the oms of the classes taking place in the attached studio, and just enjoy the food.
To be a good vegan restauranteur, you need to be creative. Body is. They don't just take traditional dishes and substitute tofu for meat and soy cheese for cheese. We ordered raw pesto-ghetti, carrot-cucumber-parsley-cabbage juice, and raw nut tuna pate. For dessert, we had a superfood truffle and a jasmine green tea truffle.
All were good. The juice nearly took my head off with potency even while sipping it through a straw. Why was it brown? None of the ingredients were brown. Who cares? Not me.
The pate (does it have tuna in it or what? Couldn't tell) was served with crusty bread that showcased it perfectly.
The pesto-ghetti was made with zucchini shaved into strings, and was extremely flavorful. No one missed the carbs. It had a strong olive-y flavor that, even for me, was not a turnoff.
I preferred the tea truffle to the superfood truffle, as the superfood truffle tasted like they had thrown everything healthy on earth into it - coconut, maybe carob, acai berries perhaps? I really couldn't tell, but it was like eating a granola bar of health. I'm sure that's what it was going for, but I preferred the smooth creaminess of the jasmine green tea!
Service was somewhat confusing and very leisurely, but I hope one wouldn't expect anything else from a combination yoga-spa-daycare-boutique-fitness-clothing store-cafe.
