In the world of colon hydrotherapy, it is ALL about the 'release' and I had some amazing releases at Body Z Alive, thanks to the expertise of Lou, the owner, who is also amazing!
A lot of colon hydrotherapists do not let you fill very much before stopping the flow of water and allowing you to release. If you have never had a colonic before or it is your first few times, this is a good thing because, of course, the colon hydrotherapist is there to guide you and help you eliminate as much waste as possible in a safe, gentle and supportive manner. However, after many years of colonics, I know what works for my body and what doesn't work. When I have long, slow fills, I have really good releases! Of course, sometimes there are gas bubbles and you need to do a few, quick shorter fills to eliminate the gas!
On my first visit, Lou immediately put me at ease, which is very important when you are about to have such an intimate experience as a colonic! She has a hands-on-approach and gently massages your abdomen, which also greatly aids in a having a better release.
Lou is welcoming, caring, highly knowledgeable about health (e.g. the role digestion plays in one's health or how dairy and gluten, aside from being acidic, can be very constipating) and supportive. She may give a few tips or suggestions, depending on the client's individual needs, on how to optimize your elimination or how to deal with chronic constipation (perhaps having a series of colonics in a short period of time to get things 'moving' again and to help improve digestion).
I would highly recommend Lou and Body Z Alive, which is housed in an inviting, intimate, relaxing and immaculately clean office space!
