What's better than a Sunday morning brunch?
The wife and I have been to our share of disappointing brunches. We either end up leaving hungry, paying too much for too little, or eating an uninspired breakfast that neglects the "-unch" suffix of brunch. When it comes to the brunch at Boentje, none of these things are true.
We both ordered the waffle of the week, which came with a marinated pulled chicken and tomato sauce. Delicious. The little accompanying salad was a nice touch as well, especially with the almonds. That's not all though. The yogurt with granola was so so tasty, as well as the preserved lemon(?) paste(?)/spread(?) on the other waffle... Oh and there's cookie dough for some reason (it's pretty good too.)
To drink, I had a flat white, and the wife a cappuccino with oat milk. Both were made very well. The wife also got a tea, and myself? a cidre from local establishment Joran (worth trying too!).
Oh... Did I mention they also do all you can eat bread with jams and spreads? Yeah. Amazing. That spéculoos spread was to die for.
We left stuffed--granted we ate our share of bread and jams. This is the best brunch I've had in a very long time!
