Such a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Jakarta. It’s easily reachable by public transportation using the commuter line and green angkot (angkutan kota). The area is huge, but the scenery makes you forget how many steps you’ve walked. There are also several spots where you can rent bikes, either classic or electric. Make sure to bring your own water to stay hydrated!

A wonderful way to explore nature and history in Bogor. Bogor Botanical Gardens offers a convenient electric car service that allows visitors to explore the vast area together with other guests. Tickets for the electric car can be purchased near the Rafflesia Monument for IDR 35,000 per person. The tour lasts about 25 minutes and is very enjoyable. The driver also acts as a guide, explaining the unique plants, trees, and historical spots throughout the gardens. This makes the experience both relaxing and educational, especially for first-time visitors. Inside the gardens, you can find the Rafflesia Monument, the Zoology Museum (with a separate entrance ticket), and many unique trees and plants collected from different regions across Indonesia. Overall, Bogor Botanical Gardens is a beautiful, well-maintained place and highly recommended for families, students, and anyone who wants to learn more about Indonesia’s rich natural heritage while enjoying a peaceful walk or ride.

A massive and lush green space located right in the heart of the city. Access is easy and the ticket price is relatively cheap. It is very spacious, so renting a vehicle is a good idea. Choices range from bicycles to buggies (or bring your own bike for an extra fee). A notable aspect to keep in mind: rental services and entrance gates will close during heavy rain for safety, so check the weather before you go.

A must visit place when in Bogor, especially if you're a plant lover. The scenery is sooo beautiful. They can preserved almost 160 years old trees, and lots of plants. From orchids, carnivor plants, large plants, and many more. You can just walk, but be prepared, because it's very large area. Unfortunately the Rafflesia Arnoldi and Amorphophallus was not blooming when we came. And yes, don't forget to visit the zoology museum. I'm soo happy 🥰

Yesterday I visited this place. It was pretty crowded during the day and started to get quieter toward the afternoon. The ticket counter closes at 4 pm, but you can still enjoy the area until 5 pm. Just make sure you leave through the main gate before 5 pm. As expected, the air was fresh and cool, especially since it’s the rainy season. There was a light drizzle, which made the vibe even more peaceful especially while sitting near the river. Bring your own food? Totally fine. Bring a full camera setup? Probably not allowed. Not recommended to rent a regular bike to go around... it’s really tiring. Better to use a scooter or an electric bike instead.

Wonderfull botanic garden! This place is an absolute gem if you are looking for a relaxing day in nature. From the moment we entered, we felt like we had left the city far behind. The atmosphere is peaceful, quiet, and perfect for slowing down and reconnecting with nature. Walking through the paths surrounded by greenery was our favorite part, but there are also other options available. For those who prefer less walking, it is possible to rent bikes or hop on a shuttle bus, which makes the area accessible for everyone. Along the way you can stop at small stalls to buy drinks or snacks, which is convenient if you want to take a break. The facilities are simple but sufficient, and everything felt well maintained. We especially appreciated the entrance fee: it’s affordable and, unlike many other attractions, not more expensive for foreigners. That alone makes it feel more welcoming and fair. What stood out most was the sense of tranquility. Even though it is not far from the city, it feels like a different world. If you enjoy walking, cycling, or just spending some quiet hours in a natural setting, this place is highly recommended.

I came here on December 26th at 9 am and even until 11 pm, the atmosphere was lively, not very crowded, but I could still enjoy a peaceful picnic.

One of my favorite places in Bogor! The Botanical Garden is not just beautiful, but also full of history and fresh air. It’s the kind of place you can visit again and again and still find something new to enjoy. Some tips if you plan to go: • Buy your ticket in advance—either from their website or Traveloka. It's faster and easier, especially on weekends. • Check their Instagram before your visit. Sometimes there are cool events like pop-up markets or live music near the Ecodome. • Getting around is flexible—you can walk, rent a bicycle, e-bike, or even a golf cart. But honestly, walking is the best way to explore all the corners and hidden gems. Spots you shouldn’t miss: - The view of the Presidential Palace (great for photos) - The Orchid House -The Mexican Garden, Aquatic plants, and more! For food, there aren’t many options inside. Raasaa restaurant near the parking area is the best one if you're looking for a proper meal. The cafes near the gift shop are okay for light snacks or drinks. Parking is Rp 50k per car for the whole day. You can bring your own bike too, but there's an extra charge. They open at 8 AM on weekdays and 7 AM on weekends, but members with a special card can enter even earlier (you can ask about this via WhatsApp from their website or Instagram). Best time to go? Definitely in the morning! The air is cool and it’s less crowded. Weekends and holidays can get super packed, so come early if you can. Whether you're with family, friends, or just hanging out solo, this place is really worth it. Peaceful, green, and just beautiful. Highly recommend!
