"Bohème Wines' owner and winemaker, Kurt Beitler likes to host private tasting tours. Guests start out with a driving tour into the hills west of Occidental to see Bohème's vineyards, with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The tasting happens around a picnic table in the shade of California redwoods, overlooking the vineyard." - Jonathan Cristaldi

We stayed in Occidental and decided to go for a wine tasting at Boheme after reading all their great reviews. The owner was super nice and friendly. All the wine was great, especially the Chardonnay and the Taylor Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir. Really recommend this place if you visit Occidental or nearby area.

Google
We love the Boheme wines. The Pinot Noir’s are all so delicious, all of them are subtly different yet excellent. Such a friendly wine tasting place (btw, it’s free too). We’ve been twice now where Allan is our tasting guide. He’s soooo friendly and just an absolute beautiful soul. While the tasting is free, you’ll walk out with full arms. The wine is just that good.

Love the Rose and the Chardonnay. Leslie is so nice. Such a wonderful host and ambassador to this wine region. Highly recommend !

My husband and I had a great tasting experience here. Melissa was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and made us feel right at home. The wines were delicious and it was very nice sitting outside to enjoy a glass while looking at the great views. We hope to be back again.

We tasted at wineries all over the Russian River Valley, and our tasting at Boheme was one of the best, and also not pretentious. Kurt, the winemaker, gave us a fantastic walk-through of the wines, and immediately gave us a welcoming feeling as we came in without an appointment (which you don't need here). The Pinots were spectacular, especially the Stuller vineyard, but really they were all good in their own right (Taylor is more elegant, English Hill lovely as well). Kurt seems to take a lot of care and time with the vineyards themselves, doing essentially organic farming so that it's good for the environment AND good for the depth of the wines themselves. All the vineyards are local to Occidental, which is another plus. And the tasting room with its natural wood tables and neighborhood feel is great. We stopped in another day to just have a glass.

Google
What can one say? Glorious single vineyard Pinot Noir. They source amazing fruit, and create brilliant wine. Stopped by the tasting room some time ago. Very gracious people. Highly recommended.

Google
Great Pinot Nior, Chardonnay, and a Syrah that were worth the visit. The wines here were better than quite a few larger places we visited in our 5 winery tour of Sanoma. Allen was an awesome host, thanks for having us!!

Google
Delicious wine! Kurt and his team are super friendly and pour wine they’re deservedly proud of in their unassuming tasting room. Stop in and visit - it’s well worth it for world class wine made by locals.

Yelp
Ambiance is quite mellow, relaxing, and the chairs are comfortable. Very welcoming feeling.

Yelp
Tucked inside a shopping center in occidental, you wouldn't want to pass this place up. S E R V I C E: Tastings are complimentary, and there's no need for reservations! Alan was our guide through the tasting, and with words of wisdom, we learned a lot about the wine in the area and about Boheme. He was very sweet and kind. W I N E: My favorites of the tasting were the Chardonnay and their Pinot. The Chardonnay had a subtle sweetness to it and the Pinot was smooth with hints of cherry. O V E R A L L: We ended up buying a bottle of the Pinot, and are excited to add it to our collection. It's fun getting to know about local wineries, and I'm glad we stumbled upon Boheme and experienced their wonderful wines and service.

Yelp
A lovely afternoon tasting with Leslie. She was knokwledgeable and friendly, and welcomed our shy pup. The wines are excellent, we especially enjoyed the West Pole Blend, and the accompanying story. This place is now on our "must drink" list!

Yelp
My wife and I were on a quest to find fall colors. She found an article that suggested the bohemian highway as a scenic drive so we headed north find such colors on the way. It was a great suggestion. We found the rainbow of fall. But also, it let us to Boheme wines. The winery is rather unassuming tucked away into a mini strip of small shops next to a small grocery store. Don't let that stop you. The wine here is very good. We stopped in for a tasting with Alan. He shared six wines with us. A Chardonnay that was complex and mineral rich. A rosé that was light and also mineral rich, both pleasantly surprising. But the best wines were the Pinots. Four tastings total. Three different vineyards over a few different years. Alan aqarranged them in complexity from lightest to most complex. As is tradition. ;) The fourth bottle being a blend of the first three with a totally different resulting product than the it's components. They farm all their own grapes on their own land. Alan was friendly, inviting, informative, and just a hell of a guy. We were lucky to find Boheme. I highly recommend if you're in the area check it out. And if you're not in the area, seek it out. Getting there is a good portion of the fun. The wine from Boheme fills any gaps.

Yelp
Beautiful local winery in Occidental. Kurt the wine maker is super friendly, engaging, knowledgeable about wine. Comes from a family of wine. Uncle is the head winemaker at Caymus. Complimentary tastings in their tasting room. 6 wines part of the tasting, however they are super friendly, welcoming and will open other bottles as well to taste. Primarily Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, mainly single vineyard Pinots from the local area. Favorites: Occidental Hills Pinot Noir - dark berry on the nose and tongue. Medium, bold pinot. Taylor Ridge Chardonnay - beautiful golden colored chardonnay. Ripe fruits, nice balance, coats and hugs your tongue with a beautiful flavor.

Yelp
Taking a reprieve from the rain we ran into Boheme Wines and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of wines and knowledge from Alan, we enjoyed the 2019 Taylor Ridge Pinot. Highly recommend this quiet establishment to anyone looking for delicious wine in a quiet town.

Yelp
Dog-friendly, down to earth staff, relaxing chill atmosphere. This is the only tasting room for Boheme wines, vineyards are local. When you are in the area, don't hesitate to drop by for a sample or 6 and a great conversation. We tried a rose, two chardonnays, and some pinot noirs. Of the Chardonnays, I appreciated the Taylor Ridge Chardonnay which is grown closer to the coast. This Chardonnay was well rounded, a tiny bit of minerality, oaky, but crisp and smooth. It's a Chardonnay I feel like everyone at the table or party would enjoy. As for the pinots, they were all enjoyable, and I didn't particularly have a favorite. We were lucky to have ran into Kurt the winemaker, and he answered all our questions regarding the differences between the wines. His comments on the various wines helped us decide on which wines to purchase. We left with 3 bottles! Would definitely return when in the area. Wine drinkers or not, come on by and you'll be sure to enjoy your visit whether through wine or the experience.

Yelp
I wish I could write a review for the entire town of Occidental but that's just not possible :( so I'll stick with Boheme. My family and I were enjoying a lazy, peaceful trip back home to Oakland and wanted to take many stops along the way to bask in the glory of this sweet little town. In our rambling travels, we stopped into Boheme Wines and boy were we impressed!! The shop was beautifully designed and felt very comfy, the labels on the bottles were gorgeous with California poppies on them, and the lovely woman working offered us a tasting so we had the chance to try some of their great wines! The rosé was the universal favorite among me and my family. It was the most wonderful experience and we are excited to come back on our next trip up to Occidental!

Yelp
Excellent wine, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A unique tasting experience! Mid-range prices for bottles.

Yelp
Kurt, winemaker/owner, is an amazing host. You should stop by the Boheme wines tasting room when you are in Occidental to taste his delicious Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Syrah wines that are grown in nearby vineyards. My favorite wine of the day was the Stuller Vineyard Pinot Noir but I found all of the Pinots I tasted from Boheme to be delicious. I also really liked the English Vineyard Chardonnay. These are the wines to take to a dinner party or to a restaurant that will open a bottle of wine for a corkage fee. Anyone can pick up a bottle of Belle Glos from BevMo but I like to bring delicious and interesting wines to dinner parties that start a conversation about the winemaker and the experience I had when discovering the wine. As a tip, if you are traveling to Sonoma from out of state, every restaurant in wine country will open a bottle of wine for a small corkage fee. In addition to making delicious wines, Kurt is a great guy with an engaging personality. He is happy to tell you about his wines, where the grapes were grown and how he approaches the wine making process.

Yelp
Great wines at this price point. Kurt and Balm are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. If you are looking for a really good West Sonoma Coast winery, look no further. Unassuming ambience a home run.

Megan R.

Yelp
We had an amazing time at Boheme Wines. In a twist of fate, my husband and I stumbled across this tasting room and were absolutely thrilled to find such a hidden gem. The staff was friendly and informative and the atmosphere was perfect. We absolutely recommend this place both for the amazing wines, but also for the fantastic atmosphere!

Dean M.

Yelp
What's not to love about Boheme wines? Consistently superb product regardless of whether you're into Chardonnay or Pinot Noir, from Kurt and his team. All Boheme wines shine at their price point, but also show the skill of a top producer who is among the top of the class in Sonoma County wine. The Pinots are super consistent, but the Chardonnay is always distinctive. Not to be missed in Occidental.

Kenny R.

Yelp
Some of the best wine in the region. Joe is warm, filled with helpful knowledge and generous.

Benjamin S.

Yelp
Best pinot noir I have had in Sonoma, and I have been tasting in this area for years. It's easy to miss this little shop but well worth a visit. It also helps that they are always friendly and you don't have to be a wine expert to feel welcome.

Vern L.

Yelp
Celebrated our 53rd anniversary opening a bottle of 2017 Pinot Noir; absolutely fantastic!!! It was our first taste of this vintage, and I know if this varietal is this good, the rest of the offerings must be perfecto!!! Vern Loy

Cheslea B.

Yelp
Amazing wines, tasting with the actual winemaker! My favorite is the English Hill Pinot Noir :)

Lynne H.

Yelp
Really wonderful pinot noirs, free tastings, about $45 a bottle. So happy we stopped here!

Chad R.

Yelp
Great sonoma coast wines!

Don B.

Yelp
Kurt opened up tasting room for me on a day when it was closed and his associate Allen provided a private tasting. Besides great wine Allen gave me the history of the winery and provided many insights to growing their pinot noir grapes in their 3 estate vineyards. Allen was the best ...a very interesting man with a great background. Visiting Boheme was the highlight of my trip. Thanks again to Kurt for opening up the tasting room and I will spread the word about your fine wine.

Yelp
Remarkable wines. Boutique winery. The vintner is doing some unique nuances with traditional vintages. Loved the Chardonnay / not Chardonnay. Reds were tasty and we bought a half of a case to go with spectacular steaks. The soil composition of their vineyards explain why the great quality of wine. Worth the stop. Worth the tasting!

George F.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Free tastings are so rare, as well as consistently good wines are. Pinots are right on the button, chardonnay was nice, zin was not overwhelming. So everything was right. Don't miss this one.

Dino K.

Yelp
If you want a Great bottle of wine there Chardonnay is my favorite. For Red I enjoyed the Pinot is wonderful. I will be back.

Yelp
Perfectly balanced Chard, worth the money, avail by the glass at Bistro des Copains, and Barley and Hops Tavern.
