I stayed at Bohinj Eco Hotel during my trip to Slovenia, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.||When I arrived, the first impression of my room was not very positive. There was a dirty stain on the floor, and to make matters worse, the air conditioning did not work at all. This made the room feel uncomfortable, especially after a long day of exploring. The Wi-Fi was another big issue – it was extremely unreliable and most of the time simply didn’t work, which was very frustrating as a solo traveler who relies on internet access for planning and staying connected.||The biggest letdown, however, was the food. Both breakfast and dinner were far below expectations. The quality and variety were poor, and I quickly regretted booking half board. Thankfully, I discovered Hotel Tripič, just across the street, which turned out to be an excellent alternative with delicious meals and great service. I ended up eating there instead and can highly recommend it.||The spa, swimming pool, and wellness facilities were fine – nothing extraordinary, but a decent place to relax. Somehow the Wellness contained camera's? Whilst bathing clothes are Forbidden inside the sauna's. Staff throughout the hotel were polite, but overall this did not make up for the many shortcomings.||In the end, the negatives outweighed the positives for me. The poor room conditions, lack of working air conditioning, unreliable Wi-Fi, and disappointing food made my stay far from what I had hoped for. I truly regret choosing the half board option here, and I would not stay again under the same conditions.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bohinj Eco Hotel. The view from our room was beautiful and the room was a good size for a family of 4, with a double bed on the ground floor and 2 single beds up some very steep steps on a mezzanine. A church was nearby with a loud bell at around 7am each morning to help us start our day. The hotel was well located to catch the local buses to Lake Bohinj (10 minute bus journey) or Lake Bled (25 minute bus journey) as well as being close to facilities like a pharmacy/doctor, grocery shops, petrol station and cycle hire. Our 10 and 12 year old loved the aquapark, particularly when it rained, and the bowling alley was also great for an extra charge. The buffet was OK for vegetarians but had very little for vegans for either breakfast or evening. However, there was plant milk to have with tea/coffee and when I asked, the kitchen made me up a vegan breakfast and evening meal each day - photos attached to the review. The meals were a little similar day to day but were filling (I had to ask for smaller portions!) and tasted good. The staff were really lovely and helpful, both on reception and in the restaurant. We recommend getting the Julian Alps card with your room - we made good use of it.

Bohinj ECO Hotel has been a staple of our family’s summer holidays for over a decade.|Every year, we are once again enchanted by the perfect combination of comfort, great food, and direct access to one of the most beautiful natural settings in Slovenia.|The cycling and hiking routes in the area are suitable for all ages – from the youngest (this time with our 5-, 11-, and 14-year-olds) to more experienced hikers and cyclists. The views of Lake Bohinj and the surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking.|Swimming in the lake is a refreshing experience, and in case of bad weather, the water park at the hotel offers endless fun for the kids, with water slides, a climbing wall, "mystery caves", while parents can relax in the saunas or the salt room. The hotel also features a bowling alley.|We left with heavy hearts – but we’re already looking forward to coming back!

This is an odd hotel. First the pros: hotel is well appointed and room was large and comfortable. Staff were friendly and it’s well located for drive to Bohinj / bus (somewhat infrequent). kids loved the pool (a bit run down but lots of fun). Breakfast wasn’t amazing but good and no one went hungry. We ate out in the evening.||Odd things - we had an executive suite which backed onto the pool / train tracks / sawmill and so the lack of control over the aircon, had we needed the windows open, would have been tough. The weather was cool enough we just refreshed the room during the day and put up with the noise.||The living room area had one corner windows with no curtains. So the room lit up early in the morning. Even the door to the bedroom was transparent so woke us as well - just seems bizarre design.||You have to request cleaning which suited us fine. Lack of kettle in the room was a bit annoying.||To say all this we probably would return as the swimming access suited our family well. The eco credentials stand up.

Lovely hotel between the mountains, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Clean, cozy rooms with beautiful views, and a peaceful atmosphere after a day at Lake Bohinj or hiking. The staff are kind, and breakfast is fresh and local. A perfect spot if you want to slow down and breathe in the mountains.

Very good location, spacious rooms, diversified and tasty breakfast and dinner, fun for kids—- aqua park, bowling, ping pong… Easy drives to Lake Bohinj, Bled and Vintgar. We were a three generation family party of 11 and were assigned a reserved table in the dining room. We requested, and received, special portions of side plates for the kids every evening. |Not the most modern hotel, but clean and well kept - so that was not a significant parameter for us. Service is good, often rendered with a smile, sometimes a bit formally- correct. |But why charge for any and all drinks at dinner and for an 11:30 AM checkout?

Hotel rooms did not look the same as they do on the website. In general the hotel is much older than it looks on the photos, which can be seen on the furniture a interior of the hotel. However everything was clean. Our room was cleaned up whenever we asked for it, and the whole staff of the hotel was really nice. What I don’t understand is that I paid for breakfast and dinner, but there was no free drinks at the dinner (not even water). But otherwise, everything was perfect.

Although I understand that the time of travel was in peak season, I did not feel this property was worth the cost. The room's temperature control did not seem to work properly and therefore the room was stifling hot of a night. Opening the door to outside was not really an option as it was so loud from the Aqua Centre. |The wi-fi was completely useless regardless of where in the hotel you were.|The buffet dinner and breakfast however were good value and would suit most people. We were staying to visit Lake Bled - not for the aqua park, which was a quick trip on the public bus. Perhaps had we been staying for the aqua park it might have been more worthwhile.
