Boho Tamarindo is not just a boutique hotel—it's a feeling. From the moment we arrived, owners Laura and Clay, along with their amazing staff, made us feel like family. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire stay. If there was anything they could do to make us more comfortable, they didn’t just do it—they anticipated it.|The location is ideal—just steps (barely 100 yards) from the beach and an easy walk to everything in town. Despite being so central, the vibe at Boho remains serene, relaxed, and intimate. Each morning, we were treated to thoughtfully crafted breakfast options that were as delicious as they were beautifully presented—an elegant start to each day.|There have been some comments online about nearby construction noise. Speaking as someone from New York City, the noise was minimal and barely noticeable. That said, Laura and Clay go above and beyond to address any concerns—offering white noise machines, earplugs, and total transparency. Their proactive approach is just one more example of how much they care.|One moment that perfectly summed up the spirit of Boho: upon our arrival, we saw Laura hand-scrubbing the outdoor flower pots. That level of pride and leadership is rare in any industry, but to find it here—at a small boutique hotel in Costa Rica—is extraordinary. Their example clearly inspires the entire team, who treat every guest interaction with sincerity and joy.|The property also felt incredibly secure, with overnight security, cameras throughout, and personal safes in each room. More importantly, we felt relaxed, welcomed, and valued. That kind of comfort is something you can’t manufacture; it’s cultivated through culture and care.|Boho is the only place I’d stay in Tamarindo. I can’t wait to return—again and again—not just to enjoy the space, but to reconnect with Laura and Clay.||Giving it 5 stars doesn’t feel like enough!!

What a great find! I have been to Tamarindo numerous times but it has always been with my family so we have needed a house to stay in. A week ago, I visited Tamarindo by myself. I looked online for a hotel and stumbled upon BoHo Tamarindo. I was initially just attracted to the awesome location, but after checking in, the benefits of staying here proved to be much more than just location. To put it simply, the staff, the amenities and the quaint size of the hotel made me feel right at home. The complimentary, made to order breakfast, was exceptional. The four staff members were accommodating and super attentive. The proximity of the hotel to downtown Tamarindo and the beach is hard to beat. You are probably sick of reading this so I am going to end by stating that if you are in need of a hotel room in Tamarindo, look no further. BoHo Tamarindo is awesome!

From the moment we arrived at Boho Hotel in Tamarindo, we weren’t treated like guests — we were treated like family. The staff went above and beyond in every single way, and special thanks go to Edward and Juan for making our stay unforgettable.||Edward personally went out of his way (literally using his own money!) to surprise my boyfriend with champagne for mimosas on his birthday. Juan helped me plan his travel itinerary and choose tours that blew us away — and that’s saying a lot, because I lived in Costa Rica for 3 months and still discovered things I’d never experienced before!||The highlight was Edward’s personalized local tours, always giving us the best tips to make the most of our evenings. The whole team even woke up — not once, but twice — at 2 AM to send us off with a delicious, healthy breakfast and freshly brewed coffee, free of charge.||The hotel itself is a gem:| • Walking distance to Tamarindo and Langosta Beach| • The only free tuk-tuk in the area (perfect for local exploring!)| • Private full gym & yoga area| • Private beach access| • Pool, towels, surfboards, boogie boards — they’ve thought of EVERYTHING!||Even with some construction nearby, the rooms are so well insulated that my boyfriend (a very light sleeper) slept like a baby. They even provide blackout curtains and earplugs just in case.||Tip: If you want to see wild monkeys nearby, ask Edward for his magical private tuk-tuk tour — you won’t regret it!||We travel a lot, all over the world (including many places in Costa Rica), and nowhere have we experienced this kind of genuine, heartfelt hospitality. Thank you, Edward, Juan, and the entire Boho team. You’ve set the bar for service, and we can’t wait to come back!

In the year 2025, two newlyweds set sail from distant shores on their first great voyage beyond their homeland. This haven became our sanctuary a place where time stood still, love deepened, and every meal tasted like a celebration. We fished like warriors, caught a mighty marlin (yes, really), and feasted like kings on food so good it deserves its own passport. This trip was more than a honeymoon it was the beginning of an epic story. Endless thanks to the legendary trio Edward, Juan, and Gilbert whose kindness, care, and magic behind the scenes made this place feel like home (if home had better views and better snacks). We also had the opportunity to spend time with the ever loving Gray! She went on many road trips with us in the Tuck-Tuck! Can’t wait to see her again! To those who follow in our footsteps: explore boldly, love fiercely, and never underestimate the joy of good coffee with a great view. This place has magic. Treat it like the treasure it is. – The Honeymooners, 2025 ⚔️💍🐟 P. S. We just booked our next stay already at BOHO for our One Year anniversary in February 2026! Can’t wait to see everyone again!

I am a solo female traveler. This boutique hotel offers a delicious breakfast they are doing construction and they do offer on the spot cancellation so I only booked for 1 night to see how it would be. The noise did not bother me at all because at night It was quiet. The beds were so comfortable I was able to sleep 9 hours something that was unbearable to me as I usually have problems sleeping. The hotel is a hidden gem so I decided to extend my stay for 3 nights more right away thank God because it was sold out after I extended my stay. Jose and Edward I can’t speak enough on them they were so attentive to every need. I felt so protected almost like family. By staying in this hotel you get access to to the famous beach access Langosta Beach Club that is 1 block away. I did look at all the reviews and was kind of skeptical because they were just too good to be true but I’m here to tell you that all the reviews are authentic and real. I will be back before the year ends. Best Service, Best Hotel and best location. Lots of things to do and lots of restaurants just steps away.

A truly special place! The hotel is full of charm and attention to detail, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. On our first day, Juan even pointed out a family of monkeys in the trees right next to the terrace – magical! Breakfast was a real treat: delicious, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully adapted to dietary needs. As someone who eats gluten-free, I was thrilled to be able to enjoy anything on the menu without worry – such a rare luxury! The Raw Botanicals products in the room were another lovely highlight. High-quality and organic – I loved them so much I’ll be buying some to take home (there’s a shop in San José). We were also delighted to find beautifully wrapped soap placed on our bed as a welcome gift – such a thoughtful and charming touch! There is currently some construction happening next to the hotel, but it didn’t disturb us at all. We really appreciated that the hotel proactively informed us in advance. During the day, we were usually out on excursions or enjoying the nearby beach, so the occasional noise wasn’t an issue – and at night, it was completely quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment, didn’t miss a thing, and would absolutely come back. This hotel is a real gem – warm thanks to the entire team!

We loved this little hotel. The room was comfortable, and had just enough space for us. The staff was amazing and the morning breakfasts were as light or as hearty as you choose, but always tasty. It was convenient to the beach (including beach club access) and the center of town, with a supermarket, several great restaurants, and the food truck park within a short stroll. ||Unfortunately the hotel is literally surrounded by construction that will seemingly take a long time to finish and they worked six full days a week and a few early hours on the Sunday we were there, starting at 6am. The Boho team communicates this at several points and thoughtfully put earplugs and two sound machines in our room, so I’m NOT complaining—we were wanting to be up and about reasonably early anyway. But I feel it’s worth mentioning because if you are a light sleeper and/or late riser, this could be a problem for you. ||(I’d also note that we didn’t realize there were beach chairs and umbrellas available to use—perhaps we were told and just missed it. We did use the beach club to which the hotel provides access but had we clued into the beach chairs we might’ve skipped that on at least some days and gone down the beach just a bit to a slightly less trafficked area. But, the beach club does have a pool, bathrooms, and a restaurant/bar, so there’s that.)||I hope this little gem of a hotel is able to weather the challenges of all that construction (and being surrounded by condos when it’s finished) because it’s a truly great place with a wonderful team who put guests first, with a smile, all the time. We would happily stay there again, anytime!!

A beautiful and lovely property! Lots of construction right around the hotel, but the staff was very upfront and accommodating. It didn’t create any major disruption to our stay. It’s in a very walkable location, which is also pleasantly secluded from the craziness of downtown Tamarindo. We also really appreciated that the property provided beach, chairs, umbrellas, extra towels, etc., so that we could drive to a bunch of beaches up and down the coast and not have to worry. Highly recommend Boho!
