Boil Daddy - Garden Grove

Boil Daddy really hits the spot! Their sauce is the perfect balance of sweetness and Cajun spice and it is so flavorful. I usually go for ½ shrimp and ½ mussels and it is always enough to fill me up. If you want to eat the sauce eat it with rice. Even if you do riddles, they give you free lemonade that they make fresh and you can choose from whatever flavors they have available. Definitely a spot I would come back to again.

First time visiting. Went on a Friday night around 10pm. The food was very yummy and good customer service. We wanted to order more but the service was too slow. The instant ramen, head off shrimp, butter noodles and clams were very delicious! I highly recommend!

My family and I went to celebrate my sisters birthday. I wasn't sure if it was going to be good since we usually go for other shrimp boil spots. But we needed a restaurant that was open late since we were going after an Angels game. The food was delicious, I have ate at several shrimp boil places and this one was probably the best, they bring your food in presentable plate no plastic bag. The shrimp cooked right, the sides are great. The servers were so nice and attentive. Will be coming back again for sure and also the lemonade is so good. It tastes similar to Hot Dog on a Stick lemonade. I had to post this review and give them a 10/10!!

Amazing food as you can tell from the picture and video! Sweet teas are excellent and they have fresh squeezed lemonade! Totally worth checking out, you won't regret it. The actual restaurant is real clean and the server was super kind.

Had the most incredible experience here a few weeks ago and can't stop thinking about it. The boil was the best I've ever had -- so fresh and flavorful. The service is what really stood out though. Everyone was so incredibly helpful and kind. The atmosphere was just so positive and fun. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I stopped for dinner after driving by it in the morning on our way to the aquarium. I am so glad we did bc the food is delicious! The owner is super nice and will answer any questions you have about the menu. We got their fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade and a peach iced tea along with the bag of peeled shrimp and the Cajun instant noodles. This is the only place that has already peeled shrimp! (I know, I’m lazy and sometimes want the seafood boil without the hard work/mess lol) I thought I misread the menu and it was just the headless shrimp when I saw it listed and still took some bibs and gloves back to eat with. We took the food to go since we had a long day but if we are ever in the area we would definitely go back! While we were waiting on our food, she gave us our drinks and even refilled my sweet tea before we left.

Food was great service was fast can't complain they have a riddle that you can play and get a free drink it's fun sorry for the pictures I eat the the first order didn't took picture just the second one 😜 to good to take the first picture 😀

This is the Second time that I go to this placed and OMG! AMAZING !!! DELICIOSO! If you're a garlic lover , this dish will be like heaven to you! The potatoes , the sausage , the shrimp, DELICIOUS! straight out, it's a 9.4/10! Highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys these type of foods. Also, the place is very clean and presentable and service has been amazing.

Finally got to try Boil Daddy! I have always frequented places like Boiling Crab and Kickin Crab, so wanted to see how they compared! The crawfish isn't in season so we went with shrimp (head on), clams, mussels, and some fries with their daddy sauce (mild, medium, hot-we went with hot for one and medium for another) I liked that they have the options for 1/2 a pound! Great if you want to order multiple things and for trying different seafoods without having to commit to a whole pound. The shrimp, clams, and mussels were all good! Didn't taste frozen or rubbery, was very fresh! The medium sauce is perfect! Great blend of garlic flavor and spice, however we did enjoy the spicy (It is pretty spicy!) mixing medium and spicy together was good too! I also really enjoyed their Cajun dusted fries! They give a generous portion as well! Overall really enjoyed the place!

We walked in around 7:30 ish and placed an order for the following items: 1. Shrimp Po Boy Sanwhich = 10/10 2. Daddy SHrimp Bowl = 7/10 3. Crab Ragoons =6/10 4. Arnold Palmer = 10/10 5. Strawberry Lemonade = 10/10 6. Garlic Fries = 10000/10 Let me start with the Cons... 1. I was a bit disappointed that we ordered in a timely manner and our food came out almost an hour later. We waited about 45 minutes for the food I just listed above. There was a family sitting and two other guest, so it wasn't too busy to my thought! However, never the less, I wont ding a star for it as the food spoke volumes. 2. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich and came out with a fish one instead. Not a big deal, as we can manage it and it was still so tasty. We just wanted to really try the shrimp one instead. 3. I ordered the Daddy Shrimp Bowl to be super super mild, just a tiny bit spicy. I took it home and it was overly spicy!! I had a few bites, and it was delicious, but due to it being so spicy, I couldn't take it LOL... (the wife, not me LOL) Now the PROS 1. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNMATCHED!! The young lady at the counter must of apologized profusely to us about our order and the delay. She was very sweet and extremely welcoming when we walked in. Had she been any other way, I think we would of asked for a refund!!! 2. The FOOD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF... Everything we tried was amazing, lets not take away the order was wrong LOL... But we still enjoyed every bite!! 3. Now lets talk about their lemonades! TRY EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! The two we got, we tried to hard not to gulp it down! They were both super refreshing and you could tell it was homemade and not the typical stuff you get at any store! 4. The inside is well kept and clean! I like how they have a riddle if you want to solve to get a free lemonade, that's super dope!! 5. Its not expensive for the items they give you! Everything was pretty reasonable for living in California! My receipt is attached for all your needs in case you need a breakdown of cost! Next time, I think we will eat inside!! Absolutely loved my visit to boil daddy. The shrimp was huge and perfectly cooked with delicious boil daddy medium sauce -- you can really taste the quality in every bite. From the buttery lobster to the yummines of the mussels, everything was spot on. The service was just as impressive -- warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Make sure to get their Arnold Palmer, the gentleman made it fresh for you and it was perfect! If you're a seafood lover, this place is a must-try. I'll definitely be back!

BOIL DADDY OVER EVERY OTHER CAJUN SEAFOOD SPOT ON MY MOMMMMAAAAA!!!! Seriously, the quality of seafood never disappoints, I have yet to eat a single shrimp that was overcooked or mushy The daddy sauce is the best. It's so flavorful and delicious, not too oily or buttery to where it makes u feel gross afterwards. I usually get the medium spicy but the extra spicy is HOT FIYAH We ordered the Cajun fries, garlic noodles, 1/2 shrimp, clam & mussels + sausages & eggs. Fries were good, thick cut and lots of seasoning. Garlic noodles were FIIIIIIIRE. It has the perfect amount of garlic and it's not too overpowering, so it paired really well with the Cajun sauce Sausages and eggs were bomb, their sausages are so high quality My seafood was absolutely sexy. Literally every piece of shrimp, clam and mussel were PERFECTLY cooked. And the sauce my gooooooooodness.... absolutely amazing I seriously swear Boil Daddy is the BEST Cajun seafood spot. Literally the goat There's a good amount of tables inside so it's a great spot for date night and larger groups. Highly recommend a jacket tho bc it's cold af inside. Service was amazing like always! Second time here! Was not a fan of the calamari but the food was good! Only one star off since the bathroom was dirty- but considering there's only one worker- I get it. I love the ice in their drinks and how small it is. Food came out AMAZINGLY fast! Less than 10 minutes! I got a free drink due to answering a riddle on the chalkboard. Ambiance is so clean. Our server was Maricruz and she is so nice. Great service all around!

Our choice were the loaded fries, shrimp head on cajun sauce with corn and sausage, then daddy nods with regular butter sauce. Liked the food but I was cajun out from all the similar sauce. Suggest getting different ones. Parking is limited. Service is quick since the place is small. Keep on serving your excellent food and service

Revisited to dine in! Super super kind service, feels so much like home! The owner (I believe) is such a friendly soul. The food was GOOD and fresh! Got a half pound of shrimp, crawfish and the Loaded Bayou Fries. The fries are bomb! Get them. The seafood was fresh and juicy. Lemonade is fresh squeezed, super refreshing. Will be back to support! For no wait, you can get good service and good food. Skip your visit at Boiling/Kickin Crab to support a smaller shop, you won't regret it giving it a try.

Soft opening special 50% off ends on 12/1. Read the fine print it is a max of $25 off per adult. They ran out of crawfish when I visited but they said a new delivery would come tonight. Wish there was a sign that told us that ahead of time. I only tried their shrimp this time. Located in the same plaza as Popeyes. The parking lot is small. There are only 6 tables available when I went so I would say it's a small restaurant. They surprisingly didn't have Cajun fries. I paid the extra to upgrade to daddy fries but it was pretty much their sauce on top of the fries, which made my fries soggy after a while. The daddy wings is pretty much the same thing, fried wings with the Cajun sauce on top. Of course it's soft opening so they were working out some kinks. Would've loved it more if they had crawfish available.

The seafood was fresh, garlic butter handmade, portions to price reasonable, and everything was high quality. The lemonade had a ton of flavors and its real lemons and cane sugar, honestly would come back just for the lemonade. Riddle on the wall, if you solve it you get a free lemonade. Open late, not super busy. Definitely coming back.

Came because it was 4.5 stars. They were severely understaffed (one poor waitress by herself on her 4th day working there - she was very kind though) and one chef in the kitchen.. The appetizers were good (we got the krabby patties and calamari) but an hour later we still haven't received our seafood boil. I was starting to see the exasperation on the other customers' faces too and we decided to cancel our order. They ended up finishing our order around the hour 20 mark just as we were leaving so we were given the bag free of charge to take home as the restaurant was closing in another hour anyways. I courageously decided to try some when I got home and well... the pictures say enough. Never had this issue with other seafood boil places like Kickin Krab. Had a couple mussels whole before I realized I was just eating mussel poop. Shrimp was overcooked and the sauce was chunky. Definitely won't be going back again.

This was a very good choice to make for food. After putting this place off for a long time I finally made the decision to try it. On entry and I noticed the place smelled great was really clean. Had a good vibe and I was greeted when I walked in the door. The cashier was really friendly that cook came out and spoke to me when receiving my food it was well packaged. Everything was there that I asked for he gave me extra condiments and was really friendly and kind. On my way out. The food was good. I enjoyed it my family enjoyed it and we will be back again and the price was really good. Not what I expected. The price was really reasonable.

DELICIOUS seafood boil!!! I love that you don't have to get your hands dirty - I got a pound of shrimp with medium spicy daddy sauce and potato/corn. Also got a side of garlic noodles which was the cherry on top. Quality of the shrimp was great and I'd definitely come back to try their crab / other dishes. Service was amazing!! There's limited seating inside so def reserve ahead of time or come when it's less busy

Got the 1/2 lb crawfish and shrimp. The taste was really good! However, is that really all we get for half a pound?? I remember boiling crab, I got a lot more shrimp & crawfish for half a pound.... I literally had only 6 shrimps and 7 crawfish. So most definitely left not full. Also got the fried shrimp basket. Was decent but could be fried a little more. Ended up taking it home to air fry it.

Checked this place out for the first time because all the other locations had like 2 hours, but was thoroughly shocked at how quick we got seated & the quality of their food + their quick service! The place is small and family friendly, and the food comes out really quickly!! Great food & spices!!

I went here for my first time with my best friend! The portions and food were delicious!! We got mild for the spice level but it was still super tasty and strong. The service was great even when there was only 1 girl working that day. Ambience is a bit light in there as there's not a ton of seating or decor but it is spacious and comfortable

Wish I had pictures to prove how amazing the Daddy's Noods were. We were so hungry we ate before I thought about taking a picture. Great portions and reminded us of the North Shore Shrimp Truck on Oahu. Everyone at the hotel we were staying at commented on how amazing they smelled on the elevator ride up to our room. Highly recommend and don't forget the cheesecake. Definitely will order again.

Good order with them for the past few weeks and the flavor and everything comes out so amazing every time! Also, when you go in person, they treat you very well like family! I called and had a problem they fixed it immediately!

First time trying this place. Went in to order to go and waited for 40mins to get my order. Order 1/2lb shrimp, 1/2 crawfish(not that great), 1lb of mussels in there daddy sauce(it was ok), with an order of potatoes, and corn.

This was a really chill spot to have a simple seafood boil situation. We ordered the wontons to start and the Deck Cadet's Catch with lemonade and Arnold Palmer. We chose the daddy's sauce medium spicy. This was more than enough for two people! We basically took a full box of shrimp home because we were stuffed. The flavors were delicious too. Will probably try the entrees next time because they sound amazing.

My friends and I decided to try boil daddy because we were craving some seafood boil and it was the best decision!!! We got their daddy fries, shrimp, crawfish and mango lemonade! 10000/10 the sauce was so delicious and customer service was great! Definitely will be coming back! If you love spice, try daddy sauce omg extra spicy!!

Seems like it's their way to offset any negative reviews they get by flooding it with random 5 star ones lol. It doesn't make it feel like it's a genuine business earning high ratings when 5 star reviews are encouraged and incentivized. Overall, this place is too expensive to be tasting this mid. You can go to Boiling Crab and get your money's worth. Buyer beware.

On a scale of buss it was mid. We got shrimp and crawfish, the shrimp was good but the crawfish was frozen instead of live (probably should've asked before hand) but it was not stated on the menu. Sauce was pretty good we got the daddy sauce. Workers were nice didn't have any issues and the inside is pretty small but can still fit bigger parties. Situated in the tiniest parking lot ever so it's very easy to get stuck or have no parking.

CJ was such an amazing server, kept checking on us through out the night. Mango sweet tea was so good never had anything like it. Very affordable and tasty seafood boil. If you're debating between mussels and clams, i'd definitely do the mussels instead.

Great place to get cajun seafood! The seafood tasted so fresh and delicious. The chicken wings are also amazing! We ordered the sweet chili, soy, and buffalo wings. They're all so flavorful, crunchy outside and juicy inside. We also ordered bayou fries and it was so gooood!! The portion was big and I thought we couldn't finish it but we ate it all. Lastly was the strawberry lemonade and it was yummy and refreshing, blending so well with the food. The service was outstanding, very welcoming and professional. This place is new and very clean. Loved it

Shrimp were more like prawns and highly flavorful! Seasoning was delicious. Garlic noodles were good! Soft opening so drinks were free! Ambiance was your typical sea food boiler spot, a bit on the small side but owners were very accommodating and friendly, as there were 17 of us on Saturday night. Would definitely go back!

Memorial Day weekend a Monday I visited opened at 11:00 first ones inside. Looked like only one server there at the time. Karla was very detailed in presenting the menu but if u gone to any boil spot you know how it goes. The place looked like maybe it had just opened so could have been a bit decorated more make it more appealing. Karla took my order in a timely manner and she takes note of who comes in and attends by when u walked in. Ordered garlic fries and garlic toast as appetizers. I love ketchup so no big bottles of ketchup only packets of it ): The shrimp were big looked like no po po in the shrimp lol The Boil daddy sauce was tasty but a little hot for me!!! lol Overall good first experience Karla was a SUPERB server and Hostess!!!

The wife really wanted to a seafood boil so found this family owned place and it did not disappoint. The service received was great and the food was fantastic! It was a great date night! We will definitely be back

Food was good, but my favorite was the fish po boy. I also like that you can order 1/2 lbs. Service was friendly. Ambiance is casual fast dining. I ordered the fish po boy, calamari, and shrimp/clams/crawfish. I do think submarine crab has the best sauce and clams around though.

We ordered takeout for my sons 9th bday. We saw the reviews and high hopes. We ordered the Boatswains catch combo it was buy 1 get 1 which should have been a sign that it wasn't going to be good. We added crab legs as well. We got the food and the bag was leaking in grease and butter. When we tried to eat the shrimp they were over cooked and mushy. There was no flavor at all we ordered the daddy sauce with mild spicy and it had no spice no kick nothing just a whole lot of garlic. The corn and potatoes were also mushy and overcooked. We honestly didn't even eat it and left all the food. Huge waste of 200 dollars. I honestly don't understand how they have such a high rating.

i came in here close to closing & i was a little hesitant on seafood this late but i was already intrigued. i ordered the crispy shrimp bowl. i only waited about 10 minutes and as soon as she handed me the bag, the SMELL made me in a RUSH to go home . anyways look how crispy those shrimps look?!!!! i may have hit the jackpot because LOOOK AT THIS PORTION!!!! compared to what boiling crab would have given me!???? i think i found my new seafood spot!!! the taste??!! amazing!!! thanks sooooooo much IM GONNA GO EAT!

Let me start off with saying this place is fantastic, as soon as I entered I was greeting with an amazing smell of sea food that reminded me of home. The staff was very friendly and on point with their service, but the best part was the food, perfectly cooked and priced affordable. If I had 2 stomachs they both would be filled with Shrimp and fries. Arnold Palmer was a 10/10 best I ever had.

Love this place! My partner and I went there on a whim at 10PM on a Friday and could not be happier about not just the very affordable pricing but also the absolute stellar quality of the ingredients. I got the Daddy bowl (?) and my partner got the Krabby patties and the elote and both were absolutely delicious. The service was absolutely wonderful and the vibe is super chill. 10/10 recommend to absolutely everyone!
