On the Grid : Bokeria

"One of the finest things about life is the way we must regularly stop what we are doing and devote our attention to eating." Written on a wall of the restaurant, this quote sums up how dedicated Bokeria is to crafting a beautiful dining experience. The restaurant resides in a large space (for Split standards at least!) that used to be a hardware store. The restaurant owners transformed the place to have a classy yet intimate ambience with a menu to match, offering Dalmatian ingredients in a fresh new way and an impressive selection of wine to pair. If you like their interior design, consider staying in one of the boutique rooms above the restaurant." - Leslie Yeh

This restaurant charmed us completely! The historic setting with its gorgeous interior made dinner feel special. Food was delicious - modern takes on Dalmatian classics with perfect execution. Their wine list impressed us with excellent local options we wouldn't find elsewhere.

Nice restaurant, with nice music and decoration. The food was tasty, although some of the dishes we tried were a bit heavy. We also tried the sea bass, which was way overcooked and dry. Great selection of wines and the staff was very friendly.

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal, and this restaurant exceeded all of our expectations! We had the best and prompt server, Andre💗, he was knowledgeable on the menu and helped us make great food and wine choices. I highly recommend this place!

Friendly service, good food and large portion of it too. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was very filling. My companion ordered the Angus steak, cooked to the way we liked it. Can highly recommend.

We sat in the window and enjoyed the view / people watching while we ate some small bites. Our server was super kind, even recommended some dishes which we chose. They did not disappoint. I hope to come back some day

I asked the waiter for local dish. He recommended the black ink risotto and the flat bread with stuffing inside. It was divine! Especially to the black ink risotto. Even the pasta was equally delicious. The waiter himself was very helpful with the recommendation and great service! We paid 98 eur for our bill. Though it was a little pricey, it was worth it.

We did not just have a meal here but really a full on experience. Marco, our waiter, was friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive. Each bite of food was delicious and Marco’s Croatian wine recommendation paired incredibly. The atmosphere in the small streets of Split cannot be beat. This place is a must try! We started with the burrata and then enjoyed the pasta and the lamb shank for our mains. Would recommend all three!

We did appetizers for dinner with two nice glasses of Croatian wine each. Prices were reasonable but portions were a little bit smaller than expected but delicious. Then again they were appetizers. The tacos as shown were fantastic but wanted more!
