"BoL Eatery, Downtown Ithaca. BoL is an asian-inspired ramen joint that also serves up some amazing dumplings, salads, and pho. The service is quick and the atmosphere is casual, with generous portions. Ingredients are locally-sourced, and there are ample vegetarian and vegan options (the coconut curry broth is amazing, for vegans and meat-eaters alike!). You are sure to leave feeling satisfied."

The salad was good. Nice flavor and lots of fresh veggies. The ramen was ok. The guy taking orders/cooking was where the experience became disappointing. He was polite and friendly to everyone else who walked in but for some reason just rude to my sister and I. We were just as lost as another group of people on how the ordering worked but no guidance was given. This mom daughter pair got not only guidance but the opportunity to taste some broth. I think if you're going to go above and beyond for some customers, make sure the others receive basic respect.

Really easy and fun way to get some hot, slurpy, noodle-y comfort food! The employees were friendly and super helpful. The guy at the counter explained everything to us right away. They even have rice pudding for dessert! It seems pricey at first, but depending on how much you eat you can get 2 servings out of it. I also think perhaps they make the food a bit bland on purpose so that you can choose which flavorings to add yourself from the little pots around the restaurant. Try a couple, they’re really good! Can’t wait to go back.

After an overly-friendly guided tour thru the all-bowl build-a-bowl type menu-- including salad bowls, noodle soup bowls, and salad bowls served over noodles (?)--and a long deciphering process for this DIY format, we found ourselves seat at Bōl with a view upstairs over the commons. The squash soup bowl was chinzy for the price but the rice noodles pho was better worth the value. Choosing vegetable broth for the pho was welcome and the vegetables in the soup were fresh and not overcooked. The set of 4 sauces (hoisin to crispy red pepper oil) was the most fun of the experience. Come here for a hip(ish) chipotle-type experience that feels less authentic and more pricy than the Vietnamese place on West State St.

BoL was not bad at all. The ordering process can be confusing if you come at it cold. Luckily, there was a guy prepared to explain everything as soon as I got there. The food was pretty decent - I ordered a Pho bowl. I wouldn't necessarily consider what I got to be Pho, but that doesn't change the fact that it was still delicious. The atmosphere was also great. It's clean, modern looking, and the music was great (they play alternative rock from the 90s and 00s). It is a bit expensive (roughly 24$ for a bowl of Pho, a soda, and 4 dumplings), but if that isn't an issue then I would recommend giving BoL a try.

I ordered the ramen with chicken and pork broth with beef as my protein, it was absolutely fantastic! We went on Friday and got free cookies which were gooey and tasty! When I asked for more beef the guy hooked me up and because we had to leave he gave me more broth. Definitely will come back again 10/5 stars! We were originally going to Taste of Thai but they were closed and I am glad that they were.

Holy wow!!! Great food concept, never been anywhere like it. I had the ramen noodle bowl with sliced pork and lots of vegetables, even a fresh egg on the side. The bowl was made to order and was super flavorful. Large portion, too. I tried the dumplings, and they were delicious. I can't to try something else.

The ramen with veggie broth, eggs, shrimp, and tofu was really delicious. I later tried the coconut red curry broth (vegan) and now I wish I'd gotten that instead! Next time for sure. The staff was really helpful as well. I'd definitely go back and order again but with the coconut red curry.

Unique atmosphere, with a cool way to order your food. Had the Ramen with pork, the pork was incredibly tender and very delicious. Enjoyed almost everything in the ramen. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was that the broth was a bit too sour for my tastes. But I'll definitely come back whenever I want great ramen.
