Delicious flat white, with a great coffee taste and pretty latte art. I had the hot cross bun French toast, and it was delicious! It wasn’t oily at all. It was served with chocolate sauce and maple syrup, neither of which were needed as it was so delicious. My partner had the mushroom toast with poached eggs and loved it. Really friendly staff. Fast service. Dog friendly.

We headed here for breakfast after seeing a TikTok review and weren't disappointed. We had the Sausage Buoy with an added hash brown and a latte. Coffee was lovely, food was even better. Staff were really nice. We had to wait a little but it was a busy service and you can see the chef cooking everything from scratch. Nice selection of pastries and cakes. Not cheap but worth paying for the quality food and coffee. Definitely recommend. 👌🏼

I had the chance to visit Bold Street Coffee, and it definitely lived up to its reputation. The place has laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere—bustling but not overwhelming—creating the perfect spot to enjoy a quality cup of coffee and take in the energy of the city. It immediately reminded me of the local coffee shops in Portland, Oregon, with its warm ambiance, friendly baristas, and a focus on great coffee rather than unnecessary frills. I went for a Batch Coffee, and it was smooth, well-balanced, and full of flavor—exactly what I look for in a solid, no-nonsense cup of coffee. No bitterness, just a rich and satisfying brew that showcases their dedication to quality beans and proper brewing techniques. As for food, I tried the Egg Buoys, and they were spot-on. The eggs were fluffy, the bread was fresh, and the combination of flavors made for a satisfying, hearty breakfast that paired perfectly with the coffee. It’s the kind of meal that feels simple yet crafted with care, much like the best coffee shops back in Portland. The overall experience was great—whether you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix or a place to sit down and enjoy your morning. The space has that mix of minimalist design and cozy charm, making it feel welcoming without trying too hard. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

Google
me and my partner stumbled across this place and it definitely was a good choice. I had the poached egg on sourdough add sausage and a portion of beans. probably the best eggs i have ever eaten. My boyfriend had the BSC fry up he enjoyed but little on the salty side. the beans were more on the tomato side but the flavour was incredible. staff were beyond friendly and the place had a great atmosphere. drink options were a oat milk chai, a tea and orange juice. this was all £46 which was quite pricey but would have been better if the sourdough was served with 2 peices of bread instead of 1. overall experience was 9/10 - we will be back 🫶🏻

Google
Liverpool doesn’t seem to have clocked on to cold brew yet, so when I saw that this place had some on the menu it was a no brainer. This is in a great location, close to all major transport links and accommodations. The coffee menu is designed for people who actually appreciate coffee and don’t just want the basic slosh you’re going to get from most of the surrounding options. So if you just want your coffee to be bitter and hot, or devoid of all flavor after being drowned in milk, then this place probably isn’t going to be for you. The coffee is sourced from interesting roasters and has great flavor profiles. Options are pretty diverse and both food and drink cater to a variety of dietary and allergy restrictions. I’ll look forward to coming back whenever I travel through the city again

Amazing place, come here for a few years and never disappoints, the staff are super welcoming and friendly. Special mention to Taz, who served me when I last came in. Exceptionally friendly service. The coffee and food is 10/10, would highly recommend

Yelp
My favourite coffee shop when I am in the area. Great coffee, great food. It's been a long time, but hope to pop by soon.

Yelp
The massive window in the front of the shop let's plenty of natural light in for reading, drawing, conversing or whatever else you may enjoy with sipping on a nice coffee. The mixture of communal and two top tables allows a spectrum of social interaction from nine at all to striking up conversations with strangers. The service is quick and the staff are friendly. I recommend the avocado toast & chilli. I typically only order filter coffee and I was not let down with the Brazil and Ecuador I had. I'd definitely recommend and would absolutely come back next time I find myself in Liverpool.

Yelp
Nice calm atmosphere. Great iced coffee. Could be a little cheaper but can't complain.

Yelp
As a coffee shop, I would give them 5 stars. However because of their food, I am giving them 4 stars. Food wasn't bad, but I am hoping that açai granola and fruit combination could be little cooler and egg toast with pepper could be less spicy. Really like the ambience, great place to chill or even study. Love the artwork as well. Coffee is awesome. Love the quality of coffee they provide. Staff members are all friendly, too. Our overall experience was nice.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to Bold Street Coffee - a really cool hangout and coffee shop on the constantly more amazing Bold Street (surprisingly given the name...) I'd had a few pints the night before and bacon was on my mind and tbh I was starving anyway so basically I tried to eat "all the food" My bacon butty was quite possibly one of the simplest but finest things I'd ever eaten - especially at £2.50 and followed up with a bowl of tasty banana and nut porridge, I felt like I was getting my nutritional balance just about right with this double header. Coffee was great and I really enjoyed their peppermint rooibos tea which I'd never had before - really tasty and one I'll be looking out for on other menu's in the future.

Yelp
Wow. I love coffee. And I L.o.v.e. Bold Street Coffee. It looks more like an art exhibition than a cafe inside with statement white walls and clean cut oak structures and flooring, bare hanging lightbulbs and art work sparsely positioned. It's a clean, fresh and new take on the whole coffee drinking experience. The staff are professional and extremely knowledgeable, the food locally sourced (they even make a bacon butty sound like a work of art!) I asked for the usual, just an Americano but the barista suggested I try the speciality single origin coffee, they're clearly passionate about what they do! I had a beautiful Brazilian blend on recommendation the other day. Great choice, good strong coffee. Independent all the way, forget Nero and Starbucks, Bold Street has a new Top Dog!

Yelp
Great speciality coffee in Liverpool. Really nice atmosphere and great food menu. I had mushrooms on toast with bacon, really tasty and generous portions. The french toast with bacon went down really well. Another member if our party's toast was forgotten about so the coffee was cold by the time she was eating but it was nice when it arrived. They offer Has Bean, Square Mile and Workshop coffees on filter and espresso of which we had both and the filter did top the espresso which wasnt as flavourful. However, really nice coffee menu and lovely chatty staff. Will definetly be back next time we visit Liverpool!

Yelp
This is a great cafe here in Liverpool. It is located on a street with a ton of other shops and restaurants, allowing you time to stop in and get a great coffee before going out, or allowing you to sit and relax. Bold Street has a wonderful atmosphere with kind baristas willing to assist. We tried a shot of espresso alongside a cup of filter coffee and both were amazing! They only offer almond milk as their alternative milk option, but they had tons of drinks other than coffee such as juice and kombucha. If I lived in Liverpool, Bold Street Coffee is where I would be!

Yelp
Favourite coffee place in Liverpool. Lattes are fantastic are staff are always lovely. Can get quite busy though so can be hard to get a seat.

Yelp
I had high expectations and maybe that was the problem. Dropped in for lunch on a day out to Liverpool. I've heard about the place from coffee lover friends in Manchester - hence the high expectations. Inside is smart and minimal and the service was prompt. We had a filter and an espresso, plus a feta and beetroot sandwich and a tuna and lime mayo sandwich. The filter was good, though not great. It turned up far too quickly, making me a little suspicious. The sandwiches OK for prepared stuff. It feels like they could put more effort into the coffee, then I could forgive them for the sandwiches.

Yelp
Cute specialty coffee shop in the heart of Bold Street. I enjoyed sipping on my latte, topped with lovely milk art, served warmly drinkable immediately upon receipt. I also loved the avocado toast sprinkled with chili flakes; it had a bit of a lemony flavor, a dash of salt, and just the slightest tinge of spice. I'd go back if I were in Liverpool longer.

Yelp
This place is just super cool. My friend and I were starving and this was the first thing we saw. It was an awesome pick. The food is great and their chai tea latte wasn't half bad either. I would definitely come back here just to taste some other things on the menu.

Yelp
Opened on the spot which used to be inhabited (do businesses inhabit?) by Coffee Union, Bold Street Coffee already has a strong showing of support from local drinkers of the heated-up ground bean beverage. Flavoursome coffee in basic but clean and stylish surroundings, Bold Street Coffee is the perfect place to do a little work, catch up on some reading or even just crane your neck to the window and watch the world roll past. Bold Street has almost as many characters as it does character and this is a safe haven to stare at them as they wend their way up or down the hill. And as long as you're here, why not get a pastry or one of their soon-to-be-infamous chorizo paninis - infinitely preferable to the pre-packed junk you'd be getting at Starbucks.

Yelp
one of my favourite places, great location and great coffee. can get a bit busy sometimes but in the morning it's quieter and can be a good place to work/read :)

Yelp
I knew I was going to love Bold Street Coffee from the moment I walked through its doors and discovered that it contains a picture of a pole dancing Lionel Richie on its counter. From then on in, they could have served me mud in a fancy cup and I still would have swooned and handed them over my cold hard cash. Thankfully, they didn't serve me mud. Anything but. Indeed, I'd go so far as to say that Bold Street Coffee serves up some of the best coffee in Merseyside. Situated on the site formerly occupied by Coffee Union, this most recent addition to L1's numerous selection of cafés serves up an excellent selection of coffees, all made lovingly by some rather attractive baristas. Plus, they won't charge you the earth for it either. When I went in there on Friday, I managed to get a delicious and wonderfully well made Flat White for less than two quid - AND it was served up with a smile, which is something I haven't found myself saying about some of Bold Street's other coffee emporiums! Bold Street Coffee has also started serving up a selection of rather delicious sounding food. I've yet to try the bacon sandwich that they proudly promote on the blackboard situated outside their front door each morning, but if it's anything as good as the toast and peanut butter I happily devoured, then you're certainly in for a treat. From the looks of things, this has all the elements in place to be a great little café. I'm looking forward to attending some of their tasting sessions, as well as spending some afternoons lazing around on their sofas, soaking up the sunshine, and sipping delicately on some of their excellent looking blends.

Yelp
After a wander round Liverpool on a sunny afternoon, we popped into Bold Street for a drink before catching our train back to Manchester. We grabbed a spot near the front door, with some sun-worshipers already having bagged the stoop out front. I wasn't in the mood for a hot drink so went for a lemon San Pellegrino, the other half going for a coffee. It took 5-10 minutes to arrive at the table, though he assured me afterwards it was worth the wait! There's plenty of people watching to do in this time, with a healthy mixture of businessmen, couples, friends and people-who-I'm-sure-had-been-there-all-day. Unfortunately, the decor was off the mark to me. The large light wooden bar and chalkboards were mismatched to the odd, plastic furniture. The table we were on - complete with some faint coffee ring marks - reminded me more of a 'cafe' than a local coffee shop. Perhaps we'll be back but I think we'll try somewhere different next time!

Yelp
Have been here for morning coffee, fancy coffee shop on bold street. Tried my first cappuccino In here was impressed very rich in taste and flavour. Staff where ok, friendly enough. Was a bit confused what to do after ordering. Good location could have breed parking

Yelp
I'm afraid to say that the coffee in Bold Street Coffee is rather wasted on me as I'm more of a tea gal but I'm told by my coffee connoisseur friends that BSC is one of the best places to get a cup of the old 'brown gold' in Liverpool. What I can say with absolute conviction though is that this place does one of the best scrambled eggs in the city...and I know my scrambled eggs, I'm famed for them in fact, so Bold Street Coffee, have a gold star from me! One of the only down sides for me is that is can feel a little cramped at times (if you want a private conversation don't sit at one of the tables along the wall on the left as you go in) but for a relaxed chill out with friends it's ideal. And the cakes are pretty damn good too. Maybe I'll treat myself to a coffee in there next time...

Yelp
Bold Street Coffee was an early role model when I opened my own shop, despite the fact I'd never visited. The whole vibe and approach was something I wanted to emulate. So I finally got around to visiting my home city for the first time in maybe 20 years and top of the agenda was Bold St. I have to say, of the several trailblazing, third wave places I've visited none have really lived up to expectations. I suspect in these cases that the owner/s who applied and reinforced the initial energy, control and originality take a back seat, so the vision is passed on to staff - and really the staff you find can make or break a place. This place unfortunately fell into the same category. Nevertheless, BSC is clearly very successful. Both times I went in it was pretty packed. The best seats were all taker so I had to contend with the hard box bench facing the counter. This meant time was more limited. It wasn't comfy, both in terms of a place to sit and the considerable number of passing people waiting to be served. I had acceptable flat whites each time but not exceptional by any means. Both time there was a bitter after-taste that didn't do anything for me. Maybe it was over-extracted, maybe too hot, maybe just their preferred blend. I dunno. I didn't order food as the bench seat didn't lend itself o eating. Staff first time were very friendly, second time less so ... including the cardinal sin for me chatting to a regular at the front of the line while we mere customers wait in line for them to finish. So mixed experience ... I see they're successful, but for me it was disappointing overall. I realise part of this could be unrealistic expectations, but I know when I feel comfortable and I know whether I like the coffee and service or not. BSC is still a good coffee shop. It's just not exceptional.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite coffee place in Liverpool. Friendly staff, excellent coffee, and beautiful latte art every time. The menu is nothing short of amazing, every item has a very unique twist, as well as the occasional weekend specials, which are never boring and totally original, pushing culinary boundaries for coffee shops, or even full service restaurants. The toasties and take away sandwiches are delicious and original, as well. The price for food is reasonable, though some of their more exotic coffees are a little more pricey. All very worth it. When in Liverpool, this place is an absolute must, you will not regret any number of visits!

Yelp
One of the best coffee joints in Liverpool - they specialize in Aeropress coffee, and have an abundant choice of quality beans to select from. Although not a microbrewery, their coffee tastes very fresh. I also had their orange almond cake and a nice cheese sandwich with plum jam, quite delicious.

Yelp
I have been here twice now since my first visit just over a week ago and this place has some of the worst service of any cafe in town. The guys here are not just slow they have got orders wrong and kept me waiting for ages. I was about to let it go because they offerred me a free coffee next time I came in...guess what happened.

Yelp
Best cafe worldwide, so friendly too! Come here! Bring friends and family too. You've NEVER tasted coffee until you have been here. Coffee lovers must come here

When ever you next visit liverpool this place is a must ! Excellent coffee ! Me and my hubby love a decent flat white and we both said it was one of the best we had ever had ! The food looked good but we has just eaten at leaf down the road and couldn't manage anything else but I look Forward to returning and trying out the menu

Yelp
Bold Street is the place to go for an exquisite coffee. Great quality and skilled baristas all done in a cool, comfortable space on Bold Street. This is the kind of place you can go and just hang out for a while. I also worked there one day - until I had downed a flat white, cappuccino, and Spanish Latte and literally could not take another drop. It is also worth showing up hungry. The scrambled eggs and salmon were excellent. Bold Street has become my "go to" place to grab a cup and chill.

Yelp
Bold Street Cafe opened only last week but it's already proving a popular meeting place in the heart of the city centre. Formerly Coffee Union, this venue is ideally situated towards the top of Bold Street. In terms of standing out from the other coffee shops up and down Bold Street, this place prides itself on great coffee and offer great service. They serve a fantastic bacon butty at just £2.50 and their cappuccinos wash it down a treat. The coffee is good and strong and the staff were very helpful. I visited during the week of Liverpool Sound City and noticed that this place was becoming a hub for bands and promoters to catch up with one another throughout the day. To sum it up I'd say this place offers the same comfort as Fact Cafe, but is slightly cheaper and somewhat less pretentious! Their mission statement is to bring Liverpool's coffee scene up to date and into the future, and I wish them the best of luck!

Yelp
Went in for breakfast. This shop seems quite unassuming from the outside, but I noticed it was pretty busy at 8.30 in the morning so figured something must be good about it! Not disappointed... I asked for a coffee macchiatto (although it's not written on the coffee menu, there was no problem in getting one) and a bacon butty. The coffee blend was good - velvety and smooth, and the size of the macchiatto decent. The bacon butty was excellent! Really tasty, fresh bread and good quality bacon. The decor and atmosphere is very light and airy, even on such a dull day as the one I went in on. This created a nice, pleasant and relaxed oasis away from the grey skies and drizzle! The crowd and staff were all very chilled and friendly. And it was nice to see a good mix of people of different ages amongst the customers - there was no pretentious feelings of a place primarily for the hip/boho/arty/young etc etc crowd. It appears infact to be a place for anyone who happens to like good quality coffee. The only thing I would recommend though is for the shop to get in some of the morning papers for customers to read... had to zip across to the newsagents for one. A coffee shop I would definitely recommend.

Derek P.

Yelp
Bad experience here this morning. £2.60 for a cappuccino was a bad start; that's more expensive than anywhere else in Liverpool. Then when it arrived it was a very small cup. We ordered one regular and one decaffeinated, but they brought 2 decaffs. They didn't apologise but took one away. Supposedly a regular coffee was brought back but I'm sure it was just the same one returned! Music was loud, and the door didn't shut properly so we got an icy blast to cool our expensive little coffees! Never again. Hopefully FACT will reopen soon....

Yelp
A busy little place! It was lovely and cosy and the soup was delicious, but there wasn't enough space for everyone had to sit very close with strangers! Reasonable prices and great food definitely recommend if you don't mind the business!

Became our breakfast place of choice whilst in Liverpool. Good coffee and great toast. Bacon sandwiches looked good too.

Yelp
Best coffee that I have EVER tasted, milk is so creamy! So many different blends to try you will never be bored. And they do tea for you weirdo's! Right in front of your eyes. Food tastes amazing too. Best cafe in England, possibly the World :) Staff are lovely and there is a buzz in there.

Yelp
Ok, it's a tricky one, I have been a customer for more than 8 months religiously almost 3 times a week. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the coffee, even though it is overpriced compared to similar places in London, each cup are made the right way and rarely fails. It's with the food and the customer service that I had few problems, although some members of the staff are lovely and professional, few experiences made me rethink my loyalty to that place. Food there isn't cheap AT ALL, so you expect excellent customer service. Unfortunately the success of the place (due a lot to the hype than just a good coffee) give them the right to never sorry for their mistakes, and even make you pay for it. It isn't good enough for me. I'm very disappointed but, there is "The Bakery" in front which for me have far better approach to clientele, surely an as good coffee, and definitely better food. Good point on them, they accept calm and well behaved dog.
