Was very disorganized and ill equipped to handle complications such as flight delay and cancellation. We were placed in the hallway to the plane that was uncomfortably hot (33+ degrees outside) for about thirty minutes with no communication. There were many families that had to sit down in the ground with their children because it was like a green house in there. The helpdesk lady didn't speak much English, which was frustrating when our SAS flight to Copenhagen was suddenly canceled and we wanted information. The staff aren't the most polite, but that might just be an Italian culture thing, as I'm used to more delicate customer care. The area past security was very packed, so it MIGHT be smarter to go through security closer to your departure instead of 3 hours before, like we did. There was an area with a crazy line because they weren't using the dividers properly, but they got very upset when I tried to film the line.

A small cozy and comfortable airport with a very good lounge, not too much to offer, but comfortable to sit around. Have a nice coffee, some croissant, some wine, a very close fast track area.

You can check my profile. I've traveled a lot, and I've never been in a worse airport than this one. There's just not enough space for all the people they are cramming into this place and not only that, the air conditioning is inexistent. It's not only claustrophobic and suffocating but I think it's simply not even safe. I'm thirsty and it's impossible to buy water in the waiting area next to the gates due to the excess of people lining up on every store. There's no space to sit. I ended up having to sit on the floor next to security. Never come here.

Relatively new and modern airport. Much larger than the Florence one. But, be warned, there are no power outlets anywhere!! I am departing today from gate 4 and it looks like the airport intentionally removed the random 2~3 power outlets left behind by vending machines, and left holes in the walls. So, if you are traveling for business, or need to do work on the go, be warned! And the big queation: why would you make the life of your passengers so much more challenging by removing the outlets? There was one lonely recharge station sponsored by some company, but the usb ports were not working and the only 2 electric outlets were mobbed. On the plus sise: incredible but true, there was a US-style water fountain outsise the restroom where you can drink or refill your water bottle. That is a nice touch!

Quite small but there’s a lot of food & beverages shop. For Tax refund, remember to bring the products with you. They check every items.

Nice and efficient airport. It’s well connected to Bologna Centrale and even to Florence via the shuttle bus, which makes getting in and out super easy. Also, some nice food options inside if you have time before your flight. Overall, smooth experience!

Delays for every flight. People sleeping everywhere. One toilet for the whole departing area. No toilet paper. Every time I am here it’s a total nightmare. Absolute hell on earth. Avoid if you can. Take the train to any other city and fly from there. Last time I was here someone was sick all over the floor and not one person who worked there was interested in cleaning it. The police don’t care, the people working there don’t care. Just have to wait for the cleaner. I watched a man slip in vomit at 6am. Every time it’s as bad as the last.

Departed from here on a Sunday morning, which should be quite busy, since everyone comes/goes back after the weekend. Found a neat Kiss&Fly area, a nice Ferrari store inside, but the reason of the review lays mainly in the organization of the security check: fast, efficient, and with a method I've never seen in any other airport (each belt has multiple "slots", so you can go to the next one, even if someone is at the tail, in front of you). That's the Italian efficiency to take as a nice example.

At first, when I saw the massive line at security, I was ready to explode in my too familiar anger outburst. However, when we checked our luggage with Air France they kept repeating with that suave European accent, "Just go to the business lounge." "Huh, what about the Maginot line at security?" "You don't have to go to line. You go through security in business lounge." "So I just wave at the hundreds of people waiting in line?" "Si, Si, Si." Yup, I went to the business lounge, had some food and drink, used the fancy toilet, and waltzed through security. I didn't get it, but I take to this kind of elitism easily. It was a wonderful airport experience, and I felt like a celebrity. This is the way to fly.
