Bomboras Torquay

Ordered the seafood platter. Was serviced prawns instead of the Moreton Bay bug without even being informed. When asked where the bugs where, they simply said there is a shortage of bugs so they swapped them for prawns instead. When I raised that I have seen dishes coming out of the kitchen with the bugs, they said it is available for the seafood linguine. So I asked why is it available for the linguine but not for my platter. Finally the served us two halves of two clearly different bugs. There was no apology, just arrogance from the staff. Food was below average, the prawns, bugs and salmon were overcooked. Terrible service especially on a day there is a 15% surcharge.

Had a fantastic breakfast. I ordered the Vegetarian Bombie Breaky, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned loved the vibrant veggies and seasoning. My chai latte was creamy and spiced just right, a real treat. My partner got the Veg Wrap, which was packed with tasty fillings and had a great crispy edge. Their cappuccino was smooth with a rich foam, exactly how they like it. The vibe was cozy, and the staff were super friendly. Definitely coming back for more!

My Port Arlington mussels were cooked perfectly, and the chocolate lava cake was delicious. The young guy who served us was friendly and helpful, as were the other staff. The location was perfect for a sunny autumn afternoon lunch looking out over the ocean.

Bomberas Torquay Randomly stumbled upon this place on Google Maps and it turned out to be a really nice surprise. The vibe is super chill—great spot to start the day. I had the big breakfast and a waffle. Both were good—nothing too fancy, just tasty and satisfying. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a relaxed place to eat. The staff were very friendly (and yes, also cute), which made the whole experience even nicer.

We have been to Bomboras multiple times and we think their seafood linguini is the best. Sadly, we were told today that their new menu from 1st September will not have this option. Very disappointed!

Solid seafood linguine. Pasta was nice, sauce was good and seafood was mostly cooked well. Moreton baybug was a bit firm but the other elements were great. Large portion of fairly crunch chips. Pretty nice place for dinner. The cocktail was alright too.

Table service was prompt and efficient, orders came in good time and most food was very good. The drinks were average, coffee seemed quite bitter. Beware the undisclosed 10% Sunday surcharge, the menu only mentions a 15% public holiday surcharge.

My wife and I have eaten breakfast or brunch here numerous times but we had lunch here today for the first time. What a great experience, we both had one of the salad bowls. I had the salmon and she had the middle eastern. Great flavours. Servings were generous and overall a memorable meal. Definitely worth the price and we can’t wait to have lunch here again.
