Google
This is by far my favorite cafe in Ellicott City! The food and drinks are always amazing and the prices are much lower than other similar cafes around. There is always plenty of seating and it is usually very quiet and a great place to have a nice conversation or get some work done. Highly recommend this cafe!

Google
They made us a custom gender reveal cake. Came out perfectly and they even decorated it for us! Tastes great too

Google
The chocolate cake was a little dry. The coffee was okay. Their Bingsoo was also okay. Their small donuts were good, and tofu snack was delicious. But the price was super inexpensive.

Omg! Korean bakery! Yes please! The pastries and bread were fresh and so soft. Taste amazing! Prices were good! Wish I could bring it all back with! They also have boba there! I got the taro latte since I dont see that often and had to try it! It was delicious too! Don't hesitate to go and try some Korean treats here!

Google
Lovely cafe. Staff is very ice as friendly. Great selection of pastries and breads. Absolutely love the green tea smoothie. Price is very reasonable as well, including the prices for the cakes. Decent amount of seating to go with a few friends. Will definitely be returning and recommending this place to friends.

Google
One of the best cafes I have ever been to. Their cake was delicious and flavourful. I love their interior too. The cafe was quite in a perfect way. I enjoyed the cakes and coffee. The price was perfect also. Service was also up to the mark. I will go again for sure.

Purchased cake, cookies & coffees. Food was ok, service not so great if you are brown; the cashier was fawning over the Caucasian customers behind us in line, could not be bothered to say “hello or thank you” to us.

Google
Can’t describe enough how much I love Bon Appetit. Their sandwiches are awesome. I can eat their sausage egg and cheese everyday! Definitely my most favorite Korean bakery in Howard County.

Yelp
Nice, quiet setting for a study session or a casual cafe date. I like the plenty of options. Common French/Korean staples were there like milkbread, red bean pastries, cakes, etc. Their drinks were surprisingly cheap yet good quality. Iirc I had a taro latte with oat milk for under $5. Can't beat that price anywhere! Seems like a family run business. Service was quick and no fuss. Food was delivered with smiles. Recommended! We'd go again!

Yelp
I was surprised @ how much I liked this place! I've been to a couple of cafes in the area so when my husband was craving a sweet treat I looked for a new one nearby. This came up & I didn't really expect much. I saw some good reviews & some bad reviews. It feels very cozy. It looks like it's family owned & there wasn't anyone there on a Sunday afternoon so we ended up being served pretty quickly. I had the matcha latte & my husband had an ube latte. We tried a coffee bun & one with mocha cream. It's not the best quality food but for prices I thought it was worth it. I could see myself studying here during my college days since it was pretty low-key & the items were affordable. So if you're looking for something like that I would recommend.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday morning, pretty quiet, and I loved it , did see some regulars here. Friendly staff, and can tell the owner/cashier is a very efficient person LOL , her voice can be a bit loud sometimes, but it doesn't bother me. Clean shop, have lots pastries selections, and tasty sandwiches. open concept, the layout is very similar to the other Korean owned coffee + bakeries in the area. Parkings are right out front very convenient. Definitely recommend to check out this hidden gem @winedinenvacay

Yelp
this place is SO underrated!! vast selection of sandwiches, korean pastries, drinks, and cakes! And their prices are very very good. I mean, I got a sandwich, a bread, and coffee for like $10! it's quiet, and they have plenty of seating inside & great place to chat and/or get work done.

Yelp
April 2023 Cozy cafe and bakery located in Centennial Place. I was surprised how much merchandise they carry considering it is smaller than other local Korean bakeries in E.C. The parking lot was empty so I was surprised that there were a few patrons. There is limited seating and a $5 minimum to use a credit or debit card. I asked the employee which is more popular, the chocolate mousse cake or triology and he said the cake. Good recommendation as it was amazing! It was rich, creamy, and sweet just how I like it. Highly recommend! I also purchased a green bean bun, which is one of my favorites. So glad I found this bakery! As of right now, this is one of my top two favorites in E.C. alongside Tous Les Jours.

Yelp
Cute cozy cafe with good Asian bread/desserts. The fried donuts are pretty greasy but chewy and overall good. Garlic cream bread: not really sure what the exact name for this bread is but it was surprisingly really good! It doesn't have an over powering garlic flavor and it has a good amount of cream for each quarter slice!

Yelp
The staff were polite and efficient. The food was great. The coffee was as well. Quiet clean dinning area.

Seontaik K.

Yelp
Such great staff, good prices and very good coffee. It's a great place to have a quick chat with friends and quiet enough to get lots of work done. Best bakery near the area.

Yelp
Bon Appetit has been around for awhile now and it has always been great. I love their Galbi bread (because it looks like ribs) but they always seem to be out when I am around. This was one of those time. However, they do have other delicious goods all the time. It is less crowded than the other bakeries down the street because it is not located directly on the main street. For that reason, I enjoy going to this local business.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little spot for food and coffee. They don't have much in the way of teas but their coffee seems to be good. They also have a great assortment of pastries and breads that are baked daily. They have about 10 tables inside and it was a nice place to spend a morning!
google avatar

Anika C.

Yelp
If you looking for quiet place to have a cup of coffee and a delicious pastry- this is the place to be. Had the walnut cookies and a coffee. Great service and affordable prices. Staff are always friendly

Yelp
Excellent place for breakfast or lunch. Reasonable prices. Great service and a nice place just to hang out.

Yelp
Seriously the best bingsoo in town! No matter how many café and bingsoo places are on route 40, I hope Bon Appetit never closes because their bingsoo is soooo good and affordable! It doesn't have too much ice where you have to dig through the entire bowl to get any flavor, and it comes with plenty of toppings and ice cream for a great flavor to ice ratio. My favorites are the fruit and coffee bingsoo. The fruit in the fruit bingsoo is pretty seasonal, but it is always fresh and juicy. Also the coffee bingsoo comes with lots of mochi, which is always a plus! If you are looking for the best bingsoo spot, come to Bon appetit. They not only have amazing bingsoo, but tasty pastries and cakes at an affordable price.

Yelp
We liked the place, packaging, and cakes but that was a shame that in all of our castells we found egg shells‍‍ very disappointed

Yelp
The red bean bingsoo/ shaved ice is the best one I have tasted in Ellicott city! Closer to the one in S. Korea than Siroojuk.

Yelp
This is a Korean style bakery. They serve everything from cake, teas, coffee, pastries, macarons, shaved ice to ice cream. This place is a perfect spot to relax with friends and drink some tea and chat away. The atmosphere is very cute and playful. There are playful words and wall decor all along the bakery. The red velvet cake is mediocre I have a sense that they buy it from a separate vendor and sell them by the slice. Their macarons are okay. I feel like I bake better ones at home. They sell tea bags by the box. It's about five bucks for a box of tea bags. That's a good deal in my opinion. They also sell birthday cakes here so stop by if you need one. I do have to say that their birthday cakes are not super sweet, which I do not care for. I love super sweet cake. However, if sweets are not your thing, then a cake from here will be perfect. Their bingsoo (shaved ice) is awesome for a hot summer's day. My favorite is the red bean bingsoo. The red bean bingsoo they sell here is super old school. It's a replica of the type I used to eat as a child. The bingsoo they sell is not upscaled and modernized like the ones you find in other Korean bakeries. The red bean bingsoo is childhood memory heaven. I love their red bean bingsoo!

Yelp
This bakery is so awesome they have a great selection of bakery items at a great price!!!!! Everything is delicious
google avatar

Yelp
A sad bakery that does not satisfy your sweet tooth. Everything here is mediocre to pretty bad. I got their bingsoo. It had red beans, cocktail fruits, and condensed milk drizzled on it. It tasted like bingsoo I made at home when I was a child. Not saying that's a bad thing, but there was nothing special about it. Red velvet cake tasted like it was bought from somewhere. Decent cake though, but wouldn't get it next time. And macarons are sad. They looked ugly in the first place, so I should have known they were going to be a disappointment. Right when I took a bite it was way too crunchy and there was a huge gap in my macaron. Not worth your money. I should have drove a little farther to another bakery, especially because it was my bday and I wanted really good dessert. Oh wellssss:(

Yelp
Today I am having the taro milk tea and a bacon and egg no cheese. Both are good. The service is good.

Yelp
I was craving mango mousse cake and found a delicious, fruit topped one at Bon Appetit! Service was friendly and fast. The little cafe area with distanced tables looked like a nice place for a breakfast or coffee break. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Our wedding cake was from Bon Appetit Bakery and it was delicious!!! We got the original yellow spongecake with fresh cream. It was a hit with all of our guests!

Yelp
Great food and coffee! Delicious pound ale and other baked goods! Friendly staff and fast service. Can get busy at times. With Covid-19 they have you order and then go outside and wait for your order in your car. Masks required. Reduced hours, but open.
google avatar

Yelp
Have been going to this backery for years, never had any issues. If you're looking for indoor dining they do have it during this time of covid!

Yelp
I made my first visit here yesterday. I like this bakery more than La Boulangerie (near Lotte on Rt 40) b/c it offers a little more selection on items and it is just more spacious. Like La Boulangerie, it is a Korean bakery, but a more "modern" (not the word I'm looking for, but I mean it carries more than glutinous rice based items, or fruit/nut based desserts, etc.) one in that it has breads, pastries, cakes, and cookies, and many with japanese and french influence. From the items there that I have tasted, it is quite good. They also offer samples of some items, so you can try before you buy. This place reminds me a little of Shilla Bakery in Virginia, but on a smaller scale. I like this place, and will be back.

Yelp
Bumping it up to two stars! Since my initial review with the moldy box, I've had another bad experience and next two were decent experiences. The second bad experience was that the guy charged me all sorts it amounts for two different types of bread. I got three varieties (small pastries and a loaf) and the pastries were all the same price and the loaf was more, but he rang them up with at least four different prices total. I'm not surprised, given that none of the products have any prices (not even with a little price sticker gun) directly on them. Maybe it's management's way of hoping to make more money by tricking their customers - who knows. Third time around, the guy - different than the previous time - was nice enough to get me the slice way in the front (it was prettier) and did everything correctly. The most recent time I went was a few weeks ago. We debated going to Shilla but it seemed just too expensive. We were glad we picked Bon Appetit as their macarons are quite cheaper than Shilla's. I love their strawberry cake - which Shilla didn't even have! Added some green tea and it was perfect.

Yelp
A very nice bakery with lots of options at decent prices! Great service and cashier gave me a free pastry. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
Date: 06/08/2013 $4.50 per smoothie The smoothies at Bon Appetit Bakery were by far the worst smoothies I have ever tasted in my life. We ordered the following: 1. blueberry smoothie 2. kiwi smoothie 3. mango smoothie The smoothies contain no real fruit; and if the menu said it does, it is so watered down and masked with the powder flavoring. We literally ended up tossing the smoothies out after taking a sip. Waste of money!

Yelp
Such a cute place! I was very happy that my husband found this place on yelp. It's very pink on the inside, and i loooove it =) Lots of different selections of pastries and desserts. Now, if you're going to compare it to korean bakeries in nyc, then you will be disappointed... but there's not many of these in MD, so I was very happy with what they had. We ordered shaved ice (red bean). So good! Not the best... but hey, this isn't NYC or Annandale, VA... The mochi pieces were huge, as well as a good serving of red beans, watermelons, and a few other fruits. Definitely thumbs up =) Bottom line: a must go if you are craving for some good pastries and desserts! =) YAY!
google avatar

Rob N.

Yelp
The people are friendly, but the food quality is just... meh. Very quiet at what should have been near peak lunchtime. Should have been a warning. While it looks like they try to look like they provide options for a light lunch, the menu's limited. Really, this is a coffee shop and Korean bakery. But even the baked stuff seemed a touch weary looking.

Yelp
Hidden Korean bakery in Ellicott City. I'm not familiar with Ellicott City as well as others, so I'm not sure if this is necessarily sure if this is the best bakery, but I do know that there are a million Korean bakeries in the area. I was told this one is as good as the Shilla Bakeries; they do have fresh baked cookies, breads, and cakes like very typical Asian/Korean bakeries. Most people I saw here on a Friday evening came as a family to share bing soo or came here to sit and study. We ordered the kiwi and taro smoothies, a chocolate macaroon, and a raspberry jam cookie. The kiwi smoothie is tart but tasted like they used real kiwi, with bits of kiwi seeds in every sip. The taro smoothie on the other hand was creamy and light, but sadly, tasted like powder mix. The chocolate macaroon and raspberry-jam cookie were very fresh, I would've liked them both to be softer to the taste. If I come back to the area, I would def visit this place again.

Yelp
green tea bingsoo = yummm probably the best korean bakery in the area
google avatar

Sal P.

Yelp
I love our little neighborhood bakery! Walking in there is always delightful -- the smell, the layout of the baked goods, and the very friendly folks working the counter. Only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review? Their coffee. Definitely not great coffee...I enjoy the lovely Korean teas, however, especially the Ginger Tea, which is not an every day item here in the States! **tip: get the acorn squash bread. You will NOT regret it!!!**

Caroline N.

Yelp
Customer service has been mediocre lately, and why are they hiring teeny boppers all of a sudden... Staff turnover is bothersome these last few months, because my coffee drinks are now pretty inconsistent. This past week I also found out they have been substituting skim milk for 2% (without asking the customer is totally wrong). Sorry, but there IS a difference... At least Shilla next block over tells me they're sorry and are out of something, instead of just making the decision to substitute on their own. Bon Appetite also substitutes a certain bread as a sandwich side, if they've run out of potato chips - but they don't tell you that until the food is out... and the customers I've seen just let it go - or question the side sub after the waitress has left... Their mocha bubble smoothie is good (pre mixed) but still - very good compared to other flavors of bubble smoothies... Bubble smoothies just all seem to be pretty crappy on Rt. 40, so I wouldn't get their fruit ones... But their boboa is consistent.

Yelp
I have been coming by here since it opened, mainly for baked good and coffee. The baked goods are always fresh and the staff has always been super nice. They also have all the ingredients listed on the names for the items which is nice since we have friends and family with weird allergies. 2 stars off for: I ordered coffee here (like every other visit) and for some reason I didn't learn my lesson. Each time I order something (always a hit coffee drink, which varies from Americanos to Mochas, etc) it tastes like it was the last batch that had been sitting on a warmer for hours. Not sure if this is an issue with their brewing system or not but it makes the coffee unbearable. I have only asked once for a new drink and I was greeted with some pushback from tbe young staff working and then a finally remake but it tasted the same. And for a $3.50 small cup of coffee? I'm better off driving over to the chain coffee place.

Eun Joo H.

Yelp
If I can give this place one more star I definitely would! I ordered 14 inch cake that is supposed to be for about 15 people. Fresh cream with fruit white cake to be exact. This thing had three layers and was packed in a huge cake box. We had almost half of the whole cake leftover. It was so goooooood!!! Moist, not overly sweet or heavy. I ate my leftovers days later and it was still good! Complements and then some to the baker, I recommend this place over any other bakeries in the Ellicott City area!

Yelp
I've only been here twice and I'm glad that I came. Normally I would have never found this place just tucked away in the shopping center that you may not realize is a shopping center that's not even a shopping center it's like a strip mall well it's not even like a strip mall is like a couple of businesses together. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pastries are fresh and have the best taste to them. Although I've only been twice each time I've going to try something new and I have no complaints..

Shelly W.

Yelp
I have just discovered this place and been there twice, ordered a Chai Tea Boba both times and the second time also got a strawberry mango smoothie. The interior is dusty, the menu board has masking tape on it, the doors could use a good windex, some of the stuff is modern some very asain the decor is not very well assembled, some of the tables look homestyle some cafe style, you can see folded up towels on the coffee machine, it looks gloomy and dusty and has kitchen knick knacks, if you round the corner you can see into the kitchen which doesn't look too clean. the chai tea is alright, the boba is hard and cold tho. The smoothies are fake and very very very sweet ... not good at all. I can't say I will be back
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
The pastries and coffee were lightly sweetened, which allowed me to enjoy the subtleties of the items more that I might in other bakeries.
google avatar

Cybil N.

Yelp
This was our dessert place back in MD. After bingeing on Korean food, we would come here afterwards for some bing soo. The green tea(matcha) was the best one! They also have bubble teas available but they weren't as flavorful as I expected them to be.
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
What a cute and quaint little place. Tucked away in a small area of the main strip of Route 40. You have to actually *look* for this bakery online or be a local to know that it's there. And you should *look* for it. It's a morning treat stop for sure. We just moved here, so trying out the local coffee and sweets is a must. Coffee was excellent. I got a Honey Castella Cake, Elephant ears or Palmiers (which they call hearts). Both were delicious. You can taste the real butter. Everything looked so enticing so I limited myself to just those 2 items. Will have to go back for some more Honey Cake and macarons! Ample parking, service was very friendly and fast. Plenty of seating too! I like.

Yelp
Bon Appetit Bakery & Cafe has burst on the scene with sweets, bread and sandwiches, although it is all but hidden from Rte 40 in Ellicott City. The new bakery offers up a Korean-tinged variety accessible to anyone. Sweets for a snack. Cakes for a special occasions. Sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. And there are red bean donuts. Oh, I love red bean sweets, and Bon Appetit's rice donuts are bulked-up donut holes -- a really nice balance between the filing and the surrounding fried dough. Check out Bon Appetit because you can't go wrong. The sweets are terrific. Madelines, donuts, mnju, and three kinds of castella. The last two are Japanese pastries, although I only learned that on Wikipedia. Bon Appetit could use some explanations -- a few lines about each variety to tell you what you can buy. The cakes are obvious. An entire case is filled with formal-looking cakes and tortes. I assume they're a Korean style because I have seen similar ones at La Boulangerie and the bakery at the front of H Mart. Those would make a birthday or an office party. My wife doesn't like cake, so I have never bought one yet. But the rest of the place is definitely a chance to explore. On Sunday, they were offering green tea donuts. Not my favorites, but certainly something to try. Much of the items are individually wrapped, so you can grab one to try. This time, I tried lightly-salted bread sticks that were crisp and perfect with soup, Next time, I'm going to get the cookies that look like smiley faces. On top of all the sweets, you can also get sandwiches or bubble tea. You can also get breakfast sandwiches, and the egg sandwiches were cheap. From the effort put into the pastries, I assume that they're paying attention to all those items as well. I'd love to hear if you lunch there. (Update: One thought. I have to be honest that you can go wrong with some of the savory breads. They were tasting a "pizza baguette" that didn't thrill me. Not terrible, but you should eat sweets at Bon Appetit and get your pizza elsewhere.)

Yelp
We got our wedding cake here. Their price can't be beat. A 4 tier cake was 475 vs another baker wanted 1400. They delivered to the hotel downtown at no extra cost. Just make sure you give them a picture with multiple angles of the cake and a true representation of the colors you want. They are great at replicating what you want if you give them clean concise directions.

Yelp
Alas! Welcome to the cafe/bakery which has become a staple establishment for Ellicott City suburbanites galore! Mothers love it (it's quiet) and Koreans loiter in it (nice, clean atmosphere, usually in the evening). I personally love the twisted doughnuts, croquettes, and milk bread. Bread prices are reasonable, and the sandwiches aren't half bad! They also serve bubble tea/smoothies, but I've had much better (unfortunately there is no other local bubble tea place); they are usually way too sweet. They open early which is great when you're a commuting student like me. I'd usually pick up a couple croquettes and maybe a dessert bread. Mmmm....now I want a croquette.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
I absolutely am in love with this place! They have the most moist bread and so many choices to pick from! I recently went in and tried their green tea bingsoo (korean ice cream) and it was just amazing! A wonderful bakery/cafe shop!!
google avatar

Taheerah B.

Yelp
The assortment of pastries sent my sweet tooth into over drive. I opted for a tiramisu with a white chocolate soy mocha. Although the tiramisu was the absolute best ever, my soy white chocolate mocha was off. I am not sure if it was the soy milk or the white chocolate, but something tasted old. I had to throw it out. I will return, but I am sticking to a simple coffee or better yet, water.
google avatar

Ally Y.

Yelp
To be honest I didn't have the best impression from my last visit (which is more than a year ago), but I recently visited! Everything seemed fine and the staff is busy, everything was average. didn't try the food, but it's a good place to study. music seemed a little louder than usual. there is a group of girls working, clearly friends, and they don't seem to be too loud. there was one occasion where a group of guys who seemed to be the friends of the girls came in with smoke and such, but otherwise it was good.
google avatar

Ann C.

Yelp
I've been here once before, but didn't ever find it noteworthy, so I've never returned. Today, I happened to be at the CVS right behind the bakery, so I decided to give the place another try, despite the meh reviews. The hubby and I got a pizza baguette and ordered an iced white mocha. The baguette was way too doughy and chewy, and tasted old. They brought us out an iced mocha, and when my hubs told them he ordered an iced white mocha, they stared at us like we were crazy and asked "well, what do you want us to do?" (I know for a fact he ordered the white mocha because I was thinking "OOOH, he's gonna have the runs tonight" when he said the words "white mocha"out loud to the girl at the register, HAHA) We asked for the drink we ordered, the server reluctantly agreed, and came and slammed our drink down at our table. We won't be wasting our money here anymore!

Yelp
I usually stop in on weekday mornings on my way in to work for a latte and a baked good or two. Always greeted with a smile and exceptional service. Came in today on a Sunday afternoon for a coffee date with mom and had my usual latte. Mom ordered a Turkey wrap and I had an egg & cheese on croissant. Mom raved that the greens in her wrap were fresh and everything is reasonably priced! The folks that patron this cafe/bakery are a good mix of people and seating is plenty. Did I forget to mention they have fresh baked goods, too! :D

Yelp
This Korean bakery aspires to be Shilla Bakery (Rockville, MD and Annadale, VA), but it just misses it's goal by a few notches. This place has a seating area to meet and chat with friends over a cup of coffee, share bingsoo with friends, or just chow down on little individual cakes, or breads. However, the quality of the cakes, breads, cream puffs, etc., leave just a bit to be desired. There are some uniformity issues amongst the little individual cakes that need to be corrected (some of the mousse cakes are larger than others, have more details than others of the same kind). Some of them just don't look like they were made that day; look like they might have been sitting there for a bit and look a bit tired. However, the ones that I did get tasted fine and were packed in a cute little take away box.
