Go to the Jin in Chinatown!
Came here on a Saturday night with family after an airport pickup. Frequented the Jin in Chinatown that is still running buffet style with full complement of sides, prepared dishes and meats and expected similar.
Located in the corner of a plaza with a few other asian restaurants, its a loungey vibe with decent parking. Waitstaff was very friendly which is a plus, and it was only 30% full so quickly sat down and got to eating. Food came out quickly so time from parking to belly is quick.
Tried: LA Galbi, hanjungsal, pork belly, beef belly, squid, octopus, beef tongue, spicy bulgogi, and shrimp.
Basically, Galbi was subpar quality, some pieces were 80% fat. Beef tongue was old and chewy, same with the squid. Pork belly, beef belly, and hanjungsal were delicious. Shrimp was decent as well.
Sides were decent that were there, slightly worse then a typical korean restaurant. Tofu stew was too salty though.
Unfortunately, this location doesn't offer the same buffet setup (which is fine post covid) but even worse they don't offer nearly the same selection of dishes (though the price is the same). Same franchise, but different owners... also, chicken wings are nowhere near the korean fried chicken wings of the other Jin.
Maybe come here if you're located north Houston, but the other Jin is definitely worth it more for the money
