Where to Order Takeout for Thanksgiving in NYC

"I recommend Bon Pâtés’ Party-Ready Patties — the Flatbush bakery is selling frozen, cocktail-size puff pastries with fillings like cod, oxtail, spinach, and Impossible beef that can be passed around on a platter as an elevated finger food." - Tammie Teclemariam

Ordered the soup joumou from the Sunday menu and received what seemed like Bouillon (see pic). It looked and tasted nothing like soup joumou. It was also a tad too salty for my taste (and pricier, at $25, than typically found for that container size at other similar restaurants). I liked the flakiness of the patties but the oxtail filling was a bit acidic and the pastry dough had an odd taste. I didn't finish it and wouldn't re-order. I did like the packaging for the delivery order. The soup container was secured with clear plastic wrap and the patties came in cute little boxes bearing the name of the bakery. Overall, though, this was a disappointing experience, as I had been looking forward to trying this place out.

My Ayitian.... I've reviewed many restaurants and fast food. With that being said finally I was happy to know I didnt have to travel far for Bon pates..... They have different choices of meat as well vegan. I would gladly say you will enjoy thier flaky croissant tasting meaty or non meaty choice. 🤤🤤Enjoy

Pure excellence. I have never used the word excellent for food or pastry in my life. But this time I just have to. Those oxtail patties hit different. The juiciness and the freshness is absolutely out of this world!!!!!!!!! You have to try this! This isn’t a joke, I went from Jersey to New York to try this and it didn’t disappoint. Not one bit!!!!

It’s been a week since i came to this place and honestly i dont see what the hype is all about.First of all the pates are not as crispy & flaky as some people mentioned in their reviews.Secondly they are not worth the price at all.Why spending $80 on 14 pates, are you kidding me? Plus they messed up my order instead of a box of cod & a box of herring, they gave me 2 boxes of cod which were too salty anyway. With that being said it was my first & last time bying at that place. The prices are too high for you guys to be messing up people’s orders. There are way better and more affordable places in BK serving good haitian pates which are worth the price. You guys need to do better.I do not recommend.

If I could rate Bon Pâtés on Utica more than 5 stars, I’d give them 150 out of 10. These patties are THAT good. My friend and I went all in and ordered beef, oxtail, chicken, cod, guava & cheese, plus the Tarte à l’Oignon. Each one was its own little masterpiece. The cod patty is a pescatarian’s dream, perfectly seasoned, flaky, and light. The beef patty is bold, juicy, and satisfies any red meat craving. The oxtail feels decadent, tender, and so flavorful, like a slow-cooked stew wrapped in pastry. The chicken is savory comfort food at its best. The guava & cheese balances sweet and salty in the most addictive way. And that onion tart? Buttery, delicate, and unlike anything I’ve had before. The pastry itself is next-level, golden, flaky, melt-in-your-mouth layers that hold all that flavor without being too heavy. Honestly, I could’ve eaten 14 and still wanted more. Brooklyn is full of great food, but Bon Pâtés is truly special. If you’re anywhere near Utica, RUN, don’t walk. These patties are unforgettable.

Absolutely delicious. Ordered on uber eats. The packaging was amazing and easy. The soursop limeade is literally summer candy in a drink. The crust is so flaky and buttery, the gave and cheese stole my heart with onion in close second. I will be reordering and might just take a trip in person.

Yelp
We've been getting pate in Brooklyn for YEARS and I must say, in my 30+ years of eating pate, these have to be the biggest and abundantly filled pate I've ever had. The aranso is my absolute favorite. I ordered 3- dozen frozen (chicken, bef, and aranso) for the holidays and they traveled well (still frozen) came with baking instruction too! I called the number, the young lady who answered was patient and very helpful. The shop set up works @ Utica Takeout.

Yelp
We ordered a bunch of patties for delivery, and while they messed up our order, I must begrudgingly admit that the patties themselves were delicious. Haitian patties always have such a delicate, flaky puff pastry crust. My favorites were the oxtail (saucy and flavorful with tender oxtail and stewed carrots) and smoked herring (definitely no skimping on the addictively smoky fish flavor). The impossible beef was also good, as were the chicken and legume. I probably wouldn't get the cod again, it was a little too fishy without any other flavor profile to help balance it out as with the smoked herring. Make sure to get yourself a soursop limeade. It's so refreshing and citrusy with that infusion of tropical fruitiness. You're probably better off getting these in person vs. delivery if you're close by. Alas, I am not, and am therefore wary of another incorrect order. But the patties were so tasty that they make me want to try again.

Yelp
The work lunch became a true pleasure at this restaurant. All staff members demonstrate excellence. The servers here consistently check on you. The kitchen produces stunning results. This spot warrants multiple visits.
