Food does not make up for the trash service. If you dare to order, be prepared to wait forever. Not sure how the franchise has not shut them down yet. Edit: Came back to remove a food star. Gross. Definitely will not be returning

If you are planning on eating here, try to call in advance for your food or else you’ll end up waiting 30+ minutes for your food. We ordered two chicken bibimbaps and took about 40 minutes. While the food was edible, a warning would have appreciated of the wait time. Other than that, the atmosphere, decor, and customer service can be much better. Not a bad place to eat, however, the experience eating here isn’t very pleasant.

Placed an order for pickup. Food was ready for when I arrived which is great. For one of the items, Fried Rice with Chicken and ~$2 extra chicken, the bowl was almost $16, for that price I expected a big bowl or even overfilled. To my disappointment it was a very small portion for the price and even the 10pc wings are pricey. Better off buying this cuisine from a small business instead of this franchise which has clearly prioritized profits.

Paid $31 for 24 boneless tenders, it's hard to scale but half of these pieces are popcorn size, with hardly any chicken in them, and slightly salty. Out of the 24 pieces, maybe 12 were decent. Fix your portions, prices, or both :/

Food was delicious and made to order, sauces were fresh and the chicken was good quality. I also had the bulgolgi fries and the beef was of top quality and fries were fried to perfection and had just the perfect amount of crunch with a soft airy middle. Highly recommend and will be coming here again.

It’s true this location usually takes a while for take out, but in the past at least our food was good. This time the wait was about 30 min but when we got home most of our food was burnt :( Pictured below is the popcorn shrimp appetizer and my katsu chicken looked the same. Very disappointed.

Bonchon, can you please tell me where the rest of my food order is? We ordered a K-Meal To-Go for 6-8, and our chicken was fine, but side orders were only half full. Just take a look at the pics. I don't have any expectations that food needs to spill out of the containers, but when it's not even remotely close to being full, it leaves you with a really poor impression. This meal was $80, and you're ripping people off. Please do better.

Standard korean fried chicken, Bonchon is one of the original chains that has been around for a while, but needs to up it's game with new chicken places that have popped up over the years. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it's just hard to give a great review when so many others do it slightly, if not much better. Let's talk location - cute spot actually. street parking only. staff is nice

Something wrong with this restaurant. 40 min waiting time for wings. And the place has not a single customer. They got a new tables, but the place is still terrible. Considered as junk food. Not recommended

I always enjoy the soy garlic chicken here and the fries. Their chicken has such a mouth watering flavor and crunch and parmesan fries are really good as well. Theres other menu options available as well. Will keep coming here to try other items on the menu! Service is fast and friendly. Theres a few seating available, good for lunch and dinner.

Worst Bonchon location ever! Ordered online for pickup and still had to wait 45 mins in the store since it was no ready. No service recovery, apology or explanation. The worker in the front just kept saying 10 to 15 more mins. Save yourself the hassle and don't order from here! After all that waiting, they couldn't even give some plates, ketchup or utensils. There was a sign that saying was out of order yet workers we still using it.

Korean fried chickens has always been a hit in my family. With a special offer of $11.99 for r drumstick, a handful of fried and a Korean donut, hubby and I drove to Fairfield/Parsipany to give it a try, though the counter person packed it for us as a takeaway so we bought it home, and of course it's a bit soggy. Nevertheless, it's still delicious.

Overpriced. Rude customer service. Rice is dry. It'll be steaming hot and they'll shove it into a plastic container. Very expensive and they'll forget parts of your order. The chicken is good but wow. let's do better, bonchon.

My wife went to pick up our order last night. They messed up her wing order, forgot 2 of our apps and forgot one of my dipping sauces. The ticket on the front of the bag clearly stated what we ordered and the order was still wrong. We got fried rice which we never ordered, you forgot our shrimp shumai, buns, and cucumber wasabi sauce, and the wing order was wrong.

I used to enjoy Bon Chon semi regularly. The chicken was always perfectly fried with a light coating of sauce that wasn't wet, but wasn't dry either. However, this location is terrible. First, is the wait. I ordered and was told the order would be ready in 45 minutes. We showed up, almost an hour later, only to be told the order "wasn't ready" and to come back in 30 minutes. Upon returning home the food (an order of chicken and potstickers with soy garlic sauce and seasoned fries), from a completely disinterested staff, the only thing that was prepared properly was the fries. The chicken was fried, had burnt edges and was so dry you could barely bite through it. Add to that it was drenched in sauce to the point of being inedible. The pot stickers were undercooked and similarly bathed in sauce. It appeared like they forgot my order (presumably while scrolling socials) and rushed it only to both overcook and undercook it. Then to cover it up poured a gallon of soy garlic on top to cover it up. I didn't bother returning. After waiting an hour and a half for inedible food, it wasn't worth my time. I will definitely never order from there again.

Really gone down hill. Last few times chicken strips were burnt beyond belief & microscopic. I keep on giving it another chance, but I think I'm Done.

This place needs a deep cleaning and if this is the front of the place only imagine how "clean" the kitchen is. I told the girl at the register to let the boss know how dirty the place is but she only nodded her head, I'm not even sure she understood what I said. This place have Poor hygiene, hoping this review will make them clean up the place.

They always manage to get the order wrong. Wait times are ridiculous and the food quality is terrible.

Waited for over an hour to get my order. Place the order online to pick up in store. Went in and the cashier told me "to be honest with you I dont know how long your wait time is, the guys in the back did not even start making your order yet". The cashier told me he cant give me an estimated wait time. After 45 minutes of him telling other customers the same thing, I went back again and asked if my food was ready. He came back and told me another 15-20 minutes. There were two guys working in the back using black trash bags as aprons. There were two customers that went in to order in store, the cashier told them the wait will he long and they both left. Another guy was waiting and looked frustrated, turns out he was waiting to get his order for over 2 hours!! Horrible service, wont be coming back due to wait time.

Employee himself was telling customers "You should've just ordered some place else" Waited 45 minutes for 50 pc wings, Somewhat reasonable wait time, but not considering you have to pop 50 frozen pieces of chicken into a fryer. Not only horrible wait time, but also the food was flavorless, full of cartilage, and I was actually missing 3 wings. Counted 47

My first time visiting this location and placed an order. It TOOK AN HOUR! A complete hour and they were slow in business and as customers were order even they grow frustrated! This is really poor service and the order wasn't complete either. Be aware of your purchase food to expect a very long wait and it would be best to go to a restaurant with better service at the same price! Sad!

Check the reviews. All spot on. My grub hub order said my food would be ready by 5:50-6pm. I get there at 6... had to wait in the store until 6:50!!!! I was told "5 more minutes" 3 times only for it to turn into a one hour ordeal. Only one person was at the register. NEVER AGAIN.

No nonsense Korean wings joint on the main strip in Nutley. The service is always slow but it means the kitchen is hard at work making things as fresh as possible. Food is consistently good, wings always cooked to perfection. I would suggest to order in advance, but it still won't be ready when you arrive.

First time I ordered they left off the sauce. This time there was hair at the bottom of my rice. I would not recommend this place. Absolutely gross.

We like a tasty indulgence once in a while and I know fried food is saltier but the last several times I've ordered food it tasted as if a whole bag of salt was dumped in recipes. Please please please take the salt level waay down or make lower salt options. I ordered an udon noodle soup and my lips were literally puckering and wrinkling from the amount of salt in the broth. It's not normal.

I should have read the reviews before ordering here. The ordering system online told me my order would be ready at 101 p.m. I was told that 1:45 p.m.., five more minutes. Food is typically good but I'm not sure the inconvenience is worth it.

Waited 50 minutes after the pick up time. Unfortunately you guys lost a customer. I don't want to expect to wait between 20-60 minutes each time in order. It's just not worth the wait. Clearly you guys get a lot of take out orders. Hire more cooks maybe?

Failed order. 3 soy chicken special 8 wings, and 1 Korean BBQ 4 wings/2 drumsticks were ordered. I checked the receipt too, which was correct; however, i got all orders with wings mixed with Drumsticks. Also i got a spicy order but it was not on the receipt. Food taste: what happened? chicken were not crunchy as expected, but was soggy with little crunch. Disappointed overall. Food is expensive but did not deliver satisfaction.

Love the food and the service is great. The staff is super nice. I would recommend the soy sauce on the pork dumplings.

We ordered 2 meals tonight 11/9.. they said it was going to be ready for 6 o'clock, so my son went , knowing that it usually takes a little longer , at 6:30 to get dinner. He did not get our meals until 7:10.. Nox and when he went to the car, the potstickers were missing so he went back in and had to wait while they make them. We only live a mile away, but by the time he got home everything was cold and had to be put into the oven. Won't be returning anytime soon. Other people were waiting and pacing the floor as their orders were very delayed as well. It's a shame because the food was very good but not worth the hassle .

Saw on Grubhub so I said let's give it a try. Very surprising food was great. Hot and fresh. I'm very picky when it comes down to chicken. Even tho was boneless chicken it was not greasy at all. Cooked just right. Hoping to visit in person soon. See ya soon.......

Everything previously stated is spot on. Wait time,,quality of food and staff lacking is true. Plenty of other places for chicken. Don't bother to respond cause there is no single redeeming quality to the place and will never return nor would I give this place my contact info.

First time trying Bonchon and I ordered for pickup through UberEats because of a gift card that I had received. I really liked the flavors that Bonchon has to offer. I ordered the seasoned fries, they were decent but the portion size is so small. However, they do have a good portion size for the wings and drumsticks. I ordered the medium Fried Chicken Combo which came with 10 wings and 5 drumsticks with a side of pickled radish or coleslaw. I wanted to try both flavors that Bonchon offers so I got the half and half. It was honestly so good and I enjoyed both the spicy and soy garlic flavor. The spicy flavor is super spicy so make sure you can eat spice before ordering. My order was enough to feed 3 people because the wings and drumsticks were pretty big. The total came out to $34 dollars which is a decent price for the amount of food. The only downside to this location was the wait. I ordered the food 30 minutes prior to arriving however once I got there I still had to wait around 5 minutes for the order. So I do recommend preparing for a long wait. Also, they do not offer indoor and outdoor dinning so takeout only.

I placed an order online and it took almost 2 hours to be sent out for delivery. I honestly felt bad for the door dash driver that had to wait for the order. It was an inconvenience for him! Aside from me having to call more than 5 times to get a status on my order. All they had to say was sorry and nothing to offer in return. First time ordering and NEVER will order again. Thankfully another Korean fried chicken place is ordering nearby. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

This place is not offering indoor dining at this time. I'd recommend call ahead and order because we waited over an hour for three items including their fried chicken, which is what I imagine people go there for. Let me start by saying I personally don't crave or cafe much for fried chicken so I found them to be okay they were crispy, pretty big compared to other places and not saucy. I did like their tacos however my taste buds were traumatized by the vegetable potstickers which were ridiculously spicy (I had one and had to wait at least 5 mins until my mouth wasn't on fire). I'm one that loves hot and spicy but the potstickers were extreme so I'd recommend just do the soy garlic flavor.

I used to love this place. The wait time is long, but the food was always fun so it didn't bother me. We took out our order to see the tiniest chicken strips. Smaller than my finger. I can't believe it!

Place is dirty, tables are sticky and waited over 40mins for wings that they said was only gonna be 20mins. I just decided to get my money back couldn't wait any longer. Don't waste your time with this place

FOOD IS NEVER READY ON TIME!!!! Staff is rarely helpful or friendly. Unfortunately, the chicken is good, so we go back! UPDATE - after waiting an additional 20 minutes for the food to be ready, the food was cold! So disappointing! When I called to let them know, the food was cold, the person that picked up, January 2, at 6:15 PM, did not seem to care and just told me it should not have been cold - it was not sitting there that long. Not sure what that means, but I have no idea why she did not just give it to me when the food was ready. I am hoping another Korean chicken place opens close by. otherwise I will have to drive to another location.

FOOD. TAKES FOREVER. Ordered multiple times here. Every time they give you an estimated time to pick up, and every time they exceed it by another 40 minutes on top. The food tastes like any other bonchon, just make sure you ordered ahead. Horrible service.

First of all I've never had a bad experience at any Bon Chon that I've eaten from! This one satisfied my craving while studying some materials. I deviated a bit on my sauces I always do Soy garlic all the way. Today I did half Sweet chili. I expected it to be overpowering with sweetness. But I was proven wrong. Perfection all the way around. The crispy bite after bite was good. They cooked that chicken with love. The veggie potstickers was so damn good!! I was good after finishing those 8 pieces. The star of the show is always the Soy Garlic for me. This Bon Chon didn't over sauce the wings and they were flavorful through and through. This one got me through all my CyberSecurity labs. Excellent job!!

Just your standard korean fried chicken joint. It was a lot more Americanized than I expected, but the chicken was really yummy! However the tteokbokki was a bit of a letdown. It was pretty heavy and under seasoned. Furthermore, the serving size is tiny for the price. The display looks nothing like the picture in the menu either. I just didn't get what I was expecting. I would come back for fried chicken but not for the tteokbookki!

I freakin loveeee Bon Chon. Countlessly, I've said many times after every gluttony brain fog & bloatedness that I'll neverrrr eat it again, but the addictive cravings show up eventually again. My favorite is lunch specials, a small but meaty portion with a side! I lovee that I live near one & know that Bon Chon is a chain that has spread nationwide. Lots of mom & pops shops now with KFC, but Bon Chon is an OG. What's nice is that this spot is near to a park & so I had a nice picnic with myself! :)

Bonchon is great! Being a huge fan of hot wings, I've often said that breading chicken wings is an assault against poultry. I still stand by that statement, but places like this are an exception to the rule where they are doing something different. In fact, I would offer the suggestion not to get the spicy wings here because they just don't taste as good. The garlic wings are amazing. Whatever the case, there are great options on the menu that you will find and enjoy. Not a cheap option really, but a tasty one, and so far my experience has been that it is consistent from one place to the next within the Bonchon chain. Go (or order delivery) and enjoy!

Tried on the recommendation of family. I was told the quality can vary widely between locations and that Nutley location was the best in the vicinity. We had the following dishes: -Takoyaki: rated 0. Barely any octopus. The ball is mostly (~80%)squishy dough and tastes more of smoked herring than the octopus taste I was looking forward to. Would not recommend. -Chicken drumsticks: rated 5. Very crunchy, good flavor. The spicy flavor had a nice little kick. The soy garlic flavor was not at all garlicky. -Chicken strips: rated 4. They have the same delicious crunch and flavor as the wings. We gave them bit of a lower rating because some portions had a thick layer of dough batter (see pics). -Korean tacos with bulgogi: rated 4.5. Good fresh flavor. -Spicy chicken bibimbap: rated 3.5-4. There wasn't much chicken and it was a dry and not well flavored. At least 50% of the bowl consisted of rice which, paired with the relatively little veggies and poorly flavored chicken, made for an under flavored meal. It was highly reliant on the bibimbap sauce and I didn't think 1 packet was sufficient for the dish. -Bulgogi: rated 5. Very good. Very good amount of beef for the price and the flavor was good. I wish it were a bit more saucy to be able to flavor up all the rice it comes with but that's minor as the dish was very good.

I've been to this bonchon before. Seems like they changed the recipe. The boneless wings with soy garlic are extremely salty and overcooked. I wonder if they changed the recipe. These the saltiest wings I've ever had...saltier than Wingstop or buffalo wild wings and completely different than the bonchon I'm used to. I would not recommend going here anymore. The type of chicken and breading they used for this is awful and worse than cafeteria wings.

Their service is so inconsistent it's crazy. Food is passable, but have had to wait 45 to 60 minutes three separate times for pretty basic orders, being told each time that it would just be "10 more minutes." No one is in the place; meanwhile you can hear the kitchen staff messing around in the back blasting music over the music that's already playing in the front. No thanks.

Yearning for some Korean chicken, turned to Yelp, and decided to give Bonchon a try for take-out lunch. Ordered two orders of wings, garlic-soy and spicy. They have lunch special potstickers and bimbimbap lunch specials too. Decided to go big since hubby could join at home for lunch. Bimbimbap was disappointing. I ordered with tofu. While all the veggies, tofu, and rice were fine, altogether just blah. The wings were very good. We liked both flavors. Potstickers were ok. Would stick with wings only in the future. Great take-out packaging.

This place is disgusting!! Dirty Dirty. Bathroom, Floors counters, mice droppings everywhere, workers don't were any gloves!! Stay away and save your money unless you don't care about cleanliness. Management is never around to handle issues!

I love me some Bomchon chicken! Ok, if your into spicy food, I highly recommend the spicy chicken wings, but if you like a mild spice, don't order it and get the soy garlic. My BF and I like mild spicy food but the chicken is crazy spicy but we still get it along with the soy garlic. I usually like to order the Korean tacos with spicy chicken. There's a mayo sauce with red onion coleslaw which helps with the spice on a street taco tortilla. It's phenomenal. We recently got take out during the Pandemic and I was able to pay on the phone and when I picked up my order, the girl at the counter wore a mask and gloves, and was really friendly. No one was in the restaurant at the time.

I dont know what happened to the food we ordered just recently. At first we never had any issues with the Bonchon at Nutley but boy we did this time I was actually excited to get wings here as it has been a while since we had one..and plus they have bubble tea so you know... Anyway I ordered the parmesan fries, large half and half wings and 2 bubbles teas then. The fries werent so good. It was salty and somewhat bitter i didnt understand the taste only that it was definitely not what i expected. In fairness, it had good crunch so i nibbled on them anyway. As for the chicken, i was surprised they were not as "aromatic" as before. They usually will fill my car with such delicious and mouthwatering smell but this time it did not. When we ate it; on the first bite my husband and I had the same reaction. "This tastes different". Its not a stale taste or anything but definitely not the tasty chicken that we once knew. It's like the sauce covered up for something we didnt know what. Little did i know a few hours later my husband had been waking up in the middle of the night, "bombing" the damn bathroom. 3 times! When i woke up, i did too as embarrassing as it sounds. And then he still had stomach aches later during the day today. We are okay now but I dont know if we can trust Bonchon again.
