Bonchon West Valley - High Commons Way

We saw this Korean joint and wanted to try it after we had some really good Korean food in Banff. This one made us feel gross tbh. The chicken was super dry and felt like it was grid more than once. They were kinda greedy with the sauce. The katsu chicken was really dry and the rice was dry. The katsu chicken comes in a pre-packages box. Tasted like they refried the chicken and heated the rice in the microwave. Everything was dry as if they re-heated the food. Honestly, it was disappointing. We paid $57 for everything. The staff were really friendly, approachable and attentive. Overall the food was not good. The vibe and the staff were the exception.

I used to love Bonchon, but it was when we went to various locations in California and New York. When they came to Utah, I was super excited but was soon let down. The drumsticks have always been moist with lots of flavor. This past time, the drumsticks were both dry and lacked flavor. We did do takeout this time, but every other time we’ve had it, we’ve ordered to go with the exception of one time in NYC. The experience at this location was not due to getting take out. We picked up our food about 8 minutes past our pick up time; however, the drive home was much shorter than our drive home at other locations. One option that I wish was offered through online ordering was getting extra sauce or a side of the sauce to add more if needed. I’m not too sure I would come back. We also ordered fries and they were not very crispy at all. For those who have never been here, the drumsticks and wings are not your average wing size. They are the size of a regular drumstick. I ate two drumsticks and did not need to eat more. My husband ate all 5 of his. He usually eats about 10-12 wings at wing stop or BWW’s.

The wings + drumsticks are good for the price but the chicken strips were pathetically small. The flavor was decent but as a person who has tried Bonchon at other locations in- and outside of the US, I would say that this location isn’t quite up to that standard. The fries were crispy and good though. The kimchi and bacon udon was quite good too (but the server also got a little confused when we placed the order and had to ask us which udon we want—good that he ask for confirmation rather than getting the wrong order but man, you should know your menu better). The server gave us wrong proportion of pickled radish (we paid for the side dish but we got the small one which usually comes with the meal, anyway we asked and got the correct size).

Do not recommend! Serving sizes are so small. $8.99 for the 8 piece boneless chicken and the pieces were no bigger than an inch. Looked and tasted like frozen nuggets. Fries were tasty but again, small serving for the price. Mopo corn dog was mostly breading and the potatoes were so crisp they were almost burned. Korean donut has just the right crisp to it. Dripping sauce looks and tastes like sweetened condensed milk. Everything was placed in paper sacks so of course the oil soaked through the bags really fast which made them messy to touch. I used the kiosk to place my order so the most the person at the counter did, was hand me the sack. If you are in SLC and want Korean fried chicken, go to chick queen. Worth the drive and the price.

The food was delicious. The Korean bbq on the wings is amazing. The Bulgogi was great. This is a QSR you order through a kiosk. The portion was a little small. With all the Korean bbq places popping up in Utah I find the price point a little put off ish. All bon chon (side dishes) cost extra. They do not accept Amex (most likely do to a higher merchant charge). I feel this place just needs a little “human touch” if I were to recommend.

chicken is really crispy and flavorful, and the bulgogi fries were super good. food came out super quick and hot. service is excellent & every time we are in town we stop in.

First and last time going here. We ordered chicken sandwiches and chicken strips and a side of fries. Chicken sandwiches had no flavor at all. The chicken strips were very thin and dry, they dont look at all like they advertise them to be. The fries were ok. For what we paid and what we got, not worth it.

First time trying Korean fried chicken; 10/10 experience!! Chicken was so delicious, seasoned just right. The fries were good too, seasoned really well. Clean store and friendly staff! Would definitely come in again!

Well the food here belongs in a high-school or mall cafeteria , very pricey blah food.!! The cashier was very friendly Decent rustic style dining area Never ever again their dishes But the fried chicken is pretty Good

We got 2 types of wings for takeout and they were delicious! We had the spicy and yangnyeom, both flavors were good. The pickled radish sides it came with pairs great with the spicy wings! We'll have to come back to try their other dishes.

Hit this place up on a whim driving by and so glad we did. Super fast, friendly service, clean. Go with the wings, that is where it's at, the flavor and crunch are incredible!!! There was 4 of us and we all loved it!!! The wings are huge, super juicy, packed with flavor and the sauces are great. Tried both the soy garlic, original and yangnam and all are yummy. Been here twice since and I want to try other things but always go with the wings. We didn't take pics because we dig in so fast and forgot lol!

Love!! So happy to have a bonchon close to me now! The yangnyeom sauce was our favorite, the soy garlic was a little too salty. We got the wings but next time I want to get the drumsticks! Workers were kind, and it wasn't busy, the inside was also very clean. Our top favorite is the bulgogi fries, 10/10!! However, the portions here were SOOO small for the price. It was $14 and was pretty small. We went to bonchon in Sacramento and the fries were also about $15 and the quantity was almost triple the amount they gave us at this location. Would definitely go back-- especially for the fries if I were craving it, but there are a lot of other korean chicken places that I would probably go to before choosing this one because of the pricing and portions.

Food: crunch was awesome! Wings were the best but I wanted my sauce on the side not brushed on which they didn't want to do. They insisted on serving brushed on sauce and the wings crunchy but not enough sauce that gave it flavor. The wings are awesome. But the drums inside are juicy but not flavorful so in this case sauce would have been better to dip the inside pieces. Some wings had barely any sauce. Fries, onion rings, donuts flavor was great. Crunchy not greasy. The garlic fried rice was bland. Wish they offered some general condiments like hot sauce. Service: professional, prompt. Ambience: dirty tables, a lot of dirty trays piled up by soda station and super dirty stinky bathroom. Fast casual dining area.

Needed a quick bite and saw Bonchon, so we gave a try. We ordered the Seoul Sampler: feeds 2 and comes with 2 drum sticks, 4 wings, bulgogi fries, pork potstickers, Korean Street corn and coleslaw. With that you get a choice of flavor: soy garlic, spicy yangnyeom, Korean BBQ or classic crunch. The chick drum sticks are very big compared to a lit of other places. We picked the yangnyeom sauce and very tasty. The drum sticks a little over cooked but not bad. The wings were juicy and delicious. Bulgari fries are a must try. Topped with parmesean and mozzarella cheese. Corn was different but good and coleslaw was very light and great with the wings. Overall what we ordered was good and great experience. I will be coming back to try some of their other items and wings again. The guys working jumped up to help once they saw me come to the counter to take a look at the menu again and I was not expecting that after already ordering my food. They also do catering .

Really good fried chicken. Better than kfc and popeyes! You definitely don't feel gross after eating here. if you're getting the chicken, get the classic crunch. ask for the Korean bbq and/or the garlic sauce on the side and dip it instead of getting It made with those sauces. Your Chicken will stay crunchy the whole meal or on the way home!

We came in to try these guys out. I ordered the bibimbap. They have a nice kiosk that shows pictures of what we were ordering. It shows a big round bowl with all of the elements separated into sections around the bulgogi in the center. When they brought it out to me they gave me a to go container that was 1/4 the size of the picture. It literally had maybe three bites of bulgogi or any of the other components. So 18$ later I threw half of my 1.5 cup of food put into a tiny Togo container in the garbage and left. Definitely not worth trying. The portion size was deceptive and the food wasn't worth eating. I did try the tacos and they tasted great. They were also double to size of my tiny joke of a meal. They did bring our food to us quickly and the store was very clean.

My friend and I got some fried chicken and fried rice to go today. First time eating at a Bonchon restaurant. You can't tell by the pics but the chicken wings and drumsticks are HUGE! Flavor was excellent as well. The rice was also really good, but it is a smaller portion than you get at some other Asian restaurants, would only feed 1 person if that's all you order but with other food you could get 2 servings out of it. Definitely will go again and try more things on the menu! Staff were very helpful, it's just fast food dining so if you dine in you'll get plastic ware and very casual seating.

After 7 years of waiting, it has finally opened in Utah!! So fresh! Great service! Must eat in store for the full crunch experience!! Yum!

The chicken drumsticks are huge. Food was very good for the price. The crunch was perfect on the regular fried chicken. The cheesy bulgogi rice bowl had good flavor, but the rice was overcooked. Pickled radish wasn't very pickled. The bulgogi fries were perfection! The girl at the counter was nice and helpful. Our table was dirty and she rushed over to wioe it down soon after we had sat. Its a small building with limited seating.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The fried chicken is excellent! Very crispy hot and delicious, I went with the spicy sauce which was good but could have use more. Seasoned fries a great. I came with a "Korean doughnut" not sure why, but it was good. I would have preferred to swap it for a different item. Over all good food I will return for more chicken for sure.

Very mediocre, not much flavor. I may have gotten a teaspoon of sauce to 2 cups of rice. Was so hopeful, won't go back.

Extremely spicy!!! It's too spicy not to be able to eat, I definitely won't come back

This place was a disappointment from start to finish. Their point of sale/ordering screens were a confusing nightmare, listing that you only had one sauce or rice ordered when we had added several. We ended up on the checkout screen with no way to edit the quantities but gave up and submitted the order anyway. It took 25 minutes to get our order and when we got it home there was virtually no sauce on any of my boneless pieces. The breading is equivalent in quality to a frozen chicken nugget and the chicken was cold and dry beneath the breading. Cole slaw was fine...exactly the same as KFC's. Give this place a pass.

Food was good, service was great. Ambiance was great. I love chicken. The donut was great.

They have great food and great service! Highly recommend the bulgogi fries and bao buns! The employees are very friendly and helpful!

I'm sorry, but this was just not good. The chicken katsu was way over cooked- overcooked to the point the outside was almost burned and the chicken was jerky level. The corndog was ok, but nothing you couldn't get out of the freezer section and do at home. It was very over priced as well. Disappointing. Service was slow. They were nice but just kinda standing around chilling. Wouldn't return.

This place is the awesome. I would highly recommend it really good chicken and amazing Korean dishes

I forgot to take photos but my bf and I went to check out this new spot. He ordered the tteokbokki which was generally pretty spicy even for him, he enjoyed it but would prefer chinatown instead. I ordered the wings with the Yangnyeom sauce which was very good and would for sure get again however I also ordered the Bulgogi fries, gotta say they were un-eatable for my taste, loved the bulgogi but the fries were too salty and wasn't a fan of the choice of cheese, wouldn't order again as the price doesn't seem worth with the portion as Bumblebee's K-Pop fries are the same price but have a bigger portion and in my option taste a lot better.

Ordered 8 garlic soy and 8 yangnum drumsticks for around 40 bucks. they were HUGE, juicy, and extremely crunchy. For the amount, no fast food fried chicken came close. definitely the best fast food fried chicken in utah

We ordered online for pickup. We got the bao buns, bulgogi fried udon, boneless wings, and mixed wings and drumstick combo. Everything was delicious!! Highly recommend if you are a fan of korean chicken wings. The crunch is awesome. Will be back!
