#TGIF Date Night in the #BackBar at Bonda Restaurant. Half way through dinner I forgot to take photos (thanks to the Modelo) so only appetizers are featured tonight! DD had the oysters 🦪 🦪 so I tried the grilled artichoke which surprisingly arrived with some cured meat and cheese! Yes, you can eat the stems. We both had the Cheese Burger (in paradise) which was served on an English Muffin. It came with a side salad and French Fries. The french fries had their skins on them and were very delicious. There was so many, we had to take the leftovers 🥔 home. We shared the Carmel dessert. So good!

My wife and I always try a new spot when we go out so we decided to try Bonda. We ordered the mussels and the artichoke hearts as appetizers. The sauce for the mussels had way to much salt, my wife typically takes the bread and soaks up the juice to every appetizer of mussels but didn't this time. Then I ordered the duck and she ordered the crusted chicken. I ordered the duck well done but it was served very bloody, very rare if it was a steak. I sent the duck back to get cooked more and 2 minutes later it was brought out still bloody, I didn't even finish the duck. The staff were nice though.

The food is always excellent! Our favorite dishes are the pork chop scarpariello, chicken laksa and the Bonda burger. Highly recommend!

We had a delicious meal at Bonda last night! Flavorful and beautifully prepared. We loved our seats at the bar, perfect cosmos and friendly patrons. We cannot wait to return.

Google
Bonda is the greatest hidden restaurant in Fairfield county. The service is unmatched, everyone here is so sweet. The food is all insanely good regardless of what you order. The ambience is extremely cozy. This is a regular date night and the absolute best- easy parking, no traffic, the hidden gem.

Google
I have been to Bonda several times over the last year and it never disappoints. The waitstaff for table service are always very sweet. The menu changes regularly, but my husband and I have had the steak frites, fried chicken, salmon, pork Milanese, Bonda burger, as well as a mired of appetizers (wedge salad and little gem salads are not to be ignored. They seem less exciting than some apps but they’re so tasty!) all with the same creativity and scrumptious taste. I went most recently with my parents and had excellent service, delicious food and a dessert that was out of this world. I’m my opinion, it’s the best restaurant in the Fairfield/Westport area.

Great Greenfield Hill neighborhood restaurant. Food , Staff & service are impeccable.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite special date night place in the Fairfield area. It's got a very cozy and lovely atmosphere and the service is spectacular. The menu isn't quite seasonal, but changes regularly and is always delicious. Don't get turned off by the external building the inside is quite lovely!

Yelp
Nice off the beaten path dining experience Just outside of down town Fairfield Great drinks and the chicken is amazing Generous portions at a good price which isn't easy to find in this economy

Yelp
I have only had the change for 1 meal here and it was a heck of meal! I can't tell what kind of restaurant they are trying to be as each meal has its own country of origin. One thing i know, the Duck Mole was exceptional! The duck was cooked a perfect medium rare and the fat cap on top was crispy and perfectly cooked! The polenta stuffed poblano was perfect and I needed bread to mop up all the mole I could!!! Can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service. Great personal attention to details as well as excellent cocktails and wine list.

Yelp
This restaurant is so close to home and wanted it to be great, however the food was fair, the service was unintelligible and distracted, in a dining room with 5 tables you'd think it would be hard to feel forgotten but...I have been here multiple times and it's always the same thing.

Yelp
Bonda is a charming restaurant located in greenfield hill area of Fairfield. The food is consistently delicious and prepared with care, creativity and always reflecting what's in season. The menu features various dishes and options, some items stick around for a while because they are so popular, and special items are commonly rotated through their lineup to always make it interesting to dine there. The service is warm and welcoming, with the feeling of arriving at a friend's home for dinner. Jamie (the owner) is super accommodating, and great to hang with at the bar. Highly recommend this establishment. Menu highlights? I haven't had anything yet that hasn't been stellar, so I'd say whatever strikes you. The sriracha chicken is killer

Yelp
Another ground hog's day was made a little different thanks you our yelp night in. We started early and got dinner at 6:11. That was only 4 minutes after our slotted pickup time. We picked up a great dinner to go from Bonda a fantastic and very local small restaurant only about 2 miles from our house. We have been trying to get Bonda for a couple of weeks but you have to order in the morning if you want dinner that night. So today we placed our order before 10am this morning and have been thinking about it all day. This is only our 2nd "celebration" dinner since the lock down started. Thanks to yelp for getting us involved - it was a nice way to celebrate the end of a high school career for my daughter- not like we thought we would be doing this - but still special to be with family tonight and enjoying a great meal. The staff at Bonda are very nice people and I really liked that they are taking all their tips and splitting them with all the workers they can't have in the restaurant. This is kind of business I want to support that cares about their employees. All the meals we got traveled very well for the 10 minute drive back to our place. The steak frites were perfectly cooked to medium rare and the pork chop was fantastic with the cherry peppers and the couscous and broccoli rabe. My daughter was delighted with the pasta carbonara- it was so rich and flavorful. Great dinner in tonight.

Yelp
What a pleasant experience we had this time around. The Rey had both indoor and outdoor dining, we chose indoor. All tables were properly distanced along with a partition which kept us separated from other diners. For starters we had the scallops as an appetizer and they were perfectly delicious. So rich and flavorful. For our entrees I had the steak frites and my girlfriend had the red snapper. The steak was cooked perfectly at a medium temperature. It was served with string beans and a side salad which was dressed with a delicious vinaigrette. The steak was perfectly seared, I could not put down my steak knife down. My girlfriend had the snapper, usually she has the whole fish and it is fried but not this time it was the fillet. She was absolutely blown away with how good it was. To finish our meal we had space for dessert and we tried the buddhino (sp.) the dessert was served I a glass jar and it was a mix between a flan and a custard, served with some type of a cookie crust on the bottom. I loved it and would have it again. We were expertly taken cared of by Mauricio who did a wonderful job of explaining the menu and all of the dining options. He took our orders and ensured we were served adhering to our food allergies. Our first experience was not memorable at all, matter of fact I was not to keen on trying this place again but I am so glad we did. We will definitely be going back again.

Yelp
Sat at the back bar and they graciously accommodated us last min. Food was on point, vesper martini was on point, service was on point.

Yelp
Parking: ample lot right out front Inside: very posh, nice bar with 2 separate dining areas Drinks: Tuesday is BYOB (Excellent liquor store in parking lot with a fantastic wine selection!) Food: presentation was excellent though taste was less than enjoyable. I had the Steak Frites and could not chew it, scallops were cooked perfectly as the appetizer but sauce was so spicy it killed any flavor of the scallop and the bean/pea in broth was cold (though it might be that way on purpose but staffers thought they were supposed to be hot also) Staff: very attentive and on their A Game. They are one of the only reasons I would go back...maybe for drinks at the bar too. Overall: wish I could go Half Stars as they would be a 3.5...but I'm rounding down based on food taste.

Yelp
Very odd experience this week at Bonda... wines that are listed as "Cabernet (California)" and "Pinot Noir (Oregon)"... unless you ask for the full list... who knows what they really are (btw the Pinot turns out to be very nice... so why the mystery)... then a wedge salad that looks like it was from Dennys... (just google wedge salad and compare to this pic - you lost the tomatoes, onions and parsley... ?? lol). What happened Bonda ?? You used to be our closest local place with a well executed gastropub-like menu, now you seem to have gone a stray... a disappointment. Please return to your former self and let us dine in peace without people yelling at overstuffed tables approved for 4 with 7+ people sitting at them... thank you!

Yelp
"Exceptional ", was the word my VERY discerning Italian mama-chef friend used to describe her Pork chop Scarpariello last night. She never gives compliments like that to other peoples' cooking! We always share the grilled romaine salad; it never disappoints. I switched things up and tried the spicy grilled pork ribs...delicious. Great, now I have more favorites...ugh! And absolutely have the Apple tart for dessert - heavenly and surprisingly light...

Yelp
I've been coming to Bonda for a few years now and this has to be a hidden gem in Fairfield. I'm usually here for business dinners, but the food and service are excellent. The restaurant is small and provides a very intimate, cozy feel. My favorite appetizers are the artichoke hearts, whipped burrata, and sea scallops. For entree's the trout and salmon are prepared perfectly. The fired chicken is very good as well, if your looking for something other than fish & steak. Bonda has some of the best deserts. The caramel budino with salted caramel sauce is my favorite desert. Get it, and you won't be disappointed. A great restaurant with professional, friendly service.

Yelp
Every dish I had was great. The flavors were there and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend it, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Lauren O.

Yelp
Went for dinner. My wedge salad was really good but it's hard to do that wrong. The chicken laksa I picked for dinner was gross, so so tough and chewy that you really couldn't enjoy the flavors. I got an iced cream sandwich for desert which I thought for some reason would be more impressive than ice cream on a cookie for near 10 bucks. For the prices this place isn't very impressive I must be missing something.

Annelise M.

Yelp
Did not enjoy eating here. Ordered swordfish that seemed prior frozen, not particularly cooked well. Which was surprising since we had heard such good things. Have not returned.

Yelp
Last Sat evening we ventured into this fabulous restaurant. We were there before it officially opened. They greeted us by name and sat us at a perfectly sized table. We ordered drinks ,Negronies(not always the best) this drink was perfect. Our server was very friendly and knew the menu well and suggested items .We started with the pork ribs,They were tender and flavorful and just about fell off the bone. They had an Asian flavor Topped off with cilantro. Our server Maurice was very attentive but never pushy. Our entrées were Orchettito pasta with sausage and cauliflower. This dish was to die for. It had just the right amount of sauce , the cauliflower was roasted perfectly and the sausage did not overpower the dish. Perfect in every way. We also had the Sriracha brined fried chicken.Although this may sound boring the taste was spicy yet not so spicy that it overpower the chicken or the breading on top. It was perfectly cooked, not greasy and very crunchy. Portions were plentiful and very satisfying. We didn't have room for dessert. Although the menu looked inviting and very interesting. I will return to this restaurant many times. In fact I'm going again tonight. Make reservations early, it's a very small restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Patrick M.

Yelp
This is hands down the best restaurant in in Fairfield; if not the county. Impeccable service, great ambience and diverse menu.

Chris C.

Yelp
Great service even when you were taking out. The burgers are out of this world and the best takeout burgers around. Restaurant is small but always comes through with food and service. Love this place.

Jim H.

Yelp
Food is good, but service was slow and prices are high. Seems like there are better options
google avatar

Yelp
Bonda was extremely accommodating under unfortunate circumstances. The food and service were incredible. I can't thank them enough for what they did for our family! I know my sister goes there on Tuesday nights regularly for BYOB with her girlfriends and they rave about it. Tonight we are going there for my father's birthday because he loved Bonda. The grilled romaine salad is one of my favorite things on the menu...who knew grilled lettuce would be sooooo delicious!

Yelp
Has quickly become a favorite! Everyone from the charming owner to the friendly waitstaff make every visit a great experience! Do yourself a favor and get the sriracha fried chicken, it never disappoints!!

Yelp
BONDA was good, I can't take that away from them. But it wasn't the best, and frankly a bit expensive for what it is worth. Don't let me be an elitist here on Yelp. Set me straight. I have eaten at some of the best restaurants recently, and hoped this would live up to reviews, but I found it to be overpriced for what we got. We started with Buratta, with a delicious sauce and well-toasted bread. If made in-house, this was a great dish, and really hit the spot. The main course for me was Steak Frites - steak and fries. I came for a great steak, I got a good steak. It was well-cooked, but just not what I want when I spend $40 on a steak. I expect something to be flavorful, and melt in my mouth, this steak was a bit less quality than I hoped. I wouldn't go back, but there are plenty of $$$ restaurants in this area if I want to spend more money for less food, and in this case, slightly lower quality. Despite that, it gets four stars because it was still not bad, over all.

Yelp
This place is full of contrasts: some of the best food in the area, an exceptional service but also one of the most noisy restaurant we've been to. Even with the efforts made by the owner, forget about a romantic conversation with your partner. There is a tendency in the nice restaurants in this county for the ladies to almost scream to their friends and the men to laugh as loud as possible. Good for them, not very cool for the others looking to enjoy the food and a good 'reasonably quiet' company. Kudos to Maurizio that turned our questionable experience into a great evening by offering a quieter table on the other side of the restaurant. Instead of leaving before eating that night, we enjoyed the quality and creativity of the dishes and plan to come back.

Yelp
A Gem tucked away in Greenfield Hill! Excellent food, a friendly and attentive staff in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Great for any occasion. The Sriracha Fried Chicken is an all time favorite as well as the Pork Chop and Bonds Burger! One of Fairfield's Best!

Yelp
It is a gem in Fairfield!! Super friendly and kind staff. Food was delicious! Very special place!!

Yelp
Dined several time at Bonda and their food is really delicious! The menu is not big, but everything in it is excellent. You can dine inside and outside or even at the bar. Al three experiences are nice and different. The staff and service are amazing and very professional! The atmosphere is cosy. Would I recommend it? YES!

Michelle W.

Yelp
We made a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. They squeezed us in and took great care of us. Excellent service from al their staff! Really 5 star. I Had the sriracha fried chicken ! We will be back again soon!

Yelp
Have done amazing carry out during this crazy time and we finally went to eat there Saturday. Was great again. One of the best places around.

Yelp
It must be loved and reviewed by locals that go there a alot because our experiences as far below the others described here. We had a party of 7, with a reservation, and so we were taken to a far back room (or library?) for our table. We were seated with three other small tables that were very quiet and there was no music or any ambiance and it was very awkward - I felt like big party crashers! The room was freezing cold to boot and everyone was dining with their jackets on!!! The service was seriously lacking, as several times I believe our waiter completely forgot about us back there, took forever with our drinks, and even longer for the check. By the end of the night we were the only ones back there along with another couple who was also waiting forever for their check and also very angry. My father had to go into the kitchen to find someone to help us!!! As far as the food was concerned - it was average with an above average price. The grilled romaine salad was so oily it was almost inedible. Everything else was just "OK". My sister, who is a vegetarian but always finds something on any menu that she can eat, asked the waiter if anything was or could be made into a vegetarian dish (not vegan, just no meat!). He had no clue, and again we waited forever for him to ask the chef. Basically he told her that she was limited to three appetizers and they never offered to make something different for her, which most restaurants will do. She ended up with literally a bowl of fettuccine with butter on it and was very disappointed. Needless to say, it was not a great experience. Maybe it was an off-night, but there are waaaay better restaurants in the area for the same price or cheaper.

Yelp
Just recently tried Bonda Restaurant in Greenfield Hill, Fairfield, CT. Excellent Food! I was a long time fan of Abbondanza in Westport, CT - I used to work right around the corner, so it was my deli of choice. Abbondanza at night, became Bonda - but we never got a chance to try it. Bonda recently moved from Westport, CT to Fairfield, CT - closer to home, as I live in Fairfield! It was great to see some of the same faces that worked at Abbondanza, in Bonda. My wife tried the scallops, which were amazing and I had the Fried Chicken with Mac and Cheese and Apple/Endive Slaw. It was cooked to perfection, so tasty. The service was friendly and great! I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice dinner out in a cute little restaurant.

Jack W.

Yelp
Bonda continues to provide an amazing dining experience - the food, the presentation, the attentive service are top notch. Even in Fairfield County, Bonda stands out

Jim B.

Yelp
You will not find a restaurant in Fairfield or Westport with the style, flair and food that Bonda Restaurant generously serves up. The owner's presence and high touch and sense of style Makes it feel like home. The food is diverse in flavor and presentation and served by a team that adds to the homey and warm feel. Bonda is the rare joint in Fairfield County that combines all the elements of great hospitality. Ambiance, good, wine and service.

Yelp
Tonight I found myself humming the famous song titled "Oh What A Night" by Four Seasons, all the way back home from yet another fabulous event put together by CT Bites in partnership with Chef Jamie Cooper of Bonda restaurant in Fairfield. It was such a blast! Amazing food, plenty of wine and wonderful intimate gathering of fellow foodies. I got home after 10PM but I was feeling too charged to go to bed and I just had to blog about it ... NOW! It was a very exclusive tasting event presented by Chef Cooper showcasing some wonderful first course options that he is considering for his menu. Our job was to try out his creations, and share some feedback. Tough job, I know ... but someone had to do it! I had never dined at Bonda before so I did not know what to expect. As the wonderful food started to come to the table, the first thought that hit me was that this chef really thinks outside the box. He forced us diners to get out of our comfort zones and try unusual pairings of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Chef Cooper presented us with creative cocktails like "Milagro Silver Tequila with Scorched Grapefruit Puree and Cilantro-Mint-Jalapeno Simple Syrup" served with Chicken-Black-Bean-Cheddar Burrito, next came a "Caramelized 3-Citrus Juice with Cognac, Rum and Sparkling Wine" served with yummilicous Potato French Fries and Blood Orange Gremolata Aioli , and finally a "Bacon Infused Bourbon with Maple Syrup and Bitters" which was served with Maple-Candied Bacon!!!! I mean, who would have thunk?!!!! We sampled delicious Chicken Yakitori with Sesame-Cucumber Salad. This very asian-inspired dish was simply divine! There was a perfect little dollop of wasabi sauce on the side that did magical things to the dish and created a wonderful flavor profile. We had Braised Lamb Risotto Fritters with a Spicy Tomato-Olive Sauce. This dish should definitely make it on the menu. It was truly unique and unexpected. A perfect example of how this chef takes a diner out of his/her comfort zone leaving them feeling pleasantly surprised. My personal favorite was the last dish, a winter braise: Beef Short Ribs with Carrots, Celery and Celery Leaf Salad, topped with a very delicate Blood Orange Vinaigrette. For a special surprise touch it was topped with Black Olive Bread Crumbs. The heartiness of the short ribs, with the tang and freshness of the vinaigrette along with the perfect crunch of the bread crumbs is what I would a call a match made in heaven. This one is a sure winner when it makes it on the menu. My belly is full. My soul is content. This truly was an unforgettable evening.

Marc L.

Yelp
Bonds is consistent good and always so friendly. This time I had the special swordfish and it was off the charts. Previous times I had had their pasta and the steak frites. Again great. One of my favorite Fairfield County spots.

Yelp
The spaghetti carbonara is the best Ive ever tasted. Ever. Italy included. I always get the siracha fried chicken, never disappoints. Tried the grilled salad (everyone around us had it), and much to our surprise, it was actually really flavorful. Would have never guessed that based on the menu description, but we will most definitely be adding that to our future dinners here!

Jamie D.

Yelp
Great little spot. We have been in on 3 separate occasions now and each time it's been excellent. Service is great and We've tried at least 6 different entree's now and all (with exception of pork chop) have been great. Pork was a bit flat for me, little flavor. All in all top notch restaurant
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
Awesome little place and the bartender, Alexandra, makes a damn good margarita. Also the carbonara is phenomenal.

Yelp
I've dined at Bonda many times And they never disappoint. Service is consistently excellent and the food is amazing. While not cheap, the food and service provide real value for your $. Save room for the salted caramel Budino - it's heavenly!

Yelp
What a gem in CT! If you're looking for a solid spot in Fairfield.....look no further. Burrata, mussels & ravioli to start. ALL were executed perfectly and tasted amazing. sriracha brined fried chicken....YES PLEASE! Awesome! Pork Milanese with grilled peaches...SURE! Just as delicious. Bonda, I'm happy I found ya:)
google avatar

Carlo Alberto B.

Yelp
Bonda is now one of tops in CT!! Unique dishes, great immagination. Congrats to owner Jamie.

Amelie H.

Yelp
Not Good! I really cannot figure out why there are so many great reviews for Bonda; maybe I went on the one night of exception? Service was awful - how many times can the waiter top your Pellegrino with tap water? How many time does one need to get up to go and get their waiter? The food was so average that I can't even remember what I had. And, there was a smell all over the restaurant, but stronger in the entrance/bar; a smell of a clogged toilet. When we wanted to pay and leave, there was no one around... so we went upfront to find just a few people cleaning the kitchen. They were closing the place and it was very early on a Friday night... I guess nobody wanted to stick around under these conditions...
google avatar

Kathryn I.

Yelp
Amazing food, wonderful service. Try the fried chicken,. Their specialty drinks are amazing. Not many places like Bonda!!!
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
What an excellent meal! I have been dieting to eat at this place ever since I checked out the menu. Fabulous choices, it was hard to decide what to have for dinner. We shared the roasted beet ravioli and wedge salad (with bacon) for starters. So good do not skip the bacon! For entrees I had the halibut and my husband had the fried chicken. Both were wonderful. The Green curry sauce with the fish was to die for! I will definitely return to eat again soon! One of the best meals I've had in Fairfield!

Yelp
Love how this place is tucked away in Greenfield hill. I've been here 3 times and the service and food never fails. Actually had dinner here on New Years Eve and it was delightful. Bonda is one of my favorite restaurants in fairfield!

Gail A.

Yelp
This neighborhood gem never disappoints. The menu is well thought out with new interesting choices and good old standards. Service is outstanding being attentive and hospitable. Always feel a welcoming vibe at Bonda.

Yelp
Bonda is one of my favorite restaurants in the area (for me, its tied for first with Le Farm). It's got a great upbeat vibe in its cozy space. Owner Jaime is usually bouncing between the kitchen and the dining room, greeting customers and making you feel at home. The menu is very eclectic, but somehow all the various styles are very well executed. I love the Siracha spicy fried chicken with coconut jasmine rice. I am also a big fan of the lamb tacos, the curry chicken and the pasta Bolognese. There is an emphasis on strong flavors, though i don't fine the food overly heavy. Service is good, though it can be a bit slow on the weekends. The wine list is well thought out and almost as eclectic as the food, though its a bit pricey.
